Power Manager utility for Windows 8 (third-party)

Hi...
I wrote a small utility that might be interesting for ThinkPad owners running Windows 8 who miss the "old" battery indicator and power manager. It's pretty limited by now, but I'm planning to add more features in the future.
What's implemented by now:
- system power status monitoring (a.k.a. battery indicator) on the desktop
- charge control, which lets you customize battery charge thresholds
What's planned:
- display more useful battery information (battery manufacturer, manufacture date, charge cycles, etc.)
- auto-switch power scheme on power event (AC line connect/disconnect, etc.)
Well, to cut the chase, here's the link if you're interested...

There are no plans to run it in the taskbar as a toolbar, sorry.
I'm planning to make the Desktop tile draggable so that you can place it anywhere on the screen (or another monitor, for example), maybe with auto-snapping in the corners. But that's a feature with low priority.
I will change the licensing model of Power-Manager to GPL in an upcoming release, and make its core and presentation APIs reusable as separate components.

I have been trying to install the Power Manager Utility for Windows Vista (MIGR 67216) hoping that this will solve my Power Manager error.  The Power Manager shuts down automatically whenever I start the computer or try to access the Power Manager.  Dow anyone have a solution?

  • How Can I get v1.52 of "ThinkPad Power Management driver for Windows"?

The subject says it all: How can I get v1.52 of the "ThinkPad Power Management driver for Windows Vista, XP, 2000, Me, 98 SE - ThinkPad" driver? Since installing v1.53 I've been experiencing screen issues (screen goes dark, and it's very hard to get the screen brightness back to normal) that seem to be tied to my T40p entering sleep mode / turning off the screen.
I want to see if reverting back to v1.52 fixes these problems.

  • Power Management Driver for Windows 8.1 missing (G510)

    Hello,
There is no lenovo power management driver for windows 8.1 listed in the support page. There is only a version for windows 8 available. I need that driver and i need to have it. My laptop is the G510. When will the new version of the software be released? It's a new laptop and it should be fully compatible.
Till then, will installing windows 8 version of the program cause problems?
    Thanks

I will . Hope that Lenovo will do as needed. Anyone know a better way to be heard by Lenovo and get an answer for this issue?

  • T61 Power Management Driver for Windows 7 - where?

I cannot find a released Power Management Driver for Windows 7 for the Thinkpad T61.
I see a version 1.60 but it does not include Windows 7 for the T61.  And the only other one I have found is beta.
As an aside, do I even need the Power Management Driver if I'm not going to use Power Manager?

Right there in the T61 drivers and software dowload page:  "Support -> Download Drivers and Software -> enter T61"
    ThinkPad Power Management Driver
README for ThinkPad Power Management Driver
In the driver matrix, it's listed as for "ACPI Power Management" for Vista and lower - but is the same driver. The readme and download page include Win 7 if you dig a little deeper.  Maybe that's what is causing the confustion.
[edit] Sorry, spoke too soon.  I dug a little deeper.  The readme doesn't list the T61 under WIn 7, only Vista.  OTOH, the download page for the T61 lists that driver for Win 7.  Anyone actually try it?

  • X240 power management driver for Windows 8.1

Installed the power management driver for Win 8.1   I am using the registry to START and STOP my charging process with the following reg keys ( I am doing it this way since there is no Power Manager software):
    ChargeStartControl
    ChargeStartPercentage
    ChargeStopControl
    ChargeStopPercentage
Been using it for a while, I dont allow the battery to charge unless it is under 35% and I was stoping at 85%.
I tried changing the stop back to 100% and it will not change past 85%.   I have rebooted, unistalled the driver, removed microsoft ACPI, replaced ACPI .. Nothing works.   This was working about a month ago.
For the record, for whatever reason, removing the power management driver does not remove the reg keys ...  I dont know why ...
Am I missing something or do I have a bad battery?

I will . Hope that Lenovo will do as needed. Anyone know a better way to be heard by Lenovo and get an answer for this issue?

  • When comes N200 power manager driver for 7? Hotkeys not working without it.

    Hello,
Will be there release for power manager driver for Windows 7?
I did install all drivers, could find under download for 7 and infact, without power manager driver hotkeys (sleep, hibernate) on N200 do not work.
Solved it with installing Vista power manager driver with compatibility mode and bingo, all keys started work and I'm able to sleep/hibernate my laptop.
Why isn't there driver for 7 if without it things do not fully function?

try these : 32 bit - 64 bit or try smart downloading

  • What power management driver for u530 64bit Windows 8.1?

Having a lot of issues with my new (refurbished) Lenovo u530. One issue is that I have an unknown device in device manager that appears to be related to my lack of a power management driver. The reason I have no power management driver is because lenovo offers none to download on the drivers page when I select windows 8.1.
The Windows 8 option lists as working with the u530,  Z410, Z510, Z710.
    http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-u-series-laptops/ideapad...
When I go to the support page for z410/z510 I see they have an 8.1 driver available, but u530 is not listed.
    http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-z-series-laptops/ideapad...
Z710 also has no 8.1 driver available on the lenovo site.
I have found a reference out there that suggested this driver: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/em8180214.exe but it's kind of out of nowhere and don't want to try it without somebody saying it's correct.

    hi RegerREdhawk,
    Thanks for Posting!
I would suggest using the same Windows 8 Power Management Software,
    Lenvo Energy Management Driver for Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit) - IdeaPad U530 Touch, Z410, Z510, Z710
Im pretty sure that the version for 8.1 will be released for this model.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • How to handle power managment features of Windows Vista

    Hi guys
I searched a little bit in the Toshiba Technical Knowledge Base and found very interesting article about the power management features of Windows Vista.
*[How to handle power management features of Windows Vista|http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD84026Q0000R01.htm]*
The point is that you will not find a same Toshiba Power Saver tool on Vista like on the Windows XP notebooks and the power saver settings are a little bit hidden in the Vista Power Saver settings.
But you can also control the certain options like Cooling Method or Power Saving Mode.
I think this document could be interesting for some here in the forum!
    Greetings to all!

    Hi Jayjay
Thanks for posting this here in the forum.
Several days ago I searched for such further power option in Vista.
This document was really, really helpful for me.
    Thanks again

  • Problem installing Power Manager Utility

Hello, X60, I intalled a new  XP SP 3 system and I wanted
to reinstall Power Manager Utility (I had istalled PM driver previously).
I downloaded the file fie g6u710ww.exe. But no go.
The system asks for Microsoft .NET 3 or later.
Well, the problem is that I istalled  Microsoft . NET 4 (which is clearly later then 3).
Anyway, It won't install the Power Manager Utility.
    What should I do?
    Thank you

I had the same issue with some sw earlier on my laptop with Win7/64 bit. That sw didn't want to be installed and needed the old .NET vesion. At the same time my system restricted old version .NET environment installtion process from M$ site or from sw installation package as I had up to date .NET. The result was I couldn't avoid that strange behaviour.

  • Satellite 1900-102: Power Management Utility won't install in XP SP2

    Hi,
Wondering if anyone has came across thi problem before:
I had to uninstall the Toshiba power management utility (version 1.3 for Satellite 1900-102 running XP SP2). When I tried to re-install the setup launches and I get a message box saying "Invalid Handle" followed by the error "You cannot install this version of toshiba power management utility to your system" and the setup aborts.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi
Why did you reinstall this utility?
As far as I know on the Toshiba website are to drivers. One for Win2k and one for WinXp.
Did you try to install the right driver?
    Check this link:

  • B570e Energy Management Driver for Windows 8.1

    Hi ,
    Recently , I installed Windows 8.1 on my B570e laptop .
Some problems I faced , such as touchpad scrolling and inverted scrolling and I solved it by installing the old driver , because the new driver does not include advanced settings.
However , there is no energy management driver for my laptop.
The energy management driver for windows 7 has no effect.
I tried installing energy driver in this link and it is not working at all.
My laptop still work and does not sleep automatically after 25 miutes.
What is the solution for energy management ?

    Hi Revo,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that sleep, touchpad and other power management feature are not working as expected after upgrading to Windows 8.1; I suggest you re-install the LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) driver available, while installing the drivers right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error. The issue should resolve if the latest display driver is installed in the computer, below are the link to automatically scan the computer and install the relevant driver from Intel and NVIDIA:
    Intel display driver auto detect
    NVIDIA graphics driver auto detect
Below is an image which will explain why some of the drivers are not available in support site for Windows 8.1:
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
    Hope this helps!!!
Do post us back if the issue persists.
    Best Regards
    Shiva Kumar

  • Repository Creation Utility for windows 7 64 bit

    Hi All,
I did not find Repository Creation Utility for windows 7 64 bit.
Any idea how I can get around this or where I can find RCU for windows 7 64 bit.
    Thanks, in advance!

    Hi DK,
There is not a particular 64bit installation. I think it works like this: if you are using a 64bit JDK the apps server is also running 64 bit.
You can find the generic jar here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html and take the generic one (http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/wls1033_generic.jar)
You install this by a command like this (you have to look up the documentation): java -XXm.... .... wls1033_generic.jar
    Then a installer pops up.
    So these were my steps:
    - installed RCU
    - installed 64 bits JDK (jdk-6u21-windows-x64.exe)
    - installed Weblogic (wls1033_generic.jar)
    - installed OBI as "software only"
    - configured OBIi (config.bat you can find in <obi11g home>\Oracle_BI1\bin)
All together it does not take much longer then the 32bit install. Only some extra steps to do.
Hope this works for you too.
    Regards
