Possibly Missing Firmware Module wd719x

When running mkinitcpio -p with kernel updates, I get a new warning that I'm possibly missing the firmware module wd719x. This is new--I haven't had this warning before, and my hardware hasn't changed. I haven't been able to find this module. Does anyone know where I can find it, and, if not, if it's okay if this goes unattended?
Thank you!

Installing wd719x-firmware, as Marshal Kilgore says, clearly solves the issue. However, I'm suspicious that actually this is a false warning from mkinitcpio, as in the cases that are mentioned on the wiki page that Trilby linked. I mean I also doubt that I have such a hardware. In order to check this I followed the upstream URL link of the wd719x-firmware package, and found out that the firmware is for Western Digital PCI-SCSI host adapters. OK, so I have to find out whether I have one of those PCI-SCSI host adapters. I don't know what they are, so I just tried to google for "linux list PCI-SCSI host adapter", without success. Does anyone know how to list such hardwares?

• [new feature] mkinitcpio: Possibly missing firmware for module (LTS)

When upgrading linux-lts, mkinitcpio spat out the following errors:
==> WARNING: Possibly missing firmware for module: bfa
==> WARNING: Possibly missing firmware for module: aic94xx
Is this expected? When it says "possibly", does it mean it might not be missing? Or that it might not be needed? Or just that something is wrong?
When I searched, I came up with 3 threads. Two were from months ago and the other was about using Unity on Arch which I am definitely not doing.
I noticed mkinitcpio was upgraded yesterday or the day before so I'm not sure if this is related to that upgrade or the upgrade of the LTS kernel or the combination.
EDIT: and then my temperature went through the roof for no apparent reason. (Probably unconnected to the update but still.) Restarting seems to have fixed it, though...

I got the same warnings when I upgraded to kernel 3.9 (non-lts). It only showed on the fallback image and not the regular one though. I don't use those two modules so I ignored the warnings. The fallback image contains a bunch of modules you'll probably never use while the regular image autodetects what it needs and gives a much more slimmed down image.
I could be wrong about that but that's how I understood it.
I'm not sure why it's giving those warnings (I've never seen it before kernel 3.9) but recheck the log: It's probably only on your fallback image and you're probably not using those two modules anyway so I'm guessing only a small percentage of users will be affected by this.

The modules EWA_MAIN_BUSINESS_HOURS, READ_STAMP and READ_RFC_LIST are supplied with the next version of ST-PI, which is currently scheduled to be released for customers on December 15. I can only ask you to ignore the error until after the next version of ST-PI has been installed on the system.
Please be informed that the errors are not critical and will disappear
by installing the latest ST-PI which will be release around december the
15th 2008.

• Formula Is Invalid and possibly Missing operator

Hi:
In a new report build with analytics, I need a new row ("Custom formula in a calculated item) that sum two operands and after that I multiply by (-1) to converter it to a negative value I´m getting the error:
Formula Is Invalid and possibly Missing operator
This is the formula:
('Fixed Burden{Nivel04}'+'Operating Expense & Other - Fixed{Nivel03}')*(-1)
By the way, the elements belong to a Hierarchy.
When I change the value (-1) for (1), dont get the error.

Hi SriniVEERAVALLI:
Thanks for answering.
Your suggestion works, but is not what I needed because I only need it to apply this "negative conversion" to one row, not the whole columns.
My statement goes something like this:
( A - B ) * (-1)
The operands that you see in my previous message are hierarchies levels
'Fixed Burden{Nivel04}' +
'Operating Expense & Other - Fixed{Nivel03}'
* (-1)

• Is it possible for a module to remember last viewed slide and user interactions without an LMS?

I am developing a captivate module (using Captivate 6) that can be run either off a local hard drive or web server (not an LMS).
I am hoping that the user will be able to close down the module and then return to it at a later time. Considering the module will not be run via an LMS Is it possible for the module to remember not only the last slide that the user viewed but also any interactions that the user has conducted. For example: saved information in variables, image states (whether or not they have been clicked etc), widgets (I am hoping to use the drag and drop widget so I want the course to be able to remember what items they have dragged where).
Is this possible? I know there is a bookmark widget that uses cookies to remember the last slide the user viewed. I am also aware of another widget that allows you to save variables for use between projects, but in this case I will only have one project file. Is there something out there that does everything I need?
Does the 'self paced learning' checkbox in the TOC save user interactions?
Thanks!

Thanks Lilybiri. So it sounds like there is no easy way to save interactions when run locally. Would using javascript (thats run when a user clicks a save button for example) be possible? Get the script to save a cookie with all the variables and 'states'? I know that saving the variables is possible because there is already a widget that does that, so wondering if there is a way to save the slide states as well (for example whether or not images have been clicked etc).
Alternatively, if I create the project in captivate, is it possible to import into flash with all the functionality and actionscript intact and editable? From there I could then modify it to remember the saved states? (i am not proficient with actionscript so just thinking of potential solutions).

• IPhone (7.0.4)'s gmail email severely out of order and many possibly missing

A friend's gmail in Chrome is fine and looks good. BUT... in my friend's iPhone 4 iOS 7.0.4's apple mail app, mail is sorted somewhat randomly in the Inbox, except for some new messages at the top, and large blocks of emails are possibly missing (hard to tell because the order is so messed up).
I tried deleting and recreating the gmail acct on my friend's iPhone, but it didn't help. I recently (last 4 days) uploaded lots of messages via IMAP into my friend's new gmail account from an imported PST file in Thunderbird, where the messages look fine.
The same problem occurred on my iPhone 5 just for this gmail account; my own gmail account works fine on my iPhone5.
The odd thing is that everywhere else I tried (in browsers in Win7, OSX and iOS) the gmail looks fine; it's just messed up in iOS 704 mail.
Things I tried:
- deleting and recreating the gmail account on the iPhone 4
- turning the mail part off and on in gmail settings in the iPhone 4
- trying my iPhone (iPhone 5); same problem
- installing and using Google Chrome for iOS (works within the Mobile view; didn't use the separate gmail app; this is just a workaround and a hassle).
- On my friend's Windows 7 computer, all the mail appears ok within Google Chrome and Mozilla Thunderbird (IMAP).
NOTES:
- I uploaded about a gig of email in the last 5 days because this gmail account is new.
- I signed up for Backupify.com on the first day (about 5 days ago) but when I logged in to Backupify today, a prominent message appeared that indexing was wrong for my Backupify account and Backupify was currently reindexing the backup.

Do you have Sync Mail Accounts selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences?
If so and the other email accounts are not available there which usually means you are not accessing the accounts with the Mail.app on your Mac, deselect Sync Mail Accounts under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences and select Apply and leave this unselected. This only needs to be done once anyway to transfer your chosen email account settings from the Mail app on your Mac to your iPhone automatically so you don't need to manually enter the accounts on your iPhone. This does not need to remain selected and included with the iTunes sync process with each sync especially if the accounts are already created and being accessed on your iPhone.
After deselecting Sync Mail Accounts followed by selecting Apply, manually delete and recreate the accounts on your iPhone in the order you want the accounts listed.

• Is it possible to call module component's function through interface function

Hi,
I see this in the livedocs.
"In general, if you want to set properties on controls in the module by using external values, you should create variables that are bindable. You then set the values of those variables in the interface’s implemented methods. If you try to set properties of the module’s controls directly by using external values, the controls might not be instantiated by the time the module is loaded and the attempt to set the properties might fail."
I have an extended component in a module. I need to call that component's funcion from the interface function. i.e My main appication call the interface funcion, and that interface funcion has to call the component's funcion. Is it possible. I get error that the component is null, if I try this. Is there any way to do this.
Thanks in advance.

I accomplished this, by dispatching a event from the module, and handling it in the module itself. In the handler I am able to access the component. However it is possible only when I use ModuleLoader. I tried the same using ModuleManager. It didnt work. I am adding the listener in creationComplete event. The event was triggered properly. But the listener was not invoked.
Below is the TestModule i used. In this setLabel is the implemented function.
<mx:Module xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" implements="TestInterface" creationComplete="onCreate()"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" layout="absolute" width="400" height="300">
<fx:Script>
<![CDATA[
[Bindable] public var labelText:String = 'Initial Text';
public function onCreate():void {
this.addEventListener("test",testListener);
public function setLabel(s:String):void {
trace(getQualifiedClassName(parentDocument));
this.labelText = s;
triggerEvent();
public function triggerEvent():void {
trace('triggering event');
dispatchEvent(new Event("test",true));
public function testListener(event:Event):void {
trace('event caught');
trace(moduleLabel.text);
]]>
</fx:Script>
<fx:Declarations>
<!-- Place non-visual elements (e.g., services, value objects) here -->
</fx:Declarations>
<mx:Label id="moduleLabel" text="{labelText}"/>
</mx:Module>
With ModuleLoader I get the following output in console, when the setLabel function is called
ModuleTest
triggering event
event caught
test
With ModuleManger,I get the following output. The event listener is not invoked.
null
triggering event
Also while trying different options, in between I tried using parentDocument. I added the below line in the interface function.
trace(getQualifiedClassName(parentDocument));
This line printed the correct parent class name, while using ModuleLoader. But printed null with ModuleManager.
Following are the functions in main application to load the module using module manager.
public function onCreate():void {
loadTestModule();
public function loadTestModule():void {
var url:String = '';
url += 'TestModule.swf';
modInfo = ModuleManager.getModule(url);
modInfo.addEventListener(ModuleEvent.ERROR,moduleReady);
modInfo.addEventListener(ModuleEvent.READY,moduleReady);
modInfo.load(null, null, null, moduleFactory);
public function moduleReady(event:ModuleEvent):void {
if (event.type == ModuleEvent.ERROR) {
trace(event.errorText);
if (event.type == ModuleEvent.READY) {
mod = modInfo.factory.create() as TestInterface;
var el:IVisualElement = modInfo.factory.create() as IVisualElement;
this.addElement(el);
Am I missing something when I use ModuleManager.

• Sun V480 missing alarms, module tab

Hi,
Just need some help regarding the agent on V480, we have setup the agent and choose advance system monitoring and Workgroup Server as add-ons. But I still don't have the other important tab like the module and alarms when I created the host object.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
TIA.

The Sun Management Center 3.5.1 displays our V480s on
Solaris 8 platform fine...However I just found out,
when installing the SunMC agent on a Solaris 10
machine running on a V480 platform, the Sun
Management Center does not display all the modules,
and missing the alarms as well, just as the above
case.
The object is then displayed as a Blue Folder.(I'm going to assume both the Sol10 and Sol8 v480's are reporting to the same SunMC Server)
On the working Solaris 8 v480, open it up in the SunMC Console, click on the "Info" tab, and look at what it says in the "Entity Family" entry.
Go into the Solaris 10 v480, same place, and see what it says.
If they both have "480" some place in the description, then it's probably just a slightly different version of hardware/firmware for the Sol10 systems. (does "prtdiag" show their model names to be slightly different? - or did you edit their descriptions in OBP?)
Login to your SunMC Server, and look under /opt/SUNWsymon for a file called "<Put-Sol8-Entity-Family-Here>-family.j.x". It's probably under /opt/SUNWsymon/classes/base/console/cfg someplace. (alternatively look for it under /var/opt/SUWNsymon/cfg).
Now, in the same directory as the "<Put-Sol8-Entity-Family-Here>-family.j.x" file, symlink it to "<Put-Sol10-Entity-Family-Here>-family.j.x"
i.e. (guessing at the family names...):
ln -s sun-fire-v480-family.j.x sun-random-v480-family.j.x
You get the idea.
After making the link, restart your Console and look at the Sol10 v480 icons again. Hopefully they're fixed.

• [SOLVED] Apache won't start; missing 4 modules

Hello,
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but httpd won't start after an update.
First it claims each of these 4 modules are missing:
LoadModule authz_default_module modules/mod_authz_default.so
LoadModule authn_default_module modules/mod_authn_default.so
LoadModule disk_cache_module modules/mod_disk_cache.so
LoadModule mem_cache_module modules/mod_mem_cache.so
If I comment these in httpd.conf, the error changes to
httpd: Configuration error: No MPM loaded.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks!

You might want to do that. that is why pacdiff offers the merge option.

MISSING
ONE SMALL FIRMWARE FOR NOKIA 6230i

P.S. CANT AFFORD ANY AWARD AS MADE POOR ALREADY BECAUSE OF THIS PHONE

madmick - I understand your frustration, but you have to remember and also appreciate the pressure that the NSU team are under.
As you can see they are releasing firmware versions for different S60 based phones along with all the variants for the different product codes (and fixing any problems that then occur), and as these are the more advanced phones they have more features which benefit from the NSU team would naturally concentrate on these phones first - I'm pretty sure you would do the same if you were the head of Nokia ! On top of all these issues, they then have to wait for the firmware for specific network operators (e.g. Orange) to approve the new version of firmware to be released.
The NSU team are adding S40 type phones, and I suspect they will add more as time goes by - it's just a case of plugging in your phone every couple of weeks and giving the NSU a load up to see if it recognises your 6230i - who knows - you might even be the first person to discover the new firmware and be able to tell other users about it ! I own a N70 as well as a 6230 (the original one with no PTT function or 2Mp camera!) and I found out that there was new firmware being released for the N70 from this very board ! ...

• [Solved] Missing iptables modules

In an attempt to secure my Arch machine, I've discovered that I am missing several iptables modules that are "supposed" to be there.
Here is the list of available modules.
$ sudo cat /proc/net/ip_tables_matches
udplite
udp
tcp
icmp
As a major n00b in the iptables (and networking), this was the first place I've looked.

iptables will load all required modules dynamically. I think in /proc/net/ip_tables_matches are only the currently required modules:

you get the idea.
Now upon inspection of my system I found that my /lib/modules/3.3.8-1-ARCH/kernel/ looks like this:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Jun 5 09:30 extramodules -> ../extramodules-3.3-ARCH
drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 Jun 5 09:29 kernel
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 703194 Jun 5 09:29 modules.alias
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 688762 Jun 5 09:29 modules.alias.bin
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2702 Jun 5 09:29 modules.builtin
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3579 Jun 5 09:29 modules.builtin.bin
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 346682 Jun 5 09:29 modules.dep
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 483093 Jun 5 09:29 modules.dep.bin
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 353 Jun 5 09:29 modules.devname
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 116651 Jun 5 09:29 modules.order
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 131 Jun 5 09:29 modules.softdep
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 280312 Jun 5 09:29 modules.symbols
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 355147 Jun 5 09:29 modules.symbols.bin
so it makes sense that the directory and files are not found. The question is where is the problem?
Was my Arch web install bad or is there a problem with today's kernel upgrade?

Terminator & Gcool,
Thank you both for your help.
I ended up following the link Terminator posted in his reply and I was able to solve the problem.
Unlike pineapple-biku (in the aforementioned thread) I did not chroot my machine I just:
pacman -S udev
pacman -S mkinitcpio
mkinitcpio -p linux
pacman -S linux
and that solved the problem.
It's odd, however, the number of people having similar problems upgrading the kernel ... seems like there is a bug somewhere that seems to
affect people that "meet certain criteria".
Thanks gain guys!!
R.
Note that all the missing modules are '.ko', rather than the gzipped '.ko.gz' that you should expect with the arch kernel. This indicates that depmod failed when you installed the kernel.

• [solved] Cannot launch cinnamon-settings - missing image module

Hello,
When I try to run `cinnamon-settings` it fails with the following message:
[orschiro@thinkpad ~]$ cinnamon-settings
No module named Image
However, I seem to have installed all relevant packages:
:: python2-imaging and python2-pillow are in conflict (python-imaging). Remove python2-pillow? [y/N] y
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: cinnamon: requires python2-pillow
Any ideas?

It may be that there is a file missing in /usr/lib/cinnamon-settings/modules, or code missing from one of the files in that folder. I honestly couldn't say because development is going so fast.
@orschiro: Which versions of the cinnamon and cinnamon-settings-daemon packages do you have installed?
@Karol: It may be unrelated seeing as pam is a separate package to cinnamon-settings-daemon, but I wouldn't rule it out just yet.
