Power adapter macbook air scratches??

My 15 day old macbook air adapter has developed small scrathes? How to remove them? i think I keep all my accesories in a single pouch might have led to that?

My answer was in response to the above written statement "my accesories in a single pouch".
I did not advise to use  a buublewrap while using the charger.
These polishing solutions/ compounds are not cheap, may not do the job and
even may diminish the sheen. I have tried couple of those.
Best.

  • Amperes in power adapter macbook air

Hello, I have a macbook air and my power adapter has broken so I have to buy a new one, however the one I have was from usa and has input: 1 amperes (100-240v 50-60hz) but the ones I find in Argentina have 1.5 amperes. Is this a problem? Can I use them anyway? Thank you

    Not a problem.

  • Airplane power for MacBook Air?

I am taking a 14 hour flight this summer and I will be bringing my MacBook Air (Magsafe 2) and my iPhone 5. What accessories do I need to keep myself powered up on an American Airlines flight on a 777 that uses DC power? I read they don't use the EmPower plug. Does this mean I can use my iPhone car charger for my phone? Do I need an inverter for the MBA? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • Power adapter macbook pro

I just my local apple dealer asking about a new mag power adapter for my macbook pro. I was told the 85 watt power adapters were recalled. What gives?

I haven't seen anything official about a recall.
If you look through some of the other threads in here, a number of people have been having problems with the cord fraying and/or melting, causing them to stop working.
I currently have a repair request in; the person at the genius bar said nothing about a recall. From my conversation with him, it seems I am only getting the replacement for free because I had my Mac in for a hard drive repair less than 90 days ago.
    YMMV.

  • ITunes 11.3 spawns Distnoted daemon which uses all processing power on MacBook Air

Since upgrading to iTunes 11.3 on my work MacBook Air (11 inch, Mid-2013), whenever I run the programme it spawns multiple Distnoted daemons which run up to 250% or more of processing power. I'm assuming this includes multiple threads, given the size of the number.
As a result of this, the computer gets very hot, and therefore I can't actually use iTunes for more than about 15 minutes - quitting iTunes solves the issue, though it normally takes the MacBook a good long time to cool down.
This is, I note, an issue which has occurred before in Windows versions of iTunes, but I couldn't find any Mac-related issues on the discussions forum, so I wonder if it's a bug in 11.3 or the current version of Distnoted? Either way, it's pretty intolerable.

I can't tell much from that. In general, a runaway distnoted process correlates with a failing storage device, but there could be other reasons for it that I don't know about. You might be able to find out more by following the instructions below, but only do so if you feel comfortable with them.
    Back up all data.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    sudo touch /var/log/do_dnserver_log; sudo chmod a+rw $_
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Confirm. You don't need to post the warning.
If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Log in as one and start over.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal.
After the next episode, open the log do_dnserver_log in Console and post the last couple of dozen lines, if any.
After that, you should delete the log file by dragging it to the Trash in the Finder. You'll be prompted for your administrator password.

What happens if you use the 85W adapter on the air?

It's Ok to use an adapter of a higher wattage then the one that came it.

  • Macbook Air shuts down if it is not plugged into the power outlet through the adapter. What is happening?

    Problem description:
Mid-2013 Macbook Air 13 inch. Shuts down when unplugged from power adapter. It 1st started just shutting down intermittently on battery power. Sometimes when it powers back-up on the battery power only the fan would be blowing hard. But it is now at the point that if it is not connected to the power adapter it will not come on. I have tried resetting SMC and PRAM but to no avail. The battery is showing 100% charge with only 137 battery cycle count.

Tried to reset SMC many times but it didn't change anything. The battery however is no longer being charged by the adapter even the computer is plugged in. The light remains orange. I restored to one of my earlier back-ups on time machine with Mavericks and the iWorm and malware returned. So, I decided to erase the hard drive and restore to original OS. I was able to restore to Yosemite. Here is the result of the latest estrecheck and battery info:

At this point, the computer works fine with the adapter plugged in, light remains orange, the battery is not being charged. I believe the computer will still turn off once I unplugged the adapter from the computer although the battery is supposedly 88% charged.
If this is a hardware problem I hope it's just the battery. I believe that's the next step I have to take. Unless anyone has any other ideas.
