Postal replacement on Nano 5g?

Hey guys, I have a 5th gen iPod Nano, it is my 3rd iPod after having 2 classics and the headphone sockets have gone on all of them. Previously they have stopped playing on my latest it has become fuzzy. The click wheel is also not working properly but this doesn't bother me.
However I am in the UK and I was wondering if I could send my iPod off to be repaired by post rather than visit the genius bar, as my closest one is about 80 miles away. I was told I could do this but can't seem to find any way of doing so and the product is still within the year warranty so this is bugging me.
Does anyone know if there is any way I can do this or is it for Americans only and will I have to visit the Genius bar?
Cheers.

Why didn't you ask the person who told you?
Call iPod tech support. The phone number for your country should be listed on the paperwork that came w/your iPod.

Not quite surewhat your asking exactly. You look here for different ways on importing media from nano to your computer! https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2417169?start=0&tstart=0

Make sure your headphones are plugged all the way in. The white plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the nano.

  • Why does my replacement iPod nano 7th gen not sync?

I've just got a replacement iPod nano 7th gen after my last one was faulty (suddenly having white screens etc) - exact same model type. I've charged it, and when I put the new replacement iPod in the computer it makes the regular sound to let me know its recognised the iPod. The iPod shows the 'connected - eject before disconnecting' sign so that part of it seems to be working.
I then go to devices looking to sync the music into my new iPod and then when I do that the 'Sync' button is grey and will not let me progress to sync. This is the problem I am having and I need help.
Let me know if you need any more information, thank you.

I am a UK resident btw If that helps.

How much does Apple charge to replace ipod nano 3G Battery?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • Received a replacement ipod nano in early January . Works well in a sound system but keeps turning off when earphones are used. tried 3 pair but same result. When tried for support comes up as  expires. Says I have to purchase . Why????

Received an ipod nano replacement in January. It works in a sound system but keeps turning itself of or loosing sound when earphones are used. I have tried several sets os earphones with the same result. When I just tried to seek support my Serial number comes up with warranty expired although the letter says 3 mths warranty. What gives Apple ??? Any one any advice??/

This is usually an indication that your headphones are not plugged all the way in.  The white plastic part of the headphones should be flush with the Nano and no silver from the plug should still be visible.  The headphone jacks on the new 6G Nanos are a bit tighter than previous generations, so it requires a bit of extra push to get the headphones to pop all the way in.
Also check make sure the jack is clear of debris such as lint.

  • Is Apple going to replace Scratched Nano's?

I like many others have just purchased an iPod Nano, and it already has scratches on it after only a few days.
Obviously this is a production fault relating to inferior materials!
Is Apple going to refund or replace Nano's suffering from this fault, as it is a manufacturing fault in my eyes!

  • Replacement ipod nano 7th gen?

I got my ipod nano 7th gen December 2012, and since then have tried multiple times to put movies on, without sucess. I can't find anybody else online with this problem. What are the qualifications for a replacement? What are the steps to replacing it?

  • What's the best way to replace iPod Nano 1st Generation?

I have two iPod Nano 1st Generations. One from 2005 and one from 2006. The one from 2005 just works when it feels like it. Sometimes it works and most of the time it doesn't. And the one from 2006 recently exploded when it was charging. A silver bag (I'm assuming the battery) expanded and ripped the iPod apart breaking the plastic around the scroller.
Should I use that replacement program (I heard it didn't work for some) or can I just bring them to an Apple Store to replace them?

See if either qualifes under the 1G Nano recall.

  • Replacing the nano battery with the invisible shield... How?

Does anyone know how the invisible shield will work when the battery needs to be replaced? I am looking for a permanent solution. While I know that I will be able to peel the Invisible Shield off for the battery replacement, the shield will become stretched and distorted. At this point I will not have a shield, and don't have to want to buy another one. The only solution I think would be possible is if there was a way to slice the shield with a razor (around the seam). Any ideas. Perhaps I shouldn't buy the Invisible shield, it might just be a short term solution.
    Anyone?

Actually, I think the more prudent question is whether or not the nano will even be accepted for battery replacement by Apple, or anyone else with a cover like that attached to it.
They could even charge extra money to deal with it, I can see either situation as being realistic.
If that does turn out to be the situation, then it would come down to a matter of costs as far as what you would need to do.
That being said, I personally think it is way too early to even worry about things like that since it is years off at a minimum, and it could very possibly never need to be done.

  • Ripped music in library disappeared when I replaced original Nano with new iTouch

I had an original 2Gb Nano that Apple replaced with a new 8 Gb iTouch a few months ago.  When I synced the new iTouch with iTunes, all of the ripped music I had in the library that was also on the original Nano disappeared from the library. How do I find this music on my computer (same one I was using with the original Nano) and get it into the iTunes library once again?  Thanks for any assistance!

Ok, it magically came back. :? I really don't know what happened, but I'll leave this topic open for a day in case anyone eles is having a similar situation and someone would be kind enough to come in here and explain either that a) I'm more technologically impaired than the majority of the population under the age of 10 or b) this is a common thing and this is what happened. . .so I don't get ticked off the next time it happens.
