Possible to switch from Apache to IIS for 9.3.1 BI+ products?

I need to see if it's possible to 'convert' my 9.3.1 Hyperion BI+ tools to run on IIS instead of Apache, or how hard/tricky it is.
1) Anyone ever switched web servers? Can it be done without uninstalling & reinstalling all the BI+ products?
2) what are the pitfalls?
3) Will SS re-register with it smoothly or would I have to set all security & provisioning up from scratch?
4) how to connect Tomcat back up to IIS?
5) The Financial Reporting (reports plus books/batches), Web Analysis and Interactive Reporting documents, scheduled BQY jobs, and Workspace itself would continue to function normally once IIS is in use right? or do things have to be re-imported or something?
6) The default port would be different right? does that cause any issues given this is an existing production enviro? Do i have to change the port in several places or does some re-register wizard take care of it??
I've had Tomcat/Apache in production for over a year so before attempting this cutover I'd llike an idea of what I'm up against to make sure it's even possible.
Thanks!
Karen

I'm switching them solely to have a better shot at implementing true single sign-on to where it'll pass the PC user's MS AD login ID to all the Hyperion products. With all my questions above I may have given the impression I was also moving off Tomcat, I am not. Was just being overly cautious to make sure my bases were covered. We're still using Tomcat so as I understand it, Web Analysis should still be okay..right?
Pleasantly surprised that Support was able to tell me how to switch web servers, it was simple and it worked for Workspace (but I can't get Web Analysis working yet now that I tried to implement SSO at the same time):
"As long as the IIS is on the same box as where you are using for Apache HTTP, then the simplest thing to do is to shutdown Apache, change the Port of IIS to 19000. Restart IIS, then run the configure Web Server component of the config tool, selecting IIS."
To change the port of IIS6:
Microsoft Internet Information Services versions 4.0 to 6.0
1.     Open Internet Service Manager or Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
2.     If necessary, expand the Web server that you want, and then expand Web Sites.
3.     Right-click the Web site that you want to change.
4.     Click Properties.
5.     Click the Web Site tab.
6.     Change the TCP Port Number in the TCP Port edit box (or click Advanced for multiple Port settings).
7.     Click OK to save the changes.
I now have Workspace working to where it does NOT prompt for a login ID, it works nicely & transparently running on IIS. Web analysis however literally produces a login popup box, the title of the window is the Web analysis server name. Can't figure it out so I opened an SR to hopefully get some assistance. Unfortunately I forgot to test WA after switching to IIS, I went ahead and configured for transparent login too before trying WA so I'm not sure which is causing the login popup box but since I can't get past the login box WA throws up a "you are not authorized to view this page" page.
Ever done this? should it work? that is, WA running on IIS/Tomcat; and also WA working after following the IIS/Tomcat Transparent Login instructions provided by Support - they've been floating around for a while so I assume you've seen them...?
Thanks,
Karen

Is it possible to switch from the preinstalled iTunesU on my iPad to the original iTunes. If it is can someone tell me how, and is this something that commonly happens?

I'm not sure what you are asking.  There is no "preinstalled iTunesU" on an iPad.  The iTunes app is a portal to the iTunes Store. Use the icons at the bottom of the page to switch to different sections of the store.  Use the Music app or the Videos app to access iTunes media you have synced to the iPad.

  • Is it possible to switch from Office 365 online user management to Active Directory after Exchange online migration?

If we utilize the Cutover method to migrate from on-premise Exchange (2007) to Office 365, which to my understanding will hand over user management/authentication to Office 365 online during the process, is possible to later switch from Office 365 user management
to Active Directory (synced to a future local domain, or even possibly via AD federation single sign-on)? If so, how difficult is this process and is there any documentation available?
Asking this because the organization  I'm working for plans to upgrade (re-do actually) its entire infrastructure. There will be a completely brand new domain/AD set up that's totally unrelated to the old one. At the same time, we also plan to migrate
all emails (previously hosted locally on Exchange 2007) to Office 365 and get rid of local exchange. Now because we will set up new domain, we do not want to carry over the older AD to the cloud, hence we will not use the "Staged Migration".
So the plan is to to use "Cutover" migration first, which means all authentications will become Office 365 managed. That's fine for now. But later, after we set up our new domain and AD controller etc, we'd like to have Exchange Online switch back
to syncing with our new on-premise AD. We'd also like to consider the AD Federation Services if it's not too complicated to set up.
Your advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

In principle, you cannot sync back from the cloud AD to the on-prem, yet. But you can take advantage of the soft-matching mechanism once you have the new AD in place:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2641663
Be careful though, as the moment you turn on Dirsync, all the matching users in the cloud will have their attributes overwritten. A very good idea is to do an 'export' of the cloud AD first, using the WAAD module for PowerShell and the Get-MsolUser cmdlets,
which you can then use to compare or import data in the new on-prem AD. Some links:

  • Need Help with switching from Desktop to Laptop for Iphone 4s.

I have an Iphone 4s and I was wondering if it is possible to go from a desktop to a laptop and be able to sync my phone and be able to save everything that I have on my iphone and be able to transfer it to my laptop, such as pics, texts, contacts, apps etc. I have already synced over my music from my desktop to my laptop via flashdrive, i have over 4,000 songs and im not looking to do something like that again. If anyone could get back to me and please let me know if there is a simple solution for this problem that would be great.Thank you.

You can import pictures from the camera roll to the laptop, you can also create a backup of the iPhone on the laptop, which will take your texts. You need to either sync your contacts to a supported application on the computer, or you can use iCloud. Apps are part of your iTunes. You would need to transfer the purchases on your Apple ID to the new laptop and iTunes. Remember to authorize the computer before you do this. Just remember, the first time you go to sync the phone to the new iTunes, it is going to tell you that the phone is connecting to a different library and that you would erase all the music, but since you have moved all of the music to the new laptop, that won't matter.

  • Possible to switch 15" Hi Res glossy for anti-glare screen?

I bought a 15" MacBook Pro a few months ago and have found I don't like the hi-res glossy screen. Is it possible to switch to the hi-res anti-glare option without buying a new machine? The computer's great otherwise, but I edit lots of photos and the reflections on the glossy are distracting.

Welcome to the Apple Communities forums. Unfortunately Apple does not offer an after purchase option to change to the Hi-Res Anti glare option.
    You could try the follow
    http://www.techrestore.com/mac/mbp-unibody-repair.shtml
If you scroll down they have a service that for $199 will remove the Glossy option and install a Matte finish instead. This service does not void your Apple Warranty either according to their site.

  • Is it possible to switch from Verizon Yahoo email account to a basic Verizon.net account?

I have a Verizon Yahoo email account, and have not used it in a while. I recently started using it and realized that I hate the Yahoo portal (garish ads, cluttered interface, etc.).  Does any one know if it is possible to switch to a basic Verizon account. At this point I don't care if it is the classic Webmail or the new Message Center.

Yes.  I did just that a few months back.     You can't do it thru the self-service portal however.
While I don't know if there are different requirements in different states or service areas which may affect who can switch, etc., what I did was use the tech support chat and explained to them that I didn't want the "Yahoo" experience any longer.   Explained I was trying to switch to AOL just to get away from Yahoo but that it wasn't working thru the portal -- but once we started chatting I told them that I really didn't want AOL either -- just wanted the Verizon branded basic experience not a partner one.  Took them about 15 minutes and the first line person had to involve and engineer behind the scenes to make the change, but they got it done without skipping a beat.
If you use a client other than the web client to get your email (like Outlook or Thunderbird or on a mobile device), you will have to reconfigure their POP and SMTP settings afterwards.

  • Is it possible to switch from 64-bit to 32-bit on a x86_64 install?

Well I was a noob when I installed Arch, and still am, but I had enabled the multilib repository not knowing that it would have so many conflicts with what I would like to do (namely, PlayOnLinux). Is there any way that I could remove the 64-bit libraries that I have installed, remove the multilib repository, and have an all-32-bit system? The loss of RAM won't be a big deal for me since I will most likely just install a PAE-enabled kernel (if that's possible in Arch) to make up for it (that's what I had done in Ubuntu).

I tried the switch... but... I got fubar'd It might have been an error in the way I had my system set up though, because I did follow every step that was posted. After I rebooted from doing the switch, I was no longer able to boot, and I was getting a "cyclical error" or something like that. I'd just try the 32-bit chroot environment if I were you. I don't have it working yet (someone is helping me out with it), but once it's done, it should be a much cleaner and safer way of using 32-bit programs.

  • Going from apache to iis

    Hey guys,
So I have been developing a website using php and mysql. I
have been testing it on an apache server, but I just found out last
minute that the site will not be served by apache, but instead iis.
I have never run anything on iis before. Are there any problems I
should expect to encounter/lookout for? Are there any changes I
need to make to my scripts? Anything? Thanks!

PHP is generally platform-neutral. However, there are a few
    things that
    IIS doesn't support.
The most important one, with regard to sites developed with
    Dreamweaver
is the fact that IIS doesn't support virtual(). If you have
    defined your
site to use links relative to the site root, all your
    connection files
will be included using virtual(), and will generate a fatal
    error on
IIS. If you used document-relative links, you're fine.
Some installations on IIS don't support
    $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT] or
    $_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'].
Those are the main things to look out for. Apart from them,
    just about
    everything else should work fine.

  • Switching from Mac to Windows for CS5

I need the wisdom of the crowd...
I own the CS4 Production Premiere bundle for Mac. With CS5 coming out, I'm thinking of switching (back) to a Win7 PC - specifically for video editing. My footage is predominantly from the Canon 5D2 and I mostly edit on a Macbook Pro.  I have not seen any literature that the CS5 version of premiere or the Mercury playback engine will stop my footage from stutterinhg in Premiere Pro. I can live with longer render times, but don't want to transcode media in order to edit/playback in realtime. Even previewing a clip in PPro on the Mac will cause stuttter.
Rather than deck out a Mac Pro with Cuda card I'm thinking of going back to Windows and building an editing station with an i7 core and cuda card.  It also means going through the cross-platform licensing process again (I originally came from the PC world)
I'm really stuck with what to do here and would love the wisdom of the group
    Thanks in advance

Going back to the PC is a great idea.  I built a great system that would cost double what I put together on the MAC.  No brainer really.  I bet the difference in cost when cross-platform licensing changes you will still be ahead.

  • How so I switch from MMS to iMessage for a specific contact?

I am using an iPhone 5 running iOS7.  I was trying to send an iMessage to a contact, with whom I've had many iMessage exchanges previously, and I got the error that it was not delivered.  It asked me if I wanted to send it as a text and I foolishly said yes.  Now I can only send texts to this person not iMessages.  I have tried turning iMessage on and off I have MMS off.  My wife is still able to send iMessages to this person.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

iMessage activation is not instantaneous. When you turn it off it takes a couple of days for that to register on the phones of the people who send iMessages to you, and when you turn it back on it takes a couple of days for your correspondent's phones to recognize that you have iMessage again. So toggling it arbitrarily is a really bad idea. Leave it on for 2 days and see if it recovers. Likewise, perhaps the person you are sending to has turned off iMessage.
Normally sending one message as MMS does not make a permanent switch; if subsequent messages do not go as iMessage there's a different problem. Either the recipient's phone does not have a good data connection, or they turned off iMessage.

  • Apache and IIS for commercial use

Can I use this module in my webapplication ? Is it allow to
    use in commercial environment?

I'm not the authority here but I do NOT think you can use it
    commercially for the following reasons...
    The End user Agreement clause
    - 2. says " ..License is granted to a personal, limited,
nonexclusi\ve, roytalty free license for purpose of EVALUATING the
    software..."
    - 2.1.1 says "This package does NOT contain the open source
    version of the FLex SDK"
Section 1.5 defines "Internal Network" as one that excludes
the internet - but there is no mention in the licensing document
that prohibits use the software on the internet for personal
evaluation purposes. I may have to read it wrong but that is what I
    inferred...
Anyway, a lawyer and a couple of hundred dollars may give you
    the right answer!

  • Switching from PC to Mac - Can I use my old product key?

I just upgraded to CS4 with my Windows version software and now I'm switching to a MAC system. I know I can run Windows in bootcamp and use my old software but I would like to know if there's any way to use my Windows key to activate the MAC software?
I'm moving to a MAC to get away from a broken OS so I'd rather use Adobe Suite in its MAC version.
Do I have to buy another whole CS4 Suite to switch to the MAC version or is there something else I can do?

If you are going to do this then do it before the next upgrade as then you won't be able to get the Mac version of CS4 for just a transfer fee. I tried this and was told I was too late and had to purchase the full CS4 Mac version at $1700 because they didn't support CS3!
