Post iOS 5.1 update stuck to the configuration screen

Hi
Since I update to iOS 5.1 directly from my iPhone, the phone is stuck at the Configuration screen. Each time I finish the localization, wifi, I end up on the "Thank you" screen showing that the iphone is fully configured. Then when I hit the "Start using the iPhone" my regular screen with all applications appears for less than a second then disappears and the iphone gets back to the configuration menu...!
I have restored several times with no improvement.
Do you have any idea how to fix that issue ?

Did you happen to have any parental restrictions enabled before you updated, maybe Siri? (Was mentioned on other forums)
Have you tried to restore your iPhone and set it up as a new device?

You'll have to get the SIM card first, you can't set it up without a supported SIM.

You can get no support on this forum. Since you have iOS 7, you're either a developer (in which case, per your NDA you must post in the Developer Forums) or a thief.

You have already done some great troubleshooting on your own. The next step I would suggest would be restoring the iPhone. Please use the attached article to place the iPhone is a special status mode called recovery mode. Restore from recovery mode and test to see if the issue remains or is resolved.

I have an Ipod Tocuh which just had a software update to it. The screen is stuck on the IOS6 screen an I can not go any further.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

ok - my ipod touch is stuck on the itunes screen. Have tried shutting it off, plugging it into my windows computer, and it does recognize that it's there. it goes to restore mode, then immediately goes to restore and update. then back to restore mode, then an error message. don't know where to go from here, any suggestions?

Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine.

Try a hard reset, Press and hold the Power and Home buttons until you see the Apple Logo.
If that doesn't work, force the phone into recovery mode and restore using iTunes:

As I understand it, it seems like a part of the screen isn't visible at the bottom. I would start by quitting all the running apps on the iPhone:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
I would next check to see if an Accessibility option enabled making the screen larger with iTunes:
Use Accessibility features in iOS
Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to any computer with iTunes installed.
In iTunes, select your device.
From the Summary pane, click > Configure Universal Access in the Options section at the bottom.
Select the feature you would like to use and click OK.

Cant get out of the configurator screen after Updating to IOS 5.1.1

Guys,
I have gone through quite a few forums and no one seems to have found a proper resolution for this yet. I upgraded my iphone 3gs to IOS 5.1.1. It rebooted fine but am stuck in the configurator wizard. ITunes throws an error saying "There is no SIM installed in the phone you are trying to activate."
It is a factory unlocked phone. And I see no reason why it should need a specific sim to unlock.
Any ideas??

Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you can't update the iOS device. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.
