Posting of Approved Journals

Is there a way to automatically post all the aproved journals for a period without opening the HFM journal screen.
Its urgent

This is still a concept and I haven't actually tried it at all, but in theory you should be able to access the hyperion dll files from within the rules. Again in theory!
If you could actually get access to all the functions within the hsvJournals.dll(Forget the exact name of it) Then you could take advantage of the journal processing ability there to post the journals.
Issues with this idea:
1) I've never actually done anything like this and was asking the other day if it was even possible.
2) You'd have to be careful with when the posting occurred. I'd imagine it should be at <Entity Currency> and should only run once per entity then post all journals for that entity. If you're not careful, you could wind up with a loop where as soon as you finish your consolidation you've already impacted yourself, leading to double consolidations.
3)This will require a very high level of VB knowledge(more than typical rule writing).
Again, I can't say that this will even work, but if anything is going to let you do it, it's going to be something along these lines.

  • Cannot Approve Journal Batch (Button grayed out in More Actions screen)

Cannot Approve Journal Batch (Button grayed out in More Actions screen)
The Journal Batch Approval notification goes to one or more approvers but when any approver opens the journal and tries to approve, the approve batch button is greyed out and nobody can approve the Journal batch. The approver has every authority amount and other wise.
Any idea what might be wrong? Do I need to setup something in Preference pages etc.,?
    Thanks for your help.

Are you looking at the Workflow Notifications page or GL page. Please give me the navigation used to reach the page. Typically in workflow notification details page, the Response buttons are either displayed or hidden based on whether the notification has a Result Type attached or not. I don't think they are greyed out based on any rule.
Workflow notifications does not check the approval authority by itself. Ann appropriate workflow notification with right content and result type should be sent based on the approval authority checked in a previous function activity.
    Thanks

  • Self Approving Journal

We setup journal approval by enabling journal approval at ledger level and by entering employees information and approval limits. I have seen in few cases where a person is able to self-approve his journal while in other cases the approval request is sent to his supervisor (as defined in the employees window). How do we control if system will let you self-approve or if system will sent the approval request to your manager. Thanks.

    Hi
    1) This is achieved by setting the profile option "Journals: Allow Preparer Approval" to Yes.
This means that preparers are allowed to approve journal batches that fall within their authorization limit.
    2) Then the authorization limit must be set accordingly for the users.
Navigation: General Ledger : Setup : Employees: Limits.
Please note that the profile effects all the users, so the Limits make the difference for controlling the approvals.
If the above profile option is set to NO, than the preparer himself is not allowed to approve his own journal and hence the journal gets routed through the supervisor.
The routing of the journal through supervisor is controlled by the journal approval methods selected i.e. One Stop than go direct, Go up Management chain, and Go Direct.
    Hope this helps.

  • Argentina Electronic Invoice - FI Document posted before approval

    Dear Guru´s.
We implemented the Argentina Electronic Invoice and find a problem with FI documents.
When we created billing documents from Argentina, this must be blocked to accounting and posted after approval electronic response by AFIP.
We executed a test with billing documents and this was posted to FI before the approval by AFIP through transactions VFX3 or VF02.
There´s any standart solution for prevent to this FI documents never can be posted before to the approval by AFIP?
Thanks for all sugestions or help.
    Silvana Santos

    Dear Krishna,
    Thanks for your help,
1.Posting block:You can assign a posting to your billing document type by using the T.Code "VOFA".System will not release the billing document for accounting. It will be done after by using VFX3 T.Code.You can provide authorisation for this T.Code to certain users only.
Response: We used this configuration and all documents for accounting are generated blocked. But in to Argentina electronic process the documents  accounting just unblocked if authorized by AFIP. Our problem is the documents are unblocked by inadvertently running step to use transaction VFX3 before the approval.
ie is necesary keep locked until approval by AFIP even if the transacction VFX3 for example be executed.
    best regards,
    Silvana Santos.

  • Mass posting to cash journal

    Hi All,
Is there any standard way how to post massively into the Cash journal. Tr FBCJ allows to post only one item by one.
I want to avoid creating new Z-programm.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello,
There is no such facility in standard SAP.
You have to create a BDC with the help of ABAPer.

  • Automate Consolidation

Does anyone have some good tips for automating consolidation? We're currently using the Taskflow Manager to kick off the consolidation at certain times.
We'd like to add some things-
    1) Send an email when the consolidation is complete
    2) Log off all users when the consolidation begins (and lock the app while consolidating)
    3) Post all "approved" JVs prior to consolidating
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

    Per Oracle Support:
    1) Logoff users and/or keep them out of the system at the beginning of the consolidation
No you cannot log off users or keep them out of the system at the beginning of the consolidation
    2) Post all "approved" journal vouchers priot to the consolidation
No you cannot post all approved journal vouchers
    3) send an email when the consolidation is complete or has an error
yes you can send email when consolidation is complete or when error occurs.
(In Admin guide there is a option task flow which will explain the steps for sending email when consolidation is complete or when error occurs)
Please feel free contact me if You have any further queries
I couldn't find the info for #3 in the admin guide (except something about emailing from Shared Services), so I asked for clarification. Will post if it makes sense.
I figure you might be able to have IT set up a "redirect" page during times of consolidation. That would keep users out.
Also, in the Using Task Automation section of the HFM admin guide, there is an Execute action that talks about running .bat batch files from the command line editor...but I cannot for the life of me find this in the system.

  • Approve/Post Journal works in 32-bit, but not the web Client?

We have HFM 4.01 sp2 and sometimes when a user tries to approve/post a journal in the HFM Web Client they receive a security error (even though they have the post role and ALL access to the Entity), then they login to the 32-bit client and they can approve/post the same journal? Why?
    Thanks,
    Tom

The user in question has all the security he needs. . . post journal role, ALL access to the scenario, entity, etc. or it wouldn't work in the 32-bit (windows) client either. I want to know why he received an error in the Web Client, but NOT the windows client?

  • HFM Security Issue - User can submit a journal by by-passing the approval step even though they are not an admin.

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a HFM security issue on HFM 11.1.2.3 we are facing please?
The problem is that a user can by-pass the journal approval stage and post directly after submitting if Custom4 access control=All is selected.
If any of the other access controls (None, Read, Promote) for custom 4 are selected, the first two steps of the process are possible -
input and approval of the journal are possible but final posting of the journal is not and returns an error that says:
"User does not have the access right to perform this journal task"
The options I have thought for a workaround are as follows:
    1.       1. Set up a 3rd user called data poster and remove submit journal role from user 1 (data inputter)
    2.       2. Put in place process control and use the various review levels (could be quite time consuming given there is no time left for development)
Have anyone experienced this before and come up with a quick way of resolving this please? It would be very much appreciated.
We have two types of users who are associated with groups in HFM and have the appropriate roles assigned to them to complete their tasks,
    they are:
    1. A data Inputter (who inputs base data and journals, who has access to create and submit journals)
    2.   2. A data reviewer (who approves journals)
    The process is as follows:
    1.       1. Logon as Data inputter to submit the journals
    2.       2. Logon as Data reviewer to approve the journals
    3.       3. Logon as Data inputter to post the Journals
We are using the custom 4 member to identify different adjustment types. At the moment we are able to set it up in such a way whereby Steps 1 and 2 can be completed
but once it comes back to step 3, we get an error as follows:
"User does not have the access right to perform this journal task"
(This error comes about when the access control on custom 4 is set to None, Read, Promote)
Custom 4 Access Rights looks as follows:

    HFMLoad
    All

    None
    Read
    HFMReview
    Read
    All
    All
    All
When Custom 4=C4_ADJ01 all 3 steps can be completed but it by-passes step 2 (journal approval).
For all other Custom 4 we complete steps 1 and 2 successfully but not step 3 due to access issues.

    Test User Name
    Test User Name
    Access Rights

  • I need Post-Approval FYI notifier to receive notification details, anyone?

    Hi WF people,
    I need help.
I need a post-approval FYI notifier to receive an FYI email with the details of the change.
The requirement (which makes sense to me) is:
For Payroll changes (HR) via MSS, send FYI notification to Payroll team containing details of the change (same as the notification review page).
From AME, I created the post-list approver rule with the payroll team approver group as members, and rule type as FYI. Problem with this is: the FYI notification has no details.
I tried the strong-arm approach. In the workflow, after the Approvals Notification Process, I added a custom notification with a custom message containing the notification review page. Problem is, once notification is approved, the review page is not available anymore and the notification does not contain the details.
Anyone has done a solution to a similar requirement before? This looks a normal requirement to me. Payroll changes were made (via MSS), then inform Payroll Dept of the changes.
    Thanks.

  • Journal Post error

    Hello experts,
I'm trying to post a simple journal entry, but i get an error:
"An error occurred when committrnas was processed"
Do you know what is the cause for this error?
    Thanks,
    Moriel

    Hi Moriel,
What version of BPC are you using?
Also, are there any errors appearing in the TblLogs table in the AppServer database?
Do you have default logic turned on? Meaning are there commands in the Default.LGF or Journal.LGF files?
Can you confirm the exact error you are getting?
I think this error is misspelled:
An error occurred when committrnas was processed
    Thanks,

  • Error while posting journals

    Hi experts,
We are facing an error where the user is able to create and save journal but is not able to post it. While posting the following message comes on the screen:
"The journal is now being posted. Current journal Id:XXXX     Initializing... "
Please help us with your expert advice.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Kamya Nagpal

    Kamya,
We are experiencing the same exact problem here at every month end. The journals sometimes eventually post, but many times do not.  That message "The journal is now being posted. Current journal Id:XXXX     Initializing... " stays on the screen.  If you click ANYWHERE else on the screen, the message "disappears", but when you go back into Manage Journals, the journal is still in a SAVED state and not POSTED as would be expected.
Did you ever get a solution for this?
    Thank you.
