my power book G5 is doing nothing but flashing a ? mark on the screen, it won't display anything, help please.

OK, first - do you mean a PowerMac G5 (a large tower), or some kind of PowerBook (there's no PowerBook G5)? What version of Mac OS X do you have installed? Add the correct info to your profile using the link to the right, and it'll help us answer your question.
Generally, the symptom you're describing means that the computer can't find a working system - so your hard drive may have problems, or your system files have become corrupt. One thing you could try is to use your original Mac install disks to run diagnostics or reinstall the system, but give us your correct Mac info first so we can help narrow it down.

iMacs came in both G5 and Intel models and are both white in appearance. To tell the difference between those two, you need to read the EMC model on the foot, and use Apple's article here:

Powerbooks and iBooks are both clearly indicated what machine processor they are under the screen. If your 4 or 3 key is broke, feel free to use Roman numerals:

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the hard drive data is somehow corrupted.
Put your install DVD into the drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the optical drive.
Once it has finished booting and you are at the Install screen launch Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is then select the First Aid Tab run Repair Disk and if that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

3) Quit all applications to ensure nothing is actively using Flash. You can even do the next step while booted to Safe Mode to make sure.

Flash player 11.1 hack on PowerPC - https://discussions.apple.com/message/16990862 - this gets FP to tell web sites you are running a newer version than you really are. This gets around web sites that don't really need a new version but think they know best. If they really do require it then this hack doesn't work.

My specs are as follows,
OSX 10.6.8
2.66 GHz processor -Partioned, 50/50. The MAC 1/2 has 183.5 GB free
4 GB memory - 1.4GB Free.
I have recently installed some anti-virus software, could this be an issue. It is "KERPERSKY Anti Virus"
By the way My Safari also crashes. and I get this error report.

Power book funeral??????

For the last few weeks my Power Book has been crashing. Lately it froze and crashed doing everything but internet and email so I ran the Tech Tool and ran the Apple diagnostic disk with the results below.
Tech Tool-Volume Structure Failed (Error:-92)-Repair

The volume needs to be repaired

Can anyone please interpret these dismal sounding warning for me please?

The flashing ? folder merely means it has no system folder it can see. A bad directory can cause this problem*:

The bad directory may also be the result of an automatic shutdown not happening properly like you described, so it is hard to know which came first, the chicken or the egg.
It is also hard to know if the result of the bad directory has also rendered the power management preferences damaged, or if the power manager itself or battery is damaged.

You can modify the modem script you use to send additional AT commands to the modem. The Apple modem uses the basic Motorola command set. You can find the manual here.

Just set up iTunes for windows but when I try to sync my iPhone to this it says I have another iTunes library on my power book. It than asks if I want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library. I used the same library on the windows is blank
