Post/wait initialization failed

Hi,
Fail to startup an Oracle 8.1.5 on Solaris 8.
The error message is:
ORA-27146: post/wait initialization filed.
Anyone can help?

You ned to increase semaphores in etc/system file.Only root can change these values in Solaris.
PUt the following parametrs sa given below or increase the existing values to march below values.
These are the values in etc/system file you need to set to overcome your problem.hre you can go up to 200 processes.
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax=4294967295
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmin=1
set shmsys:shminfo_shmseg=10
set shmsys:shminfo_shmmni=100
set semsys:seminfo_semmsl=210

I had a problem when trying to startup 2 database at Solaris8 machine. Please help me to solve this problem.
Problem:
I have created 2 database seperately. But I couldnt started up those 2 database at the same machine. Like either one is alive but not second one. When I startup the second database, got this error message : ORA-27146 Post/Wait Initialization failed.
I have tried to increase the sizes of System file variables at /etc/system, but its not.
I dont know the calculation for those variables when I use 2 or more instances.
Environment : Solaris8 / Oracle 8.1.5.
Please let me know if you need more clarification of problem.

its a resources issue. change the init.ora file for resources such as db block buffers, processes, etc. you will be able to start the instance.

ORA-27154: post/wait create failed

hi
i am runing Oracle 9i R2 on SunOS 5.9 , i tried to startup my database and it gives me this error:
ORA-27154: post/wait create failed
ORA-27300: OS system dependent operation:semget failed with status: 28
ORA-27301: OS failure message: No space left on device
ORA-27302: failure occurred at: sskgpsemsper
i have no space problem in my server , i have another database running on the same server without any problem.
any suggestions !!

what are the effects of increasing the semmni and the semmnsMore memory (some KBs likely) allocated by the kernel.
and do i have to reboot the server ?!.Yes (from Oracle doc: If you change the settings, save the /etc/system file and restart the system.)

The SEMMNS parameter should be set to the sum of the PROCESSES parameter for each Oracle database, adding the largest one twice, and then adding an additional 10 for each database.

we solved the problem by resetting the permissions on the oracle executable as described underneath in the first solution mentioned.
The error ora-27140 is due to the lack accessibility to oracle
executables.
1. Please make sure that all oracle executables has permission as per

What are permissions to $ORACLE_HOME/bin?
Should be something like this:
ls -ld $ORACLE_HOME/bin

this issue is occured with only the particular request and this is custom report. i try some step
down the manager run the cmclean.sql, increease the processes of output postprocessor but not get the any type of effect on issue...
and also follow the step that describe in the below doc:

I have two cFP-2120 RT controller. They both have NI-Serial RT2.5.6, DataSocket for LV RT4.2, NI-VISA 3.6, FP Drivers 5.1.0, FP VI Manager 3.1.0 LV RT 7.1.1 installed. But one same vi can run on one controller but not another.
the error message got when it runs on another controller is "Error -32810 occurred at The FieldPoint server initialization failed. Possible causes: 1. Missing or corrupt configuration file; 2. Failed to create callbacks. : FP Open.vi"
I wonder by what it is caused?

Hi Matthew,
As mentioned previously, this KnowledgeBase article may be of some help. Also, if your code is being run on an embedded controller and then a network controller (not embedded), you will need to run the program differently. On the embedded controller, you should deploy your VI in a Project Explorer or programmatically (as described here.) However, you do not need to deploy the program to a network controller, but simply run the VI.
I would also suggest creating a new .IAK file. Do you still see the same error? Also, double-check that the software installed on the controller matches the software installed on the host PC. If you have any file paths associated with one FieldPoint controller, ensure that you are changing them to match the second controller.

Hi,
If there is any external device plug into your computer, please unplug it and restart the Server.
You can also test the issue in Safe mode.
If it can boot into Safe mode, please update any driver has yellow warning on it, also check if the dump file is existing under %SystemRoot%\, if so, please help to post back for our research.

I have been having this issue for quite some time with Firefox. I am using the Nightly build (23.0a1) and have been using for more than 2 years. Synchronization was working fine till a few weeks ago. Synchronization of XMarks on Chrome Dev works fine and no problem. It's only with Firefox. Things I've tried but no success:
1) I deleted my profile off of xmarks and created a new one and tried syncing again. No success. 
2) deleted firefox, deleted the profile folder under AppData. Reinstalled everything fresh, and still no success. 
My log file shows the following... Not sure what to check. Anyone help me? Thanks!

Re Patrick's suggestion above, I was able to get Xmarks working again on both my Win 7 laptop and desktop today by uninstalling my Aurora browser completely and then installing the regular release version of Firefox, 20.0.1.
When I uninstalled Aurora, it asked me if I wanted to keep my customizations and personal data, and even though it meant a bit more restoration work later, I decided to try erasing all my Aurora settings and data and starting fresh. (But before doing so, I backed up all my bookmarks by exporting to an html file and my add-on settings via Firefox Sync.
After that, I installed and started with a clean slate version of regular Firefox, and proceeded to then reinstall my various add-ons and import my saved bookmarks from the html file. As soon as I re-installed Xmarks and re-logged into my Xmarks account, the automatic syncing process went fine and no more error messages or failures.
I had been using Aurora for months prior with Xmarks and never had any syncing problem until the first week of April. And at that point, the syncing function broke on both my laptop and desktop, which were both running the daily updated versions of Aurora. So I'm believing that something was changed in Aurora that caused this problem.

I've seen a couple of other posts regarding this but no answers as of yet.
Stuck at BIOS/UEFI in a reboot loop. Top left shows Reset: 10Sec (and counts down). Lenovo logo and message:
Security engine initialization failed. Contact your support representative.
Error Code = 0x40000
I've tried the Power/Vol+ combo, tried tapping the Vol-, tried hitting F1 from an external keyboard, removed any memory cards, etc. Nothing seems to work. Is there some BIOS/UEFI update that can be done or a hardware reset to clear this? My 9 year old daughter doesn't care about a security engine, she just wants to play her games and watch videos.
Something else I noticed, the device will not power on unless it is plugged in. If I unplug it after I turn it on, it will continue to stay on (in the reboot loop). If I turn it off, I have to plug it back in before it will turn on again.
Please help!

NLS initialization failed error

Hi,
I am running on XP and have already installed APEX 3.0.1 on the XE db. I have since installed the Oracle HTTP Server from the 10gR2 companion CD and at the point of the Configuration Assistant secion of the installation as it tries to start the HTTP Server the NLS initialization error appears.
I have listed the output from the cfgtoollogs directory below :

I have since removed the oraociei10.dll file from the older HOME directory (previous Client installation) that existed on my system and the matter has been resolved i.e. I can now start the HTTP server.

SQL Server not starting - FallBack certificate initialization failed

I can not start my SqlServer 2008 Express. The problem seemed to start when I changed my "Built In account, Log in as" from Local Service to Local System. If I try to change back to Local Service I get the messagebox with WMI Provider Error, "Cannot find object or property. [0x80092004]".
Getting a bit confused, but read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/900497    mentioned about
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib, Value name: Certificate, Type: REG_SZ not having a valid value then 2005 would not starte - my value is blank. Changing it to 0 did not work.
How can I import a valid certificate using SQL Server Configuration Manager. And how do you turn off Forced Encryption? Not sure if this would fix it, but couldn't hurt.

I know it's probably too late to help with the original poster, but we had this same issue and nothing we tried resolved the problem. Finally, we opened a technical incident with Microsoft and this is the solution that we were provided:
Take backup of below registry key.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\MachineGuid This key should ideally have the GUID of the machine without curly braces, so {xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} becomes xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
Then delete the braces.
Try to reboot and start the SQL service . If service don’t start then Uninstall and reinstall SQL.
The above solution worked on two separate machines exhibiting this problem.

3D snapshot Initialization Failed

Hello, I have been using the demo for about a month, and all of a sudden the 3D scan stopped working. It says: "Initialization Failed for the following reason:3D scanning failed. Please wait for 10 seconds and then try again" I've restarted the PC a few times, and it still doesn't work. All of the other features such as the Capture feature still work. ThanksMatt S. I lost some of the sample project and images files for no obvious reason and failed to get them back. My only solution was to to reinitialise the machine and everything came back to normal. If you are up for it, you can try that. It is quite painless if you haven't installed too many applications on your Sprout. Hopefully the 3D should work again. If it doesn't, then it may be a hardware problem.
