Post Patch Problem

After applying the patchset 3.1.1.00.09 and restarting the listeners I am unable to log into http://localhost:8080/apex
I am getting a javascript error doSubmit is not defined
I am sure I just missed something simple. Any help is appreciated.

Hello,
same problem (dosubmit/first_field/submitEnter is not defined) after upgrading apex in another machine and importing apps from 2.1.1,
but i'm getting these errors executing apxldimg.sql :

Do you know what cause the error?
According to installation guide apxldimg is only necessary if you're using xml gateway,
is this your case?
Thanks,

  • Oracle 8.0.5 Post Installation Problem

    Hi all,
I have installed Oracle 8.0.5.1 is installed on my RH 6.0 box.
However, I am running into a couple of post-installation
    problems.
    1. root.sh (sucessfully ran).
    2. glibc patch (successfuly ran). There were a few errors on the
screen with the "mv" commands (file does not exist). Is tha
    alright?
    3. catrep.sql (problem). This is where I have a problem.
I ran dbstart as oracle805 (installation account), but I have no
idea whether or not I really started the database. ps -aux did
    not yield any clue.
I also tried svrmgrl and "startup", but the file "initXXX.ora"
did not exist, so I copied the existing "init.ora" to
"initXXX.ora". XXX is my ORACLE_SID. Instead alert_XXX.log gave
    me the following:
    ORA-00202: controlfile: 'ora_control1'
ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status
So, in other words, I have no idea whether or not I have
successfully installed Oracle. All insights are greatly
    appreciated.
    Thanks a bunch...

  • Patches with pre and or post patch scripts not executable -- why?

In my frustration with update manager hangs I have had to kill processes and restart and even manually unjar files and patchadd. Sometimes I run across the error that the pre or post patch scripts are not executable. I have in the past chmod 744 and patchadd then applies the patch. This has happened several times in my latest patch update. I also had a patch ( X11) that implied a lack of entitlement but the manual patchadd showed that the real problem was a missing prerequisite patch.
    My questions are:
    1. is this lack of executable permission on scripts ( pre and post) by design and am I missing the correct procedure?
    2. missing prerequisite scripts? why?
    3. out of frustration --- IS THIS PATCHING UTILITY THE BEST THAT SUN CAN DO?

Update Manager is sometimes a little flaky, particularly on unpatched systems (as it uses many different utilities). I would suggest that if you are having problems then you should use smpatch instead - it's not really any more difficult to use and is often much quicker.
If a patch has a script that is not executable that is not a fault of updatemanager, but a fault with the patch itself (being archived with incorrect settings) or possibly your umask setting, which should ideally be globaly set to 0022 prior to patching to prevent problems during extraction and application.
If updatemanager has complained about a lack of entitlement I would tend to believe that this was the case, check the contents of your entitlement file:
    # cat /var/sadm/spool/cache/entitlement/*entitlement_clientYou may be missing SolarisAllUpdates or other entitlements - please post the output.
Sun do offer other patching tools, but what is best for one person/company may not be the best for all. There is also the possibility that you don't have it setup correctly - I would ask that you run the attached script and upload the output file generated to our [Support Uploads|http://supportuploads.sun.com/] site.

  • Posted these problems of Zen Micro bef

oh man, I posted this problem before, and I'll probably get the same answer, but anyways, I'm kinda mad because my Zen Micro is having soooo many problems right now. .battery drain when not on, and no, I do not have that one fimware that has that known problem. 2. if the headphone is not in just right, the sound when seem like it's far away. 3. If I touch the top of the jack of the headphones that goes into the Micro, the music will stop playing, until I ge the jack EXACTLY in the right place. that is all the problems I have right now......but anyways, It is very annoying to recharge your Micro overnight, take it school, only to have the battery dead cuz it said overnight after it was done charging........ I'll probably get the same answer I got last time, contact creative, but I was wondering if you think the place I bouught it at would take it back, (Circuit City)i'm gettin pretty mad Creative....... I bought this hoping I wouldnt have this many problems.....Message Edited by augi55 on 08-20-2005 09:3 AM

On account of it being a headphone jack problem, of which there are many, it's quite possible they'll cover it for free even if you're beyond the warranty period (Parts: year, Labor: 90 days). Normally you'll need your receipt for proof of purchase date, but again, with the issue being a headphone jack, it may not even be required.

  • [CS4] Post login problem

    Hi everybody,
I’m facing a problem I can’t solve as I’m not an expert with php : I have created a site of which first page is a login. On the second page I would like to retrieve informations from a database based on the logged on user ID. Here is the problem : I don’t know how I can insert the user ID on the SQL request (on page 2). I’ve tried to put as Run-Time value of my Recordset template $_GET[‘MM_Username’] but it does not work. Creating a session value into the bindings panel allows me to display the correct ID value (therefore MM_Username) on the HTML page but still I can’t do anything with it into my SQL request… I’m lost !
Thanks in advance for your help/advices

  • Given so many posts about problems, is upgrading to maverick worth it?

Given so many posts about problems, is upgrading to OS X maverick worth it?
I am content using Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8.  But my most recent Garmin GPS map updates returned a message that stated, "Mac OSX 10.6 is an older OSX version that is no longer compatible with modern software. We will be ending support for this operating system soon.  To continue using Garmin Express, please upgrade your operating system."
As others have noted, you don't hear from the users who have installed this upgrade successfully. I've read about problems installing the upgrade and then incompatibilities with other applications once it is installed. Would appreciate your experience and thoughts.  Thanks.

There are several excellent suggestions here.
What I did was clone my Snow Leopard drive to a second hard drive, then installed Mavericks on the clone.
I now have a working Snow Leopard drive as well as a Mavericks drive. I bounce back and forth between them.
I have symlinks set up so all my documents created on the Mavericks drive go to the Snow Leopard drive, but I have copies of all my applications on both drives. It just seemed easier...
I had to disable App Nap in both Quickeys and Keyboard Maestro, but they both seem to work well, and neither is the latest version. (Well, Quickeys is the latest version, but it's not a recent version.)
I only check email in Snow Leopard, never in Mavericks, so my Inbox is not scattered over both systems.
The Mavericks disk takes longer to boot, and it does occasionally seem sluggish, but it's not a deal-breaker. Like many, I have some legacy software I use, so I don't want to commit to Mavericks full time. But it's nice being able to use both.
I do like using Safari in full-screen mode, but that's the only program I use full-screen for.
    Hope this helps.

  • Post-Modification Problems: Hard Freezes. Kernel Panic?

So, I bought a used Dual 867MHz MDD back in March and it appeared to be 100% functional. It even had gone through the PSU/fan exchange program (and was still slightly loud). Comparing it to a Dual 867MHz MDD I got just a week ago, it had a different PSU, all different fans, a different heatsink, different optical drive, and a better GPU (Radeon 9000 Pro 64MB as opposed to the "new" DP867 having a GeForce 4 MX 32MB).
About two weeks ago I overclocked the system bus on the first DP867 to 167MHz, thus bringing the CPUs to 1.08GHz. No problems there. I even changed the heatsink to a copper one from a DP1.42GHz FW800 model. Again, no problems. Pre-mod I had a 4x512MB config of PC2700 Crucial DDR memory at CL2.5. I replaced those with a 2x1GB config of PC3200 Princeton DDR memory at CL2 (2-3-2-5 to be exact) that have heatspreaders. I didn't change the GPU (though I have a Radeon 9800 Pro I'm going to put in once I resolve my problems... read on...).
Pre-mod and post-mod any RAM that is PC2700 or faster is showing up as PC2600 in System Profiler, which I find very odd. That same Crucial RAM is now in the un-modded DP867 which has a 133MHz bus and it, again, shows up as PC2600. I find this odd.
When I first got the now-modded MDD, I replaced the stock 60GB IBM HDD with a Maxtor 200GB drive that has a 16MB buffer. Works fine. All this time, though, it was on the ATA66 bus. Post-mod, I moved it to the ATA100 bus and then my problems began...
The machine would boot just fine. In fact, it would boot so fast I never saw the blue OS X loading screen. Kind of freaky. Then it would HARD crash in 1-5 minutes. The only solution was to hold in the power button until the machine turned off. Putting the drive back on the ATA66 bus didn't help. Back on the ATA100 bus, I could not re-install OS X from a 10.4.3 disc I have (guy who sold me the first MDD included that and iLife '06) because it couldn't verify the hard drive. Fortunately, I had so little on the drive, I backed it up to one of the spare 60GBs by putting them both in the second MDD and using Carbon Copy Cloner (great app!).
With the Maxtor on the ATA66 bus, I could re-install OS X, so I did. I did the Archive & Install so as not to have to deal with migrating user data. First thing I noticed when it rebooted into a fresh 10.4.3 was the CPU temperature at 60°C! As far as I know, these particular PPC chips max at 62. I freaked. I shut the machine down and let it sit for several hours before booting back up and patching to 10.4.7 and re-installing the Developer tools (and patching those to Xcode 2.4). This was a problematic process, interestingly.
My system is now back to the way it was pre-mod and though it's working a lot better, it will still occassionaly hard crash/freeze. Is this a kernel panic? When I shut it down and then boot back up it tells me I can send a report to Apple, but rarely does it show me the report.
Here're the things I think could be problematic or just some possible ideas:
    1. I was under the impression that the 167MHz bus would recognize PC2700 speeds, but all my fast RAM shows as PC2600, which isn't even a real speed. This worries me a bit, as slower RAM doesn't play nicely with the faster bus.
    2. The Acbel PSU doesn't have enough output. I believe it's 360W max (what an odd value). I changed all the fans to be quieter (and thus slower), but the 120mm main case fan had to run off of one of the 12V power leads since it uses too much power to go off the mobo's 2-pin lead meant for said 120mm fan. I also added two 60mm behinds the heatsink which are on a fan controller (also hooked up to one of the 12V leads - I only have one HDD and one optical drive, so there're lots of leads). I also plan on putting a Radeon 9800 Pro in, but now I wonder if this PSU just can't handle the added pull from the OCed bus (and CPUs) and extra fans (not to mention slightly more power-hungry 120mm fan).
    3. The PC3200 RAM's 2-3-2-5 timings don't sit well with the system. The MDDs should be able to handle both CL2 memory and a 2x1GB config according to developer documentation for them.
    4. I messed up the ATA100 bus during the modding, though with nothing attached to it, I don't see why this should be an issue.
    5. Repeatedly opening and closing the case has weakened the thermal paste and I need to re-attach the heatsink. I doubt this is true, but you never know.
    6. The PSU is over-heating? I know they get really hot and I'm in agreement with other modders that the MDD design is not thermally officient.
    7. The CPUs are overheating. Temperature Monitor, post-mod and not including the post-OS X reinstall temp reading, has yet to show these CPUs hit 60°C. They get to the mid 50's no problem, and in fact, get to the high 40s very fast (and then VERY slowly rise to the mid 50s from there). Overall, then, the system is warmer than it was pre-mod, which I find odd considering the better heatsink and extra fans.
    8. These processors just aren't 100% stable at 1.08GHz. It's possible if you consider the way processors are made and why they get clocked to the speeds they get clocked to. Or...
    9. The whole CPU board needs more voltage, which would require some more soldering.
Lastly, this machine seems to, since the mod, be cursed by the PowerMac G4 "No Sleep For You!" Bug. No matter how you put it to sleep or wake it up, only the fans kick in on wake-up and none of the rest of the system. Holding the power button shuts it down, and after booting it tells me I can send an error report to Apple, and again it only occassionaly shows me said report. My father has a un-modded 733MHz Digital Audio G4 that can't sleep and my un-modded Dual 867 MDD can't sleep (it wakes up, then hard crashes about 5 seconds later).
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Not to knock the fine folks at MacMod.com, but I haven't been getting the kind of feedback on all of this I was hoping for there.
Here're my machine stats (pulled from an error log):
    Model: PowerMac3,6, BootROM 4.4.8f2, 2 processors, PowerPC G4 (2.1), 1.08 GHz, 2 GB

Flip4Mac (latest version), Temperature Monitor (set to launch at log-in), Developer Tools (latest version).
    Thanks in advance!

A few people out there have assured me that if I don't max out the system in terms of add-ons and things, the PSU should be more than adequate. I have 1x fan controller, 1x HDD, 1x optical drive, 1x graphics card in AGP slot that doesn't require an extra 12V power lead, no PCI cards, only two sticks of RAM, an overclocked system bus, and one fan hooked to a 12V lead rather than its 2-pin connection on the mobo (after discovering it doesn't run on said 2-pin connection). I've also taken out the case speaker to allow air to be pulled in through the top of the case.
I plan on adding two more fans to the fan controller (it can support 4). These fans will go at the bottom front of the case (under the face plate) and run at low speeds just to make sure the process of air flowing through the lower case starts off strong. So, two 60mm fans start it, the 120mm fan forces it past the heatsink (though as many probably know, not the whole heatsink - what a great design...), and then the two 60mm's behind the heatsink pull hot air out of the case.
Thanks for the info about System Profiler, Malcolm. I think you're right, though - if the CPUs were overheating, it would shut down. That's the whole point of the TAU's or whatever they're called.
I'm starting to think that either the 2-3-2-5 PC3200 RAM is suspect, or the processors are not stable at 1.08GHz. I'd downclock them back to 867MHz, but I think I need to buy some surface-mount resistors for that, and I really don't know what kind to get (as in, how many ohms).

  • Fresh install and update patch problems 119060-17 , 122213-10 , 122912-02

Just yesterday, i installed a fresh Solaris 10 x86 onto some pc hardware. After getting solaris installed and issues with my network card, i downloaded and installed the free version of the update manager 1.0.x. Next, i proceeded to update all the general patches for the solaris 10 system. I started with the command 'pprosvc -i' from a terminal. It then proceeded to download and validate a bunch of patches successfully until it hit the following 3 patches:
    119060-17 ---- X11 6.6.2_x86: Xsun patch
    122213-10 ---- GNOME 2.6.0_x86: GNOME Desktop Patch
    122912-02 ---- SunOS 5.10_x86: Apache 1.3 Patch
All 3 failed some kind of validation and then crashed the pprosvc program, at which point it exited with the following error:
    122912-02 cannot be validated
    119060-17 cannot be validated
    122912-02 cannot be validated
Unexpected Failure: java.lang.Throwable: ERROR: Failed to validate the digital signature(s).
I also tried to use the GUI Update Manager to update, hoping the problem was isolated to pprosvc, but that problem was also in the GUI with a similar error message:
Error occurred...The detailed error message is: Unexpected Failure: java.lang.Throwable: ERROR: Failed to validate the digitial signature(s)
Anyone know why Sun's update patch process is so troublesome?
    Getting Tired of Solaris Updates...
I should mention that this is the free solaris 10 x86 install and i don't have a service contract with Sun. If this problem persists, i don't think i'll get one, as i see only further problems after buying one.
    tired and confused

    Hi,
    There is an issue with this that is currently being investigated. There is another thread that may shed some light on what is happening here;
    http://forum.sun.com/jive/forum.jspa?forumID=316
Thread title is : Sun UC, Digitally Signed Patches Using New Verisign Certificates
In the short-term please ensure that the patch mentioned in it is installed.
To quote part of mentioned thread above:

  • Beehive post-Installation problem

Hi, I'm istalling Oracle Beehive 2.1.0.0 in a Oracle Linux 5.
First I installed Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production, then guided by I installed Oracle Beehive, I followed the post-installation procedures http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16671_01/bh.200/e16641/what_you_need_to_know.htm#BIJGGFJH, in the first step (Oracle Beehive Database Post-Installation Procedures - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16671_01/bh.200/e16641/db_post.htm#BHAJIEID) I make correctly (at least) the first two steps, in the third one no error show but if I check configuration with the “list_bootstrap_configuration” command what I see is that the desired password is in the schema name field.
After this, I can only use some of the commands, for example with activate_configuration or list_ports I receive:
beectl: command failed. See the log file "/u01/app/beehive/product/2.0.1.0.0/beehive_1/beehive/logs/beectl/2012.06.15/beectl_shell_17_06_04+0300.txt" for more details.
    Log says:

Even if I try to clear the data given in previous steps with “clear_proposed_configuration” command I received the error.
I checked and there are 6 patches, but it seems none of them fix the problem, althought I couldn’t find from where to download. Also In the contents of the installation of Beehive, one point (out of the installation against database) it’s about installing Oracle Beekeaper, maybe that will help, but as far as I know it’s only a UI for Beehive.
(http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16671_01/bh.200/e16649/beectl.htm#list_bootstrap_configuration here is the documentation about beectl)
Maybe the problem is that I'm installing in a 64 bits and documentation of Beehive says that only 32 bits is supported, but I needed to try because our client machine is a 64bit Linux .. any other suggestion?

for Instant Messaging, I believe you need to review Chapter 25 (Configuring XMPP) of the Installation Guide.
At least you need to do a
beectl modify_property --component _XmppService name DomainNames value <domain>
    beectl activate_configuration
    beectl restart --component BEEAPP_<instance>.<host>
For any user partaking in IM, you need to define an IM Address, as this is needed to provision the user to the XMPP Service.
If you master your user in an external directory, you can map existing mail addresses to also be used as IM Address, e.g.
    <directory_attribute_map_entry>
    <source_object>ENTERPRISE_USER</source_object>
    <AttributeMap>
    <Field>
    <source_attribute>mail</source_attribute>
    <target_attribute>BUSINESS</target_attribute>
    <target_extended_attribute>IM</target_extended_attribute>
    <target_attribute_type>ADDRESS</target_attribute_type>
    </Field>
    HTH, Thomas

  • New MS patch problems with Apache & SSL on NetWare web serve

This week our users began to experience problems accessing our Intranet based on a NetWare 6.5 box running Apache and using a Verisign SSL certificate. IE would say it was connecting but you would never get there. Firefox could get to the server but I had similar problems with Safari & Chrome.
I discovered that the MS security patch KB980436 had modified some portion of IE and was causing the problem. Uninstalling that patch put us back to where we could once again access our Intranet.
This seems to have something to do with how IE accesses using the SSL 443 port. When, internally, I accessed this same site using http instead of https it worked perfectly.
This patch was applied to Win XP and Win 7 with the same bad results.
If there is a more appropriate place for this post please move it there.

Have you tried the registry settings to go back to compatible mode? The
settings are listed in the MS KB article.

  • OLAP Patch problem

    Hi everybody,
I had some a bad experience with OLAP Patch.
First of all it doesn't work for international users.
The problem: you have to alter (as always >:( ) the "Program
Files" dir to portuguese's "Arquivo de Programas" in
the configuration assistant. This problem is fixable...
Second, the patch configuration assistant hangs after entering
the SYS password. This problem is not (user) fixable...
Where is the problem? Is the second problem related to the former?
    TIA,
    Rodrigo Galvao
    PS:
    I'm using:
    - W2K on a P4 machine
    - Oracle 9.0.1 patch for 9.0.1.3.1 (# 2271678)
    - I didn't installed patch #2367681

This seems to be a question for the 9i database team
please post messages directly to that forum for better reponses.
    Thanks

  • Post Patch Errors

I'm a Sprint customer and after installing the latest patch yesterday I have run into some problems with my otherwise unflawed BB Curve.
    1) Warning pops up:  Application terminated:  telenav address book plugin has been denied the "interprocess communication" permission.
    2) My install of the Google App fails to boot.  I get the error message "your device needs to be reset."  I've uninstalled and reinstalled + removed batter twice (in varying orders) to no avail!
Anyone else have similar problems or have an insight into how to remedy these issues?

I am not aware of any "patches" available. There are full upgrades.
