Postcards / Cards print on photo paper?

Can anyone tell me if that the cards/postcards you purchase from Apple are printed on card stock or on photo paper.
iMac G4 800mHz, iBook G4 1.42Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I ordered a Christmas card from Apple and it arrived today and it's excellent quality. I think it's card as it's not shiny like photo paper.
However, I ordered two cards and only one arrived with two envelopes!!

  • HP Photosmart 7200 Colors are Wrong When Printing on Photo Paper

I'm running Windows 7 and am having a problem when printing on photo paper.  The colors are off; mainly green.  The colors are fine when printing on plain paper.  I have tried printing from my computer as well as straight from the media card.  Same result.  I am also using HP Photo Premium glossy paper.  Print cartridges are brand new and are loaded correctly.
Any solutions or troubleshooting tips I can try?

    Hi @Vay725,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that the colors are wrong when printing on photo paper! I am happy to help you with this print quality issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know some more information:
The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If you are using Genuine HP Ink cartridges.

  • How to print on photo paper with HP Photosmart 7520 on iphoto '11

    Dear All,
I have a very serious problem. I've tried so many settings and configurations without success.
Very simple. I cannot choose the photo tray in any way and I cannot print on photo paper.
I get everything on A4 format.
The printer is working fine wih other software (e.g. HP studio).
    I can't believe I'm the only one.
    Please help!
    tks ;-)

    Hi,
I came across such issues using AirPrint from Mac OS.. probably an Airprint bug.
Go to Print & Scan and click the plus sign.
From the extended add a printer dialog select the Photosmart 7520.
Open the Use drop-down and select the HP Photosmart 7520 from teh list (Instead the default AirPrint option)
Additionally from the iPhoto print dialog click Print, the OS print dialog will appear.
Set the Paper Source as Photo Tray under the Paper Type/Quality menu.

  • Only 3/4 of photos print on photo paper

Only 3/4 of the photo prints on photo paper (4x6 borderless). If photo is printed on full size paper entire photo prints.

Try these steps and let me know if it resolves your issue or not:
    1. Remove all paper from the paper tray.
    2. Place the photo paper print side down on the right side of the paper tray.
    3. Slide the paper-width guide inward until it stops at the edge of the paper.
    4. On the File menu in your software application, click Print.
    5. Make sure the product is the selected printer.
    6. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box.
Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties,
Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
    7. Click the Features tab.
    8. In the Basic Options area, from the Paper Type drop-down list, select More. Then,
select the appropriate photo paper type.
    9. In the Resizing Options area, from the Size drop-down list, select More. Then, select
    the appropriate paper size.
If the paper size and paper type are not compatible, the printer software displays an
alert and allows you to select a different type or size.
    10. (Optional) Select the Borderless printing check box if it is not already checked.
If the borderless paper size and paper type are not compatible, the product software
displays an alert and allows you to select a different type or size.
    11. In the Basic Options area, select a high print quality, such as Best, from the Print
    Quality drop-down list.
NOTE: To achieve the highest dpi resolution, you can use the Maximum dpi
setting with supported types of photo paper. If Maximum dpi is not listed in the
Print quality drop-down list, you can enable it from the Advanced tab. For more
information, see “Print using Maximum dpi” on page 30.
    12. In the HP Real Life Technologies area, click the Photo fix drop-down list and select
    from the following options:
    • Off: applies no HP Real Life Technologies to the image.
    • Basic: enhances low-resolution images; moderately adjusts image sharpness.
    13. Click OK to return to the Properties dialog box.
    14. Click OK, and then click Print or OK in the Print dialog box.

I am trying to get my iPad to print from hp air printer and it only prints on photo paper. How do I fix it to print on paper. I already put setting to copy on printer but it prints blank.

Thank you everyone. I figured it out. I thought that you can use regular paper to print pictures from photos on Ipad. This is not possible. I was able to use regular print paper to print from my mail. My problem is solved!!

  • When I print on photo paper it only prints in black and white. How can I fix this?

When I print on photo paper it only prints in black and white. How can I fix this?

Does it print correctly on plain paper?
What do you do differently to print on Photo Paper than to print on plain paper?
iPhoto has no idea of what paper is being printed - that is totally a function of the printer and the print driver supplied with the printer - you need to look at the printer specific options and your printer manual and/or support forums

  • Can't print on photo paper

Please help before I jump off my roof!!!! Hi, I have just purchased a new HP Envy 5530 specifically to print photos. The guy in the store also sold me a pack of Kodak A4 premium photo paper and said it would work fine. When I try and print pictures in any size 4x6 or 5x7 it either just prints a black smear or just a inch or so on the edge of the paper. The strange thing is that if I do the same thing but with normall (not photo) paper it works fine and prints it in the size I want!!!!!! What am I doing wrong. Do I need special paper or something, this is driving me crazy. Please help.   DC6

See this topic. Although for a different HP printer it may have something in it that will help: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1374604&tstart=0
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Deskjet 6988dt, how to use photo/envelope slot for printing 4x6 photo paper?

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.  Printer has the extra250 sheet paper tray.  Upper and lower tray work fine.  I can of course load photo paper in upper tray and print photos from there, but I was trying to load just one sheet of photo paper in the little slot since I don't want to have photo paper loaded all the time.  Since I have to use the generic Windows driver for this printer as HP doesn't have a driver update for this printer and Windows 7, the only selections I'm seeing in printer properties is "automatic, upper, lower".  I've tried all three of those settings and none take the paper from the little slot where I'm manually feeding the 4x6 photo paper.  What am I doing wrong?  Could it be that this feature just isn't enabled with the generic Windows driver?
The reference/instruction documentation that came with this printer is very sparse.  I can't find any instruction on how to use the photo/evelope slot.  In fact I'd say overall the documentation is very poor.
I just checked the HP site, still no Windows 7 64-bit driver available.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Found a .pdf document on line for the Desjet 6980 series printers. Much more comprehensive than what came with the printer.

Follow these steps to use the photo/envelope feeder to print a single photo:
    1. Insert the photo paper into the photo/envelope feeder with the side to be printed on
    facing down.
    2. Gently push the photo paper into the photo/envelope feeder as far as it will
    comfortably go.
    3. Slide the photo/envelope feeder forward as far as it will go.
    4. Print the photo.
Problem was, although I was inserting the 4x6 photo paper into the feeder, I wasn't pushing the little plastic slide forward.

  • How do I get the hp 6510 to print to photo paper?

When I try to print photos from the computer with "4x6" and "hp photo paper" selected, the printer prints 4x6 size on the plain printer paper, NOT the photo paper. If I remove the plain 8.5x11 paper, it won't print at all, just says "paper tray empty". How do I get this to work?

I could not print  saved photos on my computer to photo paper. Spent a long time trying all cures listed on line. Nothing worked. I finally made these  adjustments. Now it prints fine.
              What I daid was:
                                                1)   Opened Control panel
                                                2 )  Opened "Printer folder"
                                                3)   Made sure my 6510 was listed as default printer
                                                4)   "RIGHT" clicked  printer icon and clicked "Run as administrator"...... clicked   "Properties"
                                                5)   Clicked  "Continue" when Windows asks for permission to continue
                                                6)  Clicked   "Printing Preferences"
This gave me 2 menues to choose from.    Layout.... and.... Paper /Quality.
                                                                                  Clicked on "PAPER /Quality"
                                                 7) For Paper Source   selected  "Photo Tray"
For Paper size   selected 4x6in (tab)
For Media    selected HP Advanced Photo Papers
                                                      For Quality Settings   selected "Best"
                                                 8) Clicked on "Apply" in lower right corner of the window.
                                                 9) Clicked  "OK"  then "OK" on the next screen to close the printer windows
I can now print my saved Photos on Photo Paper. Hope it helps you.

  • The printer wont print on photo paper why is that

The printer keeps printing on paper instead of photo paper

How are you sending the print job, and what file type are you trying to print? I know airprint and eprint base the paper type on what file type is printing. If its from a computer you will have to specify in the print settings what paper to use.

  • Hp envy 4500 wont print on photo paper

I am using HP photo paper and it jams every time.  It acts like it's printing but nothing is generated on the paper.  I can print the photos on plain paper and it works.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hey @Mamadee6,
I'm sorry to hear that the firmware update is also failing for you. Ensure you don't have any 'out of paper' or 'paper jam' messages on the screen when you try to send the firmware. If all is fine on the printer when you try to send the firmware it does sound like something may be corrupt in your printers programming.
At this point I'm going to send you a private message with a special printer reset in it. I suggest that you check your private messages and run through the reset I'm going to provide you with. After running the reset be sure to post the result of the reset in this thread and not in the private message as our troubleshooting steps can be helpful to other HP Support Forums users.
    Good luck!

  • Photosmart 5520 print on photo paper - black isn't black

Hi, I've been having some issues printing text on photo paper. I create little circles with a name in it (2cmx2cm) to use in jewellery. The print used to be really sharp AND really black. Since a few months, the black is getting a bit faded out, more greytone than black. I tried changing the settings to 'print black only', max. DPI etc, but nothing helps. The ink cartridge isn't empty either, not according to the printer test or me (I shook the cartridge and I can hear there's certainly ink inside).  Could you please advise setting I should use? Can I enhance the thickness or grade of black from the print? Would it help if the circles and names are created in a super high DPI file in Photoshop?  Thanks in advance.

Hi , Have you by chance changed the type of paper you are using? Based on your description, after the black became a little faded you began tinkering with your print settings. Since changing the print settings didn;t help, I can't help but wonder if the issue is not related to the settings at all. What happens when you try to copy something, is the black print then faded too? Please complete the solutions presented in the following document to full troubleshoot the issue: Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5520 e-All-in-One Printer Series. I hope this is helpful. Thanks.
