My build has been stable for about 3 months now but today I went to play a game but the monitor was turned off. I switched the computer off and back on and it started power cycling. I reset the CMOS and it still power cycled. I also tried 1 RAM stick in every RAM slot but still same thing. Everything is plugged in correctly as I have been using it succesfully for the last 3 months until now. Would it be safe to say that I need to RMA it?

As for the statement which I have highlighted in Bold, that is a very general statement to make. To begin with, the problem of P67 chipsets lies with Intel and Intel has issued an official notice several months ago on the issues. Though revisions like B3 version had been released to solve the glitches found in the P67 chipsets, no one knows how many other problems are still unannounced thus no one dares to speculate. Do note, that the P67 chipset problem affects all manufacturers worldwide as everyone only gets their P67 from one source, which is obviously, Intel.
As far as I'm concerned about stability, the below quoted is what I have done and have been doing all this while before any tweaking starts.

Trust me, 1 week is a good time frame for monitoring. For all my gaming systems that I build for my clients, I always make sure that I have a 1.5 weeks allowance to do monitoring and testings in stock before I hand over the system to them. Thereafter, anything above stock, it is all in their hands to manage.

    Hello, I have recently purchased a P67A-GD65 from newegg along with a 2600k and G.SKILL DDR3-1600 (F3-12800CL6D-4GBXH)
    The problem I am having is that the motherboard will stay on for about 5 seconds then it will reboot, and continue to do so until I turn off the power from the PSU. It will not post so I cannot access the bios or anything.
    I have been in contact with msi tech support and they keep telling me to do what I have already done so many times.
    I already returned my board for a replacement once but the replacement had the same power cycling issues. I am thinking of buying some cheap 1333 CL9 RAM to see if I can manage to get into the UEFI and see if I can tweak something into making my RAM work
    I went on to the G.SKILL forum and found an interesting thread about RAM incompatiblities. Could this be causing the constant reboots?
    (Have cleared CMOS many times, tried different PSU, ETC)
    tl;dr
    Is my RAM causing the P67A-GD65 to continuously reboot without posting?
    Bought some Patriot 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 CL9 RAM from newegg today to see if those will work.

    In the meantime while waiting, try this. With one stick RAM in the primary blue dimm slot, if you get in to the BIOS then, set DRAM Mode to 'Link', timings to 9 9 9 24, tRFC 88, DRAM V. to 1.507 or 1.521. Looking at those timings of the G.Skills in your component list, SPD being set must be rather non standard (just a guess).

    I just assembled my PC with the following components:
    Motherboard: P67A-GD65 (B3)
    CPU:  Intel Core i7 2600k
    CPU Fan: CoolMaster V8 (180W)
    RAM: G.Skil F3-17000CL9D (4GBx2)
    GPUs: Palit GTX 560Ti (x2, no SLI)
    SSD: Crucial C300 (64GB)
    Hard Drive: WD 1002FAEX (1TB)
    Optical Drive: Lite-on BR Burner
    Case: Corsair 650D with stock case fans
    PSU: Corsair TX750W
    OS: Win 7 Professional 64bit
    While it works fine with the normal setting, it won't boot if OC Genie II is turned on.
    Do I need more power or are there any specific settings I need to mess with?

  • P67a-gd65 b3 Not powering up but power LED goes on

    This computer I built has been running for several months with no problems. Last night I left it on and when I got up it today it was off.
    Almost positive its a hardware problem as nothing new has been added or changed. Looking to see if anyone else had the same symptoms to help identify what component may be causing it.
    When I unplug the machine from power, and plug it back in no LEDs light up (as expected from what I remember when building it).
    When I press the power button on the case, or the power button on the motherboard, that power LED lights up but that is the only thing that seems to happen. None of the LEDs on the top by the CPU light up, the fans never spin, and no post.
    First thoughts would be psu, cpu, or motherboard.
    The type of psu (seasonic x series) I have would only spin its fans some of the time depending on load. So the lack of psu fan activity isn't abnormal.

  • P67A-GD65 Sometimes gets into a Reboot Cycle

    Hi All,
    This is a strange one for me, so I thought I'd check the forums for some alternate views. I've recently purchased an almost complete new system (see below), and the system performs fantastic (CPU temp from 23c to 46c). However, sometimes the system will simply refuse to boot. The power light will come on for around 1.5 seconds and then power down again, then around 5 seconds latter it will repeat.
    To resolve this, I have to completely reseat the RAM, which appears to trick the BIOS into thinking the memory configuration has been changed. Then the system will boot and I'm back in business for a few days. I have a suspicion this is related to memory compatibility, but I'm open to ideas. The problem appears (so far) to only occur when I've been running the system with XMP memory profile enabled in the BIOS. But the memory passes all the BIOS checks, and runs my games flawlessly, the problem only ever occurs at power up when the system has been left off for a while. The memory is reasonably high grade RAM, and I've applied all the recent BIOS updates (to 1.A), but this hasn't resolved it.
    Any ideas?

    Here is something to test.
    Note the settings of your RAM in the BIOS when you use the XMP enabled function.
    Then disable XMP and set the memory manually to the same values as it was with XMP. Save and restart. See if it behaves the same.

  • P67A-GD65(B3), new BIOS 4.3 and power phases

    The old BIOS for P67A-GD65(B3) offered APS, Intel SVID and disabled as options for the power phases in the BIOS. The newest BIOS has no such option so I have to wonder whether APS and intel SVID are still around or all power phases options are set to disabled.
    I have 2 of those mainboards. In the first one the BIOS is upgraded to 4.3. The system has a Pentium G860 (Sandybridge) and a Corsair HX750 psu. Control Center reports system to have 1 phase active while idle but the phase system itself is reported as disabled. It is not reported as either Intel SVID or APS. This seems to be wrong though cause when system goes to full load all phases go active again.
    The other mainboard has an i5 2500K and was using BIOS v1.19. I had set the phase system to Intel SVID and indeed the phases changed between idle and full load. In a stupid attempt to benefit from Intel's rapid start technology that is supported on the latest BIOS and despite my better judgment I upgraded the BIOS to v 4.30. I had lots of issues with overclocking the CPU so I downgraded to 1.19 using the forum tool and the custom BIOS file. I may need to do a fresh installation of windows but according to the leds on the mainboard and the Control Center I can't get the mainboard to lower the phases even when idle. I've tried Intel SVID and APS in the BIOS but I had no luck. C1E is enabled along with every other energy saving feature. Currently and most of the time the i5 is running on stock clocks. I did notice that during the original upgrade from 1.19 to 4.30 in the BIOS the Intel ME was also upgraded from v7 to v8. I am not sure if the forum tool that reverted back the BIOS to v1.19 took care of the intel ME.
    So I wanted some clarification to what happens with the power phase system in the new BIOS (4.3) and a bit of help in regards to the other system that for the time being seems incapable of lowering CPU phases. The second system is using a Coolermaster Silent M 1000W psu. Both mainboards are equipped with 16GB of Corsair (XMS1600) memory. Both systems use aftermarket coolers that keep the temperature reasonably low while being very quiet. I could list the rest of the specs but I don't think they will matter much.

    The v4.3 was intended for those that decide to install an Ivy CPU. There must have been a reason why some of the features or settings were modified or eliminated to accomodate Ivy support. It may be best to ask this question directed towards the MSI Technical engineers.

  • Random lock ups with MSI P67A-GD65 (B3). Please help!

    2X Western Digital VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS 150GB in RAID0 running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
    This was supposed to be my dream computer, but it has turned into a nightmare! It locks up constantly.  Usually the mouse pointer will disappear and the computer will just freeze up.  This normally seems to occur after the computer has been idle for a while.  I have read that there might be compatibility issues with the MSI P67A-GD65 and the GTX 570 video cards.  Can anyone confirm this?  Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?  The only thing event viewer is showing is the unexpected shutdown when I have to power cycle it.  Thanks in advance!

    Exactly which SATA ports are you using for the HDD's & RAID? White Marvell or Intel SATA III, or the black SATA II? 
    Unfortunately, my local shop didn't have the Crucial, so I grabbed the Corsair instead.  The Velociraptors are running from SATA 1 and 2 (the top white connectors).  I also have 2X HITACHI Deskstar 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s running in RAID0 from SATA 3 and 4 for storage (this computer is intended for HD video editing, compositing in After Effects, etc.).  Sorry I forgot to mention that in the original post!

  • P67A-GD65 (B3) will not boot with external USB DVD connected.

    Damnedest thing... just put the build together last night and this was the biggest issue. If I connect my external Samsung USB DVD RW the system stops booting and only displays (B3) in the bottom right corner of my display. If I remove the USB plug the system boots and operates normally. If I connect it to the USB port after boot the system recognizes it and it works fine. The same issue occurs no matter which USB2/3 port I plug it into. I've banged around the BIOS and cannot see any issues in the boot sequence that would indicate an issue. Anyone else in das same boot?

    They are working on it. They sent me a BETA BIOS to try out. The BIOS v1.10B3 was dated 3-17-2011 and it nearly bricked my system though.  Here is the response I sent to them the other night after a few hours with a massive headache trying to bring my system back up:

Luckily I have a laptop with all the files on it and I was able to finally re-flash back to the v1.8 BIOS from a USB drive.     I only wish they had informed me of the changes to the CPU voltage up front or included a change log so I could have made an informed decision as to whether or not I wanted to try the BETA BIOS. I was under the impression (mistakenly) that it simply addressed the USB DVD issue. I'll wait for the new release BIOS. I can live without the external USB DVD being plugged in at boot. Bricking my MOBO and having to RMA would be a far less desirable outcome. :p That said.. I'd still recommend this MOBO. It has relatively few issues and MSI support is responsive so far.

  • For Those Experiencing the Infinite Boot Loop on P67A-GD65

    My story in a nutshell - bought the original (non B3) P67A-GD65 from Newegg on the first day it was available along with 8 GB (2X4 GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 ram and Intel i5 2500k processor.  Received the items, hooked them up on a test bench (rubber mb supports so no grounding issues) along with a Corsair VX-550 P/S (both 24 pin and 8 pin leads plugged in), GTX-460 video card (2 PCI-E 6 pin connectors plugged in), the default Intel i5 heatsink and a known good USB KB and mouse.  Promptly experienced the infinite loop boot issue others have described - fans on h/s and video card spin up, 1st APS LED lights for a fraction of a second then all 6 light up for 3 to 4 seconds then APS LEDs go out and fans on h/s and video card spin down.  No beeps from speaker and no video signal to monitor.  After everything has stopped spinning (about 3 to 4 seconds), the power comes back on and the cycle repeats exactly the same way every time until I turn off the power supply.  Here is what I tried:
    1.  Used only 1 stick of ram (tried in all 4 slots)
    2.  Pulled 1 stick of DDR3-1600 ram from my working X58 system (again tried in all 4 slots)
    3.  Different power supply (OCZ 520-ADJ)
    4.  Known good PCI video card instead of GTX-460 (in case there was some problem with power draw)
    Under each of these changes, the same infinite boot loop occurred.  Called tech support, they walked me through each step I had already tried and finally suggested I RMA both the MB and the CPU to Newegg.  Did so and the replacements worked fine from the start.
    Then came the B2 stepping issue.  Notified both Newegg and MSI that I had one of the B2 boards.  Newegg notified me they had the new B3 boards in stock.  Arranged for cross shipment where they would ship me the new board and then I would return the old one.  Received the new one last Friday.  Put it on the same test bench as above and the same infinite boot loop is now happening on the new B3 stepping board.  Just to test, put the cpu, ram and GTX-460 video card back into the B2 stepping board and everything works perfectly.
    Another test, since some people reported the infinite loop problem when they had failed to plug in the 8 Pin power lead to the mb, I unplugged the 8 pin connector on the working B2 stepping board.  The infinite loop problem is entirely different in this case.  When you press the power switch, the fans start to spin and the first LED lights for less than a second.  Then the LED goes off and the fans start to spin down.  After everything has stopped, it repeats until the power supply is turned off.
    This is my first MSI motherboard after 15 years of Abit and Asus with the occasional Gigabyte or EVGA thrown in and I am not happy with the QC I have experienced with this board!
    So to summarize, 2 of the 3 P67A-GD65 boards I received from Newegg have had this infinite boot loop problem.  Apparently, I have to RMA again.  Am I lucky or what???!!!

    Frankly, I can understand your frustrations on the problem but it is not fair to judge a brand by looking at the number of complains in a forum. I can guarantee you, there are more RMAs out there from all other manufacturers even before an user even knows that a Forum ever exist for them to post for enquiry and most of them aren't an IT engineer or hardware engineer by self.
    If you want to compare, I have also been in this industry for more than 15 years and I have many DOA boards from other manufacturers as well and DOAs after RMAs are common to me. When you handle thousands of PCs, laptops and mainframes, such things are really common.
    Back to your problem. Maybe I didn't make it clear on how I want to describe on my previous post for your issue in words. I am referring to having a chance to let the system boot into BIOS or past BIOS after multiple times of rebooting, then you can try to flash the BIOS. This is also not uncommon as I have encountered systems which are problematic but are able to boot into Windows after 15 to 20 times of infinite reboots by itself.
    How about processor? Tested it in another system yet? Or is this another unless suggestion to you?

    I'd like to give a little information to those having problems with this board :o
    My first response to the bored was UH OH not another bad one.. But, luckily after a few tweaks I got it going nice and stable
    My mobo came with the 1.8 bios when it was sent to me. I messed up and didn't even bother reading the installation guide.
    I had a brand new system except for my hard drive. Powercolor 6950 2gb *flashed to 6970*, P67A-GD65 (b3), Corsair 750w, Asus blu-ray/dvd, ThermalTake Frio, G.Skill p67 ram 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 1.5v. I messed up my first boot by having the 2 dimms in the black slots because my heat sink fan was in the the way. (NOTE: Only use 1 dimm in the BLUE slot on first initial boot). I kept getting a black screen after the bios screen with a white underscore blinking! WOULD NOT POST! I would recommend completely cleaning your HD out completely before initial boot! I also didn't load optimized settings on initial boot... After some time of reading online instructions I got my PC running, but not stable. I would shut down my computer and have a constant power cycle(kept turning itself on), or get a BSOD with voltage code errors. JPWR2 was installed with the correct power pin connector; all LED lights lit up...(DIDN"T MAKE ANY SENSE!). So I cleared the CMOS with the handy button and then loaded optimized defaults. I then updated the bios using the USB flash tool to 1.91b. On initial boot  I loaded optimized settings with just 1 Dimm in the blue slot(HAD TO TAKE OFF MY FAN TEMPORARILY), formatted my HD, and followed with a clean install of Windows 7 64bit. Everything seemed fine! I now have my system overclocked to 4.5GHZ only changing the multiplier to x45. After windows loaded I installed my 2nd memory stick now both allocated in the blue dimm slots and manually set the timings to 1600mhz 1-8-8-8-24. I have to say I'm suprised so many people are having problems. Another thing I did my HD is a 3GBS blue cavier WD 640gb 7200rpm 32mb cache... At first boot even after the update I was getting that my HDD was not being detected before the bios screen popped up but I was still able to boot windows... It was installed in the 3gbs sata slot 3 with 3gbs sata chord.. All I did was change it to the white 6gbs slot using the white 6gbs sata chord and it finally detected it before initial bios loading. Everything is stable.. I ran prime95 extreme memory and cpu for 15 hours and the hottest it got was 61c. I hope this helps some of you guys... Forgive my poor english I'm asian and have only learned english for 3 years.
    ALSO! almost forgot.. When changing your DRAM voltage *(most memory says 1.5v)* You need to set it high enough so that it gets the stated voltage seen in your bios.. for instance I use 1.565 and my voltage displayed on my mobo is 1.505

  • P67A-gd65 boot problem after BIOS update

    I'm not optimistic about this, but...
    My P67A-GD65 was delivered with BIOS 1.5. (However, the stickers on both chips read 1.4.) I updated the BIOS to 1.7 using a DOS formatted USB flash drive. (The EM was updated as well.) Things seemed to be running OK.
    I foolishly experimented with the 1.8A beta BIOS. I flashed from DOS again. After rebooting, I went into the settings to reconfigure the machine as it had been. The EFI screen hung, so I powered the machine down (from the button, not the PSU).
    I've been unable to boot since. No display appears on the monitor. If it is powered down, the power comes back on for an instant, goes off again, and comes up again with nothing on the display. The USB keyboard and mouse never become active, as far as I can tell. I tried a PS/2 keyboard; no difference.
    If this board has dual BIOS indicator LEDs, neither illuminates, which indicates that all is serene.
    I have cleared the CMOS several times, using the jumper or the button at the rear I/O panel.
    Any advice? Is there any way to force the use of the second BIOS? (I've read the MSI dual BIOS FAQ posted elsewhere, but didn't spot anything of use.)
    RMA time?

    The blue screens started after a clean Bios flash to the 18b10 bios then eventually it stopped working complety (just doing the start up cycle over and over)
     I had tried reseting cmos and it doesnt make a difference, the motherboard will not post , boot , start up at all so default settings cant be set (although reseting cmos would set to default anyway)
     Each time the board goes through the start up cycle (i.e. upon pressing start button the board will start up with fans spinning for a second then shut down, start up again with fans spinning for a second then shut down, continuasly repeating until main power is removed) I have used a multimeter to measure the voltage read points on the board and they show that there is no vcore being suplied to the cpu but all other points show the voltage is being supplied to those componants, so imo that is where the problem lies and I would sugest that the other ppl who are having this issue to also try  measuring the voltage read points and see if the same thing is happening on thier boards .
     If others are getting the same results (no vcore) then the msi techs should be informed of this issue..(imo)
    1.8b10 still is a beta bios. I got random bluescreens with that one also at some point a blinking bios led. So I flashed back from secondary bios (using the first option (change disable in enable)in "security" in the EFI shell to allow flashing from secondary bios), blinking bios led now stopped, Then I flashed with 1.7, no issues sofar cpu now running stable at 4.5Ghz (already 2 days).

    I just build a p67a GD65 System i am an experienced system builder testing out on a cardboard surface after the system would not boot.
    Using corsair Vengence ddr 3 ram
    Coolmaster silent pro 800 W power supply
    Hyper 212 plus cooler
    2600k processor
    After the continuous loop i tested power supplies swapped them and got the same problem
    Then i got a clean cardboard box and started troubleshooting now the system, even barebone with the essential hardware only won't boot at all I do however see the green power light go on and OC genie light, light up when i press the power button but the system won't budge, I'm wondering if this is a bad processor or motherboard? I am leaning towards a bad mobo as these problems with this particular MSI board have been rampant.
    Just to add none of the bios LED's light up.

    I have a question crxer, does the OC Genie Light come on and stay on, or does it turn off? If it stays on then you have the OC Genie Button pushed in and you're trying to overclock the system right off the bat which you don't want to do, and that could be why the constant power cycling because of an OC failure.
    Not that this is similar to your problem, but I had a Z68A-GD65(B3) which gave me nothing but problems with overclocking and the the dual bios feature. I would get the power on recycling a few times every time I tried any OC and reboot whether by using the OC Genie button or manual OC, but it would then eventually boot. Mine would also give me the Bios LED coming on in all the different configurations telling me the primary bios failed or secondary or both but I was always able to re-flash the primary bios and the board was never bricked. You're not having that problem thank goodness.
    I am a very experienced builder and troubleshooter and tried everything to isolate the problem and make that Z68A board work, but to no avail, which is why I returned it to Newegg and replaced it with a MSI P67A-GD55(B3) shown in my signature, which is similar to your GD65 and it works perfectly with all the same components as I used on the Z68A-GD65(B3), and I have it manually OC'd it to 4.3 Ghz which is good enough for now.   • Blank Screen and flashing cursor on new build-P67A GD65 (B3). Help needed.

    As per the title, a computer was built for me with the following specs:
    CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k
    Cpu Cooler: Arctic Freezer xtreme Rev 2.0,
    Motherboard: MSI P67A – GD65 (B3)
    PSU: Super-Flower Amazon 550W
    RAM: 4GB G.Skill RipJaws-X, DDR3, 1600
    HDD: 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 7200rpm
    Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme - 1 GB GDDR5
    Disc Drive: Samsung SH-223C DVD+RW
    Case: Cooler Master 690 II LITE Midi-Tower
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
    Everything went ok with the build and installation of the OS. Computer was booting ok. When I took the computer home that evening, powered it on and a blank screen with a flashing cursor on top left hand corner appeared. Tried several times but failed to boot up properly. Just to note that I can enter into the BIOS and it recognizes HDD, processor, Disk Drive and RAM. What I have done so far (of course with advice from computer experts as compared to me) are the following:
    1. I removed all the parts except cpu and cooler then put them back. When I restarted a message appeared that win7 need to do a repair. It went thro the process and then it stated it can’t do repair. Did this twice. When I restarted the third time, a blank screen with the blinking cursor appeared again.
    2. Cleared the BIOS using the button on the outside of the motherboard and also once using the jumpers inside the motherboard. After doing this, I pressed on the “”ON” button several times (with no power on to the computer) to dissipate any current that was left there.
    3. Interchanged the RAM on different slots. Also tried using only 1 stick of Ram at a time.
    4. Checked the HDD on another machine and it was ok. Formatted the HDD on the other machine, plugged onto new machine and tried to install OS again but no joy.
    At this point, I’m now stuck after almost a month when the machine was built. Would it be the motherboard? RAM? etc. Just wondering if I should RMA the motherboard since it is just over a month when it was delivered.
    A point to note, there is a message that comes up when it is booting stating no HDD is detected. I googled this but found out it was to do with a marvel adapter that needs to be disabled or something like that. However, it was mentioned that this wasn’t going to affect the performance of the pc as the BIOS can detect all the components.
    I also noticed that when I switch on the pc, there is a small pause before it kicks on then there is a long beep followed by 2 small beeps. I presume this is normal.
    Any help on this will be highly appreciated?

    Disable EuP 2013 & that should take care of the pause. The beeps are normal at startup. Only time I have observed a blank screen & blinking cursor is if the system wasn't getting enough juice to initialize, or their was insufficient power in an OC attempt. What kind of +12V amps does that PSU you have provide?

  • P67a-GD65 System Freezes and Recovers During 3D gaming and Online Video

    The Problem:
    Temporary system freeze with audio stutter. The system recovers 30sec - 2min later.
    Key presses made during freeze will execute after system recovers (ctrl+alt+delete for example)
    Usually, but not always, I see an error message in the system tray and I do NOT experience bsod.
    This happens seemingly at random from 3D accelerated applications, and web browsing. Games such as BF3 (moderate), WoW (seldom), Planetside 2 (frequently), Minecraft (seldom), Hawken (seldom), etc.
    Also happens frequently in both Internet Explorer 9/10, Firefox, Chrome, and Steam store browser. Typically when watching steaming video (youtube, HULU, flow player, etc)
    but Pandora audio streaming also seems to create the conditions where this happens.

    Updated Intel Rapid Storage drivers (no improvment)
    Cleared CMOS and tested system at default settings with no overlock (no improvement)
    Flashed 6950 back to 6950 stock bios and removed overclock (no improvement)
    Replaced old 6950 with new GTX 670 (problem still occurs in the same exact way)
    Tried GPU in 2nd PCIe slot. No improvement.
    Checked GPU Temps. GTX 670 fan profile in EVGA Precision X set to keep temp below 70 degrees Celcius. Card maxes at 60 degrees under heavy gaming load.
    Complete reformat of raid array with fresh install of Windows (4 different times) Seemed to help for a few days, then freezes came back
    Ran OCCT and Prime 95 Torture tests separately for a few hours at stock and OC settings. System stable with core temps of high 50's overclocked, and low 40's stock.
    Ran Memtest86 for 10 hours with zero errors.
    Used digital multimeter to test 12v rail on PSU. Noted solid 12v reported. Didn't test other rails.
    Unplugged PSU cables from motherboard and reattached firmly
    Ran HD Tune and Data Life Guard Tools for error checking on hard disks. Zero errors found.
    Disabled Windows Aero (no improvement)
    Updated Adobe Flash Player to latest setting (no improvement)
    Removed Adobe Flash Player (no improvement)
    Turned off Adobe Flash hardware acceleration (no improvement)
    *EDIT: Forgot that I also adjusted Nvidia driver profiles for apps that have frozen to include power preference to max performance
    All of my hardware with the exception of the new 670 was purchased and configured back in February of 2011. This problem first occured in BF3 multiplayer sometime in early 2012,
    and has gradually been happening more frequently. Web searches found many individuals with this error, but the solutions are all over the map, and I've tried just about everything that I've found.
    I think I've narrowed the problem down to the motherboard, but I just can't find a clear answer or solution. Maybe it's the raid array? I really thought replacing the GPU would solve my trouble here
    and I was...NOT happy when it happened again with the new 670 that I scored for $250 after amazon gift cards. I typically get kicked/disconnected during online game play when this happens and I'm ready to be done with it. I was hoping to fix the issue without needing to buy new hardware, but I don't see any other way at this point.
    My patience runs thin. Please help!

    I do not have another 1155 lga board to test the cpu in unfortunately, hence the CPU stress testing.  Based upon previous experiences with multiple overclocked systems that I've run at much more aggressive overclocks, I don't believe I'm seeing a processor failure, though I can't rule out the possibility.

    No I don't have another PSU to test. I did use a digital multimeter to test the 12v rail, as well as the motherboard contacts for testing voltage to the cpu and system  They were all right in line with what I'm seeing reported in the bios.  I did not test these contacts while the system was under load however, so I may need to do it again.

    So I tried Overclocking yesterday after watching a guide on YouTube.. It seemed pretty easy on a sandy bridge so I thought I'd give it a try. I went into bios changed the CPU voltage to 1.35, changed the CPU multiplier to 45, and enabled XMP profile, I then saved settings and rebooted. Windows booted up fine, turned on prime 95 and opened up real temp and ran prime 95 to make sure CPU temps stayed below 70C. One core managed to reach 70 but other than that everything was gone so Im assuming everything was stable and good. I reboot my pc and you know how when you install new ram or CPU, while rebooting for the first time it says new CPU installed etc? Well that popped up and I got curious so I went into bios and everything went back to default again. So I set up it up All over again, saved and rebooted and now I'm getting a blue screen. So I reboot go into bios and notice my sata isn't set to AHCI. So I set it and reboot. Widows loads again... I then reboot again and I get a blue screen.. Also noticing my motherboard light is flashing. I check the manual and it told me that one of my bios profiles failed. I looked up how to fix it online and managed to fix it. The light disappeared, went into bios tried to oc it again... Saved.. Rebooted light started flashing.. Windows booted up fine. I then restarted... And the comp restarted on its own a few times during post. I fix the light flashing set everything to default and now I'm clueless as to why this is happening to me. Do any of you have any ideas why??!

    I just stopped the Prime95 and the final 4 highest temps were 66  73 74 71. That's too high huh?
