Posting date or document date

hi all,
for baseline date, i can base on posting date or document date.
may i know where in spro, we can define the baseline date to be based on posting date or document date to calculate the net due date depending on the days in payment term?
example
posting date 20-08-2008
document date 18-08-2008
payment term 10 days
so net due date is either 30-08 or 28-08 depending on posting or document date.
thanks

Hi,
When you are creating a payment term with Tcode OBB8, there a radio button option is available. Choose among the four options.
1) Posting Date
2) Document Date
3) Entry Date
$) No Default.
Hope this will fix ur issue.
Thanks,
Srinu

  • Translation date from document date instead of posting date

I have a requirement to set automatically Translation date from Document Date instead of Posting Date as usual in SAP.
My company code hasnu2019t got neither 2nd local currency nor 3rd local currency.
As usual, when posting transactions in foreign currency, translation date is derived from posting date.
I would like to know if is possible to set that translation date would be derived from document date. As I said before, because of the company code only has one currency defined, is not possible to change it in OB22.
    Thanks a lot

Has anyone ever tried to change the Translation date on the FI documents generated by F.05 (FBB1). I am having this requirement at one of the clients I am working on. I need to substitute the document date in the translation date field. I tried using substitution through GGB1 (OBBH) and also I tried using the BADI - FI_TRANS_DATE_DER, but none of the two options work.
Is there any other option to do it or did anyone had any success in doing this????
    Appreciate all the responses.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I don't have $38.10.number in my query. Where did you get this field?
    please follow below steps:
    1. Run above query in generator. Sure it gives an error message and ignore this message.
    2. save it under query manager
    3. Assign this FMS at AP invoice posting date and set auto refresh when customer vendor refer is changed.

  • Approval for Contract and Order based on PO date and Document Date Combinat

    Dear All,
I have a critical requirement from my client.
    1. If the PO date in the contract is less than 10 days or more of the document date [Created date] then further process should not be allowed. Only authorized person should release the contract, and then order creation should be possible.
For example: Customer PO date is 18-07-2011 and if the document date is 28-08-2011, then system should stop for further processing. Only after release this should be allowed to proceed.
    2. Sales order scheduled date for item is 30.07.2011 and if the PO date is 18.07.2011 again system should again go for approval. Business requires this because the time gap between the PO date and the delivery date is very short, so only on approval the next process should be allowed.
Is this possible through Status profile? I have tried this but I canu2019t give condition like if it less than the PO date system should go for approval.
Kindly guide me if this is possible and share your ideas.
    Best Regards,
    Venugopal

    Hi Venu,
In user eixt USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAP (inlcude MV45AFZZ) write the code to compare the PO date and contract creatioon date and if the PO date is 10days less than the contract creation date reject all the line items with a special reason for rejection at the item level if the document is a contract or if the document is a sales order then populate a delivery block.
Regarding the authorization to release the contract you can think of below options.
Give authorization to only specific people to remove the reason for rejection or  remove the delivery block.
    Or
If you want to automate the approval process then based on the delivery block setup workflow which will raise an event and trigger an email to the approver inbox. For the approval you can give options like Approve/Reject. Based on the apporver's action design the workflow to change the contract accordingly i.e either removing the delivery block or keep it as it is.

  • To date for document date field in setup initialization

    Hello All,
We are filling setup table for 2LIS_02_SCL and we are giving the restriction on document date in transaction oli3bw. Since there is a very large amount of data, we are restricting the start document date by 18.06.2009.
We would like to run regular deltas after initialization. So should we enter an end date ?
Can we enter 31.12.9999 as the end date ?
Please suggest  the end date for the document date selection.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Radhika

There is no need to setup an end date on your InfoPackages because once you create and schedule the delta job for this extractor in LBWE, it will capture the deltas for you no matter the dates on the purchasing document.
When doing your initialization on BW, don't put any selections. Just do an Init w/o Data Transfer and then do concurrent Full Repair extracts using the same selection criteria you did for the setup jobs. You'll get improved throughput by doing this, especially if you execute multiple InfoPackages, with different selection criteria, in parallel.
Once you have your delta job scheduled, you can then execute a delta InfoPackage.

  • Posting date,defferal date,document date

    Gurus,
Please explain the difference of posting data and document date?
How due date of a document is calculated..?
when we are going to use the defferal date is used?
    Regards,
    Ramesh

    Ramesh,
Please explain the difference of posting data and document date?
Posting date is the date on which you want the document to be posted.
Document date is the date on which you usually enter the document.
How due date of a document is calculated..?
    From Payment Terms
when we are going to use the defferal date is used?
If you want Due date to be differed , you use deferral date. This overwrites the due date
    Hope this helps

  • Wanted brief idea about posting date, document date, entry date

    Hi guyz!
basically am an tech consultant. But wanted to have brief idea about the following business process. scenario is like this:
in inventory management, we are doing some inter facility transfer. i.e., for a particular plant, we are having multiple storage locations. so due tosome reasons, we are transfering stock from one storage location to another storage location. so in this context can anybody say what are the followings:
    1. posting date
    2. document date
    3. entry date
    waiting for proper response.
    manas

    Hi Manas,
The Document Date is the date in which the business transaction for the Documente(e.g., a transfer of posting) took place. The document date is the date on which the original document was issued.
The document date can, for example, refer to the creation date of the delivery note issued by the vendor or the internal goods receipt slip.
The Posting Date determines the posting period and defines in which fiscal period a document will post (regardless of the Document or Entry date). It is the date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling. The periods that are permitted for posting are determined by Accounting Services. This is the date that G/L Account Balances are updated.
The fiscal year and the period for which an update of the accounts specified in the document or cost elements is made, are derived from the posting date. The Posting Date will override the Fiscal Period entered on a document if they are different.
When entering documents, the system checks whether the posting date entered is allowed by means of the posting period permitted.
The posting date can differ from both the entry date (day of entry into the system) and the document date (day of creation of the original document).
The Entry Date is the date the transaction was actually "permanently entered" into R/3.
Note: It is possible that an invoice was issued with a Document Date of 6/15/98, entered into R/3 on 7/15/98 (Entry Date) with a Posting Date of 6/30/98 (to post the Document in the previous fiscal year). Many times, all three of these dates are the same.
    Thanks,
    Susmitha.

  • Marking posting and document date mandatory in REM backflush.

    Hi PP Gurus,
Here the requirement is to make Posting date and Document date in Transaction code MFBF **mandatory* without any default entry*. Right now system is populating Current date as Posting date as well as Document date. We checked user exit XMRM0001 but we don't know the functionalities of function modules available with this User exit. We also checked Screen variants using Transaction code SHD0 but it is not working, we think it is due to Posting date and Document date are already mandatory through program (might be).
What will be possible best solution?
Waiting for your prompt and kind replies.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Abu Arbab

    Hi Siva,
The requirement is to remove Posting date and Document date. That is because in this scenario one day latter backflush is there, we mean to say today's production will be confirmed tomorrow.
The thing is we can achieve the same using Manufacturing Date field in MFBF screen and other confirmation screens too if SLED is active for that material in Material master record. But here in this case we are not using the this.
That's why I posted my requirement to forum.
We resolved the issue doing some changes in standard program for object R3TR-FUGR-BARM after getting access key from SAP.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Abu Arbab

  • Difference between Document date & Posting date

    Dear Gurus
KIndly clarify me the difference between the document date and posting date in GR(MIGO)
    Thanx
    MK

    HI,
Document date:The document date is the date on which the original document was issued.
Posting Date: Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling. The posting date can differ from both the entry date and the doc date.
    Example:
There is goods receipt happening on 9th sep, 2008 along with it the invoice also comes dated 8th sep, 2008.
Suppose u post the entry on the same date in ur SAP system the day u recvd the goods, i.e. u credit the vendor on good receipt date, then the document date in this case will be 8th sep, 2008. the posting date will be 9th Sep, 2008.
The entry date is the actual date on which u make entry in SAP the system date. So entry date can be diffrent from posting date in this case

  • Running Aging reports based on Document date in 2007

    Hi All,
I have an issue while running the Receivables aging report in the 2007 version. The customer usually runs the reports based on the document date. Document date holds more importance in their case.
However, in the 2007 version, the aging report is totally governed by the posting date. For example, if I change the aging date, the posting date also changes to the aging date and viceversa. If I want to change the aging date to 01/31/09, the posting date u2018Tou2019 automatically changes to 01/31/09 and when we run the report, it will bring in all transactions until the posting date of 01/31/09.
But, the requirement is to leave the posting date as blank and give the document date u2018Tou2019 01/31/09. This will then pull all transactions until the document date of 01/31/09 irrespective of the posting date.
As a result, when you run the balance sheet with the document date of 01/31/09, receivables show a different balance. This discrepancy is due to the fact that AR Receivable aging report forces to keep the Aging date = Posting date.
This was not the case in SAP 2005 version where we were allowed to key in the aging date and the document date to get results based on document date.
This is very critical as they have recently upgraded from 2005 to 2007 and they are unable to reconcile the balances out of Balance sheet and Aging.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Payal

    Hi Jitin,
We tried that as well but no luck. There is still a discrepency between what the aging shows and what the BS shows. When we put the Aging date as 01/31/09 and Document date as 01/3109, the posting date 'To' is automatically filled with 01/31/09, so it basically searches for all transactions with the posting date 01/31/09 and document date 01/31/09. This is not the requirement as we do not want to consider the posting date at all while running the aging.
I also have some screenshots if I can share. I am not sure if I should report this to SAP for further investigation or am I missing something here.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Payal

    Hi,
Posting Date: Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling. The posting date can differ from both the entry date and the doc date.
Document Date: The document date is the date on which the original document was issued. Ex: Inv date, Bill date etc.,
