Posting Period cut off

Hi SAP Gurus,
We have this situation, we are a manufacturing plant. Production is under shifting mode. We have two shifts A and C shift. A is 7AM-&7PM and C is 7PM-7AM.
Our Accounting and sales group (GL posting) want this cut off aligned to production cutoff in SAP posting period.
Would this be possible since when we do posting in SAP it captures system date and time? if possible, how is the procedures?
I appreciate any any comments and suggestion.

That a cutoff period is defined to protect the data of the previous period from being overwritten.
The cutoff period divides the life cycle of the production order into open and closed periods.
The work in process calculated up to the cutoff period is not changed the next time WIP is calculated.
The work in process calculated for later periods is overwritten by the current WIP calculation.
To prevent data that has already been posted from being changed, you usually define the cutoff period as the period preceding the results analysis period.
For a product cost collector, work in process is calculated in May, June, and July. The valuation for July should not change the work in process for May and June.
You set the cutoff period to period 06 and calculate work in process for results analysis period 07.

Internal job posting description is cut off, External Job posting is not

Hi,
This is regards to the posting information for internal/external candidate with the detailed information of Company, Department, Project, Tasks and Requirement.

We have one posting with two publications (one for Internal and one for External Candidate). Internal job posting description is cut off, External Job posting (Same Description) is not cut off. When search for jobs and click on Job Posting.

You cannot directly access a table, because long texts are stored in KPRO.
Therefore look at CL_HRRCF_POSTING_INST_BL and CL_HRRCF_POSTING_BL (either Posting or Publication)
in order to retrieve texts.

ICR Process 003 Month-End Cut-off

We have implemented ICR process 003 in the 5.0 system. It seems that "posting period" relates to the period that the document was posted in ICR not necessarily to the customer account. How can we get a good month-end cut-off when new documents are posted all the time. For instance, when we run FBICS3, FBICA3, and FBICR3 after the new period begins, it will pull in documents created in the new period and all still open before in previous periods.

The period and year you enter on the selection screen is combined with the fiscal year variant maintained in your process customizing to derive a key date for open item selection. The open items are then selected in the sender system and stored in the year and period specified on the selection screen in the ICR database. This is also explained in the first message that is displayed in the log of data selection.

Separate month end cut-off date

I have 2 companies in a same clients.
These 2 companies would like to have separate month end cut-off date.
Please advice how to do it in OB29.

Hi,
You can do so.
You need to define two different posting period variant, where in the first one, for each month define the end date.
SAy if you define month 01 date 28 as period 01 and month 02 date 26 as period 02
Then period 02 will be from 29 jan to 26 feb.
Then assign these posting period variants to your company code in OBY6.
In that way you can differ the period end for two company codes.

Asset Depreciation fun in special posting period

Dear Gurus,
Recently my Finance Manager decided to hv a cut-off date for all the FI transaction on 14-Dec-2007.
These are the rules:
1.) All the FI transaction < 14-Dec-2007 posted in period 12
2.) All the FI transaction Between 15-Dec-2007 and 31-Dec2007 will be posted in special posting period 14.
3.) All year-end adjustment will be carried out in posting period 16.
My problems are:-
1.) How can i proceed the Asset depreciation run for period 12 and special period 14.
2.) How the system select or capture the asset doc? By posting date or by posting period?
3.)If possible pls give some examples when we should use these options and what are the advantages?
   a.) Planned posting run.
   b.) Repeat
   c.) Restart
   d.) Unplanned posting run.

Hi, First of all you need to understand the function of special period. You need not to mention the spl period of depr. run.
The system considers period 12 as usual.

       When you run the depr. on regular peiod basis ie., one by one, U choose (a)
d.) Unplanned posting run.
      When you want to calculate the depr. for some periods as a whole, U choose (d)
b.) Repeat
     Suppose u ran the depr for Jan. In Feb. you have capitalised an asset for Jan. So, U have to calculate depr for the new asset for jan.   U choose (b).
c.) Restart
       When you are running depr. you might have face some uncontrollable problems like power off, server down etc. In such instances, you choose (c).

Changed asset cut off value

Hi experts
In my compnay all assets have 5 % scrap value (cut off value). that means asset must have ramain 5% of basic value at the end of useful life. but now cilent want 100 % depreciable asset.(want to remove that 5% value). Is it possible for old asset which already capitalized and depreciated since past so many years.
If yes then what will be the Financial effect.

You can only make changes in the open fiscal year in Asset accounting.
You will have to change the depreciation key for 5% cut off value to nil.
The effect of these would eb as follows.
System would determine depreciation for all assets based on changed depreciation key.
Example is as follows
Asset A, Net book value of 1000 USD on 01/01/2008. (Fiscal year 01/01/2008 - 31/12/2008)
Each month Asset is depreciated for 100 usd. so for period 1-9 system will post depreciation 900 usd.
In period 10 system will post depreciation of 50, since cut of value is at 950.
Lets Assume that depreciation run for period 11 is done where this asset is not taken for depreciation posting since cut of value has reached.
Now in period 12, you change depreciation key for cut of value to be 0% then system will recalcluate depreciation for tht year
IN our case total depreciation to be posted for this year is 1000 usd where as only 950 usd has been posted till date.
So additional 50 USD will be calculated as outstanding depreciation in period 12.
In FI it will hit your P&L and in B/S your Accum dep Account.

Audio randomly cutting off on T410

I have a Thinkpad T410 and the audio randomly shuts on and off all the time. It never cuts off when there are headphones or speakers attached and when it does it can easily be turned on for a short period of time by hitting the volume button - sometimes up and sometimes it has to be the down. This makes me think it is some sort of software and not hardware or short in the computer. I have tried to reinstall all the audio and that doesn't work and have run several performance scans from Lenovo and diagnostic tools and nothing comes up. Any advice?

My speakers will kick back on if I press the mute button, either up or down volume, or click the mute bottom from the sound window.
The Hotkey software is made of the System Interface Drive (1.02)r, the On Screen Display (6.10.01), the Fullscreen Magnifier (2.15), and the Auto Scroll utility(1.0). I had a spare HD, so I installed it and used my Lenovo recovery disks to get my laptop back to the state from when I first got it. The versions for Hotkey are listed above. On my original HD, I updated to the latest Hotkey software and still had the problem.
I was originally thinking this was a software issue but now am leaning toward a hardware issue. I did have to send this laptop to Lenovo in May 2011 under warranty because the left speaker crackled and went out. It worked fine when it came back up until 3-4 months ago. I've ordered some new speakers from ebay and will install them to see if that fixes the problem. I found lots of hits from "W" thinkpad owners where the left speaker wire was placed on top of the heat sync and was being shorted out, but haven't seen any "T" owners reporting that.
I'll post an update after I replace the speakers.

Apple Screen Than Sad Ipod than Ipod battery low please wait than cuts off

my ipod when i start it up shows a sad ipod and i tried to reset it. and that didnt work my computer has Service Pack 1 so i cant get Itunes Yet... so i use Mediamonkey and after the Sad icon screen it says "ipod battery low please wait" and it cuts off and i had it on my Wall charger all night and it kept flickering off and on doing the same thing. i was listening to a song on it and it froze and i put it down and accidently touched the Volume button and it froze and it cut off and now the apple screen comes on and than a sadface than the message Can someone please help me i just got it....

Two intervals in Open and Close Posting Period (OB52)

What is the purpose of the two intervals (period 1 and period 2) in Open and Close Posting Periods (transaction OB52)?

Financial statements cannot be prepared on the last day of the accounting period... to find out the correct profit and to determine the correct financial positing... sometimes you may require to make some adjustment to accounting records after the closing of the accounting year... like adjustments for expenses payable, income receivable, writting off bad debts ...etc.
For posting those transactions....period 2 is maintained ..which are also called as special periods... to make the postings in these periods ...special authorisation is required.....

My iTunes randomly cuts off songs at the end. I've tried to create a new library and reimport my old library, but to no avail. Can anyone help? :)?

Hi, I am using a MacBook Pro, and downloaded the new iTunes update. I have OS X Lion 10.7.4. It all of sudden is randomly cutting off some songs before the very end of the song. I've tried to read past posts and create new libraries and re-import the old one, but it doesn't seem to help. It is not all of my purchased songs, nor is it all of my downloaded from CD songs, it's just a particularly random set of songs (I haven't checked them all, but it happens every 5 songs or so when I play the whole library on shuffle). This never happened to me before with other versions of iTunes, and when I called the support line the guy says he has never heard of this problem before... !
I have 3000 songs, so I don't want to manually bring each one in again. I am also not super technologically brilliant, so if you have had this problem too and have a simple answer, please help !!!

I have a similar problem with Itunes - the funny thing is it only does it on my Mac and not my PC running Windows 7 - seems strange the Apple software runs better on a Windows computer. There are other posts about this here on the forums that have been running for two years with no solution - and I was just about to buy a new Ipod - oh well.

New bt vision box cuts off and re boots at least 6...

Any help would be great othis is matter , as title says my new bt vision black box keeps cutting off wether I'm on free view on demand or recordings its just cuts off and reboots up to 10 times in a 24 hour period it's driving me to the point of throwing it away !! System don't have menu Open and Close Posting Periods

My system don't have menu "open and close posting periods" (full path in below). I search in google say that my system should active Public Sector Management to use this function.
I need to make sure before active, please help me if you known about this. And what BCSet will I need to active, is it IS-PS-CA ?

1. Goto SFW5..
2. Choose "Enterprise Addons" tab..
3. Against Business Function EA-PS...Change the Status to On and then activate..
4. Log off and Login again...now check the menu path.

Cut off process for Open Purchase Orders

Dear friends
We are preparing for Go Live. i want to know what are the steps required in Cut off activities with respect to Open POs. E.g if there is a PO for 1000 units against which GRN has been done for 200 units and Invoicing has been done for 100 units. How would such Open PO uploaded in the system and what would be accounting implications?

Hi Amit,
For Open POs there would be two types of situation:
1) No GR and IR has been done
2) Partial GR and IR have been done
In the first case you can upload all the Open POs using LSMW or any other program since GR and IR both would be done in SAP.
However for 2nd case, if GR has been done but IR has not been done then you have to post invoices using FB60 only since PO would not be having a history of GR. What you should do is post these types of GR entries to some Stock Clearing Account as credit and when you do invoice posting through FB60 in SAP debit this Stock Clearing Account. This will also give you tracking that until this GL Account becomes zero there are some entries to be passed.

Apple TV cuts off when open Macbook. WHY IS THIS STILL AN ISSUE!!

The issue is not fixed with Apple and it's really annoying. It affects all devices. Here is what I have found so far and I'm pulling my hair out. APPLE!! why have you not had a fix for this yet? You come out with the latest and greatest devices but you can not keep what you already have running? Come on this is frustrating. Look at the number of times this question has been asked on here, heck look at the number of views its unreal at over 10,000. This is a huge issue and should be worked on ASAP. At least make us think you are trying to fix it. If there is some magical fix I have not been able to find it.
And because many people while trying to help ask the same questions to all these post I will try to answer all the typical questions now to save some time.
- Yes, I have tried it with Itunes off and it still does it so it is not an Itunes issue.
- No, I am not watching a movie from my Macbook to ATV and I shut the lid etc. Nothing is streaming from the Macbook to the TV when I have the issue.
- The ATV works perfectly fine so long as the Macbook lid stays closed or the WiFi is shut off.
- Yes, I have been able to watch ATV while the Macbook was open, Itunes both on and off, WiFi on and ATV played fine. The issue seems to be intermittent but now has gotten worse.
- It has done the same thing with two completely different routers.
- iCloud off - no change
- Homeshare off - no change
- iTunes off - no change
- I turned off Wifi while no show was playing on ATV. Turned WiFi back on then started a show on ATV while the lid was open. Show ran fine. I turned off WiFi on MB show still ran fine. I turned WiFi back on and it killed it. ATV went back to main menu. Tried to restart show without making any changes while lid open and show would not play.
- Logged out of iTunes account on ATV, tried to watch show went back to main menu, would not play.

At that point it cuts off completely and switches to phone output from ATV back to what it iPhone. Itunes on my Mac is turned completely off. If I turn off the WiFi connection on my MBP then the ATV Airplay on my phone works just fine. The audio will play to my ATV and will not switch back. The second I turn WiFi back on it kills the Audio and the phone goes back to normal mode. It does it right in front of my eyes. So something is causing it to switch back overriding it but it is not iTunes. Also one other thing I noticed if I try to force it by hitting the airplay button every time it try's to switch back the podcast info will flash on the ATV for a second like it is trying then it kills it and goes back to the phone.

This happens on Hulu Plus and HBO Go and Airplay on my phone. I really want to see this issue corrected there is no excuse for it this long after the release.
