Poster Frame doesn't work (QuickTime Movie)

Hi,
I recently published some QT movie on iWeb and i do set the poster frame..but after published and visit the website..all the poster frame doesn't work...why?

Is the NEW UPDATE of iWeb causing some problem of Publishing iWeb?
I'm facing a few problem...like after publishing the Visit button doesn't point me to me Personal Domain instead web.me.com/xxx
besides,most of the times facing Publishing Error window prompt out
and
the words of the content doesn't justified as what i saw in iWeb...
huh...what's the problem?

No Poster Frame Function in new Quicktime 10?

Just updated to snow leopard and trying to set poster frames in the new quicktime player. One use to be able to do this quite easily by moving the playhead to the frame you wanted and then selecting "set poster frame" in the pull down menus.
It seems as though they have dropped this feature...
Has anyone had any luck with resolving this?

Agree - that works using the older version; but this is a step back. Apple Quicktime "was" a great "timer" for resolving video motion in 30 frames/sec (.033 second resolution) rather than 1 second increments. Using for sports video instruction and Physics lab.....will need to "turn back the clock" and use the older version...which is fine.

Imporing QT movies but set poster frame doesn't remain in iWeb

I've "set poster frames" in the Quicktime movies that I am importing into iWeb. They appear properly in my working iWeb file but the poster frame I've set doesn't remain after the site is published. The Quicktime poster frame goes back to black. Anyway to fix this?

you can of course set the QT background to any color, I use white, in the Export window. Blends into the background of my page which is also white.

My Poster Frame I set in QuickTime Pro doesn't stay set after export.

I drag my fcp cut into QT Pro. I set the Poster Frame. I choose 'Go to poster frame' to make sure it's set. Then I export it for ipod and open it in itunes and the poster frame is wrong. This has happened twice. Any ideas? Thanks.

Any "Edit" or "Export" will remove many of the features found in the source file.
Things like "Fast Start" (web based files) will be broken if a regular "Save" is used. To preserve them use "Save As".

Poster Frame will not work

After reviewing all of the suggestions here in the forum, I still cannot get Poster Frame to work.
Here is what I have done:
- Published to a Desktop folder and ran the index.html page to see if functionality worked. Did not.
- Trashed iWeb prefs, restarted, the repaired permissions. Still doesn't work.
- Published ALL to Mobile Me. Again won't work.
All I see is the Black frame while the QT file preloads.

In your topic I said that I had managed to get it to work by doing a "Publish All to MobileMe".
That was true but the movie was on an Albums template.
I tried it every which way just now using a movie page and a blank page and using Publish and Publish All.
I can't get it to work.
I have emailed the iWeb development team about this.

How to publish PDF documents with working Quicktime movies?

I am pursuing the idea of creating an eBook format document that features quicktime movies.
At present I've imported Quicktime movies into my Pages 2.0.2 document, and they play perfectly within the Pages application. But, when I export the document as PDF, the movies end up as static images.
Earlier posts in this forum suggest Adobe Acrobat Professional will do this (not a Mac version yet). I am wondering if there are any other solutions that I need to consider?
Any thoughts?

There is a Mac Version of Adobe Acrobat which does this. There was a hiatus when there was some incompatibility between the MacOS, QuickTime and Adobe Acrobat of the time, but as far as I know, everything works fine today.
You may have problems starting with a Pages document though. I think InDesign is the best starting point.

Poster Frame won't work

I set up a poster frame for the video page on my site. I set the page so it does not auto play. But you don't see the poster frame on the site. All you see is black over the movie controller.

FWIW An alternate way to add a movie file to a web page is shown in this demo page. The benefits of this method is that the movie file does not load with the page letting the page load much faster. The movie only loads when the play button is clicked on and then it opens in a separate window sized just for the movie.
ADDEMDUM: I didn't look at your page before posting the above. The method I suggested would only assure a good poster frame on the original page since the movie is the only item on the page. It works most effectively when the movie is on a page with lots of other items and loading time would be a factor.

Shake exports 1,100 individual frames rather than a Quicktime movie

I'm stumped. I rendered a file-out node that was set to Quicktime format and 720p60 codec and I ended up with 1,101 individual Quicktime files, or frames, I guess, rather than a single file, a Quicktime movie that was 1,101 frames long. I've done the same thing many times before, and have always ended up with a Quicktime movie that I could import back into Shake to continue with some more rotoscoping.
Each "file" is 240 kb in size, though when I open them in Quicktime, there seems to be no image there. Just a blank white screen.
Has this happened to anybody else? I cannot see that I have changed anything in my usual workflow settings.
Any advice most appreciated,

"stop" inside AS 2 Frame doesn't work when loaded inside AS 3 swf

I have a flash code where i am loading an AS 2 SWF inside AS 3. The thing is if i put the AS 2 SWF on same domain its working fine but if i put AS 2 SWF on different domain it loads the SWF properly but the "stop()" written inside the AS 2 frame doesnt work... and it keeps on playing all the frames continuously...

Actualy the "stop();" will only work when you don't use external as3 file, instead shift all your file code into frame code and remove the class name.
this is the only way i found out while developing the application.
What i think is there must be some class which we have to include to use the "stop" in the main scene fram.

BPEL process with http-POST service doesn't work

i tried to test a http-POST service. The message i wanted to send is very simple:

I made the same in the bpel-service wsdl for input-variable definition. When i deployed the bpel process and went to the automatically generated client then i had only two input-boxes. One box to type in the 'service' (which is signed as string) and another box to type in the 'Query' (which is signed as anyType). But thats a wrong interpretation of my wsdl. I should type in the 'typeName' which is also a string. Therefore i get an exception at the invoke: "Argument 'GetFeatureIn' is not compatible".
O.K. i tried something different: In the client i din't choose the option 'html-form' but the option 'xml-source' and copied the request-xml in there. The result was another exception earlier (the first assign after the receive). The exception is: "error in evaluate <from>-expression in line "33". The result for the XPath-expression "/client:GetFeature" is empty"
Can anybody help me?

sure you send the right xml?
what I would try is to copy the xml from the receive, paste and extend it, and see if this works . . these errors are mostly because of no namespace defined or such ..
sure your element has the right namespace?

After installing Mavericks, the optical drive doesn't work for movie DVDs, program install DVDs, or music CDs.

The disc loads but is immediately spit back out. I am fairly sure this is an OS X software issue, since blank CDs don't exhibit this behavior. As far as I know, the drive was working fine before installation of OS X 10.9 (actually the machine is at 10.9.1). The machine is a Mac Mini late 2009 with built-in optical drive. I have seen some other discussion of this or a similar issue in the Support Communities and the only suggested fix I have seen is to reset the SMC. I tried that, with no change in the behavior.
Also, the main OS X support page says that Mavericks includes 30 days of free support after install of the product, but when I try to follow any of the links on this page to find the "free" support, all I get are pages that require entering the serial number of the machine, which then tell me that the support for the machine has expired. Anybody know how to access the "free" support for Mavericks? It has definitely been less than 30 days since we installed it on this machine.

After browsing a lot of the "More Like This" links, it appears that a LOT of people are having this problem. It may be that a simple reset of the SMC fixes the issue on later (e.g., maybe >= 2010) Macs. Anybody been able to resolve this issue on a late 2009 Mac Mini?

ITS through Reverse Proxy : Only POST method doesn't work

We are using an Apache Reverse Proxy infront of our Portal and ITS Server
and using https.
Reverse Proxy : 443 > ITS:8443
We have rewrite rules for /sap and /scripts (ITS) /irj (portal) in the
Reverse Proxy .
We have set the following variables through the wgate-config URL of the
ITS server (SetHeader) :
HTTPS on
HTTP_HOST proxy_server:443
All ITS Iviews that use GET mehod display correctly .
However all ITS Iviews that use POST create an Apache Proxy Error.
We believe this is due to HTTP_CONTENT_LENGTH not being set in the ITS .
Do we set this value the same way?
Are there any other ITS settings that would cause this error for POSTS in
a Reverse Proxy ?

There is a way around this (thanks to apple for responding to my bug submission) but it's slow. Test to see if the glyphCode created is greater than zero or not:

Creating a Simple Flash Movie With Poster Frame and Play/Pause Buttons

Hi, It's been over a year since I played with Flash last, and
I have completely forgotten everything I learned.
I have a .flv file which I want to play on my website. It
should display a poster frame when the page load, and not autoplay
the movie. It should have the play button I made in photoshop
sitting on top of the poster frame. When pressed, the movie should
start playing and the button should be shifted for the pause button
I made in PS (it should work just like the play/pause button in
iTunes). When the movie has finished playing, it should jump back
to the poster frame.
I have tried using the flvplayback component and also played
around with just embedding the flv directly and inserting a play
and pause button from the common library, but I can't seem to get
it to work. With the flvplayback component I have managed most of
it apart from using my own buttons and getting the poster frame to
work (which apparently has to be done with Action script).
Any help appreciated.

Which version of Flash/actionscript are you using? Since you
are just starting out, you should read one of Adobe's tutorials on
the matter. Either use Flash Help to find examples on how to use
Flash or go to their website. Here is a great tutorial for someone
just starting out. Make sure you read all three tutorials in "Using
Flash for the first time".
