Possibly the dumbest question about MapLoader

I've noticed that it is advised to use Maps once with the memory card in before trying to upload maps through MapLoader.
My question is, do I have to be connected to internet while doing this?
If I don't there is something wrong because I can't upload maps as MapLoader says my device is not connected when it actually is.
Any help is very appreciated!
The n95 klutz

Hi kappy
No you don't have to be connected to Internet at same time. When you exit Maps application with microSD in your N95 and data is saved, it creates the folder structure on microSD needed by Maploader to write the maps data.

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane  and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Questions' or 'iTunes Store account security' (it appears to vary by country) and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox)

  • HT5312 HOW TO KNOW THE SECURITY QUESTIONS ABOUT APPLE ID?

HOW TO KNOW THE SECURITY QUESTIONS ABOUT APPLE ID?HOW TO KNOW THE SECURITY QUESTIONS ABOUT APPLE ID?

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 on the page that you posted from should let you reset them : go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account, then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you should see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you won't get the reset option - you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use
For future info typing all in capitals is considered shouting and makes posts difficult to read, and may mean that people don't reply

  • The second question about Apple ID

    Hi dam sumo,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know you are not able to reset the Apple ID password by email because the rescue email address has changed. Have you tried resetting the password by answering the security questions? Please refer to the attached article for information on resetting Apple ID password.

  • New to the product - question about validating multiple fields as a group

I have a static form that I'm building from a word document.  Part of that form requires a person to fill any 3 out 5 text fields.
Since it looks like scripts are applied on a field by field basis, is it possible to have a script that encompasses multiple fields?
Would any script need to be applied to each field in turn?
Assuming the answer to question 1 is a yes, how would you script it to require x number of fields out of a total of y to have some sort of content in order to validate?
I'm pretty familiar with JavaScript and am looking at the Scripting reference guides but was hoping for a helping hand to get me there quicker as I'm in a bit of a time crunch - doing 18 forms with validation and database connectivity by January 15 certainly qualifies in my book.
I would assume you'd do something like this but am unsure of the syntax...
    Get values of each field
Set a valid counter variable for the number of fields with content
If field 1 is not empty, increment the valid counter
    (rinse and repeat)
if the valid counter is less than 3 throw an error message
Many thanks in advance for any help offiered

1). Yes, scripting within Livecycle can be for a single field or even static text, images and other artifacts within the PDF. Really anything, within Adobe's reason, when it comes to scripting.
2). It depends on what you want to do. Things like field validations, calculations and other instances where fields are tied togther really dictate how the script runs.
3). Fields that have calculations or validations with them work in the same, I believe. So for example I have a PDF that I made that is an Excel-type sheet that contains a few hundred cells and every single one has some type of validation or calculation associated with it. I generally run the calculations/validations from the user inputting the data and then after that the script runs, but again, it really dpeneds on what you are doing and with what, so answering some of your questions are a bit difficult.
Javascrip/Formcalc are wonderful tools within PDF, but don't forget the Action Builder (Tools -Action Builder). It is a set of preloaded actions that are turn-key. Just select the cells that will have the action and select the result you want from the preloaded list of actions, using those actions can get you very far, and most of all; they are quick to implement without researching code. So for example, you could use the Action Builder to create an action that checks certain fields and if they are null to return a 1 value to a specific numericField (these could be hidden). Then have a "total" numericField (this would be your counter) that adds all of those fields with the 1 in it. Then create another Action Builder for that "total" numericField and if it is less than 3, display a message box that is a warning.

  • Please answer the simple question about publishing Web Services!

I have implemented my first web service GetDate, using JDeveloper.
Could anybody tell me please how can I place now this web service on the web, on my web page?

Dear Shay, thank you a lot!
But it seems to me that you didn't understand my question or may be I have explained it not in the best way.
I have done every step from this tutorial, I have deployed me web service to OC4J Server, and it works.
What I need now, is to make this service available on my home page, which doesn't have Oracle Application Server, so that every person on the internet (even if he also doesn't have this application server installed on his computer) can use it.
Is it possible to do so or not?

  • ADC and The G3 Question about Monitors

My G3 Blue and White PowerMac is running great running OS X but my clunky monitor is starting to take up alot of desk space. I would like to add a 15" ADC Monitor to it (just to keep my apple apple). I currently know that I need the DVI to ADC adapter with the power brick to support the monitors power needs, and that my VGA graphics card cannot support this at all. Leaving the question what is the best card for the job? Do I need a vintage sort of card or is there a newer card that will support it (computer and monitor). Thanks for your help. Oh and I'm going to upgrade to Tiger soon in the future if that helps. Thanks anything is appreciated.

  • Rant The dumbest thing about PS CS4 crashing-

…is that apart from losing any unsaved files forever (and when you're saving PNGs or JPEGs as copies, you can forget to save the master PSD file as you go) is that PS hasn't bothered to save any of your swatchest or recent file lists or any of the housekeeping it waits to do until you quit. Surely it could find the odd CPU down cycle to handle that kind of triviality.
Been a few years been meaning to mention that !-\

For feature requests please refer to this site
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/products/photoshop_family_photoshop
And please do a search before starting a new thread, quite possibly someone else has already touched on the issue.
Apart from that there are things you can do yourself:
First naturally saving the layered files frequently.
And, probably much less obvious, you could find work-arounds for presets involving Scripts and Script Events Manager.
It was not such an annoyance to me, but a thread in the old Feature Request Forum piqued my curiosity and at least for Brushes I found somewhat of a solution in that every time I save a Brush Preset the whole of the Presets will be saved and on starting Photoshop the brush-preference’s ("~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS5 Settings/Brushes.psp") change date is checked and if it is older than the abr-file’s I can chose to have that loaded.

  • A shot in the dark question about Audit Trail

    Gurus,
We (development team) typically provide deployment scripts which contain API calls or table inserts for OA configurations. This ensures consistency between environments and prevents Admin user error from fat-fingering. With that said, anyone have any idea if the Audit trail forms use backend API calls to write to standard tables? Or do those Audit trail forms write directly to standard tables/views?
I feel much more comfortable calling an API rather than trying to mimic standard table inserts.
Audit trail for base tables consist of several steps:
    1. Enable audit at application level (Intall Form)
    2. Define Audit name and define table (Groups Form)
    3. Define audit columns from table (Tables Form)
    4. Run Audit Trail concurrent job.
I am mostly concerned about writing a script for tasks 1-3, since we can easily execute a concurrent job through FND_REQUEST. I've been looking at the FND_AUDIT* packages and none reference a "create" procedure.
BTW, form diagnostic tool didn't supply much information.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi,

  • Might be the Dumbest Question ever!

Can I put IDVD on an external 1tb hard drive and connect a dvd burner, using a partition so that the program and half the drive space is used for operations and half is used for ram. What I am wanting to do is work a project up on my computer, then send it to I DVD program on the stand alone, hard drive/dvd burner to burn to Disk. My thought is that the I DVD project would burn to disk on the stand alone, while I continue with other projects on my computer. O.K. I'm really dreaming here., Huh?

Hello, and welcome to the discussions,
I have not tried this, so I am not certain about my response, but it has been my understanding that all the iLife applications must reside on your computer's main drive in order to function properly. You can put iMovie, iPhoto, iTunes files on external drives, and you can create iDVD projects on external drives. You could put iDVD project disk image files on an external drive and burn those, but then you would still have to create the disk image files on your computer, which would take the same time and computer-intensity as burning a disk. I currently have four external drives for my media files, disk image files, iPhoto and iTunes libraries and backups and all my iMovies, but I keep the iLife apps on my computer's hard drive.

  • The 1st question about Apple is Do they like their customers?

    Unbelievable

I'm trying to talk to someone in the Corporate Consumer Affairs Dept., and here's a summary of how it's been so far (short version - already been hung up on TWICE):
08:07 - Disconnected while on hold.
08:08 - Called back and put on hold.
    08:25 - Patrick Answers
    - Said that Apple is offering no price compensation for the original purchasers.
    - Suddenly put me on hold with no warning while I was in the middle of speaking.
    Anthony - 08:34
    - Apologized for Patrick but didnt know who that was.
    - Wanted to hear what I'd spoken to Patrick about and listened for a while, and then I was disconnected at 08:37
08:40 - Called back operator and asked for a Consumer Affairs Supervisor
    08:57 - Still on hold
I've worked with Consumer Affairs staff at a job, and I've never seen actions like this before. I'm hoping to speak with a supervisor to resolve this, but I'm really disappointed this morning.

  • The ubiquitous question about disabling the "AUTOMATIC pixel aspect ration correction"....

So many people ask the question, "How do I disable the automatic pixel aspect correction" in photoshop only to get repsonses that include the manual step at turning off the correction for the current photo you're working on. Further details are also given from time to time on how this "shouldn't be a problem" or "it's only because you took a video screen grab", or even better, a debate over how it occaisionally helps. Here's the thing, it doesn't help as often as it creates an annoying step in having to go and turn it off when you open pictures that CS5 determines "need fixing" when in fact, the image becomes distorted by this automated fix, especially when this happens so much more now with cell phone pics, and as you turn off the "Auto correct" the image is no longer distorted. It is indeed RARE that this feature does anything good, and way more often that it shows a preview that is way out of whack. Why would Adobe decide that they can't compile Photoshop with this being something you can disable and only turn on for the photos you want as you open them instead of making you turn them off for when you don't (which is the more often case)? Why has this question circulated since at least CS2 on Adobe forums, and yet never been addressed any further than half hearted attempts at describing "recorded macros/steps/automations" that don't work? If I can set a default scratch disk, surely I should be able to set my default action upon opening a photo to NOT auto-correct anything?  If the guys who put Photoshop together don't agree and think "We must autocorrect everything these fools are opening", perhaps we can be allowed enough rope to hang our selves with square pixels anyway and learn our lesson the hard way? Please?

    Hi Darrell,
You've posted in the AIR forums and I think you meant this for Photoshop.  Would you mind reposting over there?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Possibly a dumb question about align center

All the screenshots appear stuck to the left side in Browserlab, how can I tell if a page is floating in the center properly?

    Hi spacegorilla,
Thanks for your question and interest in BrowserLab.
BrowserLab uses a minimum window size of 1024x768 when capturing screenshots.  If your centered content is small enough to show up as centered at that resolution then you can test it.  If your page content is wider, then BrowserLab sizes the capture window based on the content, so you may not be able to tell if it would be centered at higher resolutions.  Testing pages at multiple screen resolutions is something we will consider adding in a future release.
    Cheers,
    Josh
