Post dvcpro hd 1080i60 clip to internet???

I want to post a short 6 minute piece that i've edited in dvcpro hd 1080i60 ( 1280x1080 frame size) clip to the internet. When I use the H.264 compressor (the setting i usually use with DV pieces) it comes out as a square...even when i tell it keep the dimensions with letterbox.
How can I get this piece up on the internet with the right dimensions and a managable file size?

Hey folks, this is my first post.
I'm trying to edit a multi camera show via multiclip in the timeline and it keeps giving me the red "needs render" line. The clip plays fine in the viewer and the sequence settings match the clip settings.
It's DVCPRO HD 1080i60 footage. I'm connected eSATA to a Lacie d2 Quadra via an express card adapter on my Mac Book Pro 17". OSX 10.6.2 Final Cut 6.06 Is it a matter of having to stripe the drive for more speed?
I'm working around it by editing all cameras into the timeline and match framing wherever I want to cut and editing onto another track, but I love doing multiclip editing. It's much faster.

DVCPro HD 1080i60 codec mismatch in CS5

Hello,
I am trying to render in After Effects to a playback device in my TV station called the Omneon, which specifies it wants DVCPRO HD 1080i60.
In CS3, this worked perfectly, rendering out a 16x9 render at 1920x1080. However, now that we’ve upgraded to CS5, I get a ‘mismatch’ warning and the render ends up squished horizontally. The warning reads: "Warning: Output file will be resized from 1920x1080 to 1280x1080 to meet format constraints." Can I render a composition as DVCPRO HD 1080i60 and force it to be 1920×1080, not 1280×1080? Any help would be great. Thank you.

Yes, thank you, Tim! That is very clear. It doesn't make me like it, though! I did a test and it looks normal in the place I am rendering it to..so even though it looks odd to me, it still works.

The mismatch warning is correct. The DVCPRO HD 1080i60 specification is 1280x1080 at 1.5 PAR. If you want to put 1920x1080 into your QuickTime file then you will need to choose a different codec, one which supports that size. (Note that none of the DVCPRO HD codecs support that size.)
Apple's documentation details the different DVCPRO HD flavors pretty well. ( I assume you're using their codec on a Mac with Final Cut Studio installed.)

So that leaves the question of "Why did After Effects CS3 let you stuff 1920x1080 into a codec that doesn't support that size, while After Effects CS5 won't?"
Put simply, QuickTime can be lazy, and After Effects CS5 is a little smarter than its predecessors.
Individual codecs can advertise to applications what dimensions, frame rate, PAR, etc. they will accept. However, QuickTime itself does not necessarily enforce these restrictions. When you rendered a QuickTime movie from After Effects CS3 and CS4, it talked directly to the QuickTime API. Because QuickTime doesn't enforce the format constraints, After Effects didn't complain if the constraints were violated.
After Effects CS5 doesn't use the QuickTime API directly. There is no 64-bit version of QuickTime, so in order for Adobe's 64-bit applications to write QuickTime files we had to write an intermediate 32-bit application that could talk to QuickTime. It's called Adobe QT32 Server, and it runs silently in the background whenever After Effects CS5, Premiere Pro CS5, or Adobe Media Encoder CS5 are running. When QT32 Server opens a codec to write files, it enforces the advertised constraints. There are cases where not enforcing the constraints will cause errors or a bad render, so the bottom line is that if a codec tells you that it only supports certain sizes or frame rates, it's best to believe it.
Thus, when Apple's DVCPRO HD 1080i60 codec tells QT32 Server that it wants 1280x1080, 1.5 PAR, 29.97fps, field separated video, that's the only format QT32 Server will give it. After Effects will transform the comp frames to those standards before QT32 Server writes the file. The warning dialog is there to tell you what's happening.

Dropped Frame Errors When Time Remapping DVCPRO HD 720p60 Clips

Wondering if this is common due to FW800 throughput limitations or abnormal behavior.
I'm editing several DVCPROHD 720p60 projects and cutting them in FCStudio is like butter on a Dual 2 G5 connected to a FW800 G-Raid. I needed to time remap a clip and lo and behold, some dropped frame errors. Recreated and retimed several times with the same error. Dropping down the playback quality fixes this but wondering if it would be a normal occurance to see this with DVCPRO HD footage.
Any thoughts?

It may be normal... a lot depends on which machine you're using, but If it drops frames, render it...

Importing movie clips from internet

I am trying to import some movie clips from the internet. Any suggestions? I tried saving on MAC HD and adding to iSquint, but when I import into iMovie, there isn't anything there. I have the same problem when I try to import clips from a movie (not video, a real movie) I have saved in iTunes. Any suggestions there?

Click File > Open URL.
Copy/Paste the URL of the video into the box.
Click on File > Export to QuickTime.
Use 'Apple Intermediate Codec'.
Convert the movie and save to a folder on your desktop.
Open iMovie and click File > Import Movies...
Navigate to the folder.
Create a new event, name it and import.

That issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.

Ok..So you mean still cannot accessing the website with Internet connection? Try to use nslookup in command prompt to check whether can resolve domain name correctly. Also make sure you can ping the router's LAN IP from computer.
If not, you can try to use the following DNS servers from OpenDNS.com:
208.67.220.220
208.67.222.222

Video Clips from Internet

Hey all!
I was blessed to recieve a free trial to a site called videoblocks.com where I can download videos to use for my project for a week. I'm trying to get the most out of the opportunity and get the videos I need in my project, but I need advice on the best format to work with. Here are my sequence settings for my project:

I've been downloading the MOV version, which seems to be working great. I'm just not sure if it will cause any problems later on. Should I convert it in Compressor or will the clips be fine? The project will be shown at the local theater and sold on DVD.

either format will need to be converted to work propery in fcp. Not sure if h264 mp4's will convert using compressor (the best choice in my opinion) to prores 422. If compressor doesn't work, use mpegstreamclip.
Pretty sure the photojpeg should convert in compressor to prores 422 without an issue.
If the clips have audio that you will be using make sure that the audio is converted to uncompressed 48k 16 bit.

Post 10.6.4 Install, Slow Internet

After installing 10.6.4 on my Macbook, the internet now seems very sluggish. When I click on a link, such as a link from google, it often hesitates for quite a long time, or sometimes wont even open the page at all. I have to click on a different link to get the internet going again, and then come back to the link I actually wanted. It is very strange, as it never did this in 10.6.3. Should I just reinstall 10.6.3 and see if the issue is resolved?

TS1559 none of your resolutions do work... problem came out after 1 year and 5-6 days after i bought the 4s (kind of strange)... hundreds of similar posts are there all over the internet; it has to be a product defect!!! AND NOW??

i look forward to get a free exchange or at least a free repair service to solve this problem! or maybe it's possible to solve it by releasing some kind of update?? but please do not disappoint all the 4s customers with the same problem as mine, by letting them pay for something which isn't their fault.

WHAT PROBLEM? You still have said absolutely nothing about what is wrong! Nobody here can possible help you solve a technical issue if you won't even say what it is that is wrong in the first place.
I have zero problems with iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 and iPad 4, and many millions of other iOS 7 users on all sorts of iOS devices are also not having any problems at all, so nobody here has any way of knowing what your problem is if you will not tell us.
If you have a hardware problem and are out of warranty, then yes, Apple will charge you for an out of warranty replacement.
And no, you cannot downgrade iOS - Apple has never supported doing that.

Is there a way to set a poster frame for a clip? It would be very useful to actually see an images instead of 50 solid blue clips.
