Pour quality

When finally trying to burn my 85 min feature to DVD I am quite disappointed to say that the quality is pour.It must have something to do with the burningprocess as the MPEG2 window is exellent. But after burning the images are pale, unsharp and generally speaking not in broadcast quality.
I have tried to reburn it with highest possible bit rate but there is no change.
what have I done wrong?

The answers to your problem can be found here (it has nothing to do with MPEG2 compression):
• Final Cut Pro User Manual, Volume 1, Part IV, Chapter 23
(look at page 330 for how to set up a Proc amp)
It took me a while to understand this, but now that I do...it makes perfect sense! Looks like a gotta drop another $450.00 on a Proc amp, though. Yikes!

  • Pour quality import

    Hello,
I filmed with a SONY HVR-Z1E HDV in DV 50i (16:9) format on a Sony miniDV cassette. I captured the same cassette with a Sony DCR-PC2E (about 8 years of age). My imported images have a poor quality. Do you think this is because the camera I use to import is not "good" enough ?
    Thanks for reading !

You need to be sure you understand that DV and DV50 are different formats and that the Z1E does not shoot DV50, it shoots plain DV (and HDV). Yes, I understand that your frame rate is 50 interlaced fields per second (this is normal for PAL).
The PC2/PC3 does understand 48 kHz audio ... +you need to check your Z1E+ as your settings on the camera may not be what you expect, it might be set to capture 4 channel 32 kHz / 12 bit audio. If so then you should change it back to 2 channel 48 kHz / 16 bit.
Finally, to evaluate the quality you need to look on a proper monitor. Watching in Quicktime is not really good enough to evaluate the quality properly. At the very least you should change your Quicktime Player preferences ... enable the General tab check box labelled "Use high-quality video setting when available"
    Have fun

  • Interactive pdf, pour quality

    Hello!
I'm making an interactive pdf with a little movie in it.
When I export to interactive pdf the quality of de movie is terrible.
I've tried swf and mp4 files. The export settings are put on no compression, 300dpi.
When I preview the imported file in a browser, it lookes perfect, but when I export to pdf it lookes terrible.
    I'm using CS6, Acrobat 10.1.8
    I hope somebody can help.
    Many thanks,
    Chutney

I edit my raw HD video file in Windows Movie maker and save it as H.264.MP4. Then I run it through Adobe Media Encoder to a .f4V file.
I place just a tiny frame to hold the video in the top left of the page (anything too big and it will look terrible if used on an iPad as there's very little to see interactive pdfs on ipads to this date).
Open Media window and select no poster, controller tick to show SkinOverAll and at the bottom right corner click the middle options for exporting interactive pdfs and tick play in floating windw, Max and centre will be greyed out.
This will be your best option. the video will play when the user clicks the page, in its own floating window. the user can enlarge the floating window. In fact they will have to enlarge it because I do not believe Adobe has programmed this function adequately. It should come up in MAX size to fit within your page boundary.
I feel your pain. I've just started a thread on a similar issue regarding interactive floating windows.
Best of luck with your work! I hope this helps you out today for your deadline. Its a pity someone from Adobe can not provide proper assistance to you.

  • 1080p pour export quality for 25p material from Canon HF100 PAL

    Hi
I have now tested iMovie 11 with a Canon HF100 PAL version. Shooting in progressive.
The AIC import has good quality.
New 1080p export gives same pour quality as before when using QuickTime 7 for h.264 export.
    AIC export provides good quality.
So still nu easy way for export from iMovie. Is this common or is it a camera compatibility issue?
    Thanks
    Olof

I just posted this for another user with the same problem.
I have a Sony VG10 camcorder that shoots 30p and records it as 1080i60. iMovie sees this as interlaced video and deinterlaces it IF I use most FX.
So I did a bit of googling and found there is a simple solution. I bought Steve Mullens newest version (09 and 11) of his "Ins and Outs of iMovie." With it I got a free copy of his iMakeFullHD utility. So after importing AVCHD I run the utility on the folder of clips and in a few seconds all the clips are now marked as progressive. Which is actually what they are! iMovie now treats them as 1080p30 -- exactly as it should.
When reading about the utility I remember skipping the stuff on PAL HD camcorders. So I just reread it and it's no big deal eitherl.
If you shoot 1080i50, the video is marked as 1080p25. This is exactly the reverse of what my camera does. So while I need to use iMakeFullHD, PAL users do not.
If you shoot 1080p25, the video is marked as 1080i50. This is exactly like my camera. So you have to use iMakeFullHD to remark it is as progressive -- which is what it is.
Now Ive no idea why Sony or Canon did what they did, but they did. After buying a $2000 camcorder, buying the book was by far the simpler solution.
I know he has a section on 1080p50 and 1080p60 from the tms700. Didn't apply to me so i skimmed it. Also, having had imovie 09 i was surprised to read that 11 now supports real 1080p24. There's also a section on removing 2-3 pulldown from 1080i60 to get 1080p24. Again i just skimmed this in case sony were to release a firmware update so I could shoot 24fps.
One more thing I learned. Because my video really is progressive, I can use all FX. They'll always look perfect.
But, if you shoot 1080i50 -- which imovie sees as 1080p25 -- the good news is that imovie will never deinterlace the clips causing a loss of resolution. But, the clips realy are interlace. this means that sometimes you may see combing during the FX. There are very clear pix of what this looks like in the ebook. But, the solution is so simple -- only shoot 1080p25!
Most of us want to shoot progresssive anyway!
The nice thing is i followed the instrictions on burning 1080 avchd video to DVDs and they play in HD on my BD player. And, i didn't have to buy a BD burner.

Hello, I have got a sony ericsson bluetooth headset with AD2P support and when I try to use it with my mac I have a lot of problems... Kernel panics, pour quality, and a lot of problems when I try to connect it with the mac...
Does anybody have the same problem?

I have exactly the same problem. Trying to connect to my sony-ericsson headset (HBH-DS200) creates a kernel panic every time.

  • Problems watchin videos on different players

    Hi guys,
I have a slow system (1 gb ram, a 1.7 ghz celeron and a on-board video chipset) and that's why I installed Arch. I installed the intel video driver and more video players (vlc, mplayer, smplayer, totem) and the needed codecs. I want to watch some pour quality movies. I had more linux distros including xubuntu (12.04) and ubuntu (9.10). On these distro's the videos played good, even in full screen. On xubuntu it played with smplayer and in ubuntu with vlc. But on Arch I can't make them work. On smplayer it playes very slow and the video and audio are not synced. In full screen it is worse. And vlc doesn't play them at all and the process hangs. What should I do to make them play just fine? If any info's are required tell me and I'll answer. Thanks

    @karol
The output of lspci | grep VGA is:
    01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: S3 Graphics Ltd. VT8375 [ProSavage8 KM266/KL266]
I have tried with mplayer and it works good, but the same problem appears at full screen.
The videos I'm trying to play are 624 x 352 .avi and .mkv
The CPU is almost at 0% when I play the videos
    @skanky
I'll try ffplay and edit the post.
    @Pse
I have installed the video drivers but I don't know how to check they are working corectly.
Thanks, I'll try mplayer-vaapi but still I don't know if the gpu supports VAAPI.
    Thank you all.
    LE:
Installed mplayer-vaapi and it plays slow, just like the others. ffplay works pretty good even in full screen. It still works a little slow, but if I don't have something else to do and it is impossible to make them run like on (x)ubuntu, I'll use this.

  • Only faint sound from X-FI extreme gamer in some speak

I am only getting very faint sound from my front Center speaker and from my back left and right speakers. I have to turn up my speaker volume very high to hear anything at all and what I do hear is very pour quality. I have my system in dual boot with vista and XP. I am only having this problem in XP, in vista the audio is fine. I've checked all the volume controls in windows and the creative software. I've also checked the connections. If I am getting some sound from my front center and from my back left and right the connections have to be hooked up correctly.
I'm going to try downloading the drivers and installing them from there.

This was a clean install of XP Pro x64 and a new driver installation. One hour ago I got a wild hair and removed the X-Fi from Device Manager, disconnected my router, then rebooted. I ran the beta-driver installation program and was notified there was still an old Sound Blaster driver installed. It removed the driver and prompted me to reboot before installing the new drivers. As far as I can tell everything is working so far...no blue screens and sound is fine in BF2. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

  • Poor dvd quality in idvd 09 avchd

My cam is Sony sr12e which is avchd format, when I edit in iMovie 09, it is fine, and I export it using AIC code with as quicktime mov(since many suggested here that it is better than directly share the mov to idvd). Then drag it to idvd but the quality is still poor. The resulting movie looks like water is pouring down walls and people in still shots mouths move as if they were taking. Lots of movement in horizontal lines. Anyway to solve the problem, I can't believe all mac users are experiencing this terrible bug made by Apple.

I can't believe all mac users are experiencing this terrible bug made by Apple.
    It's no bug.
iMovie 09 is a wonderful program assuming that you're using it for what it was designed to do, assemble simple videos to share on the Internet.
I did a compare one day using the same clip burned to DVD from iMovie 06 and from iMovie '09.
The iMovie 06 clip looked like it came from the camera directly and the iMovie 09 clip looked worse. The difference is the single field processing used by iMovie 09 and the fact that it throws out every other horizontal line.
iMovie 06 and iDVD 09 is a "lossless" combination and my DVD's look perfect!

    Cordialement,
    Jean-Benoit Pirotte
possesseur d'un iPhone 5s et client Proximus

I acquired an IPhone 5 for 515€ on October 8th, 2012, with for main selling point the first compatible iPhone 4G LTE (TV commercials, selling point seller). The problem is that in France networks 4G LTE works on different frequency bands according to your operator. Only BOUYGUES (band(strip) 1800 mhz) is compatible with the iPhone 5. Unfortunately I am not at BOUYGUES. Of more new situation for the mark(brand) which removed completely from the sale the IPhone 5 to replace him(it) by the 5S and the 5C it are compatible. Surprising! I thus contacted the technical Apple service to request a sales offer of Call(Appeal) to the resumption of my IPhone 5 for one 5 s Ask motivated by my brand loyalty (1 iPad, 2 iphones) as well as my satisfaction of the quality of their products. In the first one so much I fell on a downright refusal then the same person a senior technician of Apple contacts me by telephone the next day. The technician indicates to me after piece of information with his colleagues, there is a sales department, he sends them an e-mail concerning my demand(request), I should receive an answer by the end of the week. End of the week no piece of news(short story), I thus decide to contact again them, after several expectations(waits) of the technician, to the senior technician, to the superior(higher education), I have for answer; no possible sales offer, I would have to turn around with the operators. To summarize: Apple sold its compatible iPhone 5 4G LTE was a misleading advertising. According to Apple it is in the mobile phone operators to change their frequencies to make compatible a single IPhone smartphone 5. Automobile metaphor: Ford sells a model of cars in France but unfortunately this one cannot roll on our road network problem of conformity with the French standards too wide! The solution is to turn around towards our government to modify our road network! It does not belong to the manufacturer of smartphone to produce their

  • Small size (A6) paper printing and toner leak(pouring out) issue

We have recently purchased 15 pieces of Hp LaserJet P1102w.
We are printing reciepts of size A6 (1/4 of A4). The use of printers are quite heavy - 200 A6 pages per day.(And no other formats)
After a month of usage we are expiriencing a huge problem. (Now it has been 5 printers in period of 3 weeks):
In Some random printers the toner is pouring out. First inside of the printer and then on the table (there is a convinient opening at the bottom). This happens on one side of the cartridge. And the affected drum is heavily dirty on that side.
We checked all kind of possible causes:
The retailer pointed us to this link, that states: "
HP does not recommend printing large quantities of small or narrow paper. Printing large quantities of small or narrow paper can cause toner to leak from the print cartridge and damage the printer or cause print-quality problems."
but this is for HP LaserJet 4200, 4300 Series Printers

My question is: is it true that heavy printing of small paper size can cause this problem? And how probable is it?
What else could have caused this?

  • Preview low quality, how do I change the setting?

I am working with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 with Windows Vista.  The preview is showing in low quality.  It makes it difficule to judge the quality of the footage.  Is there a setting for this.  I have looked in the preferences but didn't see anythig helpful.

Well, Jim there have been three users, IIRC, in the last year or so, where Auto performed better than with Highest. For me, Auto and Highest produce no noticeable difference (on my laptop's GeForce 8800m GTX, and do not even know about my Quadro FX-4500, as it's always been on Highest), and I would have assumed that Highest would always be the best - yet for 3 posters, it was not. Three is not a very large number, but if one considers the number of copies of PrPro sold, factor then by the number of people, who post here. Factor again by the number of posters with questions/problems with the quality of the display in Program Monitor. All of a sudden, 3 might take on statistical significance. I do not recall the video card from any of those posts - could have been the same, or more likely different. When I read the first response, that Auto had worked better, I dismissed it. As time went by and at least two others reported the same, I made a mental note of it - in some cases, it appears that Highest is NOT the best, hence my mention to try each and judge. Why would Auto do better than Highest? I have no clue, but would think that it might have something to do with the video card, its driver, or possibly individual settings in the driver's console, or maybe something like Hardware Acceleration in the OS.
So you can question all that you want. It could be that the posters lied, or became confused over which setting worked best for them, yet with 3, it seems a bit of a stretch.
To cover bases, I mentioned trying each to test, so in this case, the OP should be able to make that determination, with very little time lost - click, click, test.
If it's meaningful to you, perhaps spend the weekend pouring over the posts, say back 18 mos. and see exactly what the circumstances were, that yielded better results on Auto.
    Happy reading,
    Hunt

  • Can I return my new laptop to lenovo because of its quality problem?

IBM is one of the best brand as I know, especially showing us not only high quality of products but the service.
But now one thing happened to me, if I don't have this case I can't believe. I found there is something with the laptop(T61 Model 7658CTO) the same day when I got the new laptop on June 3rd, 2008. Then I call 800, a lot of 800 calls,at last I were told that I should contact send it back first if I were to get another new one. Three days later I got the box sent by Lenovo, and I return it back in terms of what the paper shown.
Unfortunately the problems of the laptop still exist when I turn on my laptop after it repaired. What's wrong with my laptop, this is new one, I think IBM should provide high quality products.
I don't know how to describe the weird sound , it sounds like two or more micphone opened clost to each other. It is very harsh.
I want to get one new laptop from Lenovo because of the quality of product and customer service or can I return the laptop?
I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

Like Obama says... yes you can
I did it last week because I bought an iPhone 4 as a wedding gift but then I changed my mind and wanted an iPad, so the bride could use it together with the groom (while the phone is personal).
I returned the iPhone to the apple store and I paid the difference to buy the 32GB iPad, no problems
I didn't opened the case, but the guy at the apple store told me I could have returned the phone even if it was opened. It must be undamaged tough.
