Potal Authorisation Error:"Failed to connect backend system.Check your syst

Hi Experts,
Please advise me on how to proceed....
I created a dashboard reports (5) based on 5 different reports in BI Queries using Visual Composer...I deployed them to portal and in portal i assigned those iviews to a role and assigned that role to a end user.
In BW end user is autorized to execute those 5 queries and in portal user is able to access those queries as well
But when he tried to execute Dashboard reports..it is displaying error
"Failed to connect backend system.Check your system definition and user priviliges"
Then i modified his authorisations in BW assigned SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role in BW and then in portal he is able to execute the Dashboard reports...by assigning the SAP_J2EE_ADMIN role he is able to execute dashboards in portal and he got more authorisation in portal than he required like 'Content Admin','User Admin' and 'System Admin'
I tried by using SAP_J2EE_GUEST role but he is getting error
"Failed to connect backend system.Check your system definition and user priviliges"
Please advise on how to proceed

When i modified testuser profile in BW and updated with SAP_J2EE_ADMIN then i can execute the dashboard report but at the same time testuser got more than what he should have like user admin,system admin...etc
I searched the sdn and find some similar threads ...but nothing was useful
Please update me what went wrong and how to fix this...

Hi,
Please check the permissions on your system object. This issues is from Portal itself not BW backend.
System Administration->System Configuration->System landscape->Browse for the System Object that has been used in your VC->right click to open the permissions.
Check for the permission for eu_role/everyone group. These should have alteast "read"permission on the System Object. If this permission is missing add up here.
By default all users fall in "everyoone' group, so I suggest adding 'read' permission to this group itself.

PowerPivot Error "Failed to connect to the server. Reason: Unspecified error" when importing other files

I have been getting the error below on a regular basis when attempting to import Excel, Text, or Access files.
I'm running Office 2010 (SP1), and PowerPivot (SP1). After reading a similar thread I reinstalled PowerPivot. It worked until I closed Excel. Now it recuses to allow import or update of these files. I really need it to work. Anyone have an solution or even
something to try - other than uninstalling and reinstalling PowerPiviot everytime I need to import or refresh files?

Fatal Error: Failed to connect to DDE server

I've read the other posts about this problem, but none seem to fit my situation.
This happened while trying to use a 3rd party program Typhoon AutoRun to test autorun files for CDs of our Ebooks that we're burning. Each of these Ebook CD projects has 6 PDF files to open; 1 Mobipocket, 1 HTML. Of course, the only problem occurs with the PDF files.
Let me start by saying that I was using Acrobat 6 until September, when we upgraded to CS 4, and never experienced this issue.
And after installing Acrobat Pro 9, I hadn't any difficulty until TODAY.
Order of events: I opened a past completed project in Typhoon Autorun to test the file before burning to CD.
When I clicked on one of the PDF document buttons, the first thing that happened was Adobe Active X 9 attempted to run. BUT the Active X failed to install on the first attempt:
"Error 1904.Module
C:|WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9f.ocx failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel."
The Typhoon Autorun program continued operating and opened the project's PDF documents without any difficulty -- all 6 opened, one after the other, when I clicked on their buttons.
I closed out the error message, closed out the Typhoon Autorun project I was testing to work on another Typhoon Autorun project. When I had that one finished, I tested it as I had the one previous.
This time when I clicked on a button to open one of the PDF button, the Adobe Active X 9 program loaded and INSTALLED successfully.
THEN, the PDF document opened. But when I attempted to open any of the other 5, they did nothing. I double-checked my Typhoon Autorun project files, but all of the settings were correct. I tried testing my project again. This time NONE of the PDF files would open.
I closed the Typhoon Autorun program and attempted to open Acrobat Pro 9 immediately after. I tried clicking on the shortcut button several times with no result. After several minutes, literally, I received the "Fatal Error: Failed to connect to DDE server" --- actually, several instances of that message to correspond with all the times I'd attempted to open the program.
I shut down my computer, rebooted, reopend Typhoon Autorun and tried to test a different project.
Again, Adobe Active X 9 installed. (If it's already installed why is it reinsalling???)
And again, only 1 PDF file would open. Then none of the others. I shut down Typhoon Autorun and tried to open Adobe Acrobat again, and it wouldn't open.
The problem seems to be appearing when Adobe Active X 9 installs, and it's doing that automatically, without asking.
I never had this problem when I used Adobe Acrobat 6 (I'm really beginning to regret upgrading)
I never had this problem before this Active X 9 started installing.

No solution I am afraid but same problem, running full version of AVG and problem hit immediately after Adobe Reader 9.1 upgrade. Pretty darn sure problem is in the upgrade but the relevant Restore Point was overwritten before I figured it out. Any advice welcome.

Ladies & gentlemen
I am using evaluation version of ImageUltra Builder 4.0 for Windows
XP. Both server and console have been installed on the same machine.
When I try to add a new repository, then after pressing the final
"Finish" button I get the message "An error occurred while
connecting to server: Check the server".
This message appears when the service IUServer runs.
I have not found any mention of this error neither in the Internet nor
in the documentation. Can any one suggest what could have been done wrong?

I've had the same problem when trying to generate a database on an external storage unit. When I create a new repository there are two option:
1) Location: - This is the location where you want to store the files itself. This server does not have to have a database running on it
2) Server: - This is the name of the server that actually runs the DB2 database that keeps track of the repositories. This server does not have to be the same as the location where you store the files. This could also be the IP address of the server, not necessarily the name.
The documentation for this is somewhat confusing, but the above stuff works atleast. I have tried in never versions than 4.0 as well.

I'm experiencing a similar problem.
I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011. I was using Lion (not Mountain Lion) with CS3 with no problems. Recently I installed a new hard drive in my computer and used Time Machine to transfer all my files and settings (still with Lion; I did not try to open any Adobe applications at this point). Then I udpated to Mavericks. Upon trying to open one of the Adobe applications, it told me I needed to reinstall CS3. I inserted the original disc and followed the instructions on the ReadMe file. I went to Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers > Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium. I did a reinstall, and at the end, it said that some of the components failed to install (see screenshot):
I did a partial install (not all CS3 applications), so there could have been more errors than this if all applications were installed. The applications themselves appear to work fine, but when I try to run the updater, it tells me I have no internet connection.

The CS3 that I purchased (Design Premium) came with Adobe Acrobat 8. I tried to manually install the 8.1.1 update. It said, "Please choose the copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional to update", but the application is grayed out (see below). I did not try to install any other manual updates, yet.
I'm not sure what to do here besides use my CS3 applications the way they are without updating them ever. (I would rather not subscribe to the Creative Cloud.) Any help will be appreciated. I might try doing a complete unintall followed by a fresh install.

I'm getting an error message "could not sign in check your network and try again" I've tried serval times, today and last night. I'm trying to upload to Go Daddy host. All my PW, Site URL and folder on server are correct /public_html. (I've used them to upload to FileZilla), with no problem except two pages are missing!

BCC error "Failed to connect to agent"

I am trying to start the BCC module with B2B application as the production.I am using the default B2B application Motorprise provided with ATG.The production server is up and running fine. But the when I start the BCC it starts but am not able to deploy. The initial deployment is not done . The agent goes into error state with the error "Transport Uninstantiated". No snapshot ID is generated since the initial deployment has not occured.
It gives the following error.

I beleive that this error occurs only if the production is not running or if there are some issues with it. But I have checked and the production is running fine.
Please do help me out. Is there any compatability issues between BCC and B2B? Has anyone used BCC for a B2B application?

If you are sure that host and rmi port is correct, then check if PublishingAgent is running in prod server or not.
Go to /atg/epub/DeploymentAgent in dyn/admin of production. If you have that component then good.
Otherwise there could be that u might have multi-home servers which more than one IP. From the logs find the host the rmi server is listening to.

Publishing error (failed to connect to server)

Using X5, I am trying to publish to our help server (web help
pro), but getting a message in the output window "Warining: Failed
to publish to 'yourserver'. reason: Failed to connect to server.
All my permissions are set up as described here:

So... I ran a packet sniffer and then tried to publish
again... and saw that the publisher attempts to access
http://yourserver/robo/robo.dll?mgr=sys&cmd=svr
When I try to access this address in a browser, I get a 401 error
with the message below.

I can not seem to figure out what ACL is incorrect. I tried
running process monitor (from winternals), and did not see anything
helpful. The IIS www worker process seems to access all the robo
files/registry without error.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can I get some guidance on
how to resolve? We are about to purchase support incidents, but the
sooner I can resolve, the better.

I'm afraid I won't be of much help except to say that this is
a classic permissions issue. I have to assume you've checked and
double-checked the link referred to in your post (which is a good
one).

In helping others troubleshoot this, it sometimes turns out
that there are firewall issues that are not obvious especially if
you are in a large organization crossing many domains from author
to server. Are you the ultimate "server admin" or is there someone
in your organization's network admnistration who could help resolve
the permission issue?

Hi Alexander,
The exception "java.lang.NoSuchMethodError" means that a Java method has been called which does not exist.
Only two possibilities:
a) Your upgrade was only partial successful
b) A bug by SAP
I would consider to reinstall SP12 and if it still doesn't work, open an OSS message.
