Power Adapters: moving from Japan to Australia

I have purchased an iBook G4, iPod 5G & Airport Express Basestation while in Japan (2005).
Am I able to purchase 3 x Australian adapters for their respective power adapters? The World travel kit Is Not Enough.
And will these require any additional converters in Australia?
Regards.

Is there anything with wireless networks, wi-fi that would be different than the standards here in North- America?
No.
If nothing changes except for the plug, i was thinking for the macbook that she can just purchase the new australian power adapter.
The device or adaptor needs to take power which comes at 230 volts and 50Hz. Check the specifications for compatibility.

  • I moved from Canada to Australia and don't want to blow my iMac up

So I moved from Canada to Australia and dont want to blow the thing up when I turn it on. I'm wondering if I need to get a whole new power cord (different voltages etc) or i can just use an adapter? I'm not really keen on using an adapter though..
    It's a 2011 iMac 27"
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
    Katie

2011 iMacs are suitable for power of 100V to 140V, 50hz to 60hz power. So you won't fry the system. You can either use a wall adapter for your plug or buy a new Australia-specific power cord from a local Apple dealer (find one at http://www.apple.com/au/retail) or an Apple Authorized Service Provider at http://www.apple.com/au/service/.  Or try Apple Australia Online at 133 622

  • HT1918 Want to change the region of my address as I have moved from UK to Australia and have cancelled my uk bank

Hi, I've recently moved to Australia from the UK and I can't seem to update my payment method as I've cancelled my old UK bank account.

Before you can change countries in iTunes, you will need to have a valid payment information addressed in Ireland. When you have one, you can go ahead and change the country on your account.
    - sign in to iTunes
    - go to Account Information page
    - enter your Apple Id and password
    - click on Change country or Region
    - enter your new information then save
If you will have a hard time, I suggest contacting email support.

  • Travelling: From Japan to Australia

Early next year I'll be going to Australia for a month or so. I assume I can use my iPhone 3G there with a local phone carrier. So my questions are:
    1. Really? Is it possible?
    2. Which carrier?
    3. Is there some sort of pre-paid or one-month contracts available?
    4. Any problems or issues I should expect?
    5. I heard five years ago that iPods were illegal in Australia, as they breached copyright there. Is it still true?

The iPhone is sold in Australia which includes an iPod, and I believe iPods are sold there also.
If your iPhone was sold as carrier locked with a carrier in Japan, you will be able to use your iPhone with a GSM carrier in Australia at international roaming rates thru the carrier for your iPhone in Japan. Check with your carrier in Japan for international roaming partners they have in Australia. This will determine which carrier or carriers you will be able to use with your iPhone while in Australia. International roaming rates are expensive.

  • Power Adapter - Moving from US to UK

    Hello,
I just bought a new hp Pavilion dv7-4295us  laptop  in the United States.
I live in the Republic of Ireland / UK however.
Do I need a new power adapter,  and if so can you recommend which one?
    Thanks,
    cmps3

No, the AC adpater will work, you just need an adapter for the wall socket to convert it to USA style.

  • I need to change from Japan App Store to Australia App Store. I get this every time I try using My MacID: "This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the Japanese iTunes Store. You will be switched to that Store." What next TY. JohnCahill

I moved from Japan to Australia. I need to change from Japan App Store to the Australian App Store. I get the following message every time I try using My MacID which was set up in Japan: "This Apple ID is only valid for purchases in the Japanese iTunes Store. You will be switched to that Store." At one point... by which path I do not remember... I was instructed to created a new ID. I fill out the new ID forms, but the address is rejected each time... quite confusing. Does it want a new name? But it says I cannot use an apple domain (tag?) even though I guess it has to be an apple address... ? So I have iTunes crdit cards purchansed in Australia, can't spend in AUstralian iTunes Store, get directed back to Japan each time, and can't open a new ID... What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance.  John. Australia.

You must have a separate Apple ID registered in the other store along with a valid bank-issued charge card in the other country, and a legal billing address in the other country.
Sorry... But... You cannot use other countries itunes stores.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country..

  • Moving from one country's itunes to another, changing iCloud?

Hi there. I just moved from NZ to Australia. Currently my mac and iPhone are synced via my NZ iTunes iCloud. However, I want to change them to an Australian iTunes acount. If I change my mac and iPhone to an Australian account, will all the previous entries into my calendar, notes etc sync over as well or will they be left in the NZ cloud? I'm wanting to bring everything over to the Australian account. Thanks in advance!

I am no expert, but I think it has to do with opting for managing music manually in iTunes.

  • Direction on safe power adapters for iPods from US to Travel in France

Hello, I searched other topics found the Apple power adapter plug for the ipod discussesd this topic (which I do already have), but it did not SPECIFICALLY say that it will convert from US (110v) to Euro - France (220) volt. All the instructions from available power adapters (non-Apple) specifically say 'not for use with stereo or musical equipment.'
Help ! Can I just plug in my Apple ipod power adapter INTO a standard 110v to 220v converter and not worry about problems? Do I need to look for a special voltage adapter that works between certain amps or voltage ranges?
Best Buy, Radio Shack, Travel Smith and Sharper Image were NO help.
Looking not to fry my 60GB video ipod during a month long trip to Europe..

    hiya!
but it did not SPECIFICALLY say that it will convert from US (110v) to Euro - France (220) volt.
the accepted input power range is given in the "About the Apple iPod Power Adapter's Voltage Requirements" section in this document:

... and there's info on the World Travel Adapter Kit given in the "Charging iPod around the World" section in this document:

  • I am moving to Alice Springs, Australia, this summer from the U.S. I would like to get the new iPad. How can I found out if I will be able to access all the functionality in Alice? Will I need to purchase a local plan of some sort?

I am moving to Alice Springs, Australia, this summer from the U.S. I would like to get the new iPad to use while traveling back and forth from the U.S. to Australia, and within Australia. How can I found out if I will be able to access all the functionality of the iPad in Alice? Will I need to purchase a local plan of some sort? I have never owned an Apple product before -- I'm a newby!

Aside form the limitation of LTE to the 700MHz and 2.1GHz bands (which rules out LTE in Europe I gather, at least as it stands now) the new iPad should let you use a GSM 3g/2g/edge network anywhere.  The CDMA Verizon model will only be able to use it's native CDMA radio band in the USA (that radio will be locked to Verizon), but it's international GSM radio is the same as the AT&T model.
Keep in mind though that by far the cheapest option when abroad is to take advantage of free wifi as much as possible (well, that is always the cheapest option, since it is free).  I know several people who have taken their wifi-only iPads and iPad2s to Europe and said they did not find the lack of 3G really inconvenient at all as most towns had plenty of free or cheap wifi access all over the place.
And in 3 years, your iPad will be at least 2-3 generations behind, LTE will have already been replaced by 5G or whatever the next new generation of cellular ends up being named (and the "young" kids will be wondering what the heck 3G even means or meant - dang that stuff was from the olden days!), and you can pitch that ancient piece of technology and start things all over again
