Possible Upgrade Options to Photoshop CS6

I have the Design Premium Creative Suite latest version, and the latest Lightroom.
I want to retain the use of the CS programs but the current versions will be sufficient except for Photoshop and Lightroom.  At this point and in the future I will only want to upgrade to the latest Photoshop and Lightroom.
I am thinking that when Photoshop CS 6 comes out I can strip the Suite off of my system, and reload it without Photoshop selected (I am fine with losing the integration with Bridge, etc.)
Then purchase and load the new Photoshop 6 as a separate standalone program which will of course integrate with Lightroom.
Can anyone think of any reason why this would not work?
Thanks in advance!

Just a clarification, I will not be using the Suite license for a stand-alone Photoshop 6, I will purchase a full, separate, unrelated license.  This one time upfront expense will position me to be able to upgrade the software I use 99.5% of the time, Photoshop and Lightroom, without the expense of upgrading a full Suite.   The CS5.5 versions of Ilustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, etc. will be more than sufficient for any further use.

  • I have Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium (Teacher and Student Edition.  I've purchased the upgrade to Adobe Photoshop CS6 - Trying to install, but it says my serial number is invalid?

I have Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium (Teacher and Student Edition).  I've purchased the upgrade to Adobe Photoshop CS6 - Trying to install, and it says the Adobe CS6 is valid - but only provides 'photoshop' options for entering my old serial number, rather than the adobe creative suite. How do I move past this so I can download it on my computer.  I don't want to upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite 6 - as I do not need all the programs, just photoshop.  From looking online, I read forums that said this was possible.  Please advise

Unfortunately that option is not possible.
You cannot upgrade a Creative Suite to a standalone product.
Creative Suites can only be upgrades to other Creative Suites.
You'll need to return Photoshop CS6 upgrade since you cannot use it.
Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order
    Some options:
Buy a Creative Suite upgrade, or
Buy a full new copy of Photoshop CS6, or
    Join the Cloud

  • Where is the "Adjust Variations" option in Photoshop CS6?

    Hi all,
I often use the Image>Adjust Variations option in Photoshop but do not see the option in Photoshop CS6. I know we are still only in the BETA stage but I am still curious. I hope it is not going to be dropped. I like to use it for quick fixes on small portions of the image every now and again:)
Thank you in advance for your help,

I just found this out too.  This is a feature I used in Photoshop ALL THE TIME.  We also lose (of note) Lighting Effects and Pattern Maker.  We need to complain.  This is unacceptable.

  • Is there no upgrade path to Photoshop CS6 from Creative Suite 5 Design Premium?

Is there no upgrade path to Photoshop CS6 from Creative Suite 5 Design Premium?

Correct. The only upgrade from a Suite is to a Suite. You get a great price reduction by purchasing a suite, what you loose is the ability to upgrade any components individually.

  • Is there an upgrade version of photoshop cs6?

Is there an upgrade version of photoshop cs6?

It's not clear what  you are asking.
If you're asking whether there is an upgrade path from a lower version to Photoshop to Photoshop CS6 ( Photoshop 13.x), then the answer is yes.  You can upgrade from Cs5 to CS6 perpetual license for $199.00.  Just go to the store and, initially ignore the full $699 price.  Just click on "Buy" and you'll be presented with a black dropdown menu where you can choose between Full and Upgrade.  The dialog will then guide you.
If you want to sign on to the monthly subscription model where you pay every month and never really own Photoshop, then that's just a matter of subscribing, regardless of whether you have a prior version or not.
If you're asking whether you can upgrade from CS6 to a higher version, then the answer is no.  There will never be a CS7.  In the future it will be by subscription only.

  • How to I 'ungrey' 3D options in Photoshop cs6? Trying to convert path into 3D objects.

Hello everyone! I have been trying to create 3D text following a tutorial on adobe tv: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-cc/distorting-and-extruding-text-in-3d/. My paths are ready but my 3D options are grey. I read a post else where that suggested it may be a problem with my graphics card being too weak, (I have a GeForce GTX 760, which I thought was powerful) The other suggestion was to change the documents colour profile to RGB. However I could not see the option for this in 'colour settings'.
Advice and feedback will be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    - Coen

Correct. 3D only works in RGB. Image --> Mode is your friend.

  • No EXtrude or 3d option in photoshop Cs6

    Hi,
Could I have help with my Cs6 beta. I seem no to have a extrude option. When I installed it it said to import presets from my old CS4. any help?

Hello! welcome to the beta. You might have missed the FAQs, where one asks to give more info about your setup: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/963366?tstart=0
The 3D features require a videocard with 512Mb of vRAM, and as stated on http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopcs6/ XP does not have the 3D features.

  • CC Upgrade Option not recognizing CS6 license

    Hello.
I wanted to check out pricing and availability of the cc upgrade for my licensed and registered CS6. However the Adobe site only recognizes my previous Production Premium packs, not my CS6 Production Premium. This probably has to do with the fact that I have a US Version / license, but my location is Germany. Is there any way to resolve this situation?
I have tried switching my CS6 to German to see if I can register it that way so it's in the system, but it refuses to accept my license number (which worked perfectly when registering the english version) and tells me to change the language.
    Cheers,
    Alexander Bardosch

    Hi Alexander
It looks like CS6 was purchased under a volume license plan which is why it's not accepted.
Are you looking for an individual membership to Creative Cloud?
    Thanks
    Bev

  • Is it possible to just download photoshop CS6 ???

I'm a buyer for a company and very disapointed. First , this site is visibly forcing us using Creative Cloud that my company doesn't want to use . Second thing , your products description are so complicated to understand with our distributors. They even don't know wich product I should buy and how to decode your many different licences descriptions . Why can't we find CS6 in other categories than Educationnal at our distributor ?
It was so complicated to just keep CS6 on the market instead of forcing people to pay per month ? It's very very disapointing.
I hate a WEB site that refers us to an automated system . Can we talk to someone ???? Ewwwffff

If I want to buy 65226053BA01A12 ( Adobe CC 12 months ) , can I just pass the order at Ingram distributor or I need a certificate ? I don't want to be a reseller but just want to buy one copy . On the site , they say  : Vendor Authorization Required to Purchase.

  • Option for Photoshop CS6 to Automatically Save a TIFF or Photoshop RAW?

I was wondering if there is setting so when you save a picture file, Photoshop will automatically save a copy of the the image in TIFF or RAW format to prevent the loss of picture quality when it is saved as as JPEG. I have one photo editing software that when I saw an open image for the first time, it automatically creates a digital native folder for me with the RAW or TIFF file in it. Can Photoshop do the same thing and if so, how please?  T hank you! Kirsten

What version of Camera Raw are you currently using? You need at least version 8.3 but the latest version is 9.
Also, note this document: Adobe Camera Raw Help | Adobe Camera Raw 8.4 or later on Mac OS 10.6, Windows XP, and Vista
