Hi Tim,
To answer your question, I use the Lenovo pages in the US because support takes you right back to the US pages even if you begin at the lenovo.com.mx page. All driver and downloads revert to the www.307-ibm pages.
As for the link, unless they are filtering on my Latin American IP address, it should work as well as any other link anywhere in the world. It's just an http: URL. isn't it?
Here's the link that the item points to:
http://www.pc.ibm.com/cgi-bin/tpsolutions.cgi?version=20&link=battery_replacement&mtm=6459CTO&countr...
Is it the same as your? I suspect the error is in the syntax of the link which is pointing to my model and the correct battery FRU.

  • [SOLVED] Power Management in KDE doesn't work

    Hello world :-)
    I just installed Arch and everything works well except for Power Management in KDE. The Power Management settings in System Settings are completely grayed out and provided with following message:
    "Power Management configuration module could not be loaded. The Power Management Service appears not to be running. This can be solved by starting or scheduling it inside Startup and Shutdown."
    However the Power Management service is already running and if I restart it I get the message:
    "KDE Power Management System could not be initialized. The backend reported the following error: No valid Power Management backend plugins are available. A new installation might solve this problem. Please check your system configuration."
    I have this problem since KDE installation, Power Management just never worked. After two days of googling I becoming a little bit desperate :-) Any idea what's wrong here?

    arojas wrote:is the upower daemon running?
    Not sure about that. I installed upower but I don't know how to configure it or if any configuration is needed. If I understand official documentation correctly, upower daemon should be started automatically if some application needs it.
    cfr wrote:Are you sure that you installed everything necessary for that to work? Which parts of KDE did you install, for example?
    I have full KDE installation (# pacman -S kde-meta) so problem should be in my Arch installation, no in KDE itself. I have only installed Arch, Xorg, proprietary Nvidia drivers and KDE so far, so there is only small chance I break or messed up something - it's more likely something I didn't install yet or didn't know how to configure.

  • Windows 7 RTM x64 Power Manager and switchable graphics not working

    Installed Windows 7 RTM x64 on my T400. After windows update and installing Lenovo's drivers, everything is accounted for. ATI graphics works fine, and I can see the Intel graphics on the shortcut menu. I just cannot manually switch to the built-in graphics, nor did I see the Power Manager. What do I need to do? I have installed the drivers for the power management, even though on the list of driver on lenovo's webpage it says it's only for SL models.
    Help would be appreciated.
    Specs:
    T400
    LED
    ATI/Intel switchable graphics
    4Gb

    Have you installed the Power manager http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html#powm ?
    And after that, make sure you have installed the right driver (the one for switchable graphics): http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html#m8xswitch
    Hope that helps.
    I also have Windows 7 Professional x64 on my T400 and everything works fine (i only uses programs and driver from here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/WIN7-BETA.html

    Hello, stashmore94.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    Usually the reason for interrupted, stalled or canceled syncing alerts is a result of either security software interference or TCP/IP modifications.  Also, non Apple cables and low powered USB hubs can cause this issue.  Here are a couple resources that I would recommend going through as they may help resolve the issue.

    How to disable safe mode on xperia z1,power and volume button doesn't work

    Hi rafharum,
    Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
    A simple restart to the device would generally resolve this issue, however if the power key and Volume key are not working they may very well be causing the handset to execute safemode when ever you power the device on.
    If this is the case, you will need to get the handset to a service agent for assessment. Please use the link below to contact Sony Mobile Customer Care directly.

  • Power Manager idle timers don't work correctly when set to dim the display in 15 minutes

    Instead of dimming the display to 0 on AC power, Power Manager dims it to 4, which is a normal setting when on DC power. Then when the laptop is resumed by tapping a key, it "restores" the brightness to an incorrect setting of 15, and a few seconds later back to 8, which is the correct setting. I haven't noticed this problem when setting to dim the display below 15 minutes, but the restoration of screen brightness onscreen notification is displayed twice in both cases.

    Hey there lenssd9,
    It seems strange that the Power Manager would be behaving this way, although speaking with some colleagues they also have encountered similar occurences- but instead describing it as if "the engine were warming up with a high idle, and then returning to a standard idle."
    What I can recommend is to first, ensure that your Power Manager Software is up to date. And then try adjusting the configuration within the Power Manager. If you will, see if you encounter this with a idle display under 15 minutes.
    Thank You lnssd9, I look forward to your response.

  • Leopard hangs - have to power off  - force quit doesn't work

    On several occasions Leopard has hung - try to run activity monitor to kill problem app - I get the bouncing icon but nothing else. force quit does not work on it. Can't log off - can put to sleep, but resumes in same hung state. Once I hard power off and restart, a I get a series of beeps, not just one and a normal start - no error messages. Other programs also would not respond to force quit including parallels desktop.

    Hi,
    Have had same problem here. My iMac is only a few days old, and barely anything on it before the upgrade from tiger to leopard.
    Tried lauching thunderbird tonight, and the app just sat on the dock bouncing for a while, but the application never actually seemed to launch.
    Tried force quit, but didn't have any effect. Also could not log-off, or shut down, as it said the application wasn't responding. This does seem very windoze-like!

  • Power button orange light doesn't work after BIOS update on MSI 2A9C

    Hi,
    I have updated my system BIOS (downloaded from HP web site), the computer works I can enter into BIOS setting.
    PC: HP Pavillion p6716it-m
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
    Old BIOS version: 6.16
    Mainboard: MSI 2A9C (from CPU-Z)
    Data from new BIOS main page:
    BIOS revision: 6.18 01/05/12
    Core version: 08.00.15
    When I put the computer into sleep mode with the old BIOS the power button became orange, now with the new BIOS it is off. In the BIOS setting I have noticed that if I go to: "main -> SYSTEM IDs" the renderig stage is not perfect, at regular intervals some strange artifacts has shown. It seems like when you draw on a window some GUI components without using double buffering.
    After update I realized that the new BIOS in the HP web site is for mainboard: MS-7613. It is equivalent to mine? Thanks.

  • My 3rd generation ipad will not turn off.  When I try to power it down it doesn't work.  I have tried restoring it and everything.  Please Help!

    Plz help.

    Hi BigMIKE29,
    Not sure what "everything" entails, but have you tried a reset (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and conintue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Apple appears the reset is in progress, and the Home screen will display shortly.
    Cheers,

  • Gnome power managment - need more detailed control

    Is there something in the AUR or elsewhere that will allow one to specify per-disk spindown times?  For example, /dev/sda = never but /dev/sdb = 15 min.  Should I just call a script from /etc/rc.local that does it via hdparm or is there something more fancy?

    Assuming this is a laptop (if not ignore), you could have different spin-down times on AC vs battery if you ran the hdparm script through pm-utils, by adding a hook to pm-powersave and having it react to acpi events through acpid.

  • Silent install Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 doesn't work

    We try a silent install of BPEL Process Manager, but it doesn't work. We use this batchfile: setup.exe -nowait -force -responseFile C:\Oracle_BPEL.rsp
    This is our responseFile:
    RESPONSEFILE_VERSION=2.2.1.0.0
    UNIX_GROUP_NAME=<Nicht festgelegter Wert>
    FROM_LOCATION="C:\BPEL\bpel_oc4j\stage\products.xml"
    FROM_LOCATION_CD_LABEL=<Nicht festgelegter Wert>
    ORACLE_HOME="C:\Programme\OraBPEL"
    ORACLE_HOME_NAME="OraBPELPM1"
    We use a German Windows XP SP2.
    The installation starts and creates an "OraInstall"-Directory in the TEMP-DIR. Then the installation stops (fails).
    Is there a possibility to create an error log? The switch "-debug" shows only the just running actions in a "DOS"-Window that closed itsself after the error. So we can't read the error massage.

    Could anybody post a functunaly response file?
    Thanks a lot!
