Post processing task

What are the general tasks we can perform post processing process while doing data archeiving process? Is it mandatory to have one?

Hi,
Using the   Post Processing you carry out different tasks necessary after archiving. These include the monitoring and managing of archiving jobs, the creation and filling of indexes for accessing archived data, and the reorganization of different database tables. The deletion of archived data is also part of the post processing tasks. In the context of legal compliance, some archived data can be deleted completely once the data retention period has been fulfilled. In other cases the law even requires companies to delete the archived data after a certain number of years; for example certain data in Human Resources. I think it is not mandatory.

  • Issue with Bulk Load Post Process Scheduled Task

    Hello,
I successfully loaded users in OIM using the bulk load utility.  I also have LDAP sync ON.  The documentation says to run the Bulk Load Post Process scheduled task to push the loaded users in OIM into LDAP.
This works if we run the Bulk Load Post Process Scheduled Task right away after the run the bulk load.
If some time had passed and we go back to run the Bulk Load Post Process Scheduled Task, some of the users loaded through the bulk load utility are not created in our LDAP system.  This created an off-sync situation between OIM and our LDAP.
I tried to use the usr_key as a parameter to the Bulk Load Post Process Scheduled Task without success.
Is there a way to force the re-evaluation of these users so they would get created in LDAP?
    Thanks
    Khanh

The scheduled task carries out post-processing activities on the users imported through the bulk load utility.

  • Execute SSIS Package from JOB which contains Execute Process Task calling a .bat file

    Hi All,
I have a EXCEL Macro needs to be called from SSIS. We could not use Script task because of some internal reason.
So we have taken an approach to call a .BAT file using Execute Process Task. This .BAT file will call a .VBS file which will execute the EXCEL Macro.
The SSIS Package is running good if I execute the package from BIDS.
But the real problem is with the scheduling this SSIS Package using SQL JOB.
If i execute this SSIS package from SQL Server Job, its executing the whole package successfully except the Execute Process Task.
So the overall issue is SQL Server Job is not executing properly if I call any .BAT file from the SSIS Package.
Please give me suggestion to get rid of the issue. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Sai.N,
If you run the SQL Server Agent job manually from SSMS, does the package execute properly? If the package executes properly when you run the job manually, the issue should occur due to permission issue. In this case, I suggest that you create a SQL Server
Agent proxy based on the current Windows account which you use to log onto the operating system, and run the job under the proxy account.
If it is not the issue, please enable logging in the package as Visakh mentioned and post the warning/error message for further analysis.

  • WSUS reinstall on 2012 SCCM server post-installation task fails to run/finish

I had to re-install WSUS on a 2012 R2 SCCM server (Windows 2012), and am running into several issues re-installing. It may help to point out that the SCCM SQL server is remote, so this isn't a WSUS / SQL 2012 issue.
The sticky post at the top of the WSUS forum has helpful troubleshooting information, and I have tried going through this as well as many other threads on this very topic of re-installing WSUS.
    1. Roles for WSUS and WID were removed successfully. The WSUS Website was manually deleted from IIS. As this is a SCCM server, removing the IIS role is not an option.
    2. I removed the existing WID database files for SUSDB
    3. After rebooting, I verified registry keys were gone, system files were cleaned up, and deleted the program files\update services directory
    4. This isn't a permission issue, as I have clearly installed this before on this server.
    5. Registry keys, system files, and susdb files no longer exist, and the server has rebooted cleanly.
    6. I am able to add the WSUS role selecting WID, and this installs WID without any errors. At this point, simply clicking the post installation task fails, generates an empty .tmp file in my %appdata%\temp folder, and exits the MMC.
    7. This file is blank. Absolutely empty, so I couldn't really troubleshoot any post installation tasks.
    8. Further investigation shows that the 'C:\Program Files\Update Services\Tools\' directory is gone, and isn't being
    generated.
    9. Ok... DISM /online /Cleanup-Image /Scanhealth didn't return any issues, so I copied the wsusutil out of the windows\WinSxS directory.
    10. Yey! wsusutil postinstall runs, but bombs out on the IIS portion. It generated the DB without an issue, but results
in an IIS generation error. So, I installed WSUS on a clean 2012 install, then copied over the program files\updateServices directory to reclaim the missing files.
    The log files show --

... ok - tripple checked that network service has permissions to .net and windows\temp folders.
netstat -a doesn't show anything running on port 8530 ( in case this was some weird port check in use)
Which goes back to the missing directory problem -- further net searches show that this is a reoccurring issue for some OOBE... sfc /verifyonly shows ... nothing.
What is left to be done at this point? The missing folders from the program directory seems to be a problem for some with some users right out of the box. I have read many other threads where users just formatted and started over. Not exactly a solution
    - any help out there on this issue? Any suggestions to determine what file is missing, or generating the IIS issues?

Part of the post install tasks wanted to download some items including the tools folder.
Can you expand on this please. The WSUS post-install tasks do not download anything, except what is acquired during the initial synchronization with Microsoft.
Because of my group policy the WSUS server was trying to download the updates from itself even though it was not setup yet.
What update(s) was the WSUS server trying to "download"?
In fact, if the WSUS Server was not setup yet (but you already had a GPO in place), then the first issue here was performing deployment steps out of order.
But still.... except for the actual installation binaries for the WSUS Server Role on a WS2008SP2/WS2008R2 system, there's nothing the WSUS server needs to get from either Windows Update or a WSUS server. This scenario is actually discussed hundreds of times
in this forum, but complicating matters, this thread isn't about installing WSUS V3.2 on a WS2008SP2/WS2008R2 system, it's about installing WSUS v65 on a WS2012 system, so I'm a bit confused as to what the actual installation environment is that we're discussing.
I changed the WSUS server to get it's windows updates from Microsoft and then the post install task succeeded.
I'd really like to get some more details about what exactly in the "post-install task" was dependent upon content from WU/WSUS.

  • NOT able to call exe in ssis execute process task

I am creating an SSIS package in which we execute an exe file from the EXECUTE PROCESS COMPONENT which contains the logics and uses few sp’s which checks the expiry dates of the certificates of some URL's. But when we keep the file on sever and run it through
TWS it is showing the error "FILE NOT IN PATH" .But if we keep the exe file in local path then it executes through TWS. If we run the package locally without TWS then it runs successfully no matter if the exe is in local path or placed in a shared
server folder. So i want to know is there any constraints in running the EXE file from the shared folder through TWS.
    Note:
1.TWS- IBM Tivoli workload scheduler to call and execute ssis packages
    2. TWS is install in different server (Like server A)
    3. SSIS package and exe file located in different server (Like server B)
    4. We are using dynamic path in SSIS package to locate SSIS package and exe file.

    Hi SR_MCTS,
According to your description, a package that execute an exe file with Execute Process Task can be executed successfully without using TWS or the exe file stores in local path with TWS. While it fails when use TWS to execute the package with the exe file
    stores in shared folder.
If in this scenario, it seems that the logon user that use TWS to execute the package has no access to the shared folder. We can logon as the relevant account or change some relevant settings on TWS to make sure the user has access to shared folder which
    hosts the exe file.
Besides, since I’m not familiar with TWS, I’m not sure whether the issue is caused by there are some constraints in running the exe file from the shared folder through TWS. As to this issue about TWS, I suggest you post the question in the following forum:

  • Issue with Bulk Load Post Process

    Hi,
I ran bulk load command line utility to create users in OIM. I had 5 records in my csv file. Out of which 2 users were successfully created in OIM and for rest i got exception because users already existed. After that if i run bulk load post process for LDAP sync and generate the password and send notification. It is not working even for successfully created users. Ideally it should sync successfully created users. However if there is no exception i during bulk load command line utility then LDAP sync work fine through bulk load post process.Any idea how to resolve this issue and sync the user in OID which were successfully created. Urgent help would be appreciated.

  • Mapping Adapter to a process task in process definition.

    Hi Guys
My requirement is , Disable users associated with an organization when the organization is disabled.
I have performed the following steps:
    1. In design console Lookup definition Lookup.ACT_PROCESS_TRIGGERS , I added a row
    ACT_DISABLED   DisableUSerWhenOrgDisabled
    2. Then I created process task adapter to recursively disable the users based on the organization name.
3.Next I attached the adapter to a new task in process definition --> Xellerate User with the name DisableUSerWhenOrgDisabled(decode field in Lookup.ACT_PROCESS_TRIGGERS ).
4.Then I mapped the Adapter variables to appropriate entities in the Integration tab.
Now when I login into the admin console and disable an Organization , the adapter is not at all invoked.
I am unable to get if I am missing anything.Kindly help in resolving this.
Is this the correct way to achieve this functionality?
    OR
Do I need to go for Entity Adapters.
    Thank you
    sas
Edited by: sas on Jan 8, 2009 4:55 PM

    SAS,
You only need one adapter. You can use one variable that maps the Organization Name. Using this value, you can use the tcOrganizationOperationIntf apis to get information about that organization. Once you get the disabled value, you can create your if statement based on the value of this task. If the Organization is not disabled, return a literal string like "NO_ACTION_REQUIRED". If the Organization is disabled, using the code i previously posted, or the code you have generated, to disabled all the users within the organization. If this task successfully completes, return the literal string like "ALL_USERS_DISABLED". If an error happens, i would return something like "ERROR" or something more descriptive. Then on your responses tab, you can add these values you are returning, along with a more descriptive value. Set the NO_ACTION_REQUIRED and ALL_USERS_DISABLED to a C status and the ERROR responses to a R status. Now when you map your adapter, map in your Organization Name and for your Adapter Return Value map it to the responses.
As far as what you can do with responses. On the process task, the response tab, you can select the specific response, and then have it trigger another task.

  • How to call Process Task in AD User proccess definition from Xellerate user

    Hello,
I need a help from you guys.
I have one customized process task in "Xellerate User" Process definition. When my this task executes completely, I would like to call one of the customized process task in "AD User" process definition from xellearte user. Is there any way we can do that?
    Thanks for your any help....

There are lots of ways to accomplish this. I haven't read through the other posts, but here are a few options.
Option 1 - Create a second task that also triggers at the same time, but set the task you already have as preceding. Then on your second task, write whatever code is needed to update a field, insert a new task, whatever the function is that's needed.
Option 2 - On the completion response of your original task, just use the response code to trigger the second task from running. Then again, write whatever code is needed.
Option 3 - Create a UDF on your user form. Add this field to the Lookup.USR_PROCESS_TRIGGERS. When your first task completes, use the APIs to update this field with a new value, perhaps the current date. On your AD Process Definition, create a task with the name you used in the lookup. This task will get triggered whenever the field is updated. Now if the user does not have an AD Instance, you don't have to worry about it ever running.
I'm sure you could create other event handlers as well to do this, it just depends on how creative you want to be.

  • Retry "Bulk Load Post Process" batch

    Hi,
First question, what is the actual use of the scheduled task "Bulk Load Post Process"? If I am not sending out email notification, nor LDAP syncing nor generating the password do I still need to run this task after performing a bulk load through the utility?
Also, I ran this task, now there are some batches which are in the "READY FOR PROCESSING" state. How do I re-run these batches?
    Thanks,
    Vishal

  • Post processing using NI6225

I have 12 NI6225 DAQ Boards (~960 chs).  I want to set up LV8 to read Ch1 on all 12 boards ( SW trigger) then Ch2 on all 12 boards, then Ch3 etc.  I need to store ALL this data then process it ( post process?)  after acquiring all 900 chs.  Any suggestions or examples ?  In post processing how does LV distinguish between the raw data from Ch1 board 0 and ch 2 board 0 or even ch1 board 1 ?
Make my day and answer this question.
    Thanks,
    Clint E.

    Clint,
In order to do this, you will need 12 individual tasks. Since you have
12 of these, I'm assuming that you have them inside of a PXI chassis.
The attached example is for 2 devices, but you can extend it to more by
repeating the bottom half of the code. You should physically locate the
master device (the one with the reference clock being exported) in slot
2 of your PXI chassis (the source of the star timing). In this code,
all other devices are synchronized with the master device reference
clock. Whenever the master's Start Task VI is called, this will assert
the AI Start Trigger signal on the master device, and all other devices
will use that as a digital trigger to begin their acquisitions. Please
make sure that all other devices execute their Start Task before the
master does (Merge Errors VI would be helpful). This process will
result in each of your devices acquiring samples at the exact same
time. The output of each analog read will output an array of waveforms,
with each waveform corresponding to the samples acquired on a single
channel of that device. To specify the order with which the channels
are scanned, order them that way in the physical channel control. For
instance Dev1/ai1,Dev2/ai3, Dev1/ai5 will acquire one sample from
channel 1, channel 3, and channel 5, then repeat. Please let me know if
this is not what you were asking, or if you have any additional
    questions.
    Hope this helps,

    After an upgrade from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2
You *cannot* upgrade a WSUS server from WS2008R2 to WS2012R2, so could you please clarify what you actually did do?
Otherwise, given the error messages, I'm inclined to think you really did *Upgrade* the WS2008R2 to WS2012R2 server with the WSUS role installed, and if so, then you're basically going to have to reformat and reinstall WS2012R2 from scratch.
This scenario is plainly documented in the
    WS2012R2/WSUS v6 documentation:
    New and changed functionality
    Warning
Upgrade from any version of Windows Server that supports WSUS 3.2 to Windows Server® 2012 R2 requires that you first uninstall WSUS 3.2.
In Windows Server 2012, upgrading from any version of Windows Server with WSUS 3.2 installed is blocked during the installation process if WSUS 3.2 is detected, and you are prompted to first uninstall Windows Server Update Services prior to upgrading Windows
    Server 2012.
However, because of changes in Windows Server 2012 R2, when upgrading from any version of Windows Server and WSUS 3.2 to Windows Server 2012 R2, the installation is not blocked. Failure to uninstall WSUS 3.2 prior to performing a Windows Server 2012 R2 upgrade
will cause the post installation tasks for WSUS in Windows Server 2012 R2 to fail. In this case, the only known corrective measure is to format the hard drive and reinstall Windows Server 2012 R2.

  • OBIEE 11g post installation tasks in Linux?

    Hi,
Do I need to write any script for high availability of OBIEE and web logic servers in Linux? what are the processes to start/stop manually using command? Please give me post installation tasks I need to taken care of.
    Thanks
    Jay.

    Becky,
You need not do any thing additional to have EM running in the OBI 11g instance. Although it is a deployed JEE application, if your Weblogic Server (WLS) is started and up and running then your EM Console should also be up and running.
You say that you are doing everything from the command line. So, start the Weblogic Server then navigate to http://< your server name> : 7001/console
If that comes up then go to
    http://<your server name>:7001/em
That is your EM Fusion Console and it should come up as well.
Don't mess with the XML file directly.

  • How Assigned TO field will be updated in "start Approval process" Task Action

I have created a reusable workflow in sharepoint designer. Am using “start Approval process“ Task Action. I have a question in “start Approval process“ Task Action.
I have username field in the list.  I have created a task form field with name username in “start Approval process“ Task Action. I have assigned list username field to task field username field.
I have entered a user details in list user name field for new list item. Once the workflow has been started for that item a mail has been sent to the user whose name I have entered in the list user name field. Task has been assigned to the user whose name
I have entered in the list user name field.
When I have checked start Approval process task a send mail activity is present (Email Task notification currentitem:Assigned TO) .
I have not update Assigned To field explicitly.
    1. Where / how the Assigned TO field is getting updated ?
    2. Workflow Initiation and task creation will be done internally by the user who created the item in the list?
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you had questions about the “start Approval process“ Task Action.
When you add the “start Approval process“ Task Action, you need to to select the user who the task assign to.
To assign the user whose name you have entered in the list user name field, you add action as below:
After you select the user, the Assigned TO field is getting updated.
In addition, workflow Initiation and task creation will be done internally by the user who created the item in the list.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • OIM - starting two process tasks simultaneously

    Hello,
I have a process definition with many process tasks. If a certain trigger/event happens (eg. Change Last Name) I want to run two particular process tasks. How do I achieve this? My guess was to use the option to generate new tasks based on the response code, but I didn't manage to build such a task yet. How do I configure a new task that only initiates/generates two other tasks?
    Joost

Hi Ryken - each background task is its own entity, so each task should get 16Mb of memory as described
here.  Also, each task gets its own 2 seconds to execute.  The tasks do not combine resources.  I do not think that you can share statics between the processes,
but you're welcome to test it out and prove me wrong.
