Posting duplicates in the forum

Hi,
This is regarding Expdp Scheduler objects Open mode Redo logs I had an issue with Export and DBMS_SCHEDULER. I was not sure as to whether a DBA specialized in Export will be able to solve the issue or whether a person specialized in Scheduler will be able to resolve the issue. Also I wanted to provide my colleagues inputs from both the above specialists regarding the issue. Kindly allow an exception to the Posting duplicates rule in this case.
Sometimes I don't find answers to my questions. For example a query regarding SCHEDULER, RULES, RULESETS was posted by me in Scheduler forum in August. I had to move it to PL/SQL forum as there was no answer to my query. In such scenarios, I cannot drop the initial thread as it was primarily a SCHEDULER implementation using PL/SQL.
Kindly indicate to me the rule with respect to issues involving multiple concepts. We might have questions regarding all the concepts involved in the issue.

Jabberwock, the experiment went like a slide on ice.
I did say that I would return in 15 minutes to edit a second time, but I got tied up in other things and returned to my office in about 40 minutes. I clicked onto my post as it existed in the forum list, but when it came up, it did not have that icon of the pen, so I figured that too much time had elapsed and I just let it go.

Edit: Oh oh. I think I discovered what might have happened. When I sent this message to be posted, a copy of the message remained "behind." THAT message had the pen icon on it. So my mistake was to go to the forum topic list for my message rather than to return to that particular page that acts like a holding tank for messages that I recently posted.
I might be way off base here, and if I am I hope someone clarifies so that anyone who is just starting out won't be misled by what I say here.....

Yes, it's correct when you say there is no forum reserved for
Oracle 8i subject, but it's also true that there are more
appropriated forums to post messages about Oracle 8i than
9iLite! For example: "Administration->Install and
Upgrade", "Database->General", and others more specific - if you
are having trouble in Oracle 8i on a Linux platform than you can
try "Platforms->Linux", ...
I think this forum ("9iLite") has no direct connection
with "Oracle 8i", if there isn't any issue that joins directly
Oracle Lite with Oracle Database.
This cross threading out-of-topic can corrupt at middle time the
nature of this or any other forum, and prejudice above all the
few ones that are trying to get the assistance in the right
forum.

Problem posting images on the forum (color depth)

I was posting an idea on CVI idea exchange board and was continuously getting a generic error ("Codice di errore: caricamento non riuscito" which means "error code: unsuccessful loading") while trying to add an image.
After several studies and attempts I realized that the problem is not in the image size or name or whatsoever element but rather in the color depth: it arises with 32-bit images, while you can post 24-bit images without problems. This applies to other forum boards as well (just tested on CVI board and this actual message), I suppose it is a general rule.
I don't seem to have noted any note on this in the forum help: there exists some documentation on which objects the forums accept as attachments? You know: file types, image types and characteristics, object sizes and so on...

Click the "Insert Image" icon up in the tool bar when you compose a reply. It's immediately to the right of the "Insert Link" icon that looks like a chain link.
Some images have to wait for Moderators to clear them. This is to prevent users from posting obscene photos, etc.

How Do you post screenshots on the forum?

Sorry, I know this is the wrong place, but I didnt find the right one, and since I have a MacBook.
Anyway, does anyone know how to put screenshots in posts, because I've seen someone do it (http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7561126#7561126).
I have a problem which I think needs a screenshot to help to explain, so can someone tell me how to put one one please??

[SOLVED :)]How do I record error messages to post to the forum?

My setup:
Win 7 running Arch on VBox
Arch networking is set up and working
Nothing installed except for vim, links, + many packages included at install
Issue:
Having trouble installing xorg-server (etc, stuff needed for GUI)
So I have all these error messages, and I would like to post them to the forum and they're too long to type. Supposing I didn't just want to summarize or tell you the gist of the message, how would I copy the whole thing and post it to these forums. I'm sure there are many ways, so let's hear some!
I can already redirect to file with:
pacman -S <package list> > errors.txt 2>&1
How would I grab that data from my VBox install and send it either from Arch or from Win7?
*Edit*: I /am/ able to install some things with pacman -S <package> (like vim).

I have. I've tried other distros and each one of them had problems. So to solve my problems, I'm going to need to understand linux more. For that reason, I chose Arch. And if I take too long, on one thing, how do I know that what I am doing is the smart way to do it? I need the bigger picture for that. So I need to carefully manage what little time I have on Earth, and use all I know, all my intuition to make the right decision at each step, and sometimes that decision is either: try something else, get help from someone else, understand something more, sleep on it. I lost my point somewhere in there. But yeah, I am an able to learn, in my own way, what I want, and when I want to. When the time comes for me to teach, I will understand my pupils, and encourage them, knowing each one is relatively unique in their goals and plans for Arch or w/e I'm teaching them.

(OT) Something changed on the forums today that fouled up Safari

Basically, in Safari you cannot copy and paste a link from a discussion to a new window or open a discussion in a new tab or window without getting a Forbidden error. Happened today on all three machines that we have running the latest Safari. Funny thing is that we did the update December 14 and the problem only showed up this afternoon...

I'm new to the forum & Adobe Designer.
My question is that I want to recieve all forum messages to my email rather visiting forum page every time, can you pls help me how to set it up.
Infact, I setup to recieve full email message in preferences but no luck recieving the mails.

I think that's how the digest email option works. You will get all the new messages in the forums that you subscribe send to you at the time you set.
If you choose to notify you choose not to, you will receive email notification as new message being posted. In the email will have a link that link back to the newly posted message from the forum.

How to unsubscribe some topic in the forum

Hello,everybody.
I have subscribed the discussion topic of this forum,I am delight that the other users would response for the topic which I have posted to help me.
But I found that the forum have send many topics to my email box everyday,and most of these topics are not relative with the questions I want to discuss with the other users,I must spend time on deleting the Email items.Therefore,How can I unsubscribe the topic which is not relative with my questions in order to tell the manager not to send those topic item to my Email box.If anybody can tell me how to solve it.

For the past week or so I no longer see the toolbar in the Comcast Help Forums to reply to a post made in that forum. Has there been a change made to my iPad 3 settings and how to fix it?

Has something changed in the iPad 3? I Go to the Comcast Help Forums daily as a Volunteer Moderator and for the past week or so when I open a post in the Forum and attempt to reply to the post, ai no longer have a toolbar which contains different options that should be
available to me. Such as quote, font. Font size, inserting a link or image,etc.
Now- I do not have a toolbar at all! I already contacted Lithium who is the company that creates and maintains the Comcat Help F or umps.
What has happened and how do I resolve this? I would not be at all happy if Apple has done something that is now preventing me access.
I use my iPsd 3 daily for monitoring and helping in the Comcast Help Forums.

If this is what you are used to seeing in the Comcast forum, you need a browser that can identify as a desktop browser. Safari does not do this. I am using iCab Mobile and this is what the forum looks like when I sign in.

Sometime i found very difficuties and time taking process in putting questions in forum bcos i have to elaborate the whole pictorial process in words.
Why Cant we make our this forum more Interactive in way of asking questions by allowing us to attach print preview of what we face in the system.

When posting to a forum the new version of Firefox does not show the post. When I start up IE and go to the forum there is the post. However Firefox 4 will not show the post. How can I fix this issue?

Recently I upgraded to Firefox 4. I frequent various forums where I post advise on various subjects. I am finding that version 4 is showing the threads in the forums, allowing me to log in and to post. However the posts as sent in are not coming up at all, even if I get out and return, the page is not "refreshed."

this is a follow up from the profane post earlier....
i have done this twice in two other posts..
here is my problem.. i started off trying to update itunes, it failed twice and said i needed to install manually via tools.
the only place to get to tools is the pop up box that appears when you click check for updates.. if there is an available update then the pop up shows up with the quick time and itunes files to download. so i finally figured that out. i clicked on tools and manual update, four files were saved to a file. Apple mobile device support, another one similar, itunes, and another one i cant remember. I only downloaded the itunes file seeing as though thats all i needed to accomplish in the first place.
so then i restarted my computer bc you need to reboot and then reopen itunes for update to take effect. once i have itunes back open i plugged in my new 5s which i am trying to sync to my computer to get all my stuff back bc i lost my previous phone over the weekend.. once i plugged the phone in an error stating i needed to unistall the apple mobile device support and itunes and then reinstall. well i dont know where those files were originally stored on my computer AND since my itunes was updated, just not the other 3 associated files, when i click check for updates it says its up to date and then pop up containing the quick time and itunes does not pop up thus i cant get back to the tools tab to manually save the 4 files again.
so i was just going to uninstall itunes all together and then i thought well what happens if it erases all my photos apps songs etc... which would defeat the whole purpose in the first place of me trying to sync my new phone to get all my stuff back.
so i literally have no idea what to do at this point.. if you have read this you are probably just as confused as me...

I also can't see your thread in the thread list.
The forums have been having problems for about the last week or two with 'Internal
Server Error' issues, but this is the first I've heard of threads not appearing after being created.
The quickest way to reach the forums team will be to send in an email to fissues (at) microsoft [dot] com. Make sure you include a link to that thread and hopefully they can get the forum back into sync.

Drag drop images while composing the forum post

Hi All,
Many time I felt like it would be good if we can drag drop images to the forum post being composed. Similar to Gmail compose, if NI forum composition page also has that drag drop feature, it would be great. But I'm wondering if it's only me or other people are also out there looking for this feature.

I have tried to implement this bean but I'm having problems. I've been using your
LAF package for almost 4 years now without issue. I tried the jar file from the zip
file. I also created a new project and recompiled the java code against the 10.1.2.3
frmall.jar file that matches our app server. I resigned it and it's still not working.
Maybe I'm just missing something simple. When I compile and run the form, I see
the canvas and I can change the text fields, but I don't see how I can drag and
drop items. Hopefully, you can think of something that can fix our problem. I would
love to be able to use drag and drop functionality in an upcoming application.
We're running the following versions:
App Server: 10.1.2.3
DB: 10.2.0.5
JDev: 10.1.3.3.0
Windows XP for the clients
Windows Server 2008 for the servers

Edit: I looked in my java console and saw that my issue was that we signed this jar file with a different certificate. I created a special config as Francois has suggested in another post and included only the DnD.jar file and it worked. However, I can't get the image or multi-line text areas to drag and drop. I'll keep poking around and see if I can figure out what's going on. The console seems to recognize when I'm dragging and dropping from all fields.
