I think you need to upgrade firmware on the router using www.linksys.com/download & definately you will be able to go ONLINE!!!!!

Moved AirPort Extreme and now it won't connect to the internet
I have moved my base station on previous occassions with no problems--plug and play if you will.
I just moved it to a new location and while the computers in the house recognize the wireless network with no problems, the base station no longer successfully connects to the internet.
I have plugged my MacBook Pro directly to my cable modem and confirmed that the internet still works perfectly well to the house. Plugging that same cable into the base station does not bring the internet up.
I've used the AirPort Utility to act like I'm starting from scratch.
I've chosen Manual configuration and replicated all the data from the MacBook's succesful hookup with no success.
I have manually reset the base station and tried the above again, no success.
Any other ideas? It seems too coincidental to me that there could be an actual hardware issue (everything was perfect right before I moved it (I know, I know--that begs the question, why'd you move it? I should say everything was good, except for one room in the house received a weak signal, so I wanted it to be more centrally located)) that arose just as I moved it. My guess is I just need a little tweak to a setting or something but I can't say I understand what all this DHCP stuff is about.
Thanks for your help!Most cable modems require that you power them off whenever you switch the Ethernet connection from one device to another. The cable modem will refuse to communicate with the new device if you do not do this.
Did you power off/on the cable modem when you switched the connection from the MacBook Pro to the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS)?
Some cable modems have a reset switch for this task.
Some cable modems have an internal battery which must be removed to do this reset.
Sometimes the cable modem must be left turned off for several hours or even overnight to reset equipment back at the ISP's office. -
I recently moved into a new apartment and can connect with the internet by direct attachment to the cable/internet modem. But when I try to connect the modem to my Airport Express, the Airport just blinks yellow and I cannot get my WiFi. Any suggestions?

My iPad Mini with retina display suddenly will not connect to the Internet. It shows full wifi bars, yet no web pages will load. My Internet is working with all other apple devices in my house. The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

My macbook pro will not connect to the internet via wifi or ethernet connection
Hey guys just a few days ago randomly my 2011 macbook pro stopped connecting to the internet. My girlfriends macbook still connects fine as well as both of our iphones and my tv. Under network in system prefrences wifi is yellow and says self assigned ip, however ethernet says that it is connected with a green light but safari nor any other internet using applications will work. I even tried downloading google chrome from my girlfriends mac book and moved to my computer via flash drive but still no go on the internet. Please help me.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
Step 1
Triple-click the line of text below to select it:
kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Copy (command-C) the selected text to the Clipboard. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered. You can do that by copy-and-paste as well. Omit the final line ending in “$”. No typing is involved in this step.

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. It won't be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.

Remember, steps 1-5 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.

Can no longer connect to the internet on my hp pavilion hpe h8-1360t cto desktop.
I recently purchased and setup an HP Pavilion HPE h8-1360t CTO desktop computer with Windows 7.
I have a broadband connection and am able to connect to my wireless network and internet with other computers.
About 3 days ago I loaded Blue Coat K9 web protection and have not been able to connect to the internet since.
I removed K9 and rebooted, but I still can't connect.
I moved the ethernet cable to my old computer, which has K9 on it and I connect to the internet just fine.

Since updating my ipad to iOS 6 a few days ago i can't seem to get onto the internet, the app store or itunes, nor can i update to iOS7!! I sent an email to apple support and they said we don't handle these issues and redirected me back to the help forums which i have already seen and tried everything other people have suggested and nothing has worked (changing date, signing in/out of itunes etc). When i go to app store the screen is blank, in itunes it just keeps saying loading but never gets anywhere and same with the internet! When i go to settings to update to iOS 7.0.4 it says software update unavailable, try again later. Not sure what to do now. Nothing works, can't use my apps, facebook, music etc. Will contact apple again and try get some answers. But thanks for any info

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I created a book on iPhoto. I click on the buy button, and I get a message that says Connecting with a moving blue striped rectangle. I am connected to the internet and I have made books before without any problems. I have tried for the past two weeks at various times and I get this same message each time. Any ideas about what is going on?
First confirm that you can create a PDF file of your book as described in this Apple document: iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it. Post back with the results.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

'You are not connected to the internet'...oh yes I am
I am running a late 2007 iMac with 10.5.1. Things had all been going very smoothly but a while ago (not sure how long...maybe a month?) when using Safari and I try to access a site I get the message that I am not connected to the internet.
There doesn't appear to any problem with my net connection as other programs carry on just fine. Also I have found that as soon as this happens if I try to visit an internal IP (e.g. my routers admin page) then it will do something that means I can access websites again. If I don't do this and just try refreshing, it often takes 6-7 refreshes before it starts working again.
My iMac is connected via gigabit ethernet to a 5-port Netgear gigabit switch which is then connected via a 100 megabit ethernet connection to a Netgear ADSL router.
If anyone has any suggestions to solve this I'd be grateful.

-OliI think I may have figured it out. I have been reading other threads all over the place and DNS kept coming up. I couldn't understand how this could be an issue, but here is what I did. In my network settings my routers IP address was set as the DNS server. This made a lot of sense, but I decided to change it. I reset the DNS server to my ISP's IP address. I then reset Safari. As soon as I did that everything started moving MUCH faster and I haven't had an error in a while (much longer than before). Email is working, iTunes, etc.
If I encounter any problems in the very near future I will re-post. But, hopefully this has it solved. -
How do I get iphoto to recognize that a computer really is connected to the internet? I cannot use places to locate my photos, because the software keeps telling me my computer is not connected. I know the computer is connected.
Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. It the problem persists make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If the new library does'nt have that problem then your original library is damaged. Post back if that's the case and we'll go from there.

Pages 09 constantly defaults to US Letter. I've tried to change to US Letter Borderless but the 'Save as Default' on Page Setup does not work. I've reloaded Pages to no avail. Any tips, tricks or suggestions?
