Power button jammed on my ipod nano 6g!

My iPod nano's power button is jammed! I really like the iPod but if its too expensive to get it repaired I'm ditching the idea! Its not under warranty! My iPod nano 1g was replaced with this one by apple! My 1g worked fine and this broke down quickly .. I started using it only a few days back!

It's $65, since Apple gives 8GB models for those using the iPod nano 1st generation replacement program.

The Sad face icon is usually a very good indication of a hardware malfunction or failure usually with the iPod's Hard Drive, which would also explain the loud clicking noise you are hearing.
I assume you have seen this article yet?

  • Where in itunes can I find the eject button for my new ipod nano?

Where in itunes can I find the eject button for my new ipod nano?

When in iTunes on the top R it should say your name and ipod and then there is a triangle pointing up with one or two lines underneath.  Just click on that and then it's ok to disconnect.

  • Iphone 4s power button jammed twice

I Purchased the Iphone4s in Nov. 2011. The power button jammed in August 2012. They replaced it for free and 5 months later it jammed again. They said since it is out of warrenty that I had to pay for a new one. They showed me how to use AssistiveTouch. It very annoying because I  waste battery because I can't lock the phone and sometimes the phone does not automatically go off beause it is  in my pocket.
I understand it is out of warranty, but the power button is a well known defect in the Iphone.
I really like the IPhone 4S but this is the 2nd phone that barley made it halfway through the intended warranty. I want to get another Iphone when my upgrade is avalaible, but I can't see bying another Iphone and having the same issue.
    What should I do?

If your upgrade is to another 4S, then you get free replacements for 2 years with the AppleCare if the button dies. So, even if your luck is on the bad side again, you'll pay for that AppleCare in two replacements. You can always get the $69 AppleCare which does the same thing, except it doesn't include provisions for accidental damage.
Anyway, you're luck with it happening to two phones isn't good, but it's also unusual. If the phone was a refurb that might have something to do with it.
I mean, I would say go for it, cause even if the lock button does jam, you get a hardware coverage for the first year, which means you don't pay to fix it, just take it to an Apple store for exchange. You pay $69 when you upgrade, then you get that perk for two years. I say it's worth it.

  • IPod power button jammed

I have an iPod 4th generation which is pretty old, but just a couple days ago, the power button got stuck.  This is the first time that this happened to me, so do I have to get it replaced, or is there another solution? Thank you!

    Hello, SparklingSofia.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would recommend trying the troubleshooting steps in the section labeled Buttons and Switches.  These steps are labeled for the iPhone, but they will also work for the iPod touch.

  • Lock/power button jammed

this is my third iphone 4 since november 2011, all hardware problems, i didnt drop or anything, first was the power button was jammed, got a new one, then there was so sound, so i got this one for about 3 months and now the power button is jammed again, this is beginning to become a pain, why are these refurbished iphones so ******? should i bring it in to apple, will they replace it for free? and how do i know this wont happen again and again

It depends on whether or not it's determined to be physical damage caused by a drop etc. If the phone is under warranty and it's determined not to be from misuse or physical damage, they should swap it out for you. If it's physical damage and the store is tough about their terms, it may cost you $199. Hopefully they'll be able to swap it from the LED flash issue, since that seems to be a hardware defect.

  • Power Button Stuck on 6th Gen Nano

    Hi,
If the Power button gets stuck (in the "ON" position) on my 6th gen Nano, and the device is less than a year old, can I still get Apple to replace it with a new one --- even if all I have is just the serial number on the device and nothing else?
Or do I need the receipt, and original box & packaging, etc...
    Thanks.

You are still under warranty for a repair.  Call Apple tech support and report the problem to them.
Have you considered purchasing AppleCare?  Extends your warranty 2 more years.

  • Transfer library from Power Book to MacBook using Ipod Nano 4 GB

I went through all the steps to use my Ipod Nano to transfer my libray. I checked to see if there is enough space on my ipod - there is. However, when I drag the Itunes folder to the Ipod I get the message "The item Itunes cannot be copied because there is not enough free space" ???
    Any ideas what's wrong?

Do you have any music / photos, etc synced to the iPod or is it totally empty?
