Postpaid to Prepaid

Ok, decided to move to 2 smartphones on $45 plan after years off contract postpaid with 2 Motorola flip-phones....Went to first Verizon owned store. After a while, they understood what I wanted to do, but no, they didn't have the phone I wanted. BUT, another nearby Verizon store did, so they called them and asked them to hold the phones for me. Rushed over to the other store, waited, got to explain that I was there to pick up and activate phones other store asked them to hold for me.
"Sorry, we can't do that. We're not allowed to call anymore, you have to call CS, set up prepaid account then come back here to buy phones"
Went online, chat mode, explained, signed up for 2 smartphones, paid for them, service and shipping. Phones arrived today. Activated, with phone numbers. Called CS to have old postpaid numbers transferred over to new prepaid phones.
Have now spent 4 hours on phone with numerous CSRs. Got one phone number transferred after about 1 1/2 hours going between postpaid and prepaid. Still working on the other one. The postpaid side has killed the postpaid phone but won't send the number to prepaid.
It's as though they are 2 different companies that hate each other.
Stiil waiting on CSR, 1 hr, 3 min 12 sec.

    Hi peter_henry!
I really regret to learn that this is an ongoing issue for you. In this instance, you would have to speak with the Prepaid department. I'm sorry, but I don't have access to  your number.
In order to reach a Prepaid Department representative, please call 888-294-6804. When prompted, enter your prepaid phone number. Then press 4, 5, 4 and enter the pass code for your account.  If you do not know the pass code, enter in four zeros.  Then the system will then transfer you to a Prepaid representative.

  • Going from postpaid to prepaid

Trying to register on myverizon for my prepaid account and since I ported from my postpaid it still logs me in under the postpaid acct.  Is there a way to deregister the postpaid acct so I can register my prepaid on myverizon?

        kindie75,
It's definitely important to have access to your My Verizon account now that you have prepay. Please follow me and send me a Direct Message so I can assist with this.

  • Verizon keeps deleting my prepaid account

I have an iPad that needs wireless service only when I travel. When I bought the iPad I was told it was possible to turn service on and off at will. When I tried to add it to my postpaid phone account I was told no, you can't just turn off service and turn it back on again. They suggested a prepaid plan. So a couple of times I have activated the prepaid plan but when I suspend service (I'm not traveling) after a while, they delete my entire account. It seems the only way to reactivate is call and spend a lot of time on the phone or go into a store (usually not convenient). The last time this happened I had to do both --- spent several hours trying to get the iPad reactivated. What is going on here? I can understand that phone numbers cost them money and they may want to reclaim the number after a few months of inactivity (although it's quaint that a device that is not a phone requires a number) but why delete the whole account?
The last time this happened it took them about six months to delete the account. But this time my account was inactive (unpaid) for only a week, and they deleted it just minutes after I had a very confusing and frustrating chat with Verizon, where I asked if they could turn on the account for just a day (the daily plan) later in the week. She said that couldn't be done. I had to call on the day I want service. Coincidence, or did she delete the account to get back at me for leaving her a poor review?
After years of expecting generally excellent customer service from the postpaid said, I am so surprised at all the difficulties with working with a prepaid plan. I've had the following problems:
It's difficult to find an agent, online, in a store, or on the phone who knows what's going on with prepaid.
The $5 daily plan, though advertised, does not show up as an option (when my account is worki5ng).
The website is confusing. For example, when you want to make a payment to renew your plan for another month, the option you have to choose is "Add a New Plan"
I thought I had turned on auto renew but it didn't. Could be my bad memory.
The My Verizon app doesn't work on the iPad. I always says "Service temporarily unavailable. Try again later."
Logging in through Settings/General/Cellular Data/My Account doesn't work. It insists on an email login, which I don't use for either my postpaid or prepaid account.
Can't log in to my verizon website on Safari on the iPad. Can only log in on the computer.
Give me a break. Spend an hour or more on the phone to turn on service for a day? On that day? And they make $5?? How much do they pay their agents to do this?

Hi, I'll try to answer a few of your questions:
I can understand that phone numbers cost them money and they may want to reclaim the number after a few months of inactivity (although it's quaint that a device that is not a phone requires a number) but why delete the whole account?
Ok, your iPad got a phone number, even if you don't use it as a phone. Why? because that's the way their system handle the information. Usually to lose an account you have 3 months without making a payment.
Coincidence, or did she delete the account to get back at me for leaving her a poor review?
Could be, especially if you were rude. But I guess this was a rethorical question, no one can know the real answer.
How much do they pay their agents to do this?
To do what? deal with you? that's included on their salary. Maybe they should get a rise...
Maybe you could see if Verizon got a plan easy  to mantain, example by paying 5$ monthly or something and you'll avoid all those inconvenients.
    Have a good day

  • Unable to find out remaining data from website or My Verizon - anyone else?

For the last few days I have been unable to check data usage from either the Verizon website by logging in or from My Verizon on my phone - it gives a very useless "readout" but there's no way to determine how much data I have.  Guess this has been since the prepaid "system upgrade" a week ago.  Is this the case with everyone and does anyone have ANY idea when this will be resolved?  I just can't face calling customer service.
A work-around is to call #3282 from your prepaid phone - it does tell you remaining data.  I have to assume that it's correct.

I'm in the same boat.  I switched from postpaid to prepaid and it just shows my postpaid acct.  Myverizon app is usless I can't even log in or register with it...

How are you going to access your company's email?
Not sure I understand the question, but it will be either through Lotus Notes on my laptop or through the BlackBerry.  The IT folks at my company notified me that I will need to get the Business Enterprise service from the provider. You say that your phone will need to be set up by your company IT folks and they have said that you will need the Business Enterprise service. Why are you asking to find another way if your IT folks won't set up your phone without it?
You are able to set up multiple email accounts on a cellphone.
My company's e-mail does not support Android, which is the OS on my current phone.Your company's email doesn't have to support Android. Android is not an email protocol. Android uses pop and imap which are not specific to android, but are cross platform.
It seems that the cheapest way would be to see if you can access it on your personal phone via an email client without making any changes to your plan.

  • My iphone 4 says call failed and message failed?

It was locked to orange but just had it unlocked to work on my T-mobile sim. Had this issue even before I got it unlocked. I have just bought this off of somebody and it keeps saying call failed/call ended just after I have dialled and then when I try to send a message it says message failed, however, I can get onto the internet using my signal alone and not connecting to Wi-fi. Incredibly confused as to why this isnt working. I have full signal. Done a full restore on 2 different computers still with no result. Really at the end of my tether with this, someone please help.
    Operating system 4.3.5
    Thanks

I faced similar issue where I was getting signal, able to receive calls, use all data services but everytime i went to make a call it said "Call Failed"
You need to try to go to Settings>>Phone>>>Show My Caller ID>> Ensure it is On.
Even if it appears on try switching off and on.
Mine was not allowing to switch off and on but something I did worked and then able to make calls.
    Also try Settings>>>General>>>Reset>>Rest All Settings
I faced issue of not being able to make calls after switching my sim card from postpaid to prepaid. First it dint recognise the sim at all then on pluggin in to itunes i was able to activate and atleast receive calls, use all data only everytime i tried makinng a call it said call failed.
When i restored to factory settings it worked. However on restoring my backup i faced the same issue.
Apple local support was most unhelpful saying that i had to forget my data and work with a new phone without contacts, apps, etc

  • Deadlock error in essbase

i fired 6 sequnces simoultaneously for 6 diffrent entities(sparse dimension) out of which the three got executed , two ended in error and the error message is
Detail:Cannot calculate. Analytic Server Error(1014027): Transaction [0x705d4] is deadlocked with transaction [0x805d6].
and the last one is still running but when i checked in the sessions no calculation is going on for this 6th entity.
what could be the possible solution for this one. one thing i dnt understand is that all the entities are diffrent so why would this dead lock be happening and i dnt think any blocks could possibaly be same for the calculations.

  • Can't activate cellular data network

My 2 month old iPad Air has been working fine until yesterday - suddenly I get the message "Could not activate cellular data network". Cellular data is the whole reason I bought the thing. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've done all the steps on Apple's Support Site short of totally resetting the thing.
Also - I don't see this device or it's data plan on my verizon bill. I only see my family's cell phones. Should I be seeing the data plan for this?

Let's solve this mystery tim-verizon-user! Is your account postpaid or prepaid?

        SellingOldIpad,
Great question! Is this iPad on a postpaid or prepaid account. If the iPad is on a postpaid account your must do an assumption of liability to have the number transferred to another account. Here is how.... http://vz.to/1qUXaek If it is a prepaid account please reach out to our prepaid team at 888-294-6804 for further assistance.

  • Port Verizon Postpay to Prepay

I want to go from a postpaid account to a prepaid with verizon and can't find an option to port my number. I tried to port while purchasing a phone on verizonwireless.com and it told me that I couldn't port my number because it was a verizon account. Any ideas how to keep my number while switching from postpaid to prepaid?

Did you call customer service? I don't believe this can be done online.

  • How do I activate a new BB Storm 2 9550?

    Hello,
I purchased a new BB Storm 2 9550 and cannot activate it on the Verizon network.  When I enter the MEID # I repeatedly get the message :The Device ID you entered is not valid. Please try again or contact Customer Service at 800-922-0204 for assistance..
    Please help.
    Thank you.

        Hi tm11,
We would love to help out with your device activation today. I fully understand the importance of activating your device. The error that you're receiving would advise that the device may not be eligible for activation. This could be because the device was reported as lost or stolen. Also, this device may not be compatible with the VZW Network. Have you attempted to contact us directly at 800-922-0204 for review of the device ID? Are you attempting to activate this device on a postpaid or prepaid account? Please keep us posted, thanks!

Okay that's odd. I called again and spoke to someone from the prepaid department and they checked and said it is possible to switch from postpaid to prepaid and that all I needed was to get a new sim card.
But if you say its not that just leaves me feeling disconcerted. Some can also perceive that your website (and rep. Responses) purposely leave out necessary details for any BYOD prepaid customer so they feel pressure to buy a new device or give in and commit to a 2 yr contract.
I like the service but the prepaid plan best meets my needs and budget over post paid.
