Post an asset revaluation by ABAWN transaction

Hi!
I'd like to post an asset revaluation by ABAWN transaction but error message AAPO106 appears
"Data inconsistency: mandatory posting depr. area not posted"
"You tried to post to asset  XXXXXXXX-0 using transaction type ZZ1. According to its Customizing settings, values are required in depreciation area 01, but the current transaction does not supply any values".
Procedure for System Administration
Check your Customizing settings to see if transaction type ZZ1 was limited to only certain depreciation areas
but transaction type ZZ1 is not limited in OAYA transaction
Could you help me to solve the question?
Thanks
Giovanna

Hi,
you have to create a transaction type based on transaction type group 89. You find the documentation in the SAP Help Portal for posting new valuation.

  • Depreciation forecast after Asset revalution with AR29N inconsistent

There is a need to revalue assets on a certain date in the current
fiscal year. We did all the steps necessary to carry out revaluation
using Transaction AR29N, using the "new valuation of an asset"
function. After the reval the asset master was updated with the new Depreciation key and new useful life/dep start date.
SAP calculated the forecasted depreciation incorrectly in the
first few attempts, but after some testing it worked fine and we posted
periodic depreciation. This worked as expected. Using the same settings
in the same company code a new asset was revalued with a new value
date. The problem has returned although nothing was changed in the
system, The fore casted depreciation does not make sense.
    Examples:
    1. Asset Original Value at FY start - $100 with a planned dep of $1 for
the remaining useful life. Depreciation for 4th FP posted. Asset revalued
with a value date corresponding to FYP 04/2011. Revalued at $1200 with
new useful life of 24 months and new Dep start date corresponding to
start FYP 03. Expected depreciation PM is $50. This scenarion worked
    fine.
    2. Asset Original Value at FY start - $100 with a planned dep of $1 for
the remaining useful life. Depreciation for 4 FP posted. Asset revalued
with a value date corresponding to FYP 05/2011. Revalued at $2400 with
new useful life of 24 months and new Dep start date corresponding to
start FYP 03. Expected depreciation PM is $100. SAP shows forecasted
monthly depreciation of $108 per month

    Hi Manish,
Are revaluated values appearing correctly in asset explorer (AW01N) both APC and depreciation.
If no then I would suggest to run AFAR for recalculate depreciation.
    Thanks!!!

  • Control posting asset revaluation

    Hi All,
Anyone knows what transaction type I can use to do asset revaluation WITH depreciation back ?
I'm using AR29N , and the transaction type always ask me to chose the control posting "Without Depreciation Write-Back"
    Regards,
    -M-

    Hi M,
There is a difference in the posting logic between the function "with depreciation write-back" respectively "without depreciation write-back".
In principle if you choose with depreciation write back the report will post the revaluation directly to G/L (for realtime postings areas).
Whereas the standard revaluation function respectively ABAWN without depreciation write-back posts first to the asset module only, and the G/L entries will be created by the depreciation.
You can find some helpful information about the posting of new valuation
amounts in the SAP Help Portal at: http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/54/ed813ee3d32b44e10000000a114084/content.htm
If you want to post with depreciation write-back, you have to create a  new transaction type in customizing which is based on transaction type group 89. Within the link I provided above there is also one chapter "Configuring Revaluation Transaction Types".
I hope this helps you further.
    Kind regards,
    Brigitte

  • Posting Surplus on asset revaluation

    Good day all,
Please can someone advise on how to go about posting surplus on asset revaluation. I mean the steps/stages, the tcodes/menu path etc.
    Thanks

    hi dear
see config steps are as follows, if you maintain revaluation in same depreciation area i.e. 01:
1.(OADB) in the dep area 01 mark fields, revaluation, transfer of reserve and rev ord dep as all values allowed.
    2. (OAYR)in specify intervell and posting rule mark revaluation button on.
    3. (AO90)assign the gl account in the asset classes which have to be revalued in assign g/l accounts area.
    4. (AUFW) if going for one time rev .give seperate rev measure.in define rev measure screen.
    5.  post revaluation in abaw.
    6.  run revaluation posting in ar29.
now after run the asset balances will increase but for the g/l balances to reflect reval amount .during depreciation run the revaluation amount hit. you can post surplus or defecit in ABAW .

  • Asset Revaluation issue - Reval of Current year depreciation

    Hi All,
We are setting up the system to do asset revaluation for our company code in South America. My client wants to
revalue the assets from Jul'09 to Dec'09.
    1) We have maintained inflation indexes for the last day of each period in the year 2009.
    2) Maintained Posting Variants and Time Base and Exposure variant accordingly for all the periods and year as 9999.
    3) Assigned the appropriate Time base and exposure variant in the period control method.
    4) Maintained the Revaluation Areas:
    a) Area 01 - Book
    b) Area 02 - Inflation Adj (Revaluation Area)
    c) Area 03 - Derived (Area 01+Area02)
    d) Area 22 - Infla Adj in Group Currency
    5) Maintained the Revaluation key and assigned it to the relevant Asset classes by Depreciation Area (02 and 22)
    6) Maintained the transaction types as below:
897 - Revaluation (downward) current year
892 - Revaluation (upward) current year
891 - Revaluation (downward) prior year
893 - Revaluation (upward) prior year
    7) Maintained the Inflation Method and last revaluation date on Inflation method as 01.07.2009.
    8) We have also activated the Revaluation after useful life.
With this setup in the system I took a test asset which had depreciation postings for the period 08 and 09. When I
ran the J1AI - Revaluation (Inflation) Program in the test run mode the outcome was that the APC value of the asset
was being revalued and Revaluation of Prior year Depreciation but not the Revaluation of current year
Depreciation. Can anyone tell me why current year Depreciation is not being revalued.
Am I doing something wrong process-wise or configuration-wise?
Please help me in resolving this issue.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi Rajesh Phanibatla,
I've always happened that Issue. But what I realized is that although the program output (J1AI) does not show you nothing on "Rev of CY Depn", the system calculates. This only happens for the first month of adjustment (In your case, Aug 08).
Try checking the test asset with the Assets Explorer (AW01N) just after running the adjust (J1AI) in background process (NO test mode) at 31.08.2009. See if the area Area 02 - Inflation Adj (Revaluation Area) on "Posted values" tab shows something different to zero on month 08 with "Planned" status.
Then, for the adjustment of the following months, the output of the program will show you the "Rev of CY Depn" value.
If you want, let me know your email to show you a presentation (PowerPoint in spanish) that has screens that I captured on that occasion that happened to me.
I hope this is your case and can help you that I said.
    Good Look!
PD: Sorry for my bad english :S

  • AR29N Depreciation not completely posted for asset

    Hi,
I am trying to do an asset revaluation using  transaction AR29N
However, the following message appears when the transaction is executed
    Diagnosis
Depreciation still has to be posted for asset.....
    System Response
    The asset cannot be processed
    Procedure
Execute a depreciation posting run for the period 001/2011
I have already executed a depreciation run using transaction code AFAB for the period 001/2011. When I go to Asset Explorer AW01N under the posted values tab I am seeing depreciation posted for the period 01 for the year 2011.
Therefore, I do not understand why the system will still issue a message execute a depreciation posting run.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Niketa

    Hi Bernhard,
    Thanks for replying.
I checked both the SAP notes you recommended and other SAP notes that relate to asset revaluation and still was not able to find any one that matched my problem.
Is there anything else you will be able to suggest ?

  • Asset Revaluation: Depreciation calculation not hiting revaluation accounts

    Dear All,
I have to revaluate assets. I have done the configuration as follows:
    1. Assignment of Balance sheet and Depreciation accounts for revaluation.
    2. Configured depreciation key so that it will calculate the depreciation on the replacement values.
    3. Selected 'check box' for 'Post Revaluation' in posting rules for my company code.
    4. Defined the depreciation area for posting of acquisition and production cost and depreciation.
    5. Selected 'All values allowed' for 'revaluation' in required depreciation area (01).
I am posting the revaluation on the asset through transaction 'AB01', after that in the depreciation posting run an accounting document is getting generated for revaluation on APC. The entry is as follows :-
    70 Revaluation acquis. and production cost a/c    x x x
    50 Offsetting a/c revaluation APC                                    x x x
This entry is correct as per the revaluation scenario but, no accounts are getting posted which are assigned in 'Account assignment for revaluation on depreciation' i.e.
    1. Revaluation accumulated ordinary depreciation a/c.
    2. Offsetting account revaluation ordinary depreciation.
System is not postign values on 'revaluation of  depreciation' to these accounts. System is  posting the depreciation revaluation amounts to normal depreciation accounts i.e.
    1. Expenses a/c for ordinary depreciation.
2.Accumulated depreciation account for ordinary depreciation.
The required 'depreciation revaluation' accounts are not getting posted (in any period depreciation run).
Is there any other revaluation configuration that, I am missing here or is there any other way to post to these two 'revaluation on ord. depreciation accounts.' Can anyone shade light on this problem.

    Dear Rohit,
Thank you very much for your reply. I followed the same procedure posted by you. While executing AR29, system is giving following error.
Revaluation data does not agree with date of depreciation posting*
    Message no. APERB023
    Diagnosis
You want to execute the revaluation posting in period 011/2010. This requires that this period was the last period posted by the depreciation posting run. No other period may be posted after that. The posting run for this period is also not allowed to be still outstanding. According to the log table, the last run posted was 009/2011.
The asset value date of the asset is 01.04.2011 and have to revaluate this asset in current posting perid (9). The fiscal year is  from 'Aprl-Mar.
Could you please let me know the following things:
    1. Is it necessay to select the checkbox for 'Post automatically' in the offsetting accounts.
    2. I have created one transaction type 'Z80', it has an account assignment as 'Debit transction'. The posting type options selected in this transaction type are as follows
    a. Post gross --> Yes
    b. Do not post to affiliated company --> Yes
    3. I should use the same transaction type/configure a new one or use any other std. transaction type in 'AR29'?
    4. Is it the case that system takes current date as posting /revaluation date in transaction AR29, because from the error it seems that it is considering the curent date.
    5. Which options from the 'control data for posting' should be selected from ' New valuation of an asset' tab page of 'AR29?
    a.With depreciation write back.
    b. W/out Dep. write vback
    6. If i change the inputes in AR29 transaction, system is giving the following error:
    ''No records were selected''
    7. What should be the correct inputs in transaction 'AR29'
    Please help.

  • Error at the time of PO creation - Asset is investment measure, transaction

    Hi all,
When am assigning the Investment Order (order for AUC) against Asset at the time of creation of Asset PO, the system throws the following error:
Asset is investment measure, transaction type not allowed
    Message no. AK005
    Diagnosis
Asset 1700000 0 that is to be posted is an investment measure. You are not allowed to post transactions that affect acquisition value using the current transaction.
    Procedure
Check the asset and transaction type 120.

System expects you to enter the Investment Order rather than the asset as account assignment object in the PO.

  • Message no. AK005 - Asset is investment measure, transaction type not allow

    Dear All,
I am getting following error while transfering Investment AuC to Main Asset.
Message no. AK005 - Asset is investment measure, transaction type not allow
I searched the Forum and got some input.., but in that I have a clarification.
Please see my doubt and the forum input.
    Internal Order as Investment Measure:
Can you explain me Step 10. Settle the amounts to Main Asset from AuC(Prcg type: Full) - KO88 once again.
How we can give the Receiver Main Asset master in KO88. In KO88 we can only provide the Internal Order. But that Internal Order is already settled to AuC in Step 8.
    Please guide me.
    Thanks.

Re: Settlement of cost center to final asset ?
    Posted: Oct 27, 2009 11:40 AM
    Hi,
Are you doing any settlement using the AUC asset ?
Normal practice is to Create an Auc Asset and settle cost to Auc. Once the asset is ready for use, finally settle the Auc to final asset.
This can be done in two ways like - line item settlement / investment measure.
Below are steps in two scenarios :
    Internal Order as Investment Measure:
    1. Define the AuC Asset Class (with investment measure) - OAOA
    2. Define the Asset Class u2013 for Main Asset - OAOA
    3. Define Investment Profile - OITA
    a. Assign the AuC Asset Class (Step-1) in the investment profile
    4. Assign Investment Profile to Model Order - OITA
    5. Define Order Type (Investment) - KOT2
    a. Settlement Profile - OKO7
    b. Maintain Allocation Structures - OKO6
    c. Planning Profile - OKOS
    d. Budget Profile - OKOB
    6. Create an Internal Order - KO01
    a. With the Investment Profile (Step-2)
    b. AuC automatically created by the system using Asset Class given in the Investment Profile
    7. Post the amounts to IO - FB01
    8. Settle the amounts to AuC from IO (Prcg type: Automatic) - KO88
    9. Create the Main Asset - AS01
    10. Settle the amounts to Main Asset from AuC(Prcg type: Full) - KO88
    AuC using Line Item Settlement:
    1. Define the AuC Asset Class (with Line Item Settlement) - OAOA
    2. Define the Asset Class u2013 for Main Asset - OAOA
    3. Define Order Type (Overhead) - KOT2
    4. Create an AuC-Asset (using Step-1 Asset Class) - AS01
    5. Create an Internal Order - KO01
    a. Assign the AuC u2013 Asset in Settlement Rule in IO
    6. Post the amounts to IO - FB01
    7. Settle the amounts to AuC from IO - KO88
    8. Create Main Asset (using Step-2 Asset Class) - AS01
    9. Assign the Main Asset in IO (Step-5) - KO02
    10. Settlement AuC u2013 Line Item List - AIAB
    11. Settlement AuC - Receiver - AIBU
    VVR

    nms,
Your message is not very clear - while you have mentioned at what stage are you getting the above-mentioned error message, you haven't mentioned exactly what you were trying to do. The fact that you are getting this error is a straight-forward indication that you are attempting to do something that SAP does expect.
However, answering your query about how to use KO88, you have to settle the AuC to a FA (fixed asset, with asset class other than AuC ), as that will close the open AuC, transfer the value from the AuC to the FA and from this point onwards, all transactions will happen to this FA. Your statement "in KO88, we can only provide the Internal Order" is incorrect.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Gulshan

  • No additional posting to asset

We have this message when try to make a payment for the transaction F110 or F-53
    No additional posting to asset
    Message no. AA444
    Diagnosis
A downpayment was already posted to the asset 1001000004 0 in the currently displayed document.  Additional posting to the same asset in this document is not possible for technical reasons.
    Procedure
Combine the two downpayments into one.
In the transaction F-47 we capture a down payment request that is reference to purchase document, and this document is reference to asset. This down payment have more than one lines or position.
We look for a solution in Market Place and find the NOTE 562264, here show us the same error, but is only for the 4.6c version and we have the 5.0.  This note recommended a change in the program LAMDPU10, we check this program with the ABAP people but they say that this change isnu2019t appear in the 5.0 SAP version.
The solution given for this people was make 2 down payments but this mean more work for the acounts payable (AP) people, or combine the two downpayments into one but we lost the relation  downpayment with the purchse document position.
Do you please help us with this situation?

Refer OSS note 6061. Here is the text from the notes-->
Symptom: Several down payment requests exist for a vendor that are assigned to the same asset and are to be cleared with a payment run. => The vendor payment is rejected with error message AA444.
    Additional key words: Down payment
Cause and prerequisites: The system rejects a multiple account assignment to assets in one down payment document because of the offsetting of down payments in foreign currency areas has been revised and restricted.
Solution: Post down payments that are assigned to the same asset manually and also create the
    payment medium manually.

  • Assets Revaluation

    Hello,
    I need some help, please!
I have to do this kind of revaluation:
    E.g.: aquisition value = 50000; useful life = 10 years
            depreciation per year = 5000
    After 2 years: the revaluated value = 64000;
                        the accumulated depreciation = 10000
                        the book value = 50000 - 10000 = 40000
It  means that we have an increase in asset value = 64000 - 40000 = 24000
Now I have to do the posting:
24000      asset  value  = reserves from revaluation  24000
but I want to keep historically the aquisition value(50000) and the revaluation(24000).
The remaining life is 8 years and the new depreciation is 64000/ 8 = 8000
After 1 year:  the new revaluated value of this asset = 30000
                        the accum. deprec. = 8000
                        the book value = 64000 - 8000 = 56000
    It means that we have a depreciation = 56000 - 30000 = 26000
    So, I have to post:
         ______________________________ =   asset value  26000
         24000   reserves from revaluation
           2000   expensive from depreciation
                         / impairment of assets
I want to keep also the aquis. value and all revaluation values.
Well, can somebody tell me what should be the solution? (I need different revaluation area, etc)
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I don't know your set up.
In this situation I will use 3 depreciation area.
    01 Normal creating postings
10 Values from 01 and the revaluation Statistical one
    20 Area 10 - 01 creating postings for the differences between 01 and 10.
Don' forget to allow negative values for area 20 (and perhaps 10)
