Power Cover stops working pretty much as soon as it starts

So, as soon as I touch the screen or use an external mouse, the power cover stops working. If I only use the keyboard or touch pad it works fine. When it stops working the Event Viewer has any of a few messages but the most often one is that a device reported
inconsistent contact information. I've tried all of the remedies suggested earlier (uninstalling, rebooting, letting windows re-install it on boot up, manually installing the driver, etc, etc.) and nothing is fixing this problem. This is even after the windows
8.1 update. I just got the power cover today and it's essentially a brick.
Any ideas? This is 100% reproducible (and I live in Redmond if anyone wants to see this). While I've installed a bunch of software, most of it is windows stuff, office and visual studio and none of those are running when this happens. The mouse I'm using
is a wedge mouse, also from Microsoft and obviously the touch screen is the touch screen but there seems to be a serious issue here.

I was wrong - it just stopped working and I didn't use the external mouse or the touch screen.

How about your problem now? If problem persists, Please try to run this command to repair online image:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Make sure you run this command as administrator.

    Suddenly my phone's power button stopped working. I can't lock/unlock the phone nor turn it off :/ Tried to take a screen shot, to restart the device but nothing happened.   • Qosmio X500: power adapter stopped working for no reason

    Hi,
    Now i have my Qosmio X500 for a year and i like it, however i have small problems with it, and i would like to know if it can be problematic.
    The first thing is that my power adapter stopped working for no reason,
    So i bought a new one, but it always made some noise when the laptop was fully charged.
    I know people with the same laptop and their adapter didn't make that sizzling noise, it looks like it was already defect from the begin.
    Then i have one dead pixel in the middle of my screen, no problem for me.
    Finally my screen is a bit loose from the laptop, when i close it, i can move it, it always seems like it's not on it's correct place, because when i close it normally it's not 100% horizontal...
    Also when i replace my screen, my speakers make crackling noises and my webcam stops working.
    So all those problems i have annoy me, especially the last one (webcam and speakers problem), can this fit in the warranty of the laptop? I did extend the warranty for one year...

    I think this is AC adaptor fault maybe a broken cable or something like that I would recommend you to replace this get in contact with the dealer and ask for the new one.

    Maybe you should ask Toshiba notebook technicians for a check maybe some screws or the hinges are loose.
    The speakers should be checked with connected headphones. If you will not notice the same crackling sound using headphones, then the issue might be related to speakers

    Is the 7200 being managed by LMS? Please confirm:
    1. The device is setup to be managed by fault (reference)
    2. The device credentials are correct (using the tool in Device Center)
    3. That you have logging and snmp server destination = LMS server on your router.
    #3 is not necessary but optional. If #1 and #2 are correct, Fault management should pick up the failure.

  • HT204154 My macbook with thunderbolt display without power supply stops working on battery mode, is that normal?

    I use a 27" Thunderbolt display on my macbook pro. If I disconnect the power supply from the mac, the monitor stops working.
    Is that normal or do I have to make some changes on the setup ?

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    I understand that you connect your MacBook Pro to an external Thunderbolt display and everything works as it should while connected to power, but once power is removed from the MacBook Pro, the second display no longer functions. It sounds like you may be using this configuration with your MacBook Pro closed, otherwise known as closed-clamshell mode. In order to use a second display with your Mac portable in closed-clamshell mode, the Mac portable must be connected to power. Please refer to the attached article for more information. If this is not the case, please let me know.

  • Style cover stopped working a week ago - 'unfortunately, style cover has stopped working'

    Hi, I got my xperia z3 about a month ago and style cover justa  few days after. It was working great at first but since last week it has stopped, it no longer minimses the screen when I shut the lid. The phone must regocnise style cover is there however as when my phone is in stand by and I pen the screen, it goes to the lock screen. However, when in a phone call and I close the lid, the smart cover creates a mini window but doesn't do this under any other circumstance. I am not in stamina mode, my antivirus is turned off, I have linked the cover to the phone (as it was working of course). And when I turn style cover off, and back on, the first time I try to use it I get the  'unfortunately, style cover has stopped working' message.

    Do you have a taskiller? nfc on? any other antivirus or battery apps?

    It is possible that this may be software on the device, you could trying to backup the handset(If Possible) and trying a software repair.
    1. Download the PC Companion software from PC Companion and install it on your PC.
    2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
    3. Phone Software Update.
    4. Start.
    5. Repair Phone
    6. Continue
    7. Accept data removal
    8. Next
    9. Wait for prepare
    10. Select Phone
    11. Follow the connection steps 
    If this does not work, then follow through with Uliwoolys suggestion.

    You can take it to Apple and get replaced as long as you pay for the replacement.

  • A 200 - The 3 little buttons by the power button stopped working

    Win XP, SP2, 1Gb memory, nothing else special.
    Those pretty little buttons have stopped firing up software. The only function seems to work is that the one next to the power button turns the machine on!
    Any Ideas?
    The only recent change is I upgraded Microsoft Office 2003 recently.
    The buttons ARE set to fire software up.

    Well, I dont know why it doesnt work but these 3 little buttons are Toshiba Controls.
    Did you try to update the controls driver? You can find it on the Toshiba website under
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com and Support & Downloads.
    Furthermore you can check the settings. Im not sure but I think you can find them in Control Panel .

    Same power problem here... I saw my Iphone battery battery was low so I plugged it to charge it and screen went from normal to fading into white with some sky blue lines from bottom to top so I was ...***..so I unplugged it and left it alone ,,,few min. later screen came back to normal so I tried to charge it again and this time screen went from normal to blank like as if was off and it hasten came back and that was 3 hours ago ...anyone had that prob ???
