I am appalled by my recent treatment by Apple's Support Community. I recently had a post removed, and was sent a notification email about it, for calling someone a name. I won't say it here, as Apple continually deletes my emails when I say it, even though I censor the word. As "offensive" as it may have been, I was defending myself from what someone else said to me. Yet the original "inflammatory" and "speculative" post that prompted my reply was not removed. Their post was neither "polite" nor "constructive" as the etiquette standards say they require. I feel this is unfair and a violation of Apple's Community Etiquette standards. Who do I speak to about this, without being continually censored?

I will report your post to the hosts for you - it will be up to them.
If someone attacks me, I will usually just ignore it - that is the best way to deal with such people.

Scrapping Meter(SAP-ISU) post Removal/Replacement

Kindly refer to the SAP-ISU implementation scenario below:
A meter(serial number) is issued from stock against a work order(Mov type 261) ,which get physically installed at a site.The issue is done through the transaction MIGO.
Now after a meter removal/replacement the old meter needs to go back into a "scrap" storage location,as these will be never re-used again.
Would appreciate,if you can put forth your ideas on how to do this,in terms of movement type to be used,whether it can be done from the same transaction(viz Transaction for removal/replacement).

Just to understand your suggestion better,you are asking me to do a Goods Receipt of the serialised material, and then transfer post it into a designated scrap storage location,please confirm.
If I do a GR using MIGO, what do I do the GR against ? Also how do I enter the required serial number/material combination.

Post removed - what did I do wrong?

A post I made in the Aperture forum was removed. I was asking a question about someone selling an Aperture serial number and whether Apple considered this legal.

The selling and purchasing of serial numbers is never legitimate, unless it is done by/from the original publisher of the software (such as puchasing a QuickTime Pro serial number from Apple).
If a person has a legitimate copy of the software, they already have the serial number, so do not need it again. If they lost it, there are usually means to re-obtain it from the publisher (or in some cases from an original reseller) via a copy of a sales receipt or from the seller's sales files.
The selling of serial numbers by folk not party to the original sale of the software is theft; so is the purchasing of such serial numbers.
If you would like to report that seller, and it has to do with an Apple product, you can do so to Apple's Legal department, here -

I'm angry -- post removed by admins

I asked a simple question, looking for feedback from people who had NOT been having random shutdown issues. I got 14 replies. Now the post is removed. Why??
This makes me very angry. I'm trying to determine how to spend my money, yet more money following the tens of thousands of dollars I've spent on Apple since 1984. It's not like Apple doesn't know they have a problem with the shutdowns. Everyone knows! What's the point of censoring that type of post???

The point is you are creating poll, and it is not allowed by the term and agreement you must obtain before you post anything.
And they have the right to do so based on their judgement not by user / poster judgement.
We tried to warn people that post not a proper post by refering the term and inform them that they facing risk and consequence for being deleted or locked, but some other user suggest us to shut-up and this is what happen, post deleted and the poster whining about it.

I do not encourage to post the requirements directly in SCN without doing proper homework. If you try a bit with some BW knowledge, you can easily achieve what you have asked in the thread.

Post removal issue

Hi,
I posted a message the other day in the "integrating the iPhone into your digital life" forum inquiring about car kits available for the product. This seemed like a legitimate question, but I just got a mail telling me that it had been deleted from the forum "as it contained feedback or feature requests." The intriguing thing is that the mail I received is addressed to "Gary", which is not my name. The first reply to my post certainly did contain feature requests, so I'm wondering whether my post was deleted in error. (I wasn't paying attention closely enough to tell you whether the guy who replied is called Gary, and now the whole thread has been deleted.)
I'm curious to know whether this was a mistake on your part. If so, no big deal. Mistakes happen, and the answers to my post anyway seemed to indicate that there aren't any good car kits available yet for the iPhone, so I'll hang tough and wait.
If this wasn't an error, I'd appreciate some explanation as to what, exactly, was wrong with my post and what the purpose of the "iPhone in your digital life" forum is, if not to ask questions like "could you recommend a car kit to use with my iPhone?"
Not to be too whiny, but you might also want to consider including a) a reference to the post being deleted in your mail and b) some indication of where to turn if the post was deleted in error.

I'm trying to figure out the right way to integrate the iPhone into my car. All the solutions I find seem to be Bluetooth based, which is totally uninteresting to me since I want to be able to listen to podcasts/music from the iPhone on my car stereo. I have a car stereo with aux input, and I have another with a CD changer that I could replace it with if that turned out to be the better solution. I also have a microphone already installed in my car and hooked up to a cradle for a Nokia phone of some sort (which was already in the car when I bought it).
So basically my dream solution would involve the following:
A cradle that I can plop the phone into when I get into my car.
Audio output hooked into my car stereo.
Audio input hooked into the mic on my sun visor.
A button on my steering wheel that does the same thing as the clicker on the iPhone headphones (i.e. pause and answer calls).
I'd certainly be prepared to put together something myself, but I'd like to figure out what the options are before jumping into this. Any suggestions?

Who among us has not addressed an email to the wrong person? CC'd the wrong person? Who has not made a mistake setting up an automated task? How many people here have nonsensically reported a post to the Hosts (and how many times have inexperienced Hosts deleted topics) either in their zeal to establish control of a forum, or because they did not fully understand the Terms of Use. Mistakes happen, sometimes more than one mistake is made at the same time....
Questions like yours are not against the ToU in my reading. Similar questions are asked regularly in every hardware forum. My guess is that in the recent purge of topics in the iPhone forum, your topic was swept out with one hundred or more other topics. The problem may be (even by my standards) that that forum was out of control from the iPhone's launch through to the period just after its first software update was released. There was a great effort by staff and members here to rein that forum in as it was creating many issues, not the least of which being AD's servers' performance.
I don't think there's a general lesson to be taken from your experience, and as you said, from the answers you saw before your topic was deleted, you learned the answer to your question. That's what AD is for.

I agree with you that we don't need so many threads to support concurrent many users for normal web application.
But what happen is that if i have an application which will take a very long time to process a request and probably will not complete the request for a few hours. So if i want to test for 1500 concurrent users, i need to have at least 1500 threads to service this kind of request. Otherwise, some of the users may need to wait for a few hours in order to get serviced by web server.
Thus, is there a way to allow OS or web server to create this many of threads?

- cp the file from one DG to another DG
- rename the datafile by alter ......
- online the tablespace.
- check the file location from dba_data_files
- now do rm for old dbf file.

No key frames what so ever.
The AE project I refer to, only involves a standard hdtv 720p comp with a text element or a simple shape drawn. (Actually I am pretty certain that an empty comp will yield the same result)
The problem is consistent no matter if it's the most simple AE project I can possible make or a complexed project with many comps in it.
Personally, I am pretty sure the potential bug is isolated in PP and has nothing to do with AE. The reason why I believe so, is that when I try to pick large AE project the error message pops up much quicker than the time it takes to loads and analyze the AE .aep file.
Please before you go, can you tell me wether or not you get the same result when doing a simple test as I described in a somewhat similar set up.
And please pass the information on to the developer team. (I have already written a bug report) but I am desperate for a quick fix to this issue, so any help bringing their attention to the problem is much appreciated.

Why is my post removed?

I thought my question was innocent enough - I just want to see if there have been any announcements about any hardware upgrades to the iMac before I go ahead and buy one (possibly as soon as this week.) What's so offensive about this? Considering that I bought my Macbook like two months before Core 2 Duo came out, I certainly believe I am entitled to ask this question ......!

Thanks. I wasn't speculating, I just wanted to see if there's any official / semi-official news (e.g. remarks by Apple officials that might shed light on timing of any future upgrades to the iMac) that I might have missed.
And even if there were any speculation included in the topic, is it really that big a deal? We are all mature adults and surely we all know how to distinguish between pure speculation vs. wild speculation / wishful thinking on our own - or are we not even given that benefit of the doubt?
