Hi lvmullay,
Based on the information you have provided, it appears your iPhone needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.

  • IPhone 5 power button sticking?

Anyone else having the issue where your power button on iPhone 5 sometimes just doesn't work, and at other times it seems to work perfectly? I want the thing to go completely bad so they'll be forced to replace it, but every time I've tried to go to the genius bar, it starts working.
    Immensely frustrated.

    Hi jonikerr,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the troubleshooting tips in the article linked below which can help you resolve the issue with the Sleep/Wake button on your iPhone 5.
Get help with buttons and switches on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If the Sleep/Wake button doesn't work
On iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the Sleep/Wake button is on the right side of the device, near the top. On earlier models, the Sleep/Wake button is on the top of the device, toward the right side.
If the Sleep/Wake button isn't working and your iOS device is on, follow these steps:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button.
If you see "slide to power off," turn off your device and then turn it on again.
If you can't turn off your device, try to reset it.
If the Sleep/Wake button still doesn't respond, follow these steps and test again:
Check for debris or dirt around the Sleep/Wake button and clean it with a soft cloth.
    Remove any case or film.
If you can't turn on your iOS device, connect it to an A/C adapter. When your device is charged, try the steps above again. If the battery is extremely low on power, your device might display a black screen for up to 10 minutes (up to 20 minutes for iPad) before you see a charging indicator on the screen.
If you have an iPhone 5 and the Sleep/Wake button still isn't working, or works intermittently, you might be eligible for this replacement program.
If you've followed the steps above and the Sleep/Wake button still doesn't respond, if it works intermittently, or if it's damaged, contact Apple Support to set up service.
    So long,
    -Jason

  • HT4528 Power button on iPhone 4

The power button on my iPhone 4 won't work. The phone hasn't been dropped or anything it just randomly stopped working, it almost seems like its stuck. Anyone else have this problem/know how to solve it??

Depending on how long you have purchased it, you have Apple Care up to a certain number of days and a year warranty on defects etc. go to an Apple Store and have them repair it. I would not use Verizons Assurion insurance since you will get a second hand piece of junk. I personally would just use the Apple Store which I believe now does repairs for certain issues on the spot. If you don't have Assurion supplement insurance the manufacturers replacement via Verizon is also a refurbished piece of junk which may have a worse issue than the one you have now.
    Good Luck

  • Power button on Iphone 4 8GB Black broken

Hello...my wife's power button on her IPhone 4 is not working and seems to be depressed in the case. I have tried to clean out around the area but it's still won't work right. She uses a case so the button is not exposed to any outside elements. The phone has not been dropped. We have the insurance. Can we take this to out local Verizon Store to get replaced or fixed?

  • Resetting Phone with No Power Button and iPhone Not Backed Up Message Blocking the Slide to Power Off Feature

I've learned how to reset the phone after an iPhone Not Backed Up message cannot be clicked off of, but my Power button is not working and I've been using the greyed out screen button to lock the screen and power off. Now it is not working to turn the phone off for a reset because the iPhone Not Backed Up message is in the way of sliding the power off feature on the screen. Do I have any options?

    Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep\Wake and Home Buttons until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears

  • What i can do when my power button of iphone is not working

What can i do my iphone 4 power button is not working and its in warrenty

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store. Or take it to an authorized Apple Repair Center. Or take it to your carrier. Or, send it to Apple for warranty service.

  • Macbook Pro power button sticks

I just bought a new Macbook Pro, and the power button is a nightmare. It is incredibly difficult to depress. I'm worried I'm going to break it. Is this a common problem? Is there a solution? I see no other way to power the unit on.

If you bought the machine less than 14 days ago, and it wasn't custom configured through the Apple Online Store, and you have an Apple Store nearby, go there and ask to exchange it.
If it was custom configured or you bought it more than 14 days ago, you can't exchange it; it will need to be repaired. The Genius Bar at an Apple Store will be the best source of information about how long that's likely to take.

  • Please i need help. My iphone 4s have a temperature warning then the iphone turn-off right away and no matter how we press the power button the iphone doesnt start..please help me.

i already charged it but nothing shows in the screen.. i did the long pressing both home button and sleep/wake button still no result.. please help me..

If it has a temperature warning, you may have over heated it. Keep it inside and at a cooler temperature exposure. Give it some time. Try holding down the home button and the power button at the same time until something happens.

  • HT4972 how to press power button for iphone

    I can"t open iphone

Like any other button, you place a finger on it and press.
What does this have to do with "opening" an iPhone?  By that do you mean getting past the lock screen?  Carrier unlocking the device? Or did you possibly mean physically opening the device (i.e. opening the case)?
What does this have to do with iPhones in the Enterprise, the forum to which you posted this cryptic question?

  • Is there a way to disable the power button when iPhone is lock with a pass code?

This is for security reason as you can still track ur iPhone/iPad when someone decides to steal it. My iPad 2 64gb + 3G and a MacBook Pro 17 was recently stolen and I was able to track it 10-15 mins (after the incident) until the thieve(s) decided to turn the iPad off. It would be great if someone or even Apple could add this option to the cellular versions so victims of theft could have a slight chance of retrieving stuff back (with the help of law enforcements).

You cannot at this time. Feedback to Apple goes at www.apple.com/feedback. There are other ways for a thief to disable Find my iPhone. It is not really intended to track stolen devices although it will, it is more for lost devices.

  • I phone 4 power button

My power button on iPhone is now broken went to Genius Bar last night and she looked at my phone with a flash light and said oh u need a new phone. My warranty was up dec 29. They showed me the temporary fix. I am so mad not impressed at all

        Hello to you Kevin8510!
The sleep/power button is a pretty important button! I'm sorry to hear that it isn't working properly for you.
We definitely want to help out in any way we can!  As Soupcannon mentioned, we would want to verify your warranty.  If you're still covered under your warranty and the issue is a physical defect not caused by any damage we should be able to replace it.
Please consider your account options.  If you have extended warranty, let us know!  If you have insurance, please contact Asurion at www.phoneclaim.com.  If you have Apple Care, please contact Apple Support at 800-275-2273.
I'm confident this information will get you on the right path.
    Thank you!
