Post 12.1.3 patches

Hi,
We recently upgraded our applications to 12.1.3 from 11.5.10.2 and we are looking at applying any product specific patches to be on the latest level. As part of this process we ran PatchSets.sh and checked the Recommended patch collection for R12 financials. I would like to know if there is any other way to know the patchsets, family packs that got released after 12.1.3?
Thanks

  • POS-DM, BIW & R/3 posting issue after BIW patch updation

    Landscape details:
    SAP IS-Retail (ECC 6.0), SAP POS (Triversity GM 9.5.10), PI 7.0, BIW/POS-DM 7.0
    Issue Detail
We have upgraded the patch level of Support package BI_CONT in BIW from 5 to 11 in production server and after that following issues have started:
    1.     The duplicate posting started in R/3 i.e. if some POS EoD (TLog) file is already posted from POS-DM to R/3 and if the same file comes to POS-DM again then it gets posted in R/3 again. It was not happening before updating the patch, it used to get stop in POS-DM only.
    2.     We have some EANs which starts with ZERO, those POS transaction doesnu2019t get posted in BIW Cubes and R/3 wherein the ZERO prefix articles exists. It stuck in POS-DM with the error u201CUnknown EAN/UPC numberu201D. But this error comes only if we enable the u201CMstr Data Filteru201D check from General Setting in /N/POSDW/IMG. If we disable this check then the data gets posted in R/3 but it doesnu2019t go in RSA7 & BIW Cubes.
    3.     Before updating the patch the u201CMstr Data Filteru201D check was disabled and our posting was happening perfectly in R/3 as well BIW. What we understand is that, this check is required to pick the Article Code from masters with reference of EAN number which comes in POS TLog file and then it gets posted. We had written a ROUTINE in update rules to pick the Article Code from masters after truncating ZERO prefix from EAN, because the masters which we upload in R/3 with ZERO prefix EAN are getting updated in BIW without ZERO prefix.
    4.    In the T-Code /N/POSDW/MON0, we  are not able to change the status of processed transaction from 4 (completed)  to 1 (ready) or vice-a-versa. Earlier we were able to do the same. This is required to re-process the transactions after doing the corrections in errors occurred at the time of first  processing.
    Regards
    Amar Preet Singh

    Hi
1)Duplicate posting in R/3 :  check the 'Tasks' configuration WPUUMS & WPUTAB in /N/POSDW/IMG  in POSDM.
    2) Write a Routine in BI side to allow EAN's with prefix Zeros
    3) master data filter is used to check the data with BI master data. Master data filter should always be used while data posting.
    4) The status should be first changed from completed to cancelled/rejected and then cancelled to Ready status.
Then you will be able to reprocess the posdm data to ISR.

  • Deskjet 710/720/810/820/1000 Series printers - Patch for 64 bit Vista and Windows 7

There is an issue with the 64 bit Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers that causes the spooler to crash with the following HP Deskjet printers:
    Deskjet 710
    Deskjet 712
    Deskjet 720
    Deskjet 722
    Deskjet 810
    Deskjet 812
    Deskjet 820
    Deskjet 822
    Deskjet 1000
The attached file contains a patch for this issue for Vista and Windows 7.
[The patch does not currently work for Windows 8 or 8.1 x64 systems.  There are some efforts to address this, if a solution is developed it will be posted here.  {Edit - I have not made any progress in getting the patch to work in Windows 8 x64.}]
First make sure the driver for the printer is installed.  If the driver has not been installed go to Start, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer, Local Printer, choose the proper port (for USB-Parallel converters the port will likely be USB001: or perhaps USB002: ), Next, click Windows Update then choose HP for the manufacturer and select the appropriate printer.
Apply the patch as follows: Log into the computer with an administrative account.  Download the patch by clicking on this link or on the paper clip at the end of this post.  Save the patch file to your computer, then unzip it.  Next copy the three DLL files to the following directory:  %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3
Note that %windir% is a system variable that points to the location of the Windows directory. For most systems this will be C:\Windows.  You can click Start, Computer and type %windir%\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 in the address bar and it will find the right place.
This can be done from a DOS prompt if DOS is opened with the "run as administrator" command, or from explorer with a copy and paste.  Depending on your UAC settings you may need to provide confirmation.  Also allow the current files to be overwritten if prompted.
This patch is not required and should not applied to a 32 bit version of Vista or Windows 7.
Thanks to extraordinary Microsoft engineer Alan Morris for guidance for the patch.
Update - the following are more detailed installation instructions:
Download the patch from here. Now click on the file and open it, then extract the patch to some directory that is easy to find. (I use c:\temp. If this directory does not exist you can create it as follows: open the administrative DOS prompt by clicking on Start, All Programs, Accessories, then right click on CMD.EXE and select Run as Administrator. Click in the DOS box then type the following:
    MD c:\temp
    CD \temp
Now extract the patch files into the c:\temp directory (extract all, chose c:\temp as the destination).
[Update - Windows security settings may prevent these files from being used, please open Computer, type c:\temp in the address bar and then right click on each of the dll files and select Properties.  If there is a message in Properties indicating the file was downloaded from the internet and may be blocked then unblock the file before proceeding.]
Next click back in the administrative DOS prompt and type the following: (stuff in green is comments, do not type them...)
DIR *.dll (this is just to verify the files are there, it should list hpvdb720.dll, hpvdb820.dll and hpwm5db1.dll and perhaps others.)
Net stop spooler (makes sure the files are not in use.)
Copy  hpvdb720.dll  C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this is for the Deskjet 710/712/720/722)
Copy  hpvdb820.dll  c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (this covers the Deskjet 820 and 822)
    Copy  hpwm5db1.dll  c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3(this covers the Deskjet 1000)
    Net Start Spooler
    Exit
[Edit - note that these DLL files will already be in the directory.  You will get a warning asking if it is OK to overwrite the files, say "yes".]
At this point the patch is installed and ready to print.
Note that the printers here do not support USB connections, they have only parallel ports. [Edit - if your printer does have a parallel port use it, this will likely be much less problematic than using a USB-Parallel converter.]   If you use a USB-parallel converter make sure it is supported in your operating system.  The following posts are flagged with USB-parallel cables that are reported to work in Windows 7.   A driver is required for the USB-parallel converter in addition to the driver for the printer.  For supported converters this is typically supplied automatically in Windows 7.  Note:  the proper port to select for the USB-Parallel converters is often USB001:.  I have heard of some cases where the port was USB002: or LPT3: as well.  If the port you are using does not succeed (after applying the patch) try changing the port by going to Start, Devices and Printers, right click on your printer and select Printer Properties, then click on the Ports tab.

    Hi,
patch 10 for SAP GUI 6.40 and version 8 of the screenreader extension have been published on service.sap.com and ftp.sap.com.

    Hi John,
short update: I talked to the service market place team, and unfortunately the software corner is not a standard SMP site, so the nice features you know from other pages are not available, and won't be in the near future.
I will post news about new patches here, but as mentioned this is not part of the official workflow and may not always happen, for example when I'm on vacation

  • PATCH Oracle RAC 10gR2 DB on Linux

    Hello,
I want to patch 2 node RAC 10gR2 DB (Standard Edition) on SLES 11. I have patched signle instance DB with OPATCH, but never patched RAC DB, kind of very nervous. I am not able to find generally and also from MOS regarding step by step process to patch RAC 10gR2 on SLES OS. In the readme of the Patch, I do not find step by step detail of how to ....regarding RAC. Following is the information regarding the current setup, please have a look and suggest/help me, as it's a production DB and I'm little afraid to Patch it.
I've also other general questions please, like:
    - In RAC, how many homes are normall there to patch? DB,CRS, Grid?
    - Clusterware (CRS) and ASM has same home?. Are they same?. Pathing any one means pathing both ASM and CRS, right?

    Hello,
    Thanks for the reply.
What I noticed before that as ASM-GI has same home, so I need to apply one patch for that. After your reply I am planning to do it like that only.
As I have posted in my main post the versions of patches to apply for Oracle Home. That seems somehow clear to me what to apply and, etc. Can you please suggest which Patch or how to find/select next patch version to apply to ASM/GI home please?
When we select PATCH ADVISOR from MOS, for example in case of DB home, I select DB,Enterprise,Standard editio,9i,10g,11,d, OS Linux-x64,10.2.0.4. DB,OS version etc is OK, but I am confused what to select from that first drop down menu in order to select patch version for ASM/GI ??
    @onedba
I am planning to Patch not upgrade.
    Thanks and regards.

  • Regarding SLA Patch

    Hi All,
I wanted to Know whether there is some specific patch related to SLA (Sub-ledger Accounting) that needs to be applied before upgrade. Is it something which is related to pre-upgrade activity.
Also, can the SLA patch be applied after / in between the upgrade activties. If we perform the normal upgrade then the SLA feature will not be available.
Would be great if some one help in actvites related to SLA feature which is now available in R12. Also would appreciate some doc's which can be shared with related to functional & technical activities to be perfomed.

I have 5+ version of Bootcamp assistant, and complete a Windows7 SP1. Although after the completion network adaptors, the Universal Bus and bunch of drivers are missing. • Roll Up patch

    Hello,
What does roll up patch mean ?
    BR

    Hi Kashif;
Rollup Patch (RUP): An aggregation of patches that may be at the functional level, or at a specific product/family release level. For example, a Flexfields rollup patch contains all the latest patches related to Flexfields at the time the patch was created. A Marketing Family 11.5.10 rollup patch contains all the latest Marketing patches released since, and applicable to 11.5.10Your answer very similar wiht Hussein Sawwan's previous post :)
difference between Rollup patch and family pack
    Anyway :) @poster
The R11/R12 RUPs combine error corrections, statutory/regulatory updates, and functionality enhancements that were made available after the initial release of Oracle E-Business Suite R11/R12
Each R11/12 RUP is cumulative and delivers system updates released in all prior R11/12 RUPs as well as one-off patches released in between RUPs (for example, RUP3 includes the system updates delivered in RUP1 and RUP2 plus any one-off fixes).

  • SLA Pre-Upgrade program - Post steps

    Dear All,
We upgrade our oracle applications to R12.1.3 from 11.5.10.2. Before upgrade, we applied the patch patch 5233248 and ran the concurrent program with the below values
Migrate all sets of books: Yes
    Start Date: “01/01/1976”: Jan-76
    End Date : (Left Blank)
The above concurrent in 11i insance took only 1 minute. Is this normal ?. There are many steps mentioned in the document R12.0 and R12.1: FAQ for the SLA Upgrade: SLA Pre-Upgrade, Post-Upgrade, and Hot Patch [ID 604893.1] .
Since I already mentioned to upgrade all GL during the upgrade process itself by mentioning the above parameters in the concurrent program. Do I have to still do anything on this regard after the upgrade

    Mohammed,
I am not an expert although I have significant experience upgrading the database and applications from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 and 12.1.3 in both test and production environments. The following are a few thoughts as you continue down the upgrade path:
Patch 8773483 will need to be installed in pre-install mode along with a number of other pre-install mode patches. If you haven't looked at the following note you will need to since it contains information you need:
Oracle Applications Release Notes, Release 12.1.1 [ID 798258.1]
Pay particular attention to the README.txt instructions for patch 9179588 since it wants you to merge other patches with it before applying.
Another note you need to be aware of, especially if you want reconcile past the 6 month window used for accrual write offs during the upgrade, is:
R12.0 and R12.1: FAQ for the SLA Upgrade: SLA Pre-Upgrade, Post-Upgrade, and Hot Patch [ID 604893.1]
Other good sources of information for financials are:
Impact of R12 Design in Procure To Pay Accounting Flow [ID 429105.1]
Projects Uptake of the TCA Architecture in Release 12 [ID 417511.1] <--- AR/TCA (HZ) table join information that is very good
Payments In Order Management In R12 [ID 1164613.1]
If you don't have XLE and ZX currently licensed in your 11.5.10.2 instance, you will need to license them so the tax conversion runs successfully.
If you have legal entity identifications that are more than 30 characters, you will want to be aware of the size limitation imposed on the column LEGAL_ENTITY_IDENTIFIER in the table XLE.XLE_ENTITY_PROFILES, The following job will fail if the combined values exceed the LEGAL_ENTITY_IDENTIFIER column length which is shortened in R12:
    xleupg01.sql
There are lots of potential pitfalls in an R12 upgrade. You simply need to test, test, and test again everything you use, read the RCD's and R12 documentation as much as possible, etc ... Having said that, there are many good things about an R12 upgrade too, from both the functional and technical perspectives.
