Power Button - How Long Must I Hold It to Power On?

I just recently purchased my iPad and noticed that I might not be using the power button correctly.
I am able to power down succesfully without any problem, but I'm a bit confused on how long I need to hold down the power button to power up. Sometimes it seems that pressing the button once with a single 'click' powers up. Other times it seems I must press the button slightly longer before it will power up.
Can anyone comfirm how long I must press the power button?

Hold the power button for a few seconds to power down the iPad. Press it again for s few sends to power it up again.
When the unit is on, you can press the power button to turn the screen off and put it to sleep. Pressing it again ( or the home button) will wake it up.

Apple is always working on updates for all current products. If there is some way they can improve compatibility with more 3rd party routers, they will certainly do it. That is no guarantee that any potential future improvement will help you. The best solution is to replace your router with one that works with the iPad.

How long must we wait so that Sun will decide to launch this product?!!!
And what about Personal Java for WindowsCE 3.0 (not a beta release, a final and stable one)? There are VM that we can buy (Insignia), but the principles of Sun and Java are Open Source and free licenses not Open Source BUY IT?!!!!! Besides that this version do not support the possibility to access to MS Pocket Access Database...
Does anyone know something about this?

Why don't you use J2SE instead, that way you don't have to wait for J2ME anymore!!!!!

ISE - How long ISE will hold the profiled devices?

Hi,
After ISE profiles a device, for how long it holds that information in the endpoint identity store? Is there a purge mechanism? The reason I ask is, what if a guest comes and connects to a network and never comes back again. Will ISE hold the profiled MAC address of the device for ever? Is there a way to purge if the MAC is not seen on the network for x days? Or is there a manual purge?
Any help is appreciated.

I have an enhancement request in TAC asking for this feature. I have an ISE deployment which wants users to be statically assigned which will overwhelm the db after some time. I will have to check my notes and will forward the bug id to you.

Let's try this question: How long should a 2nd Gen iPod hold a charge if it's fully charged and hasn't been removed from the dock?

That depends on whether the dock is powered or not.
If it's powered, it's constantly charging, so the answer is forever.
If the dock's not powered, then I don't know.
It varies by iPod model (or any device for that matter) and the age of the battery.
The older a battery gets, the less able it is to hold a good charge.

thanks for the help. the answers have varied and i was not sure if all the deviations were a result of the technical issues associated with this product. people are rightfully worried (and over-worried) that a player costing upwards of two hundred dollars may need extra attention, esp. if its sensiti've and moody.
i thought i may have undercharged it. the whole system locked, down to the power button. rotating the batteries didn't help either. i tried for a refund but newegg will only do an exchange/repair. rats ! i am going to have to tought this out.

How long does TM hold backups?

I have a 1TB HD I am using as my TM back up disk. It currently has 429GB available.
When I go into Restore it only lets me restore from about 1.5 months ago, yet when I look on the hard disk I can see the earliest date is in April, how can I get TM to restore files from this date?
I also thought TM was a safe place to store files but have noticed that it is deleting older dates, will it just delete everything past a certain date even though there is plenty of space on the HD?

TM makes hourly backups "today," saves all of yesterday's, before that they are daily for the current month, and before that weekly. TM will automatically delete the oldest files when it runs out of space.
I do not understand the 1.5 month issue you posted. That is not, as far as I know, normal.

How long must I wait on Apple to deliver iTunes Match results?

I have tried three times the following:
I have started iTunes Match and it runs and then after about two hours stops and I get "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results...". The first time I waited about 6 hours. The second time was over night - about 10 hours. Now I have waited 3 days and it still is waiting!!! I renewed iTunes Match a month ago. Since iTunes 12 Match has been working for sh*t! Now I am angry having just paid for something that again is not working!!! PLEASE Apple help!

It all depends on the amount of songs that you are trying to upload and your internet speed!
When I first signed up for iTunes Match it had over 600 songs to upload which took about 6 hours.
Make sure you are on the latest version iTunes also.
If that does work just completely turn disable iTunes Match by clicking Store > Turn Off iTunes Match > Turn On iTunes Match
iTunesMatch has been very buggylately whichis Apple's fault.

Disk Mode? How long pressing the select and play buttons?

Please, I`ve tried everything to turn it on my ipod since i drop it. It doesn`t appear in itunes or desktop, or my computer. It was with that exclamation mark. I was trying to turn to Disk mode, but it doesn`t go!! For how long should i hold the select and play buttons? I was holding for about 5 minutes until i gave up. Does it take that long?

How to put your iPod into disk mode:
1) First, make sure that your iPod is mostly charged.
2) Toggle the "hold" switch on/off a few times.
3) Hold the "menu" and "select" (center) buttons down together for 7 seconds.
4) As soon as the Apple logo appears on the screen, let off the menu and center buttons, and immediately click the "select" (center) and "play/pause" buttons until the "disk mode" screen appears.
If that didn't work, your iPod might be broken.
But before you presume that, try those four steps above several more times. Sometimes you need to do this step several times before you get the hang of it.

Could be the battery is completely drained. Use the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Let it charge for at least an hour. Then, while it is still plugged in reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
If the device restarts let it remain on the charger until the battery indicates 100%. If it still will not turn on Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.
