Postscript errors CS5 and Canon RIPs/Printers

About to lose my mind here....
We upgraded our entire Creative dept to CS5 about 3 weeks ago. Since then, I've had 3 or 4 users experiencing the EXACT same issue printing to both Canon C6000 and Color ImageRunner 5051. When printing JPG files, they are now getting PostScript errors (i.e. "Error: limitcheck OFFENDING COMMAND: STACK: [1289 0 0 60 0 0 ]...."
NEVER, and I mean NEVER, have we had an issue with PS errors here. I've been here 3.5 years. I'm not finding any updated Canon drivers that addresses this issue.
Here's what everyone is running: 10.5.8, CS5. Printers: EFI Rips.

I don't think so. These are being printed straight to letter or tablod paper.
I think there's definitely a CS5 issue going on here, as again, this never happened when we were on CS2 or 3 until we upgraded last month. And the fact it's happening with the same files to two completely different printers (i.e different drivers as well) points directly at Adobe again.
Fortunately, the one workaround SEEMS to be if you copy and paste the jpg image (this also happened with a PSD image, so this was more difficult with layers) to a new file, it printed out. Still, something isn't right.

In such a case as this I offer the following solution:
People who need to SCAN and/or PRINT without a compatible Lion or Montain Lion driver from their manufacturer can use Apple's very basic "PRINT & SCAN" utility in System Preferences:
Click the Apple menu ( ), and then click System Preferences .
Click Print & Scan ( ).
Click Print .
The next window looks like this:

the CR2 files of my new Canon EOS 70D are not accepted by CS5 and Camera Raw. I do not want to buy an upgrade to CS6 . How to do? Thanks

Print problem with InDesign CS5 and Power RIP-X

When I try to print an InDesign page using PowerRIP I get a big X across the page that is not in the document. Any ideas as to why and how I can fix this?

The demo version PowerRIP adds the X watermark.

What is wrong with CS4 and post script printers?

I just upgraded my cs2 to a cs4. It's great except it won't function with my print driver. I use LD Lanier 160c, an okay printer for non-professional grade. Every time I try to go to my printer options, I get a warning that says: "If the desired print setting is available in InDesign's Print Dialog Box, please set it there to avoid conflicts". Well, there is no duplex options or a lot of other options available in my dialog box. Does anyone know what to do so I can actually use my printer. The crazy thing is that it still allows me to go to my print options and select what I want, but it will not record anything I do in the printer options. Someone please help.

You should probably get ahold of Lanier to see if there is a conflict resolution somewhere in the workflow. I have an HP Designjet 10ps printer that shipped with a standard "Office" type driver and an additional RIP software application which is Postscript 3 compatable. I often find it interesting that the printer itself is not recognized as a Postscript output device and the RIP only interprets the Postscript data and converts it to printer language. It sounds like you had success with CS2, whether you used a RIP or not. But, typically, Postscript data streams usually require a RIP to process the data. So, Lanier may have an updated driver and/or a RIP solution for CS4.
It's getting to be a real dance with recent OS software releases vs. recent CS updates vs. hardware vendor application updates and/or the lack of. As I understand it, Apple offers updated printer manufacturer drivers. However, having looked over the list at the apple.com/support site, they only update new or fairly new printers. In my case, the closest update driver would be an HP Designjet 30 or 130. This gets to be a real situation because printer software will only work in certain OS versions and neither HP or Apple support my HP Designjet 10ps. You are simply expected to trade-up and pay-up.

Canon 1100 printer and Z40 rip with OSX.6 (OS10.6 Snow Leopard)

I have seen a quite few people stuck with older printers under 10.6. Here is my fix for getting my Canon 1100 with a Z40 rip (the big box that sits to the side of the printer) to work with the new operating system.
How to connect a CLC 1100 and Z40 rip to Apple OS10.6 (OSX.6)
PART ONE
The PPD needs to be copied into the appropriate place
on the Mac /Library/Printers/PPDs/Content/Resources and this will make
it selectable within the add printer wizard.
The PPD should be able to be found in the OS9 driver download here:

To be sure, rename the file to: Canon-Z40.ppd
(do not worry that it is a text file and appears different to the other PPD files.
PART TWO
1) On the rip go to Run Setup and then to Network Setup and then to Protocol Setup.
Turn Apple talk off (it will not find the Appletalk network as it does not exist on 10.6)
Then go to TCP/IP settings and then to Ethernet settings.
- Enable TCP/IP for Ethernet - YES
- Enable Auto IP - NO
Then for IP address look up your IP address on the network settings on your computer then go through the following steps: change the IP setting on the rip as a later part of that series. In my example the network settings on my computer were 192.168.1.68. As there may be other things on the DHCP network pick a high number such as 192.168.1.205
Subnet mask should be the same as Network settings on your computer again. In my case it was 255.255.255.0
The rip should then say you are successfully bound to ethernet. It will then ask for a gateway number which is only important if you have more than one network. I just put a random number there and you will get a message saying that number is not recognized. Do not worry about it. If you have a second network then enter that number
PART THREE
Go to the add printer wizard in your system settings.
Select LPR/LPD (Line Printer Daemon - LPD)
Now in the address field put in the number you used as an IP address in the rip. In my case 192.168.1.205
In the Queue field enter: print
The above step is important!!
Enter a name and location for your printer if you want.
In Print using go to Select Printer software and then select
Canon ColorPass-Z40 Color Server.
The in the next menu select 1120 as your printer.
You should now be good to go!!
The only other thing is that if your rip will take a while to process the new settings (5 minutes in my case) If it gets stuck then disconnect the ethernet cable and re-start.

I knew it'd be something easy.. Now the thing I'd like to know is, how do I get rid of software that is useless to me? I'd really like not to have excess software installed, but I'm not confident that I can just go in and start trashing anything that looks like junk. (If you do that on a Windows computer, you set in motion a diabolical chain reaction that brings about the apocalypse.) I'm a pretty new Mac user. Is there an app that'll do this task?

I am getting a PostScript error and need some help

I am trying to download an Illustrator file from my online class and am getting this message: %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ]%%. Is there a simple solution, I have done everything that I know how to do. I have installed Illustrator CS6 and uninstalled CS5 from my computer and I have Acrobat XI pro installed. Please help.

It isn't clear what you are doing with this PostScript file. What are you doing, and where do you get the error?
Also, are there any other lines of messages first, this isn't actually an error, just tells you there was one.

I am getting an error while coding between CS5 and Flash CC specifically: Access of undefined property instrument_txt. I am using a book that is made for CS5. Is there a current book or resources for Actionscript 3.0 and Flash CC?

I did try this and nothing happened, same error codes. The code works fine from CS5 and CS6 Flash versions. The animation runs well, the text displays where it should in the instrument_txt frame. It is when I try this in Flash CC that it creates the code error. here was an error that came up regarding text problems, something with FLT text converted to another text (I am not sure of the name of the text-type and the "FLT" I am not sure of either).

Epson and Canon printers not working with 10.7.5

Anyone know if there is a fix for Epson and Canon printers for 10.7.5? Did Apple intentionally switch off printer drivers to force us to upgrade to Mountain Lion? I called Epson technical support and they mentioned it's a well-known issue and they said to "wait for an Apple update". I doubt that will fix the issue. My Canon printer stopped working for months already and there is still no fix.

I am writing from of graphic design company where we have 4 computers ( 2 are HP Z800 and other 2 HP Z400) with Afther effects CS5
and a year ago we purchased 4 licenses for plugins Boris Continuum Complete AE 7
In 2 HP Z800 computers we have a problem with the 3D plugins BCC7 BORIS Boris Objects. The other plugins of Boris Continuum Complete AE 7 are working properly.
In the other 2 HP Z400 computers all plugins go OK including BCC7 BORIS Boris Objects
Every computer has Windows 7 and Nvidia Quadro 5000 graphic card
I attach a printscreen where you can see errors that occur in Afther Effects. At the end of the program is closed

I do not use lightroom and I have a subscription so I can open all supported RAW formats. You will need DNG file for Your Camera's NEF files for use in Photoshop ACR version. You can open your NEF files in LR it seems so you could do all your raw conversion with Lightroom and save out Tiff files for processing in Photoshop. I do use lightroom for I do not need its library. Lightroom does not support layered files so lightroom is of no value to me. ACR UI is all I need having a second interface to Adobe Raw Conversion Engine would more annoyance than value to me.
