Hello SAVAN,
You use SM53 for VMC administration. There are bunch of other transactions too. Here is the SAP Help link for [VMC Admin|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm60/helpdata/en/d7/b3d5a737924adab3d075cc34ee9718/content.htm].
Also, see these Notes for VMC activation and stuff like that.
[Note 854170 - Activating the component "VM Container"|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/854170]
Also, little [more info on VMC|https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012003146900000723802005E/vmc2004s_en.pdf] - very useful document is available as a PDF file in this link.
Hope this is very helpful.

We have just started with portal installation in one our client's place. I wud like to know wat would be the next step after installation. what kind of configuration will be needed for any company in general. The requirements for the portal project in that company has not been mentioned as yet.
    thanks

    Hi chan,

  • DCNM Post-installation config: SSL set-up

    <p>
I am a novice at this software.  I have two servers on different networks.  The software is installed and is answering its URL from the network but recently, I was required to change the hostnames and obtain new SSL certs.  The DCNM software is holding onto the older certs even though the new ones are installed to IIS.  I am looking for a solution to reconfiguring the SSL to use the new certs for HTTPS.  I got into the the Java Keytool thing and got REALLY turned around.  DCNM uses Tomcat or IIS?  Anyway, the old certs are still being used by the software.  That has to change.<br>

As we see the outputs above for the 2 commands "srvctl" and "sqlplus", my questions are:
First, why cannot retrieve database racdb ?

Third, does my RAC database installation have problems ?

  • Beehive post-Installation problem

Hi, I'm istalling Oracle Beehive 2.1.0.0 in a Oracle Linux 5.
First I installed Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production, then guided by I installed Oracle Beehive, I followed the post-installation procedures http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16671_01/bh.200/e16641/what_you_need_to_know.htm#BIJGGFJH, in the first step (Oracle Beehive Database Post-Installation Procedures - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16671_01/bh.200/e16641/db_post.htm#BHAJIEID) I make correctly (at least) the first two steps, in the third one no error show but if I check configuration with the “list_bootstrap_configuration” command what I see is that the desired password is in the schema name field.
After this, I can only use some of the commands, for example with activate_configuration or list_ports I receive:
beectl: command failed. See the log file "/u01/app/beehive/product/2.0.1.0.0/beehive_1/beehive/logs/beectl/2012.06.15/beectl_shell_17_06_04+0300.txt" for more details.

Even if I try to clear the data given in previous steps with “clear_proposed_configuration” command I received the error.
I checked and there are 6 patches, but it seems none of them fix the problem, althought I couldn’t find from where to download. Also In the contents of the installation of Beehive, one point (out of the installation against database) it’s about installing Oracle Beekeaper, maybe that will help, but as far as I know it’s only a UI for Beehive.
(http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16671_01/bh.200/e16649/beectl.htm#list_bootstrap_configuration here is the documentation about beectl)
Maybe the problem is that I'm installing in a 64 bits and documentation of Beehive says that only 32 bits is supported, but I needed to try because our client machine is a 64bit Linux .. any other suggestion?

for Instant Messaging, I believe you need to review Chapter 25 (Configuring XMPP) of the Installation Guide.
At least you need to do a
beectl modify_property --component _XmppService name DomainNames value <domain>
    beectl activate_configuration
    beectl restart --component BEEAPP_<instance>.<host>
For any user partaking in IM, you need to define an IM Address, as this is needed to provision the user to the XMPP Service.
If you master your user in an external directory, you can map existing mail addresses to also be used as IM Address, e.g.
    <directory_attribute_map_entry>
    <source_object>ENTERPRISE_USER</source_object>
    <AttributeMap>
    <Field>
    <source_attribute>mail</source_attribute>
    <target_attribute>BUSINESS</target_attribute>
    <target_extended_attribute>IM</target_extended_attribute>
    <target_attribute_type>ADDRESS</target_attribute_type>
    </Field>

  • Planning will not render post-installation

Installed Planning 11.1.2.3 in a distributed environment following the EPM_Standard_Deployment docs.
Post-installation, system diagnostics show everything working fine and all other products work correctly.
    Assume Server A and B
Server A - Foundation, Planning installed but not config'd (per documentation)
    Server B - Planning installed and config'd
When attempting to access Planning Administration via Workspace on Server A, I get a "website not found error".
When attempting to access Planning directly on Server B, I get re-routed to the following URL and nothing renders (servername redacted):
    http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/faces/LogOn?_afrLoop=786018129329&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=oo6v2vjl8_4
In the HyS9Planning_epmsystem4-syserr.log, I get the following error:
HspRuntimeException: Registry: Error while retrieving System DB connection info from Registry
I can confirm that the config utility created the HSP tables in the Shared Services schema.
I have also dropped/recreated the HSP tables using the config utility to no avail.
I checked the JDBC connection info for Planning in the weblog admin console, and all looks well.
I've also tried to redeploy the Foundation web server, also to no avail.
Any ideas on where I might have gone wrong? Seems like a pretty obvious error message, but I would have thought that re-configuring Planning would resolve the issue?
    Thank you in advance

    Pablo,
Originally, I noticed the issue on the workspace server (during my post-installation testing) using the default URL for workspace:
    http://server:19000/workspace/index.jsp
This results in a "website cannot be found error" in body of the page.
When that did not work, I decided to try and access Planning directly via the default Planning URL on the Planning server:
    http://server:8300/HyperionPlanning/
Immediately once the browser receives a response from http://serverB:8300/HyperionPlanning, the URL changes to:
    http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/faces/LogOn?_afrLoop=786018129329&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=oo6v2vjl8_4
This, along with the HSP error message about repository credentials leads me to believe that it is unrelated to OHS. Also, I can confirm entries for Planning the OHS file you provided above.

  • My post installation script

#I hope its the right forum to post that in, if not im very sorry!
This here is a script i wrote to automate all the stuff i do after installing arch, i have several computers and it has options for a additional one
    Some important points:
    1) this script is very specific, its made for my computer and my needs, this means that its useful right now only to people who know bash
and will find use in altering it to their own needs, also if someone wants he can make it more general for a wider use
    2) this is one of the first scripts i wrote, it may be that it doesn't implent some of its features in the best way possible
    3) use it at your own risk, if it breaks your system don't blame me please, you should check it before you use it, anyway its meant to be used
on a FRESH arch install, not on a working system.
What the correct script actually does:
The script as stated in the comments does the next things:
    1) First of all it consists of several files, one the "install" file is the actual script, the others are just meant to run the script and split its output to
show both on the terminal and in a file named: /var/log/MySysInstall.log, here is an example of main.install:
    #!/bin/bash
    ./install Main | tee /var/log/MySysInstall.log
in the current script Main in the last row can be replaces with Laptop, Game for computer specific arguments or without argumets for a general install
the two files should be in the same folder, i think it could have been implented with one file but im new to scripting..
    2) The script will ask some general questions to make sure everything is currect, some of the questions and checks in the script are not relevant at all
to anybody other than myself, they usually make sure that i have a samba shared partition running (it could lose connection on wireless).
    3) Adds the archlinux.fr repo, it will be used for yaourt.
    4) The script installs lots of stuff, at first general stuff used by all computers in my house, then stuff based on the argument given in 1)
please inspect the packages and change according to your needs
    5) The script nano's to /etc/yaourtrc
    6) Adds users to the system, change to your users.
    7) It creates my /home/samba share dir if its not created (probably irrelevant to you)
    8) Configures sudo in a nasty way that maybe can damage the sudoers file, delete this line if you dodnt know sudo well enough.
    9) Edits samba if needed, this is the first line in the script that relies on additional files i have on my comp or the samba share (main and game are the same
comp (dual boot of arch32 and 64) and they are the hosts of /home/samba all the other computers will mount it from them, this is why a samba check is not
    present here.).
    10) Adds some commented lines to fstab and nano's it for easier configurations, this is the regular workflow in the script BTW (adding comments to the file
    before editing it)
    11) Helps edit the gpm daemon
    12) Helps to configure alsa
    13) Helps to configure xorg
    14) Does some post install copies of files AND creates a file in my main users home with further instructions, mostly for stuff that needs to be done with xorg runnig
or stuff i was to lasy to add to the script
    15) chowns and sets my regular permissions for user folders
    16) ends the script
    The script itself, ENJOY:

  • Problem during Post Installation in PI 7.1

    Dear All,
While doing post installation steps in PI 7.1 Server all the configurations are taking place in client 001 though we have done the client copy from 001 to 200. All the user id etc are getting created in client 001 only. I have changed the client id in RFC "I18NBackendConnection" and "UMEBackendConnection" in http://<host>:<hport>/nwa then also its taking 001 client only.
Please guide me on how to do the configurations so that everything is done in 200 client.
    Regards,
    NJ

    Nishu,
AYou could have resolved this isuue by running the client copy (SAP note - 1115280) before running the config wizard.
    You have rerun the
client copy step - follow the SAP note 1115280 as is.
and you will be fine... I think you may have to manually change the clients in the Java stack - Jco connection and RFC destination.
    regards,
    Arvind R

  • Post Installation Checklist: AC GRC 10

    Hello All,
We have been told by the Basis team that the GRC PRD is ready for use after they have installed it. Just wanted to know if there is any post installation guide or document that we can refer to, to make sure we have the complete installation and settings before we go for the configuration and import of transports from DEV/QAS. An example of things to check can be:
    1. If the NWBC is working fine.
    2. If all the Connectors are created properly.
    3. If all the relevant BC sets are activated.
We need this information to make a check that when the Basis team hands over the PRD server for us to use, we do not miss out checking anything that can have an adverse affect later when we import our configs and data from DEV or QAS.
Thanks and look forward to hear soon.

    Hi,
You can get more ideas about the same from the installation guide where you can have a look to see which are the important areas that you need to focus on. Broadly, these are:
SP Levels for the key components.
    SICF services
    BC sets.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards,
    Hersh.

  • Problem in XI after post installation.

I have done the post installation for PI, everything was fine and sucessfull,

Let me explain the problem which i faced.
In the transaction SXMB_IFR --> Tool --> Import Design Objects Option, the result displaied is " There is no Objects found ". But as per the document i need to get               " PI7_0_BASIS_6.40_18_00.tpz ".

  • Oracle Post Installation Semaphore Parameters

SYS INFO: Oracle 11g R2 SUSE Linux 11.
The Oracle posting installation guide requires to set the Semaphore Parameters. Here are the steps:
Calculate the minimum total semaphore requirements using the following formula:
sum (process parameters of all database instances on the system) + overhead for background processes + system and other application requirements
How can I determine (where can I find) the process parameters, overhead for background processes and system and other application requirements?
    Thanks

Do you have any special requirements or needs for your database ? If not, the recommended value of 32000 (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24321/pre_install.htm#CIHEGJEH) should suffice.

  • PI (XI 7.0) Installation and Post Installation Guides

We have installed XI 3.0 with previous clients, and we are trying to install XI 7.0 (PI) for a client on Windows 2003 SQL server. We looked for installation documents in the service.sap.com, but we were confused about which documents to follow.
Has anyone installed PI (XI 7.0) from scratch? If yes, could you provide us documents regarding installation and post installation steps. What are the differences in installing XI 3.0 and PI?
    You help is greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Karma

    Hey Karma,
You dont need any guide for PI post installation.
There is a facility in NW 2004s for completing post installation, they provide with templates. you just have to execute the templates and your PI post config is done.
    first execute
    NWD
    and then
    PI templates
After this import the BASIS components into design environment.

    Your help appreciated.
    Thanks,
