Any ideas on what is it and how ti fix it? I tried uninstalling Access Connection and the error went away, however, after installing the software back again, the error came up.
Anybody seen it before and know how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Quicktime 7.2 - Buffer overrun detected!

The quicktime player 7.2 often crashes down, when i play a quicktime panorama-movie. An error alert appears:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Buffer overrun detected. Program: C:\Programme\Quicktime\QuicktimePlayer.exe. A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
Firefox plugin falls exactly the same. With the last version 7.1.6.200 i had no problems like this one.
The panorama-movie can be viewed at:
    http://mia-net.gotdns.org/bianca.html
    (the last one)
or directly (attention, large file 7,05 MB):

That's my excact problem, only I don't have the pro version.

Bumping, I am having the same issues; however, it is just even trying to open quicktime. I am now having issues with itunes due to this. I am not able to uninstall it either.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Quicktime problem "buffer overrun detected!"???

sorry if thas has been posted a billion times recently, but i seriously am not that good with computers and can't seem to find a place for help with this. was hoping you guys here could at least point me in the right direction. Also, like i just said, I am not very handy when it comes to computers, so try to keep it plain and simple...
with that being said, I have encountered this problem with quicktime recently, which in turn has caused itunes to not work either. i've tried searching for a fix for days now and have been unsecessful finding anything so far. I heard it has something to do with the new quicktime update not cooperating with some service pack update... im not sure
I tried to delete quicktime but couldn't, now when i try to open quicktime... I get an error message reading :
    Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library
    Buffer overrun dtected!
    program C:\programfiles\quicktime\quicktimeplayer.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
thanks for any help in advance

I had the exact problem, after I tried updating to the latest version of itune. Now my itune don't work. There are no graphics and no sound. When I open Quicktime it has the exact message "buffer overrun detected...The program cannot safely continue execution and must be terminated."
I tried removing the quicktime program, restoring the computer to earlier dates, disabling my antivirus program first and downloading itunes on a disc and then updating the program. Nothing Works! I talked to a guy at apple support who said he's not allowed to help me since "quicktime is a free program" then referred me to article "302538" which says to disable some items using the System configuration Utility (msconfig) in windows XP. Tried it and it doesn't work either.
Since this problem is happening to so many people, something is obviously wrong with the itune and quicktime program which is mandatory for my recently purchased $300 Ipod. I've already wasted countless hours trying to resolve this problem with very little support from Apple. Apple needs to address and fix this problem.
Please let me know how to resolve this problem! Thank you!

  • Buffer overrun detected in iTunes

When I synchronise photos from my PC to my iPod (5G, 30Gb) I get most of the time the next Error-message in a window named: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtine Library.
The text of the message is:
'Buffer overrun detected. Program: C/Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe.
A buffer overrun has been detected wich can corrupt the program''s internal state. The program cannot safely continue and must now be terminated.'
As a result of this Error-message the program iTunes is terminated and the photo's are not uploaded to my iPod.
Is this problem familiar to you and you know the cause and hopefully a solution, I will appreciate if you will inform me about this. Many thanks.

I had a very similar problem. I would get this error when trying to play mp4 videos in itunes. I fixed it by upgrading my motherboard chipset drivers.

  • Buffer Overrun detected - Microsoft Visual  C++ Runtime Library

My computer, an HP 3400+ with XP home edition has been running fine. I decided I want to watch movie trailers in HD from Yahoo Movies web site and it says I need to upgrade to Quicktime 7 in order to run it. Now it works fine on my laptop so I know it works. I click the "Download Quicktime 7 to view HD" button and go through the process. It goes fine. I reboot and try to run Quicktime and I get this message.
"Buffer Overrun detected - Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Program Quicktime Player."
On Explorer and Firefox it still has not recognized that I downloaded the new Quicktime 7.
I am able to right click the Quicktime icon and go to the preference but I can't run the program. I even ran the install and did the repair button but no luck. I find no answers on the net.
    Any ideas?

You will find help on this site: http://pabsungenis.livejournal.com/94683.html
I did ... well it didn't get as complicated as there since in my case the QT installer worked and fixed the problem.

  • Buffer overrun closing Designer.exe

When I have IE up and close Designer.exe, version 11.5.10.1263, I get a popup message:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Buffer overrun detected!
    Program: ...Objects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86\designer.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state.  The program cannot safely continue execution and must
    now be terminated.
    OK
This happens whether or not I'm running Designer manually or via the COM SDK.
I have seen some discussion of this on the web indicating that it is a side effect of the Google Toolbar (!).  I do in fact have this toolbar installed.
Is there a fix for this available?
    Thanks, Eric

Hi, have you found the solution, i have this problem with crystal report since i deleted a ODBC connection,

  • QuickTime 7.1.2 - Buffer overrun detected!

    Hello again everyone.
Recently I upgraded QuickTime Pro on my Windows XP Pro machine to QuickTime 7.1.2. using the iTunes 6.0.5 setup.
Since the upgrade, whenever I go to open QuickTime from either the Task Bar, the Desktop ShortCut, The Program Menu or the C:/drive, it will not open and I get the following error message:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Buffer overrun detected!
    Program:C:|Program Files\QuickTIme\QuickTimePlayer.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the programs internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated (Asta La Vista baby)
However if I double click on a QuickTime movie (.mov file) on my hard drive, it will open QuickTime. Very weird.I have tried uninstalling both QuickTime and iTunes, then reinstalling iTunes and QuickTime 7.1.2 with the stand alone installer but I still have this buffer problem which won't let me open QuickTime.
Can anyone advise me on what the problem is and how to fix it?
    Regards,
    Justin

That's my excact problem, only I don't have the pro version.

  • Buffer Overrun Detected

    Hi
Apologies of this has been asked before. When running an QT movie created in Flash CS3 I get the 'buffer overrun detected' error message. I am using a PC with Windows XP Home Edition SP2 - any help and advice would be much appreciated.

  • "Quicktime Buffer Overrun Detected" When Updating Existing Software

So the subject line basically says it all. Quicktime runs fine until I pull down the "help" menu and select "Update Existing Software" which immediately gives me a C++ error "Quicktime Buffer Overrun Detected." I've tried repairing Quicktime and it does the same thing still. I'm running v.1.3.7 and Windows XP.
An interesting side note: When Quicktime is running my desktop flashes as though windows is refreshing it. Any idea what that's about?

Bumped. A little help would be appreciated...

  • Cant export in quicktime pro get buffer overrun detected

cant export in quicktime pro progeam shuts down and a microsoft visual c++ runtime libary buffer overrun detected error pops up what is the fix for this??

I do not know if this helps as my problem was specifically with picture viewer but I also was unable to run the quicktime updater. I removed quick time via the windows add/remove in control panel as I had done before. But this time I did a search for all quick time files and found over 50 files (I have 4 partitions and they were hiding in one of them). So I deleted them, did a defrag (using diskeeper 10) then downloaded the latest version of quick time. Now it works perfectly.

  • Buffer Overrun in java.exe

We are getting OS pop up error message about buffer overrun in java.exe. This error occurs in production environment and till now we couldn't find out the cause. We have java application in OC4J (Oracle containers for Java) running in VMWare. OS is Win 2003 and java 1.5.0_16. Are there any ideas how to solve this problem. Is this related to environment (VMWare itself), java version (we tried _14, _15 and _16) We patched OC4J, etc..
    Regards,
    Simon

You are getting a system exception.
Most system exceptions are caused by JNI, either yours or a third party library.
If and only if you are not in fact using any JNI nor any third party libraries which do so (since you are using at least one third party you must verify this) then the following possibilities exist.
    - The environment is corrupted. Some install got garbaged, or done in the wrong order, etc. This is not solely limited to java.
    - There is hardware failure of some sort.
    - There is a bug in the VM.

  • One reason for "Buffer overrun detected!"

I got "Buffer overrun detected" problem as many others these two days. After searching all the old post and no solutions can be found yet. (Apple said they need to check with M$ cause the error message also contain "c++ runtime dll"
Anyway, finally, I found it's because the binary file is damaged in my pc, and it is caused by virus "W32.Pinfi" (other name such as "Win32.Parite.B"), you can make a quick check in registry:
    HKEYCURRENTUSER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
if there is a "PINF" value under the above registry value, sure you can solve the problem by clean this virus from your PC.
BTW: the cleaning is really a big job, make sure you can turn to some experts to clean it completely!

Try following this link and downloading and installing the BufferShield software. There's a 30-day Free Trial Version available.
    http://www.sys-manage.com/english/products/products_BufferShield.html
It worked for me! The Quicktime issue doesn't appear, to me, to be a virus at all at this time! Seems to be more of a Windows issue than anything. So use the software, sit back, and enjoy your Quicktime software, without the hassle of that pesky buffer overrun message!
