Hi, mananah_Lumia. To verify, you received the Nokia Power Keyboard without a battery, is that correct? If so, where did you purchase it and did you inform them about it? If we got you wrong, feel free to correct us. We look forward to your reply. Good day!

I updated BIOS to v1.15 - still no solution. I have, however, found out why I can't see if the battery is charged or not. Appearantly, Acer is not using the standard ACPI spec. Just look at this:

So I properly need to make a correct DSDT table to solve my problem. However, I can't make heads or tails in the ACPI spec document, and most infomation about such a issue is highly outdated.

  • Lumia 2520 Power Keyboard Battery Level

Apologies to those of you who are still waiting/looking for one of these. Got my free one this week. For those that do have one, I guess you have noticed that the Battery icon in the system tray on the desktop lets you see both the tablet and the keyboard power status, Charged, percentage, not charging, etc.
My tablet gets to 100% just fine. The keyboard has never seen above 87%, and at that point actually says 'not charging'. I can drain it some, and plug it back in and it will show the keyboard charging, but it hasn't got above 85-87% and then says it has quit. What do you guys see? Normal? Problem?

My Lumia 2520 with Nokia Power Keyboard shows Battery #1: Fully charged (100%) and Battery #2: 0% available (plugged in, charging). However, even after more than 8 hours plugged in and showing "charging", Battery #2 never shows more than 0%.
The tablet was a used gift, but the keyboard is new, ordered online from Verizon. It has done this from the first time using the tablet with the new keyboard. As far as I know, the tablet never had a keyboard attached until now. All keyboard functions appear to work properly and all tablet functions appear to work properly. I used the tablet with the keyboard for several hours unplugged and the Battery #1 disharged to about 80%. When I plugged it in, Battery #1 charged up to 100% and then it showed Battery #2 plugged in and charging, but never changed from 0% available on Battery #2.
I have tried the Power button and +Volume button technique with no change. It does go throught the stages of showing 0%, not charging on both batteries and then after resetting it goes back to showing the same issue of never showing an increase in Battery #2charge % beyond 0%.
Nokia telephone tech support had me go through that same exercise with no fix. I also refreshed Windows to see if a driver was corrupt with no joy.
None of the nearby Verizon, AT&T or Microsoft stores have the Nokia Porwe Keyboard in stock so I ordered another keyboard from Verizon and if it works then will get a refund on this one that isn't working.
If anyone has any other ideas on how to get the keyboard battery to show that it is charged beyond 0% then please let me know so I won't be returning a good keyboard thinking it is defective.

  • Tecra A9, Power connected - battery is not charged

I use a Tecra A9. It is about 3 years old now. But I seem to have a problem with battery recharging.
Connected to external power it is functioning oke. But the battery is not been recharged anymore. When removing the powercord, the laptop is running on battery power.
I removed the battery from the laptop and reinserted it. Then it is recharging for several seconds and than stops charging again. Remaining charge is at this moment at about 90%.
I also removed it and cleaned the contacts in the laptp and on the battery. But the same happened. Some seconds recharging, than it stops charging.
    What could be the problem?
Thanks in advance for your reaction(s).
    Kind regards,
    Ren

    >Connected to external power it is functioning oke. But the battery is not been recharged anymore. When removing the powercord, the laptop is running on battery power.
I think the problem is the battery.
Its old and cannot hold the charge anymore. So you have to replace this battery.
Check the part number of this batter.. it should be placed at the back side of the battery.
Then you can google for this part in the net to get the right battery.

  • Wireless Keyboard Battery Level Not Changing?

    Hi,
I have got a new iMAC machine 21.5" , almost 6 weeks since. I am a regular user. The machine has Mountain Lion OS 10.8.2.
In System Preferences, I can see the Battery level for Blue tooth mouse dropping to 57%, but the keyboard has been showing 100% all the time.
Looks like this is a bug. How do i check the Keyboard Batter Level.
    Regards,
    Vinay

I bought an 21.5" iMac eight months ago and I did note that the battery level wasn't changing for my Wireless Keyboard as my Magic Trackpad slowly used its batteries up. That being said I changed the batteries in the Keyboard when the Magic Trackpad died assuming the Keyboard was soon to follow and now the battery level is reported accurately. In conclusion I believe that the Energizer Advance batteries that are shipped with the Wireless Keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad had a lot more to do with the problem then the OS. I don't know why only the Keyboard was affected but I do know that now I am using regular Energizer batteries and all is normal as far as usage levels. Hope that helps.

  • No Mains Power or Battery Chargeup, Not a Battery or Power Adaptor Fault

I have an iBook G4 12" purchased March 2006. It's been heavily used but the only problem I've had with it was last year it developed a tendency to shut down without warning. This was solved by taking the battery out and hasn't been a problem since I replaced the power lead. So otherwise no problems with the computer.
I mostly use it on the mains but a couple of times a week have it for 30 mins on battery. A few weeks ago it started to struggle charging up afterwards. A change of "routine", eg. plugging it into a different socket or adding the extension to the power adaptor, would trick it into working again. But the problem got more frequent until, a couple of weeks later, it was charging up then suddenly switched into battery mode and has been stuck there ever since.
I have changed the battery and power adaptor and this has made no difference.
A couple of odd things to note: using the old battery (5 mins a day for emergencies) it had got down to 35% then the Software Update launched and the battery suddenly dropped to 0% and went to sleep. This is when I had to buy the new battery. Also, when I pull the plug out of the mains with the barrel connector still in the computer, instead of the LED going out instantly it stays on for 10 seconds then fades out.
I've had a couple of tricks suggested that have failed: powering up through the mains with no battery in, also pressing ShiftControlOption for 5 seconds before powering up.
Please does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong? Thanks.

The charge and run issues may be related to a failing DC in-board.
You may be able to get the correct part and replace it yourself, or
have a repair tech do the task for parts-plus-labor charges.
There are some DIY pages online, such as those from iFixit:

  • Battery #1: Not present

Two days ago the tablet was just running fine without being connected to the keyboard.
Right now as soon as I`ve plugged it out it stops running - no battery.
I can't even turn on helix without keyboard.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I just opened the tablet by myself, and I found that the connector of the main battery is lose.
So I just pressed the connector lightly, and it works well now!!!
here is the instructions of how to open the tablet, just so easy

  • Keyboard Backlight ALS Not Present

My back light has always been working in the past but never noticed it not working until today because I haven't been using it at night anymore. It's no longer working! pressing the F8,F9, & F10 doesn't even bring up the adjustment on the display.. also, going into the keyboard preference.. I no longer see the option to enable/disable the illuminate keyboard. What is going on here? is this a 10.4.2 update bug or something? Anyone have the same issue?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
First, rule out a software problem by creating a new user account with administrative privileges and look to see if the checkbox appears in System Preferences while you are logged in to that account. If it does, then delete the file com.apple.bezelservices.plist from yourusername/Library/Preferences in your original administrative account, then log out and back in again or restart.
If the checkbox doesn't appear in the new user account, move the file com.apple.bezelservices.plist in your Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences folder to the Desktop and log out and back in again or restart and check to see if the checkbox appears in System Preferences in your main Admin account.
If none of these things correct the problem, then it is likely that you have a hardware issue. If it is a hardware issue, it may be something relatively minor, like a loose connection between the ALS and the logic board, which is easy to fix, or it may require a logic board replacement.
Let us know how the troubleshooting goes. Good luck.

  • Split x2 battery not present

    Hi,
If i have my computer docked in the keyboard, it will not work unless i have the power cord plugged in.  It will keep chiming and the wifi light will blink.  Also then when i do plug it in and click the power icon it shows battery # 2 not present.  Or sometimes it will just show battery #1 and not even show that there is a battery # 2. I've attempted to run the battery check however it only comes back as battery 1 is good and doesn't give me anything for battery # 2.  Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Battery 1 plugged in, charging. Battery 2 is not present

    Hello,
I have an HP Elitebook 8440p, like three months ago it started to shut down everytime I unplugged the AC power, and to not cherging the battery at all, then appered a message "battery 2 is not present". I recently changed the battery, it is bigger since I thought it would be better, but now it is out of charge and I am on the same problem, plugged to the AC power but it is stocked on 1% of charge, it says Battery 1 is plugged in, charging; baterry 2 not present; but do not charge the battery at all, if I unplugged the power my notebook shuts down.
I tried following some steps I found posted on some other users, but nothing works out.
    Please help me.
    Thank you.

I have read your post on how your notebook computer is producing an error message: "Battery 2 not present," and I would be happy to guide you towards a resolution!
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums, since this is a commercial product. You can do this at:

I am having MacBook Pro 3 yrs old and today while I was watching some movie on it suddenly it got power off and when I am trying to start it, it's power button is not working even the round button on external left side is not showing battery lights. Sounds like you need a #1SMC Reset
    1. SMC reset
    >>Instructions to reset SMC
Disconnect other non-Apple and external hardware except (if applicable) a mouse and keyboard until your finished repairing your machine.
Problems solved: Fans blowing with no activity, machine is not booting, power button pressed and nothing happens, problems with indicators, Magsafe has wrong lights, battery is not charging, monitor and graphics issues etc.  If the battery is not charged (from like letting it sleep too long), let the Mac charge up awhile afterwards.
Will not hurt the machine resetting if it's not broken.
    Other related hardware problems (optional):
Check battery status: Hold option/alt key down while clicking on the battery icon in the menu bar, top right corner.
Magsafe: Use the correct/matching power supply charger with your Mac, not a less powered one from another Mac.

  • T60 will not power up (battery status led green, power status led green)

Ok so I have been researching this for a couple days now. Trying various things............
Including the famous 10 second power button press discharge.........
    Symptoms:
1st Disclaimer - coffee was exploded all over the laptop but has been running for a month.
    Symptoms:
It has been working post coffee spill (several weeks ago) as long as you left it running. I get cocky and turn it off then it wont come back on.
The laptop has exhibited the inability to power on since but I have been able to get it  to turn on several times since.
green power light comes on with AC adapter only
plug battery in and the battery light goes green
press the power button - both lights go out
I replaced the keyboard, battery, tested for 20 Volts on the AC adapter, tested for 2-3 volts on the CMOS battery.
I tried testing for 20 volts on the motherboard where the power supply cable connects. I have most of the laptop broke down still.
I did get it running again last night as a result of me incorrectly using the multimeter and short circuiting the power supply connector .
It booted up and ran fine and I even tried turning it off and on again several times.
I thought it might be a heat issue. I turned it off and tried to turn it on this morning and it will not power up.
    Same symptoms as before.
no battery, only power connected, green light comes on, plug in the battery, battery light goes green, try to turn it on and the lights go out.
It seems like it is fixable but I am not sure what to look for next.
Or should I be looking for another system board...........if so what should I replace it with
This is an IBM T60 Type 2613 15" screen.

    Welcome to the forum!
Your best bet would indeed be a new system board. Any single one from a non-widescreen T60/p will work.
I've got dozens of them available - send me a PM if you're interested.
    Good luck.
    Cheers,
