Posting IDocs into the same system

Hello Experts,
We are having a requirement where-in we have to created a IDoc for the failed message in our RFC and hence it should be created in our own system and should be having status Error (Red).
Is there any function module by which we can create the IDocs without specifying the receiver port. We tried debugging MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE FM at IDOC_CREATE_ON_DATABASE but it also expects the receiver information.

No we haven't specified dummy partner. so we have to create a partner profile with the dummy receiver? And what port we should specify? Should it point to the same RFC destination?

Error while posting idoc in the receiving system.

i have processed idoc in the same system( sending and receiving idoc in the same system ) by creating a dummy logical sys and uploading a text file for customer details.The outbound processing is succesful and it shows a status message 3. But duriing the inbound processing it shows status as 51 with error as 'ENTER VALID VALUE'. but when testing using we19 it is posted sucessfully without any error..is there anything that i have to configure to process inbound idoc sucessfully?? can any suggest me the correct method for doing this.. suggestions please..

Hi,
you need to make sure that in WE20 inbound processing parameters for you LS is maintained propperly. You need to give correct function module and enter whether IDoc should be processed immediately or IDocs should be collected and processed as batch. Also you may check whether the distribution model (BD64) is maintained correctly for the specific message type in the system for inbound processing.

Iam creating INBOUND IDOCS from flat file ...so my sending and recieving systems are same...
In WE20 i have setup the logical system and assigned inbound parameters with message type and proces code.
Iam using IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS to create the inbound IDOCS but iam getting the error
EDI: Partner profile inbound not available
It looks like iam missing some settings here..
Please let me know what checks i need to make sure to get rid of this error and post the idoc.

Hi,
You need to create the partner profile in WE21 - Type Port.
You need to give the directory name and the inbound file name. Just do the access test available to check if the file is accessible.
Also create the process code in WE42 and maintain the processing FM.

Create Sales order from a Purchase order through IDOCs in the same system

Hi,
I have been trying to create Sales ordes in the same SAP system, through the Purchase order generated.
The Purchase order generated, passes the information through an outbound I DOC to a SO inbound I doc, I am getting the following error
Partner number A2815 for customer 2815 , partner function WE does not exist.
Message no. VG140
but in my case the ship to party (partner function WE) is the same as Sold to party (partner function AG)
can any body please help how to map it

Hello Sreeram ,
See note 1339290, which corrects the parameters of error message VG140.
Also, the sold to party (SP) is determined in several ways:
1. If the sender partner in the control record is a logical system (LS), an E1EDKA1 segment with the SP must be sent.
E1EDKA1-PARVW = AG
E1EDKA1-PARTN = valid partner in the receiving system
Otherwise the system takes the partner number from the control record into the field E1EDKA1-PARTN and this is not a valid partner.
2. If the sender partner in the control record is a SP, we take this SP from the sender partner into the sold-to party number. Excepted another SP was sent in the segment E1EDKA1-PARNR, then the SP from the control record has no effect.
The E1EDKA1 segment for the SP should be sent always before the E1EDKA1 segment of the ship-to party (SH).

Is it possible to pass the idoc between the same client

Is it possible to transfer the idoc between the same system. I do not have two clients . I have only one client access. Is it possible to pass the idoc between the same client.

This would not be possible as when you have to create the logical systems, you cannot create two entries for the same client.
And while defining the partner profiles as well.
IDocs are basically for two systems or two clients.
YOu may not require IDoc in one system itself.

InfoSpoke as Data Source in the same system

Hello Expert,
I try to include the result of infospoke as transparent table (the source of infospoke is a basic cube), this table I need to include as DataSource for using into other cube into the same system.
The transparent table is generated succesfully, but when I try to generate generic data source (SAVE), the system indicate a message:
Invalid extract structure template /BIC/OHZRD_MMC_S of data source [name datasource].
So it is very urgent and importat because it is part of a possible solution if anybody could help me in this hole or if exist other solution to my problem, please tell me.

I have not tried this method, as i will suggest the use of export data source , rather than extracting to a table and then loading to other data target.
Now you are taking a long routelike: Cube-> open hub->table->datasource->data target
if you use an export data source: Cube-> export datasource-> data target
now, the scenario cant avoid such modeling of infospoke , then the option is to create a view bsed on the generated table and create the datasource on top of the view.

Automatic Posting Between 2 companies in the same system

Dear colleagues:
I have the following scenario:
a) Companies GS01 and GS02 are both in the same system.
b) Company GS01 paids the telephone bill for both companies.
c) Company GS01 charges or bills the proportionale part of the telephone bill to company GS02
d) Company GS02 creates an account to pay and pays to GS01
e) Company GS01 applies the payment and the bill is concluded.
My customer wants to optimize the process. I found the following document in the wikki part of this forum and did the customizing as it is explained:

We are using this for some cross-company charges for services. One company is set up as a vendor and another as a sold-to party (in your scenario company GS01 is a vendor and GS02 is a sold-to) with the special customer account type for inter-company billing.
We create a special sales document (VA01), then bill it in VF01 (it's order-related billing). There is a EDI output RD04 assigned to the corresponding billing document. This automatically creates an outbound IDoc and an inbound IDoc, which posts an FI document to Company 1.
There is some configuration required in SPRO and partner profiles need to be maintained in WE21. I think SAP Help and the link above explain it rather well.

Post IDOC internally in same SAP system

Hi All,
I used IDOC to send data from SAP to XI in my previous assignments.
Now i have a requirement wherein i need to use an idoc to post data within SAP i.e in the same system. This is because incase the idoc fails the end user can correct the data and re-process the idoc and post it again. though its not so recommended its agreeded upon in the design phase.
now my doubt is in MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE should i set the control record so that it points to the same system which means the port i create which has an RFC which will point to the same system from where the report is run. is this the correct way.

You can test in the same system
But make sure that the using partner profile(WE21) is having Collect IDOC's option so that the IDOC are not transferred to the target system.

How to check the status of an IDoc in the Target system

Hi Experts,
we are using a self-made program to send Material and BOMs from Client A to Client B into the same ERP System.
How can I check the status of an IDoc in the Target Client B (like BD87 - ALE Monitor) ?

As mentioned in the earlier reply you can check your status with tcodes:-BD87,WE02,WE05.What i guess from your querry is the staus of your idoc whether posted or not in target client B.Check in the target client for the message type which you are using (since its an program that means you must be using an customised idoc type or standard) .You might have maintained Basic type tcode:-WE30.Give in your messagetype,Basictype,Created at and executed using tcode :- BD87.The prerequisites are you need to create an Partner Profile(WE20) .For this you need to create to provide in your message type and Process code(we41,we42,we57).If you have to create an process code for customised one(se37) .You need to actuivate the idoc inbound processing .If you are using a file in your file make it sure the port is being maintained for the same to chek for unicode format in tcode :-WE21 (check or uncheck).
For standard BOM i recon you are using message type :-BOMMAT and Processing code as:-BOMM.Its always advisible that instead of using an whole abap program you need to have an ETL tool that would take care of the extraction of data provided your client do have existing Legacy system in its place since it would be much faster and easier.

1 SAP Console for 2 clients (on the same system)

We are merging two business units on 1 SAP system. In the beginning they will both have their own client on the same system.
Within both BU's SAP Console is being used. Can we use one SAP Console for both clients?
Or are separate SAP Consoles needed?
If it is possible to use 1 SAP Console, please let me know how (what to do).

Instead of read-only access to each other's iTunes directories, I followed instructions posted elsewhere on this forum and have ITunes in both accounts pointing to the same physical file. From my account, I can see all the songs, both the ones loaded from CDs and the ones downloaded from ITunes (using my ITunes account). From her account, she can see the songs I loaded from CD, but not any of the songs I've downloaded.
If I share my ITunes library, then she can open the shared file and see all of the songs, downloaded as well as those from CDs. However, if she selects any of the downloaded songs, she cannot put them into playlists or otherwise copy them to her IPod.
She doesn't have an ITunes account. Her ITunes is set up to use my account and is one of the two authorized "Computers" for my account. I thought that going into ITunes and authorizing my ITunes-account would have solved the problem, but it doesn't.
I'm running the latest ITunes (Macintosh) software, version 7.0 (7.0).

ECC and BW in the same system - Gotchas?

From the documents, and from the information from SAP, it appears that BW 3.5 can be installed into an ERP 2004 / ECC 500 system. Does anyone have any experience with this during the ECC 5 rampup?
I have a client that is considering this and would like to know of any gotchas before we hit them.
For instance the documents mention you need to tune the Oracle database with the parameter "star_transformation_enabled=true", which is normally used in a BW system. What impact, if any, will that have the ECC side of things?

Just to respond to your post and clarify some of the areas.
1. The mySAP ERP 2004 ECC 5.0 and it's internal SAP BW is <b>not</b> an MCOD implementation. The SAP BW is internal with the ECC (same instance, same database schema, and same database. Whereas MCOD is different instances, different schemas, but same database. One important point is that MCOD and mySAP ERP 2004 fully support three tier architecture.
2. MCOD was <u>not</u> recommended for a mix of OLTP and OLAP applications on all databases until recently (e.g. recommended for SAP R/3 Enterprise and mySAP SRM but not SAP R/3 Enterprise and SAP BW). This has recently changed where a combination of OLTP and OLAP is now supported: See http://service.sap.com/mcod or see SAP note 712777.
3. SAP BW Performance: In a mySAP ERP 2004 ECC 5.0 system with the internal SAP BW functionality active, the system must be configured for both the transaction processing and OLAP functions. This configuration must include load balancing if you have high usage. Without load balancing you are unable to target activities to specific servers or separate different user groups. Obviously if you have only one server load balancing is not available. It is strongly recommended to use the three system configurations for SAP ERP applications and SAP BW.
4. Automatic multiple Instance shutdown:
For MCOD this is not the case that shutting down one system in your MCOD installation will also shutdown your other MCOD systems; this only happens if you also close the database (remember it is the only part that this shared). The instances can be started and shutdown independently.
For the internal SAP BW within ECC 5.0 you have "one system" so if you shut it down, you really shut it down.
5. Impact of applying patches or doing client copies:
For MCOD systems, the systems are independent and can be patched and administered independently. The only common part is the database. The database maintenance and patching does affect all the connected MCOD systems. For processes like system copies, these are also independent of the other systems. Obviously if you share the same server for the different systems you need to take care with CPU and memory usage of these functions.
As SAP BW within ECC 5.0 is the same system, you have to patch the system all at once (recommendation is to use SP-Stacks). A SAP_BASIS support package applied to ECC is also applied to SAP BW at the same time. With regard to client copies, client copies are only supported for ERP 'OLTP' clients (not for the SAP BW client).
6. "The headaches just are not worth it....especially since server prices are low"
I would not totally agree with this comment. For mySAP ERP this low price server argument also works for adding more app servers to ERP and doing load balancing. The use of MCOD or the internal SAP BW within ECC will be made on a number of factors by the customer with different weighting being applied to each of the Pros and Cons.
The new "internal SAP BW within ECC 5.0" gives customer's system architects more options and increases the flexibility of the total solution in general (delivery of a centralized EDW, deliver of operation reporting, deliver of application or organization specific datamarts to name a few). With more options and flexibility, more decision points need to be reviewed and analyzed which can be a good thing.

Multiple agentry servers installed in the same system?

Hello Experts,
There are two agentry servers installed in the same system,but in different drives(C and D drive).I have given access to one server remotely,in the sense the applications to the server in one drive are published by other developers who are connecting to the server through network. In the other drive server iam publishing the applications developed locally.But after deployment,when i connect to the server to retrieve definitions,iam getting the latest application published.
Is this situation possible,because when we connect to the server we are using ip address of the system where the server is installed,if both the servers are running in different drives,then which server application will be deployed,Is there any possibility to connect to the server instances(in my system two server instances),so that the application that is deployed to individual servers can be retrieved?

Hi Sravanthi,
I do not believe that you can run two Agentry Servers on the same hardware without making other changes (like running them on SMP 2.3). I would suggest that you look into the documentation for SMP 2.3 as your best solution at this time. Hopefully some more savvy Agentry folks will chime in with a more detailed response.

How to send IDoc to the same client of the same system, e.g. for testing purpose? It seems I can't use the same logical system as both source and target in Distribution Model (SALE).

You wont be able to send it to same client. You can create/copy one more client assign logical system and try to perform your activity.

Yes, it's possible. That's exactly how iCloud works.
First check your settings. Make sure your phone and Mac are both signed into the same iCloud account in Settings (System Preferences)>iCloud and that contact syncing is enabled on both. Then on your phone, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the Calendars section) and select your iCloud calendar as your default. On you Mac, open the Calendar application and go to Calendar>Preferences>General and make sure your iCloud calendar is selected in the drop-down list next to Default Calendar.
Then add a test calendar event on both your Mac and your phone, go to icloud.com from your computer and check to see if they both appear there, as well as on the other device. If so, they are properly syncing now. If not, let me know which one does not appear on icloud.com.

Configuring tomcat and apache on the same system

i need to configure tomcat and apache on the same system.
first i have configured apache and it is working well.
Next is have configured tomcat and it is working well.
i need to interlink tomcat and apache. so i downloaded jk connector and i have configured it.
i gave an entry in the httpd.conf as
Include /tomcat/conf/auto/mod_jk.conf
i have copied the file mod_jk.so to /usr/local/apache/libexec/
went i start apache after the entry is given it gives the error like this
cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_jk.so into server: ld_so.1. /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: fatal : libgcc_s.so.1 : openfailed : no such file or directory in linux
please help to configure this.
i have done every thing as it is in apache.org documentation. please give the complete configuration. some say that tomcat is not compiled according to apache1.3. but i configure jk connector as --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs

I'm working in a linux machine and choose to use also two different users. Of course I'm using two different ORACLE_HOME directories.I think that the best approach.Just a question ,are you keeping the "GROUP" same or different?
