Power Injector for WAP200

Hello
I need your advice on whether power Injector for Aironet AP’s can be also used for SB WLAN products.
Is AIR-PWRINJ4= compatible with WAP200??
Any advice would be very appreciated.

Hi, My name is Eric Moyers. I am a Network Support Engineer in the Cisco Small Business Support Center.
Currently there are no Cisco/Linksys POE approved injectors for this device or any of our other small business products. Our recommendation for powering these units are to use either the supplied power adapter or a POE Switch that is 802.3af compliant. Any of our switches with a P in the model number would be perfect. While it is possible for that Cisco Enterprise Injector to mentioned above should work, It has just not been tested so we can not completely recommend it.

I know your original post was in January and you may have created that 100m power cord but I hope this helps others.

Power Injector for Airport Extreme (Generation 5)

Sorry, but Power over Ethernet is not supported on the AirPort Extreme.

Power injector for 1300 bridge

It is possible to use a AIR-PWRINJ-BLR1 power injector with a 1300 series bridge? I know the BLR2 injector is the proper one but need to know if they are at all compatible.

AIR-PWRINJ-BLR1 = ONLY for 1410 Bridges.. and should not be used with 1310 Bridges..

Power injector compatibility - air-pwrinj4

Does anyone know if the air-pwrinj4 (power injector for the 1250 and 1140 series) will power a 1240 and/or 1210 series AP?

Power injectors don't work with APs

Has someone got experience on cisco power injectors for Aironet APs.
I bought 3 injectors, and 3 power supplys(injectors need power supply, but don't come with the boxes) from cisco.
I connected a switch(2960) port to the port ‘to network’ on the power injector, and connected a AP(1142N) Ethernet port to the port ‘to Device’ on the power injector.
The power injector was powered on by the DC supply. But the AP couldn't be powered on by the injector, and the switch port also showed 'noconnect'.
No particular commands setup on the switch port’s settings. I tried the switch port auto-auto and 100-full, Vlan access and trunk, but no luck with the injectors.
Connected the same power supply to the same AP, used the same switch port and same cables, the AP worked fine with the switch.
Thought of faulty injector, but it's weird that all 3 new purchased injectors are faulty.
Am I doing anything wrong? do I need to put any commad on switch interface to use power injector?(I cannot believe that) or just had bad luck of having 3 faulty injectors?

Report for Power Injector State

I need a report for all Power Inyector installed with a AP, how i have this information in a report?

The is no way to detect if your using a power injector or not. There are commands to enable if your using a power injector, but that doesn't mean its not connected to a PoE switch.
That would be a manual process of going to each ap and looking.

Power Consumption of Power Injector

Hi,
Hope you can assist me. My customer requested me to calculate the power consumption required for the installation of one unit of AP 1510 using the following power injector, part no: Power Injector (AIR-PWRINJ1500). He would like to know the cost required so that the building management can include the necessary cost of the implementation of the device.
From my initial research, I notice the following input power requirement
Power Injector
Input: 100-240V ~ 1.5A (300Watt)
Output: 48V ~ 1.2A (58Watt)
Power consumption: 240*1.5 = 360 W = 0.36KW
Assuming cost per unit is 0.39 cent
Amount required per hour = 0.36*0.39 = 0.14 cent
Amount required per day = 0.14*24 = 3.36 dollar
Is my calculation correct?

LWAP PoE settings when using power injector

We have 3500 series access points connected to a 5508 WLC. What power over ethernet option should I select for an AP thats using a power injector? Prestandard State or Power Injector State?

Just leave it alone. This setting is for old APs like the 1130 and 1240 and older.

Incorrect power injector

I have purchased several AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9 but had no POE switches so I needed power injectors; we ended up purchasing AIR-PWRINJ-FIB without noticing that they were also media converters.
Is there any converter I can use to convert back to copper? I wanted to confirm this before getting to the inevitable conclusion that we need to exchange them for the AIR-PWRINJ3

Aironet 1310, power injector and poe cable

Hello,
Can the power injector delivered with aironet 1310 be supplied by a PoE RJ45 cable rather than the traditionnel DC adapter?
The problem is, i thought Aironet 1310 was PoE. Which means it can be power supplied by a rj45 cable.
But, when i openned my brand new 1310 box, i realized that 1st, it needs that Power Injector to work and that 2nd, Power injector needs a power supply...
Usually when i buy a PoE access point, I just plug in my PoE rj45 cable and its power supplied :)
Anyway, i hope there's an issue for this because where the 1310 should be placed, there's only a PoE rj45 cable arriving.

Sadly the 1310 cannot be powered by PoE ,but, the Power Injector can be up to 100 meters away from the unit.

WAP4410N - Will the PWRINJ4 power injector be compatible

Good day,
We have purchased a few WAP4410N access points at some of our small remote offices. The switches in the offices is not PoE capable, therefore we require power injectors. I have a PWRINJ3 injector in my posession, so have tested it with the AP's, but it does not seem to be compatible.
Before I purchase power injectors, I would like to know whether the PWRINJ4 will be compatible, if not, which power injector does Cisco recommend for the WAP4410N.

We get this question a lot with our wireless AP's. Currently there is not an Injector that we recommend with our wireless AP's. Your best bet is to purchase a small unmanaged PoE switch for all of your AP's. I would suggest something like a SG-200-08P.

Cisco currently has an injector in works for our small business devices, but the timeframe for availability is unknown at this time.
There are some 3rd party infectoers on the market(including Cisco Enterprise injectors that could possibly work, however since we do not support them and they have not been certified for use with our small business devices we can not recommend or support them. (even though some customers have been lucky enough to get them to work)
