  • Issue with indirect Quotation Exchange rates...

    Hi All,
I am using FM 'POSTING_INTERFACE_CLEARING'  to clear the customer open items.
While  posting with indirect quotation exchange rates i.e BKPF-KURSF is in negative. It is throwing below error
"The Exchange rate may not be transferred if negative".
When i check it in BKPF table the value is saved like exp: '/1.9010'.  for select query it is picking like '1.9010-'
How to resolve this issue.? it is very urgent.
    Thanks in Adv.
    Regards,
    Raj.

    Hi,
I gave the OB08 entries, not sure if you wanted me to explain the logic. Here it is..
Maintain 'Indirect quotation' from Local currency(USD) to Transaction currency(CAD) and 'Direct quotation' from Transaction currency(CAD) to Local currency(USD).
Direct quotation is where the cost of one unit of foreign currency is given in units of local currency, whereas indirect quotation is where the cost of one unit of local currency is given in units of foreign currency.
    Your local currency is USD:
    - Direct exchange rate: 1CAD = 0.92819 USD
    - Indirect exchange rate: 1USD = 1.08238 CAD
The following settings have been made in the standard system:
      - Direct quotation: ' '
    -   Indirect quotation: ' / '
Direct exchange rates do not have a prefix.
Your local currency is USD. You enter a business transaction in the transaction currency CAD. Until now, you had to use direct quotation to enter the exchange rate (1CAD =0.92819 USD). If you have defined '/' as the prefix for indirect quotation, you can also enter the exchange rate with indirect quotation (1 USD = 1.08238 CAD) by entering '/1.08238' in the exchange rate field.
Direct or indirect quotation can be maintained as the standard form of quotation for a certain currency pair. You use:
             - '1' for direct quotation
             - '2' for indirect quotation
If a standard form of quotation has not been specified for a currency pair, the system automatically uses direct quotation.
You make the settings in the IMG: General Settings -- Currencies -- Set Standard for Direct/Indirect Quotation per Currency Pair.
    Thanks

  • Outgoing payment post different LC amount for same exchange rate as AP INV

    Hi All,
I have this entry in my out going payments linked to a AP down payment that I cannot explain. This is a foreign currency transaction
    1. AP down payment
         FC
USD 381,000 @ document exchange rate of .931277
         LC
         AUD 409115.66
    2. outgoing payment
         FC
USD 381,000 @ document exchange rate of .931277
         LC
         AUD 448,235.29
Although the outgoing payment document exchange rate is same as AP down payment , SAP has applied rate from exchange rate table (@.85)
as a result LC amount is different and its created an exchange gain/loss entry. Any idea why this happen?
    Other info
on payment means screen all transactions in USD and payment is NOT on account.

  • Problem while posting FI document through BAPI - Multiple Exchange Rates

I am able to post FI document with multiple exchange rates for the same currency using FB01. But, when I try to post the same document details using BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST , it throws an error F5 701 - Inconsistent Rate for Currency XXX .
How can we avoid this error while posting through BAPI ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nidhi

    Hi Nidhi,
    Value range
The field CURR_TYPE (currency type) describes the role played by a
        currency in the SAP System.
The currency type can take on the following values, for example:
        o   00      Transaction currency
        o   10      Company code currency
        o   20      Controlling area currency
        o   30      Group currency
        o   40      Hard currency
        o   50      Index-based currency
        o   60      Global company currency
If an entry is not made in the field CURR_TYPE, the default value "00"
        is retained.
If only one data record is transferred in transaction currency for each
line item, the field CURR_TYPE does not need to be filled out. If
several data records are transferred for each line item, the currency
type must be entered for each record.
If the parameter CurrencyAmount is filled with the currency fields,
a complete document check including characteristics and value
components of profitability analysis (CO-PA). Otherwise, the account
    assignment objects are checked.
    Check the BAPI documentation SE37.

  • Post down payment with different currency from request with F-48

    Hi all,
I have a problem when I try to post a vendor down payment with the transaction F-48. The down payment request currency is EUR but I want to do the payment with USD. If I put in the field Currency/Rate USD the transaction F-48 show the message u201CNo suitable down payment request existu201D, but if I put the currency EUR the down payment request appears but I just can post it with EUR.
Is it possible to select the down payment request in EUR and post it with USD using the F-48 transaction?
    Best regards,
    Miguel

    Hello,
I have the same challange like Miguel in the original thread:
"Is it possible to select the down payment request in EUR and post it with USD using the F-48 transaction?"
Please let me know how to manage this case in SAP.
    Kind regards

  • Residual items are created with the current exchange rate

    Hello,
When a residual item is created due to a short payment for an invoice, the residual item is created with the exchange rate that is in effect on that day.  Is it possible to assign the exchange rate equal to the rate that existed on the original invoice.
Thanks in advance for you ideas.
    Karla

    Hi,
You can use transaction FB05 for doing the clearing there you would be able to input the exchange rate you need for clearing the AP/AR/GL items.
But the exchange rate at the time of making/receiving the payment or at the time of clearing is what should be applied.

  • Payment Program and Spot Exchange Rate Type

    Hi Everyone,
When performing wire transfers in foreign currency, my company wants to be able to have the payment program, F110, be able to convert the payment to the vendor based on the bank's spot rate at that moment in time.  I found that we can use exchange rate type "G", update the rate within OB08 prior to running F110, input the exchange rate type "G" within the Parameter section within "Exchange rate type" and process the payment program as normal.
My question is this:  We have a few separate companies that would use this feature with the possibility of receiving different rates from their respective banks.  How would this work if 2 companies had 2 separate exchange rates for the same conversion on the same day?  I found that once you enter in an exchange rate for a conversion, you are stuck with that rate for that particular day, so the amount can not be over written with another rate to be used by the second company code.  Is there a way around this or is there a different way to accomplish the converting of currencies at the payment program?
    Thanks.

    Hi Peter
Use two different exchange rate type for bank1 and bank1. Upload the exchange rate into the system. Select house bank and specified rate type during the payment run.

  • Profit center report with old currency exchange rate

    Dear All,
I have a requirement in PCA reporting. We have maintained exchange rate as 1.86 Egyptian pound to 1 Saudi Rriyal from 01.01.2001 to 31.03.2014. Also, from 01.04.2014 onwards the exchange rate is 1.90 EGP to 1 SAR. When we run PCC report on 05.04.2014 it is picking that day rate as 1.90 and showing the same in PCA report.
But now, my client wants the exchange rate to be calculated with old price 1.86 in the report. Is there any way to pick old exchange rate in PCA reporting?
    BR, Srinivas Salpala

    Hi Srinu
RPC0 applies to CC reports and not PCA reports
I am surprised by your statement that Summary reports derive values based on Current Fx rate
GLPCA and GLPCT are the tables that are used in line item and Summary reports.. check the value in GLPCT and do they match with GLPCA or not
I am still not convinced about your issue.. Why do you need currency conversion in report?
Assume your comp code curr is USD and Cont Area curr is EUR.. You will be able to see all reports in both currencies without any conversion required during report execution. This is because all the transactions are recorded in these two currencies
Ensure that the All Currencies indicator is turned ON for your contr area

  • Currency translation with user defined exchange rates in a BEx report

    Hi guys,
our business department requests a new functionality in our BW system. They want to simulate a currency translation in a BEX report. But this currency translation should be so flexible, that the user can change the exchange rates directly in the report.
For example: The report should show a list of all our local company revenues. In the first column the plan revenues will be shown in the local currency (each company has its own local currency: USA->USD; Japan->YPN, Great Britain->GBP and so on). This revenues comes from a normal infoprovider, loaded via flat-file.
In the second column the user should be able to enter or change a plan currency rate. The entered exchange rates should be stored in BW for a next use. They won't maintain the rates directly in TCURR, because this rates are only for simulation use !
In the third column the translated Revenues in Euro currency has to be shown under the use of the exchange rates from the second column.
I investigated a lot of time in the SAP help and here in the SDN, but I didn't find any solution to realize this. Is there generally a possibility to make a currency translation with exchange rates out of the TCURR? Would it be an option to use the integrated planning function of BW? Or is this requirement to far away for an simple implementation in SAP BI ?
I hope, someone of you has also fixed a similar problem or has a good inspiration.
    Thank you in advance.
    Thomas

    thanks for the prompt reply!
Unfortunately, exchange rates are not a part of my cube. They are held in different tables, and referenced depending on what kind of exchange rates I need to be looking at (average rates, daily, planning etc.). The only way for me, at the moment, to know which rates have been used is to go to query global view, and look at the type of conversion, and then try to figure things out. Plus there can be a different key date used in the query, which makes things more complicated.
    Anyway, it was worth asking
    Thanks again.

  • Currency conversion with the wrong exchange rate type

    Hi,
I need a currency conversion in my bex query. I have defined a currency translation key with a assignment to the exchange rate type "M".
When I check the results in the query it works with exchange rate type "EURX".
Exchange rates are in the TCURR.
    Can anyone help me.
    Thanks in advance
    Jürgen

    Hello,
We just had the same issue, and in checking the Currencies: Translation Ratios in transaction OBBS, I noticed that the currency translation key in question was set up with an entry of "EURX" in the "Alt. ERT" column.
I copied the line and created a new entry with a "Valid From" date of the current month, but without the "EURX" Alt. ERT alternate and that seemed to solve it.
Anything entered with a date after the new Valid From date would use the manually entered exchange rate, while anything with a prior date continued to use the EURX rate.
It appears to me that the "Alt. ERT" functions more as an override than an alternate, so if you want the system to actually use the "M" rate, I believe you have to ensure there is nothing in the "Alt. ERT" column.
    I hope this helps.

  • Automatic payments with no Business Area aggregation

    Hello,
I am trying to run an automatic payment program for one vendor and the system splits the open items by Business area. But I donu2019t want that. I would like to aggregate line items in one, if my payment is just one.
I've check my customization and in transaction FBZP, on selection "All Company codes" I donu2019t have the field "Separate Payments for each Business Area" selected.
Do I need any other customization?
    Does anyone know some?
Thank you very much for your attention.
    Regards.
    Rita

    Dear Rita,
In order to check Business Area Payment go to FI12 and verify if you have some Business Place assigned for your Home Bank definitions. You can also check in F110 parameters tab if there is some B.P. assigned for.

  • Error when posting Down payment with reference to down payment request

    Hi Experts,
In October of 2010 we upgraded from version SAP 4.7 to version 604 SAPKH60406.
With this upgrade we decided to select the following FM setting:
"Flag to activate down payment request update to PO history"
If this flag is set, down payment requests are updated to the purchase order history. In addition, when you create a down payment referencing this down payment request , the down payment request is cleared by the down payment.
Use- Set this flag if you want to see the down payment requests  in the purchase order history.
So, since October 2010, the Down payment requests have been updated to the PO history (note - no update of the down payment request was made to the PO status tab) and the down payments (made with reference to the down payment request) have been clearing the DP requests.
Today we have applied packages SAPKH60407 - SAPKH60409 and we are in the process of testing.
Now we are experiencing errors when processing down payments:
    1. create the down payment request (F-47) - this is OK
    2. create the down payment (F-48) with reference to the down payment request - ERROR MESSAGE F5373 - "Order value will be exceeded"
Can anyone please explain why this is happening?  We would like to keep the "Flag to activate DPR update to PO history" ON
as it has been since October 2010.
    Thanks,
    Michelle
