Power BI Set Up

Hi,
I signed up to Power BI over a week ago as we need to be able to work on the same Excel document at the same time and was told Power BI was the way to do it. However, when i try to open POwer BI it just says 'We are working on it' and then a screen comes
up saying 'we are almost ready'. It has been like this for over a week now and we really need to start using it. Im obviously doing something wrong. Can someone please help?
Regards
Scott

Hi Robin,
Can you verify whether you are able to connect to gateway ‘going2’ on the machine with ClickOnce launched?
For your statement "But when we create a data source, during the set credentials set up we are getting and error ". Were you trying to setup a Enable Cloud Access data source?
Does this error message throw out from the Click-Once application which used to enter credential to access the data source?
Please make sure the instance status shows like below before you create data source.
Thanks!
Charlie

  • Power Manager Setting To Preserve Battery Life When Using A Docking Station

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X220 which is about 19 months old.  When at work, the computer is in a Lenovo docking station.  At the end of the day, it is removed and any further evening use is typically on the battery.
Yesterday, the battery symbol in the tray at the bottom of the screen displayed a red X on it and indicated that there was an "error".  I presume from this that that battery is dead and needs to be replaced.  I am surprised by the comparatively short life of this battery.
I was thinking that perhaps the use of the powered docking station played some role in shortening the battery's life.  For example, it may have repeatedly overcharged the battery.
Is there a Power Manager setting that will reduce the likelihood that the battery is being overcharged while in the docking station?  In the future, is it feasible to simply remove the battery before inserting it into the docking station so that this won't continue to occur?
    Thank you.
(I did a search of the community's knowledgebase, but didn't find anything on point.)

    Hi,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that battery of your Lenovo ThinkPad X220 had undergone wear and tear and has to be replaced.
Capacity of a battery declines as the battery ages, with the number of charge cycles and time at high temperature. Under average usage patterns your battery maintains approximately 70% of its power capacity after the first year of operation.
Most laptops today use lithium Ion (Li-ion) batteries. Overcharging Li-ion batteries is not a problem and does not affect the battery life span. These batteries have an internal circuit to stop the charging process at full charge. This is why the Li-ion batteries are more expensive. The only way for the Li-ion battery to overcharge is if the charging system malfunctions, and then the battery will heat up while in the charger. Older laptops use Nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) and Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) batteries. They require more maintenance than Lithium Ion batteries. They must be fully discharged and then fully recharged so that they don't lose battery life.
Refer this document to see the tips on how to increase the battery life.
Hope this provided enough clarity for your query!
    Best regards,
    Mithun.

  • Auto power down setting?

Can someone tell me if there is a setting that will automatically power down the G3 phone, say at midnight and power up at 6 am? Should be able to increase battery charge by ~25%. Thanks.

No such setting exists. You have to do it yourself.
If have a dock and charger on my bed stand. Plug the phone in at night, and let it's alarm wake me up. Start each day with a full charge.

  • Modifing the power management setting

Hi, I'm not able to make changes in the power management prefpane in this sense: I adjust the 2 cursors (it's a macmini with osx 10.6.4) and quit system preferences; but if I reopen the prefpane the setting appears unchanged.
I've looked for .plist to trash but I don't know what file to trash.
    Any help? Thanks.

    Try the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.powermanagement.plist.

    That was it, thanks at0m5k!
Everything was commented out in /etc/systemd/logind.conf, I have uncommented HandlePowerKey,HandleSuspendKey, HandleHibernateKey (all, just to be sure) and set them to ignore.

  • T440s, hard(ware) power down if power button set to sleep?

Was wondering if I set my powre button to 'sleep' for easy on and off for sleep (since I'm in class/mobile and on and off frequently to save battery) how can I HARD press the power button to shut off/poewr down the computer? Is there a way to do this?
Also, if I have an extended 6Wh battery...is the time when both batteries are in....the time of hte larger battery or both batteries combined?

    Hi,
It should be related to the power settings, ahat is the power settings for your machine? You can manually check Control panel\Power Option\Put the computer to sleep, have you set this option?
To find out whether there're some other GPOs applied to the machine, please run cmd RSOP and gpresult /r to have a check.

  • Screen stays on all the time power savings set up

My imac's screen stays on all the time now once I upgraded snow leopard to 10.6.3 it has been doing this since I got the settings so that the screen turns off 3 minutes after inactivity but the screen never turns off now.
the only time the screen turns off is when front row is running.
    Any ideas?

That is a bit quick to turn off the display from inactivity but that would be a personal choice. I let mine run for at least 10 minutes before the Screen Saver activates and then another ten minutes before turning off the display.
Try resetting the PRAM and the Systems Management Controller.
    Reset the PRAM
    • (Re)start the computer
    • Immediately press & hold the CommandOption+PR keys
    • Wait for two startup chimes
    • Release the keys and allow the computer to boot.
    Reset the SMC
    • Shut down the computer.
    • Detach the computer's power cord.
    • Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    • Release the power button.
    • Reattach the computers power cable.
    • Turn on the computer.

  • CPU Power Management Setting in BIOS

What is the downside to disabling this setting in BIOS other than reduced battery life?
I'm trying to improve  AS SSD "4K-64Thrd" performance on my SSD.

    Hi paa55112
If I am not wrong, none other than reduced battery life.
For SSD, you could try PerfectDisk and use SSD Optimize to improve 4K read / write performance

  • HP Power Manager & Set Up Manager Blocked Windows 10

After the recent upgrade to windows 10 , I can no longer access HP PowerManager, or HP setup mamager.  The message is 'This app has been blocked for your protection' An administrator has blocked you from using this app...Publisher not trusted.   I am the only user, I am the administrator  I am six secnds away from unistalling Windows 10. Any insight would be appreciated.

Graphics driver and power manager search successful. I went to HP support site itself, key in my model of HP notebook, which is HP Pavilion m6 Entertainment Notebook PC. 1. Then I just look for a list of software I need, select ones I need; that is AMD Catalyst Control Center for Radeon HD 7670M, high definition switchable graphics. Downloaded it and installed. The screen goes black, intermittenly a few times and then when the installation in the back ground is finished, the computer works beautifully with good graphics on the notebook screen as well as my extended extra big screen. Nice experience. By the way it looks like all the m6 uses the compatible drivers, even though the other number may be slightly different like m6-1035tx, m6-1000tx, m6-1009tx . Here is the site I went with my specific modelhttp://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=5283110&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&query=B9J98PA#ABG&tool...Go in there and change the model in the search. 2. To look for Power Manager software, put "power manager' in Search.HP Power Manager for Win 7 32 or 64, reinstall well in the Win 8 environment. Win 8 accepts lower versions and works well. Do this only if your system prompt you to reinstall. All the best.

  • Power manager setting for battery on AC

    Hello,
99% of the time I keep my T61 14" plugged into the wall and was wondering what the recommended battery settings would be in Power manager? I guess this mainly refers to the charge thresholds.  Currently I just have the checkbox selected that says "optimize for battery life".
    Thanks for any suggestions.

If you want to maximize battery life it's best to remove the battery at around 40% charge and store it separately in a cool, dry location. Check it every few months and recharge it as necessary. If you leave the battery inside your ThinkPad, even with optimized recharge settings, the heat from the system will reduce battery life.

  • Power Saving Options on MacBook Pro 13"

    hey guys,
as above. it seems like power options (eg. high performance, maximum battery, .etc) are not present on my macbook. is there anything wrong? what should i do get to get them back? i dont intend to have my notebook running at full speed evertime im using... id rather have longer battery life.
    thanks

On the unibody MBPs with dual graphics cards, those options are the way one switches between the graphics cards. Since your MBP only has one graphics card, it seems logical for those options to be absent.
On my (older) MBP, those options are available in System Preferences > Energy Saver > Optimization pop-up menu, or by clicking on the battery icon in the menu bar - but, all they do is set 'default' times for display and system sleep (e.g. for the Power Adapter, setting to Better Performance sets system sleep to never and display sleep to 20 minutes, whereas Normal sets both sleeps to 10 minutes, etc.). So, 'Performance' has nothing to do with the CPU/GPU in that context.
