Power Manager does not save my custom settings

I'm running Win7 Pro 64bit SP1 (Swedish) and Power Manager v6.36 on my W530.
When I create a new power profile, I go through all the 5 steps, but afterward no new profile exist. I only see the default 5 ones from Lenovo PM.
Same thing if I change the setting in any of the 5 profiles, the changes aren't saved.
This is reproduceable every time.
The only changes that DO get saved are the settings on the Global tab like if I choose to do nothing when the lid is closed.
Is there any way to get the Power Manager to work as it should?
PS: I really miss the possibility to swiftly change power profile via a left click on the green power gauge next to the systray. Nowdays a single click load and start up the entire Power Manager application. This is SO tiresome when I just want to do a quick change of the profile.
PPS: I had the same problem in v6.32 and just installed 6.36, but still the problem persists.

It sounds to me that the two power managers are conflicting with each other. Try to make your custom power settings inside of the Lenovo Power Manager.
You can do this by opening the Lenovo Power manager and selecting the power plan tab, directly under the tab is a button that says New. When you select this a new window should open to allow you customize your own power schemes. You will be able to customize the System settings such as: Maximum CPU speed, Display Brightness, Graphics Power plan, also desired Idle timers, events, alarms an other advanced settings. Once created you will see your new power plan listed under the default power plans.
If this does not work, I would then suggest uninstalling the Lenovo Power Manager and utilize Microsoft Power Manager.
Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions

    Hi all.
When I login after system start, xfce4-power-manager does not start and systemtray icon doesn't appear. But after relogin (not restart), the systemtray icon of xfce4-power-manager appears and power manager itself works correctly (if I don't relogin, notebook will shutdown after 10 minutes of downtime - that rule doesn't exist in xfce4-power-manager settings).

  • Peak Power Scheduler does not save

    I have a T420 and Power Manager 6.55 installed.
Because my notebook is almost always working on the dockstation, it keeps charging all the time.
    Not good.
So I decided to use the Peak Power Scheduler to use the battery at least once per day. But everytime I try to schedule a Peak Power Scheduler (no matter the configured schedule settings), after I close the Power Manager window and open again the schedule disappears.
This does not occur with other schedule options (like screen time, power management options, etc.).
    Any idea?

  • Power Manager does not recognize battery

Recently installed updated Lenovo Thinkvantage Toolbox on my 3000 N100 0768 DLU laptop, including Power Manager.  I'm getting message that a battery is not installed, though there clearly is one.  Suggestions?????

Thanks for taking a look at Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox (LTT). Please note that LTT is supported on "All ThinkPad, ThinkCentre and ThinkStation systems released after January 2004." Its predecessor, Lenovo System Toolbox is supported on all the above plus Lenovo 3000 systems released after January 2004.
Along the same lines, Power Manager is targeted for specific ThinkPad systems. I took a quick look at the downloads page for the 3000 n100 but did not see either application on the list.
    I hope that helps.

  • Power Manager does not allow switching

I'm slightly confused about the usage of the Power Manager. I know I'm supposed to be able to switch between my 3650 and the integrated graphics card on the fly, but I'm not being offered that option from the program.
I installed a slightly older version of Power Manager (2.20?) since the most recent one from the Driver Matrix would crash all the time after OS boot (Rundll32 crash).
    How would I achieve that?
    Thanks.

They switched the way to access switchable graphics between releases of the power manager. In some releases it's left clicking on the battery icon to find it, in some releases it's right clicking.

  • 5800 does not save WLAN 'Advanced Settings', a bug...

    Hi
My E90 and 5800 both were working just fine day before but now they only connect to my router and give an error "No gateway reply". I read some discussions and fixed my E90 by specifying 'advanced settings' of my WLAN in 'access points' but when I try to do the same with my 5800 and exit the 'destinations' tab, the settings revert back to 'automatic' due to which I cannot use my internet. I have updated to v.20 and still the bug exists. what should I do?
    Thanks in advance.

thanx for your support. I managed to fix it in a roundabout fashion.
    1. Entered settings in 'advanced settings' of WLAN and got back to list of access points (didnt exit 'Destinations')
    2. Opened 'Web' from Main Menu
    3. Connected through the same WLAN and opened a webpage (which worked)
    4. Minimized 'Web' and exited 'Destinations'
as the WLAN was connected and settings were already in use, exiting 'Destinations' could not revert them back and were saved as it is.

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.
If you created a new account then you can log out of the old account and in with the new one as above, but any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can re-download its content and download updates to its apps.

  • Firefox 3.6.3 does not save any history, does not save passwords. I have read the forum and checked my settings (ok), started in Safe mode (still does not work).

Firefox 3.6.3 does not save history, nor passwords. I have read the forum and checked my settings in Privacy (all ok), I restarted Firefox in Safe mode (it still does not remember history or passwords). Running on XP. I think these problems started when I upgraded to 3.6.3.

I had the same problem after an upgrade to 3.6.3.
I was using password manager for a number of web sites before. Not using cookies but password manager.
After 3.6.3 auto upgrade it did not work.
I could not enter private browsing mode.
When I looked in tools>options>security at my saved passwords the list was blank. The button in the saved passwords dialog that normally says "Show saved passwords" was actually blank (the button was there but there was no text on it).
I did have my old bookmarks and was able to create new ones but oddly the bookmark all tabs menu function wouldn't work.
I decided to reinstall firefox 3.6.3. There is no way something with that many bugs got out!
I was able to get the full firefox executable from http://mozilla.com
I closed all firefox windows and ran the installation.
After re-running the install and starting firefox everything was fine. It must have been a bad download or the original install got messed up somehow.
I hope you have the same good fortune I had!

  • Why is my Apple ID not working in iTunes and App Store on my iPhone? Nothing happens if I click buy for apps or music. If I then go to settings/iTunes App Store my Apple ID is not there. If I then enter ID and password it does not save or link to account?

Why is my Apple ID not working in iTunes or App Store on my iPhone? When I try to buy apps or music it asks for Apple ID so I enter my info and nothing happens. When I go to settings/iTunes App Store my Apple ID is not there. When I enter my ID and password it does not save or link to account. I do not have this problem with iPad ID is stored and can be used in App Store and iTunes. I have just upgraded to 5c and it's still a problem.

When fist setting up your new iphone you will be asked to log in with an apple id and password. If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. This apple id login must have already been created for the iphone to accept it. If this apple id is already created but is not being accepted by your iphone you then should shut down your iphone and restart the device.
    Good luck.

  • Firefox does not save my settings when I reboot

I have Windows 7 Ultimate. I was having problems with Firefox 3.6.16 crashing to the point where it wouldn't work. I uninstalled it and downloaded version 4 but had problems with it hanging all the time. I went through the help section, one of the things I did that was recommended was to delete my sessionstore files and any extra copies. I think there were three of them. I deleted them all but Firefox 4 still was hanging.
I uninstalled 4 and reinstalled 3.6.16 again. Everything seems to be working okay except when I reboot or restart my computer it does not save all of my password logins or any special settings on websites I visit all the time. So every time I start my computer I have to log into all my sites again, and I have a lot of them so this is really a pain. I'm not sure if this has to do with deleting the sessionstore files or not. I checked and I do have one sessionstore file instead of three.
Not sure what else to try. If I leave my computer on I stay logged in to all my sites and my preferences on those sites are maintained. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

I have tried to make a backup of the bookmarks file. Renamed the old one and called the backup "bookmarks.html".
The places.sqlite file is not "secured" (there does not exist a "locked" attribute in the general tab on the Mac), so I assume it is not locked.
Nothing seems to work. Possibly I can best uninstall Firefox and try to reinstall it, or does that not solve the problem.
Otherwise I go back to Safari :-)

  • Mac does not save settings.

Hi, I'm new here (I haven't got my mac for a long time either), so please bear with me!
I have a problem with many programs, namely my mac does not save the settings.
Word: The change of default Czech language into Polish is not permanent. Czech comes back after the restart.
Ableton: The authorisation of the program is withdrawn when I switch the laptop. I have to authorise it again after every restart.
Cubase: It changes audio input and audio output back to internal speakers and microphone after the restart.
Additionally, for example, I have changed the preferences of video files. I have changed the default player from QuickTime to VLC. Restart undoes the changes.
Has anyone have a similar problem?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line on this page to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
