Power off after lock screen

How about making the power off function only available after the lock screen so if someone steals your iphone they can't turn it off without your passcode. Then it could stay traceable.

  • Wifi kicks me off after lock screen

when i sign in to my wifi i get kicked off once my phone is locked any reasoning behind this?
This only happens with my wifi at work and my I.T. department does not have a solution says it may be because cisco doesnt play nicely with ios.
Seems to lose the connection after the lock screen is enabled and happens about a minute after that? Any ideas why?

Yup, since ios 6 , wifi connectivity needs to reconnect after lock screen.
    Very annoying.
    Ios 5 was fine.
Also when using the remote app for apple tv... After lock screen it takes forever to connect! Unuseable and not thought through.. When i connect (instantly) with iphone and ios5, my ios6 ipad as well... Lol, good job guys..;)
Also, the gateway issue since ios 6 : 255.255.255.0 , 255.255.0.0 - you screwed a lot of musicians. ( you know what im talking about my dear apple friends..)
So many software rewrites had to be made, having to  use static ips etc...
Let me tell you one thing : if you update the Ios, take what works and addon, dont break it... Really... I would change my ipad back to ios 5 anytime... This release was a complete disaster compared to Ios 5 ... Steve would be thrilled....
Anyway, no hard feelings... Just fix it please, or let us reinstall ios 5.
Please take this to heart (and to the devs) ;)
    Thankyouuuu:):)

  • Is it better to "lock" or "power off" after an Ipad 2 use? Why.?

Is it better to "lock" or "power off" after an Ipad 2 use? Why.?

A locked iPad is sleeping and will be usable much faster than one that has to be powered up. The sleeping iPad uses very little power, but it uses a few percent of the battery.

  • How do I shut off the lock screen feature on my iPhone 5s?

How do I shut off the lock screen feature on my iPhone 5s?

You can turn Auto-Lock off and you can choose not to have the Passcode Lock feature enabled, but there will always "slide to unlock" available after manually turning the iPhone's screen off with the sleep/wake button or with Auto-Lock enabled without having the Passcode Lock feature enabled.
This is to prevent anything from being selected on the iPhone after the screen has been turned off or or placing the iPhone in sleep mode if the iPhone were in your pocket and the home button or sleep/wake button was selected without your knowledge.

  • Yoga - Thinkpad message receiver for shortcut hot keys and 30 % CPU usage after lock screen or sleep

Hi! After returning from sleep or lock screen a process called "Thinkpad message receiver for shortcut hot keys" starts using about 30% of the CPU. Temps go upo to 60-70 degrees battery is being depleted quite fast. This process doesn't stop until I end it using task manager. Once ended that way, it doesn't start again even if I use sleep or lock screen. Need help with this!
I didn't use to have this problem like a month ago or so. Probably came into existence after some updates.
    Solved!

Do any of you have Kaspersky Anti-Virus or Internet Security? Seems like few T540 owners also got the same problem and one of them discovered it is Kaspersky causing the problem. I can comform it too.
I am using Kaspersky Internet Secuirty 2015, when I resume my TPY from sleep, the message receiver for shortcut hot keys will show up and use 20-35% processing power which cause the laptop to heat up.
I hope a Thinkpad rep can come in to report the bug.

  • Ipod touch is stuck on swirly icon after lock screen freezing

My ipod got stuck on the lock screen and wouldn't respond to anything I tried. Left it for 10 minutes and came back and it had gone to the swirly icon screen which normally comes after updating your ipod. It has been on this swirly icon screen for about 30 minutes now. Tried syncing with itunes no response, also restarting using lock and home button does not work. Will not turn off either. I'm going to restore ipod now but it takes 4 hours for the software to update is this right??
    Thank you.

Yes, someties it can take hours for the update.  The download can take hours.
If you can't restore the iPod since iTunes will not see the iPod, disconnect he iPod from a charging source and let the battery full drain.  After charging for an hour try the reset, and restore.  You also may have to place the iPod in recovery mode.  For that see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

  • Macbook Pro screen is lowest brightness after lock screen

    Hi,
Recently my MBP randomly has the lowest brightness after i come back to login after a lock screen... any solutions to this?

    Goto
    System Preferences> Keyboard>
and make sure "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" is unchecked
Alternatively you can try pressing the function key on your keyboard in combination with the brightness keys. (fn) lower left.

  • Turn off fading lock screen in ios 7.0

I have updated my iphone to iso 7.0, but I do not like the fading in and out on the lock screen. I can't figure out how to turn the feature off. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

Completely agree with all the complaints here.  This riddiculous fading activity reminds me of MS Windows in the late 90's when they started having the menu options fade in and out.  I don't want to wait and watch the "cool" animation when I want to get something done -- I just want to do it!
This iOS Romper Room edition (or Playschool Edition if you prefer) is certainly annoying.  It's as if they are trying to make a retro-look so we can all remember what it was like before there were things like 256 colors on monitors.
I hope they add in the ability to switch off this time-consuming fade and A LOT MORE of the new graphical elements.

  • Automatic logout after lock screen for long time?

When I leave my mac screen locked for long time, sometimes I see the following message after unlocking screen:
"Logout has timed out because the application [x] failed to quit...."
Where [x] is some application trying to quit, and is waiting for user confirmation. This happens even when the computer is plugged in to AC. Has anyone else seen this problem? TIA

  • Mail has to be forced closed to power off after maverick upgrade

After taking the maverick upgrade to power off the computer I have to force close mail. Not a huge deal but wondering if there is a setting I don't have right.  I'm pretty new to this mac world...less than a year...so I'm still learning.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Odgenite,
Please first complete your profile, if you don't know how please click Profile Update for instructions.
The first thing to do is restart in Recovery Mode, open Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions 2x. If you don't know how to start in Recovery Mode then hold down the Option key when you hear the startup tone and you will see what partitions to start from. Choose Recovery, then open Disk Utility. After running Repair Permissions 2x restart normally and re test. If this does not work then open in Recovery Mode again this time reinstall OS X, this will leave your data alone however it is ALWAYS wise to backup your data prior to doing any update or upgrade.

  • Apps automatically starting after lock screen

How do I disable apps from opening automatically after I enter my password from the lock screen.
For example, Facebook or Foursquare has a message and when I enter my password the iPhone automatically launches the app to show me the message. How do I disable this?

  • IPhone 4 screen goes blank after lock screen

My iPhones screen works perfectly on the lock screen but as soon as i enter the passcode it goes blank.
Its still fully functional in terms of recieving calls, vibrating, screenshotting etc. but what could i do to fix it.
I've already tried reseting the settings by holding the home and sleep button at the same time.
    What else can I do?

I'm sorry, but this makes no sense. What do you mean by "screenshotting"? How can you tell anything is working if the screen goes blank after you enter the passcode?
If a reset didn't fix it, try a restore. If that doesn't fix it, restore it as a new device.

  • HT1430: ipad goes black after lock screen

When the ipad goes on the lock screen and i slide to unlock it, the whole screen goes black and will only display the time, battery and signal sign, i pressed the home button but it just gets rid ov the things that were being displayed the only way i can make this go away is if i lock my screen  and sliding the unlock button again. Is there something wrong with my ipad or is it a programme ??

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPad: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
