Posting iPhone photos online

Is there a (free) way to take photos with the 3g iphone and then upload them online or add them as an attachment (e.g., attaching files to a UBB post) without the use of a PC? For example, if I'm traveling without my Powerbook and I want to post photos I take on my favorite bulletin board.
I don't have MobileMe.
Thanks!

i think its pretty obnoxious that your favorite bulletin board doesnt allow for email updates (blogger), or create an app for you to do so (countless photo apps in app store).
i also think its pretty obnoxious that my phone doesnt make my coffee in the morning or drive me around. i mean, i paid $500 for it, it should at least be able to do basic things like that.
and in case its not coming through loud and clear, </sarcasm>

There is no way to view your photos via iCloud.com. Videos are not uploaded.
Photo Stream merely "pushes" the photos to your other devices.

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

  • PNG files sent to iphone Photo App do not appear on 'date taken' (manually added in windows explorer)

I have over 1000 PNG files that do not have exif 'date taken'. They only have exif 'date created or modified'
The 'date created/modified' is not the actual date that I took the screen shots.
I added the 'date taken' manually in windows explorer. However, it seems that this does not write this data into the exif 'date taken' which remains blank.
When I transfer the PNG file from the PC to IPhone Photo App, it does not appear on the 'date taken' (that I added manually) but appears on the exif 'date created or modified'.
Interestingly, when I do same as above but with JPG file, it does show up correctly based on the 'date taken' (that I added manually in windows explorer).
So I converted the PNG file to JPG using one of the online tools. However, when I do this, the converted file does not retain the 'date taken'.
I can fix the above by:
    1.  Use Paint to save the PNG file as JPG; this retains the 'date taken' but this is not the solution I am looking for as I would need to do this for each file (there is no bulk 'save as' in Paint)
    2. Use a file conversion tool to bulk convert from PNG to JPG; but again this is not solution, as I would have to manually add the 'date taken' in windows explorer to each JPG file
Alternatively, I tried to rename the file name to include the 'date taken' and then use an exif date changer app to set the xhif dates based on file name.
However, I was not able to find any software that would allow me to do this. The software that I have seen only picks up the 'date taken' from file EXIF data. But in my case there is no such data in the file - only the 'date taken' that I manually added in Windows Explorer.
Any advice is appreciated. All I want to do is transfer PNG files from PC to Iphone Photo app and have these files appear in Photo app based on the 'date taken' (the one I manually added in windows - not the date taken in exif data).

Have you touched the "More" button (on the iPhone).
    then gone to Audio Books.
    Are they there?
I had an audio book still on my iphone, it survivedf the iOS5 update.
To get rid of it, I plugged iPhone into Mac,
    Go to itunes.
    Click on Iphone in iTunes.
    Go to Books tab,
Scroll down, there is audio books.
    Choose sync selected audio books,
And untick the ones I don;t want.
    Dows this work for you?

  • Making offline photos online again...

In PSE7, I am trying to move offline photos back online on a larger disk. I've searched the forums and can't find advice that actually works. Any help will be appreciated. Some posting said that I can put the disk holding the offline photos online again and it should just work but the drive letter of the has to be THE SAME as it was when the photos were moved offline. But, is there a way to determine what drive letter PSE thinks this is supposed to be?
    Leif Pederson

    1. Is the drive a USB flash drive (thumb drive) or an external USB hard drive?
    2. When you connect the drive, is its contents accessible in Windows Explorer? Can you see the offline photos on that drive in Explorer? If you cant, then the problem is with the drive or its contents, and dont follow the rest of thes steps.
    3. In PSE, select one of the offline photos. Right-click the photo and select Show Properties. In the Properties General pane, what is the exact path of the photo shown next to the yellow folder icon? (If you cant find the offline photos in you catalog, dont follow the rest of these steps.)
    4. Leave the drive connected.
    5. Download "psedbtool" from here:
    http://johnrellis.com/psedbtool/#_Downloading,_Installing,_and
and follow steps 1 4. This creates the file output.log in the same folder where you extracted psedbtool post its contents here. This will list all the drives that are recorded in PSEs catalog along with all the drives currently connected to your computer.
With this information, we should be able to determine whats going on with your offline files. If youre not comfortable posting that information here (its not really useful to anyone else), click on my name above and email it to me.

  • IPhone Photo Library "Ghost" Space

My iPhone shows 2.3 GB of data in my photo library but I just cleaned out all my photos? I already synced to iTunes and rebooted the device. I have updated to iOS8.

Further to this post I noticed that although I cannot see any photos in the iPhone app, the iTunes summary still showed 4+GB photos and the ever growing (by now about 7+GB) Other files (still showing 8.1GB in the Settings>Usage for photos only leaving 2+GB free on the phone). After numerous resets and sync of the iPhone, finally got to 6.2GB free space, iTunes showing 0 for photos, but iPhone Settings>Usage still showing 4+GB for photos (was the original size of photos on my iPhone). It appears due to some file corruption the original photo library is still on the phone but inaccessible to iTunes and the iPhone Photos app.

When i open Elements 11, I don't get anywhere to log in.  Can I save my photos online in my account?

    Actually they just did:
Dear Customer, Your current Adobe® Photoshop® Elements or Adobe Premiere® Elements storage and sharing membership on Photoshop.com will move to a new service called Adobe Revel™. Your photos mean a lot to you. And making sure they're backed up and easy to access means a lot to us.
That's why starting April 2, 2013, we'll automatically move your photos to their new home – Adobe Revel.
You don't have to do a thing.
By doing nothing, you are saying it's okay for us to move your JPEG photos and your Elements membership/Photoshop.com account to Revel. We'll handle your photos with care and keep you updated along the way.
If your library contains file formats other than JPEG photos, please be sure to download your complete Photoshop.com library before June 18, 2013, as Revel doesn't yet support the following file types – any video, PSD, RAW, ACR, PNG, TIFF. Archive now.
The move will start after April 2, but if you want to start using Revel sooner, you can start your move now.
Rather not have us move your photos? Simply opt out by April 2, 2013 and download your complete library before we close on June 18, 2013. Archive now.
We are committed to supporting you throughout this transition to a new technology – Adobe Revel. Currently, Revel gives you more access to your photos than ever before – on the web, iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And this is just the beginning – we are planning to support additional platforms, as well as, popular file formats beyond JPEG and video. We are committed to delivering frequent Revel updates and to continually pushing the envelope to create the best experience for reliving your memories wherever you are.

  • Basic Syncing of iPhone Photos

This is going to seem like a no brainer, but I have few basic questions about how the iPhone syncs photos. (I have read the manual, but what I've read doesn't address my questions.)
#1. Out of the box, after having taken some photos with the iPhone, does a normal sync between the iPhone and iTunes place those photos on my Mac? If so, where are they placed? (For further clarification, I have not turned on "Sync Photos From" in iTunes.)
#2. If they are not synced to my Mac, is there a way to sync them to my Mac without using iPhoto?
#3. Is there a way to upload photos to my iPhone without using iPhoto?
    Thanks

    You're welcome.
I never synced photos to the iPhone when I purchased it, so if I don't use iPhoto iTunes hammers all my iPhone photos.
I responded to this copied from your previous post.
This is not something I want to do, so how do I go about uploading photos to my iPhone without wiping out all my existing photos on the iPhone.
If you haven't transferred any photos from your computer to the iPhone yet, there are no photos on your iPhone unless you've captured photos with your iPhone. Photos transferred from your computer to the iPhone do not affect photos captured by your iPhone. These are separate.
Sorry but what does "iTunes hammers all my iPhone photos" mean?
So, since I've used Image Capture to copy the iPhone photos to my Mac, can I now place these photos in the 'sync' folder and sync the copied photos, and the photos I want to upload all at the same time?
    Yes.
This is what I do with iPhoto. I import photos captured by the iPhone into iPhoto, and then erase the photos from the iPhone after the import process is completed. If I want any of these photos available on the iPhone for viewing, I place the chosen photos in an iPhoto Album that I transfer to the iPhone.
You can do the same thing but manually with created folders than contain the photos you want available on your iPhone. Place multiple folders that contain photos in a "parent" folder. Select the Parent folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences.

  • My iPhone was lost how can I sync my iphone photos to facebook.

I'm using iPhone4 IOS7. I lost my iphone but i was not able to set the settings to sync my iphone photos to facebook. My friend told me that I should set it
but i dont have any idea that time. I would like to ask if it is possible now to sync my iphone photos to facebook using online applications or anthing?, so that
whoever found my iphone and if he/shee took pictures i can able to see it on my facebook? PLEASE iphone community. I really need your help.
I already used Find my Iphone app but i cannot track it because it is offline.

The only way to track an iPhone is if you turned on Find My Phone in Settings > iCloud before it was lost, then login to your iCloud account, click Find My Phone and see if it shows up.  To show up it must be turned on and connected to the internet.
If the iPhone did not have protections invoked and someone found/stole it and restored to factory condition, and then activated with a different number, there is no way to track or find it.
If it has been stolen or lost you can report that to your carrier and see if they offer blacklisting...that will block it from ever being activated by another person.

  • How do I move photos from my computer to my iphone photos?

How do I move photos from my computer (Microsoft Windows Live Photo Gallery) to my iphone photos?

    Thom_D wrote:
Email them to yourself, or upload them using a service like DropBox.
Once they are in DropBox you can open them in the DropBox app and then save them to your camera roll.
You can't just drag and drop files to your phone.  This is part of the way that Apple protects content and and keeps people from sharing videos, songs, etc.
You could also read the manual, or the tip that I posted, that tells you how to do what you say can't be done...

  • IPhone photos missing in action

I can see my iPhone photos just fine on my iPhone, but not in iPhoto or Lightroom. Any ideas of what is up?
Where are the backups stored? Can I get to the jpgs there? I would do a restore on the iPhone, but I just had an accident and don't want to lose the images I took yesterday.

OK, so I was able to solve the iCal sync problem, (see posts over there), and I thought it would help with the photos. But no luck. (open iSync.app, then use Preferences to clear the sync history).
So I was able to email myself all my pictures (at reduced quality) from the iPhone. Then I went ahead and deleted all the pictures on my iPhone. Got to zero pictures.
Then I took a snapshot to see if I could import it.
When I connect the iPhone to my mac, and open ImageCapture, I get "102 images to import"!!!!!!!
OK, so who has decided how many pictures are on the phone? There should be 1. Sure enough ImageCapture croaks and does nothing. Lightroom also reports that there are 102 images on the phone!!!!! iPhoto reports that there are 102 images!!!!!
Something must need to be cleared, but it is not clear where.
