Post - RCU installation

Hi,
As a pre-requisite for the webcenter suite(Portal,Webcenter,Content Server) I had installed the corresponding schemas in Oracle Database 11G.
As its a requirement to compile the packages MDS_INTERNAL_COMMON ,MDS_INTERNAL_SHREDDED and MDS_INTERNAL_UTILS i tried to compile the same using DEV_MDS user.
I am not able to compile the body section of the above enlisted packages.
I am getting the below error,
Error(1): PLS-00753: malformed or corrupted wrapped unit
Please suggest.

Hello all,
We applied the note 945991. But still it has not solved any issues. When I am trying to load data from my DSO to CUBE. it gives me red light with errors.
Exception CX_SQL_EXCEPTION occured (program CL_SQL_RESULT_SET=========CP, include CL_SQL_RESULT_SET=============CM006, line: 71
Exception CX_RS_STEP_FAILED logged
Also while creating transformation from Datasource to DSO sometimes I get dump while activating CL_RSTRAN_GEN_RULE but if I try it again that it activates without a dump.
Is any one else facing this problem.
Should I apply notes 954667 and 949549 as mentioned in other posts?
Is the issue solved for anyone else?
Thanks,
Kiran

  • Post Creation/Installation Document.

    Hello,
    Is there any formal template for a document, Post Creation/Installation of Oracle Database? As in Control File Locations, Log File location, Environment settings, etc. etc. that is required to be maintained after installing the Oracle Server or post creation of a new database.
    Luckys.

    Take a look at the Optimal Flexible Architecture guidelines. They are document in the installation guides. Below is the link the Windows installation guide.

    Thanks veeravalli for your reply,
    I tried manually created a user and provided the sysdba priveiledge to that user and gave that user name and pwd in the database connection steps of RCU installation and gave next .this time i dint get the invalid username /pwd error.But instead i got the below error.
    RCU-6002:The specified database does not meet the minimum requirement to load metadata repository.
    RCU-6080:Global prerequisite check failed - Check requirement for specified database
    The database you are connecting is with non-AL32UTF8 character set. Oracle strongly recommends using AL32UTF8 as the database character set.
    Can anyone suggest an idea to resolve this issue .

  • RCU installation - where to set components tablespaces?

    Dear,
    For the RCU installation in 11.1.1.6 for those about a hundred tablespaces is there a config file where you can specify which directory structure you will install all those about a 100 tablespaces BEFORE you run the installation process?

    Hi,
    I am setting up SOA suite 11g. I have Oracle 11.1.0.7 DB (fresh installation) and I my lsnrctl is showing following information;

    I chose to create new repository and provided following information on RCU setup screen;
    Host Name: IP_Address of the machine
    Port: 1521
    Service Name: *<--- I dont know what to provide here as I didn't create any databases on server yet*
    Username: sys
    Password: ******
    Role: sysdba
    Am I missing anything....?

    Hi,
    I found the solution and some more useful information which I wanted to add here for future reference.
    To run RCU, we need to create a DB first in Oracle and then LSNRCTL will pick up that database and start listening on default port (1521). Use you DB name as Service name which can be verified as follows;
    LSNRCTL Status_
    $ lsnrctl status
    LSNRCTL for IBM/AIX RISC System/6000: Version 11.1.0.7.0 - Production on 14-SEP-2010 09:33:34

    The command completed successfully
    Also I found out during my RCU installation we need some more settings before and after creating DB to run RCU successfully;
    *1) DB_BLOCK_SIZE Settings*
    The default initDB_NAME.ora file create DB with *'db_block_size=4096'*, if that the case you'll see following error while installing RCU;
    RCU-6002:The specified database does not meet the minimum requirement to load metadata repository.
    RCU-6080:Global prerequisite check failed - Check requirement for specified database
    RCU-6107:DB Init Param Prerequisite failure for: DB_BLOCK_SIZE
    Current Value is 4 KB. It should be greater than or equal to 8 KB.
    User should have sysdba or dba privilages.
    It is irreversible :(. You have to drop and create DB again with following parameter in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initDB_NAME.ora file;
    db_block_size=8192
    *2) User Previlages*
    You can not use SYS/SYSDBA to connect to Oracle DB from RCU setup. To grant SYSDBA permissions to the ORACLE DB user first apply following command from shell;
    $ orapwd file=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID password=PASSWORD entries=4 force=y
    Note: In above command the password is Unix/Windows login password not SYS password.
    Now, login into SQLPLUS prompt using sys/sysdba to finally grant SYSDBA opermission to normal Oracle DB User as follows and restart DB to apply changes;
    SQL> grant sysdba to aia;     <-- Grant SYSDBA permission to user 'aia' in this case
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> grant dba to aia;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> startup force;

  • Error RCU-6083 during RCU installation prior to OBIEE 11g on Solaris

    Hello,
    I have an application server where I have an Oracle Database EE 11g running on Solaris 10 upgrade 9.
    The server has the following characteristics:
    - SUN V440
    - RAM 16GB
    - 2 processors Ultra Sparc III, 1.5GHz
    - OS: Solaris version 10
    - Disk space: 500GB
    - Oracle Weblogic Server 11g (10.3)
    - Ethernet 1 Gpbs
    I want to install the RCU schemas and OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.5.0) on this server so I verified all the pre-requisites for RCU and OBIEE and are OK.
    I am using the Repository Creation Utility (11.1.1.5.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) to install the RCU because although the database is running on Solaris, the installer is not working through that server so I have a PC connected to the network and through that PC that has windows7 i could run the installer and connect to the db, using the SYSTEM user (because when i select sys as sysdba, although the password is correct, it doesn't connect to the db).
    However, the installer is sending the ERROR: RCU-6083 regarding the pre-requisites for the BIPLATFORM.
    I already use the following command alter system set processes=500 and restarted the db services, however the wizard installer is still sendig that error.
    What can be done to succesfully install the RCU?
    Thanks and regards,
    Rebeca

    Hello User,
    Below my comments in blue:-
    1) Do I need to install any Oracle DB (like to install 10g) prior to running rcu.bat file?
    Yes
    2) If I install Oracle 10g DB, does if create any compatibility issue while installing OBIEE 11g?
    Check below the compatibility matrix

  • I have a frustrating problem with my iPhone 5 post ios8 installation. The ring tone won't sound when phone is locked/switched off, although the vibration does work. I think it has something to do with "do not disturb"

    Hi, I have a frustrating problem that seems to have occurred post iOS 8 installation. When my iphone5 is switched off the ring tone fails to sound i only get the vibration. If i am using my phone and a have an incoming call then the ring tone works as normal. I think it has something to do with "do not disturb" ... i see from the menu in "do not disturb" that under the heading "silence" there are two options "always" and "only when the phone is locked" This does not seem to make sense as i have to choose one or the other!
    If anybody can help advise me on this problem i would be very grateful.
    Thanks

    Hello Mogulman46,
    So what that means is when you have Do Not Disturb turned on, you may have an alert depending on the setting and how you are using your iPhone. So if it is set to Always, then that means that no matter what, your iPhone will not be notified. If it set to Only while the iPhone is locked, then that means that you will not get notification when your iPhone is locked but you will get notifications if your iPhone is being used. Also keep in mind the settings All Calls From can be set to certain contacts like Favorites, Everyone or no one. If you are using Do Not Disturb and you do not need it, then turn it off.
    Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • "shared memory realm" error -- cross-posted in "installation"

    I've just installed 8.1.7 on a Solaris 8 workstation. The installation went fine up until the database creation assistant tried to create a database: it failed. But the software was all installed, so I did a "connect internal" and created a database myself. Once I start the database, I can connect as system/manager; but when the database is shutdown, connecting as system manager gives me an "Oracle not available" error (ORA-01034) followed by a "shared memory realm not available" error (ORA-27101) followed by a "no such file or directory" error (SVR4 Error: 2:).
    All of the shared memory and semaphore parameters are specified in the /etc/system file, and they show up when I execute a "sysdef -i" command.
    Any ideas why I'm getting these errors?
    I did a search and found a few posts on "shared memory realm," but none of them seemed to address the fact that I can connect when the database is started/mounted, but not when it's shutdown.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

    make sure the env var ORACLE_SID is set.
    check PROCESSES in your init.ora file. if you lower this number (to say, 15) and errors go away then you need to up the semiphores kernel parameter (or leave PROCESSES set to a low number). Also, it is correct to get an error when trying to connect to a database that is shutdown. the only way to not get an error is use svrmgrl or "sqlplus /nolog" and then connect / as sysdba (or connect internal).

  • What causes post software installation stall and how can I avoid it?

    I never had this problem before with Jaguar, but since I installed Tiger this past December, when I've installed some software updates, my computer has not been restarting normally when I followed the instruction to "restart".
    It shuts down, there's the pause, then the chime sounds. The screen lights up and the spinning beach ball appears. So far, so good. That, however, is as far as the process gets. The beach ball just spins and spins and spins. I was patient, but waited to no end. Finally, I disconnected the power cord and let the battery run down.
    Finally the screen went dark. I let the computer stay like that overnight. The next day, I reconnected the power cord, the chime sounded and the
    computer started up successfully and worked normally. And the software was installed. This has happened three times, every time with a software update.
    I have repaired the permissions and done other disk first aid from my install disk CD. And I've run the Tech Tool utility.
    I don't know if any of that will address the problem. So I hope some one can give
    me some idea what the problem is and what will permanently eliminate it, before I venture into any future software updates.
    Thanks

    It is normal for a restart after an update or software installation to take much longer than normal, and generally it should be left to do its thing - but not overnight!
    There are no guarantees, but following this procedure when installing updates and upgrades on your Mac will go a long way towards avoiding unpleasant after effects and ‘post-update stress disorder’.
    It is also worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
    So before you do anything else:
    If you can, make a full backup first.
    Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
    Disconnect all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
    2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
    At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
    3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site. If your car runs on gasoline you would not want to fill the tank with diesel, so don’t try to install the PPC updater on an Intel Mac!
    If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
    Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.4.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
    Now proceed as follows:
    4. Close all applications.
    5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
    7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
    8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
    If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious!
    9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them 10.4.10. compliant. Give them a weeks or two while you regularly check their websites for updates. This applies particularly to plug-ins for Safari 3.
    N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.
    Lastly, Apple's own article on the subject of Software Update may also be useful reading:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106695
    If you are updating Safari (or just have):
    Input Managers from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed 10.4.11 and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level /Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
    So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 uses Safari 3.0.4 which is not a beta. If Safari 3.0.4 on 10.4.11 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
    Moreover, trying to revert to Safari 2 when running 10.4.11 can have repercussions, as Safari 3.0.4 uses a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail and Dashboard Widgets etc also rely.
    Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Two such add-on that have been frequently mentioned here for causing such problems are Piclens and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them.

    We have installed the SP08. Does anyone know if there any note which tells the things that we have to do post installation of SP08. I remember reading somewhere that you have to reactivate your transformation. ??
    About routines, I dont see routines coming over. And when I do the same thing on update rules I am getting an assertion failed dump CL_RSTRAN_TEMPLATE=====CP , Include CL_RSTRAN_TEMPLATE====CM007.
    does anyone know why is this thing happening. I have just started working on SP08 will come up with lots of issues or solutions. If anyone else is on SP08 please share.

    D:\Softwares\Oracle Webcenter Installation\Repository Creation Utility 11.1.1.6.0\ofm_rcu_win_11.1.1.6.0_disk1_1of1\rcuHome\BIN>rcu.bat
    The input line is too long.
    :console
    was unexpected at this time.
    Thanx!

    Hi ,
    You have a path problem inherent of Windows .
    Create a new folder on D:/ and name it rcu
    Unzip the rcu.zip to D:/rcu and after that from rcuHome/bin run the rcu.bat file .
    Hope this helps .
    Thanks
    Srinath
