Power On Button (From Standby)

I just started (Last night and this morning) having problems powering up the mobile from standby mode
I have to press the power button a couple of times to turn the mobile on
Its seems to happen when I haven't used the mobile for a few hours

If the suggestions above doesn't help, I suggest that you try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

  • Satellite A100: USB power error coming from standby after BIOS 5.20 upgrade

    Hi
I am having USB power problems since upgrading my BIOS to 5.2 a few days ago on receipt of an e-mail from Toshiba advising the upgrade
I have a A100-200 PSAA8E running Windows XP Media Edition since upgrading the BIOS to 5.20 I get power fault messages but only when the PC comes out of standby
The error message tells me that " A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port"
I have nothing connected to any of the USB ports
I have spoken to the tech guys at length at Toshiba but they cant seem to explain or fix the problem---one even thought it might be a motherboard problem but I've discounted that as the timing is too coincidental to be anything other than the BIOS upgrade.
If anyone knows of a fix then I would be grateful--is it possible to locate a previous BIOS and roll backwards from 5.20
I am assuming that if its the BIOS then when they issue another one it will correct itself?
    Comments appreciated

I have an Equium 100-147 and am also getting 'A USB device has
    > exceeded the power limits of its hub port" message
. It doesn't seem to affect anything. It seems to be just a nuisance value. I have nothing connected to the usb ports when it flashes up and also the message only appears now and then. I also updated the bios. Oh well!

  • Power down button & XP Standby problems

We're having problems with a K7N2 Delta-L not shutting down properly in WinXP.  After running 'Start | Shut Down | Shut Down', for some reason the system doesn't completely shut down.
Instead we get a message saying something like, "You can turn your system off now".  We have to hold the power button down for 5 seconds to get the system to shut down.
I've gone through the BIOS/CMOS setup, and didn't fing anything there that might cause the problem, though I could have missed it.  Could the problem be with XP settings?
I don't know if this is a related problem, but on the XP 'Start | Shut Down' window, 'Standby' is greyed out and disabled.
Any thoughts on this much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nat

    >You disabled ACPI ... Enable it in the bios and then
    >enable ACPI in the power options in the contrl panel.
Thanks... I ended up reversing the order, as I was already booted into XP.  Setting 'Control Panel > Power Options > APM' to 'Enable Advanced Power Management Support' got the system to shut down fully when shutting down XP.
A check of the BIOS/CMOS Power Management setting showed the ICPA function (which enables ACPI) disabled.  I guess XP is smart enough to work around BIOS.
However the Standby option in XPs Shut Down window is still greyed out.  I tried enabling Hibernation in XP's Power Options, but an enabled Hibernation icon appeared at shut down instead of a Standby icon.  When I tried to hibernate, XP couldn't reboot, and on 2nd boot offered an option to delete old settings and try booting again.  Thought I was headed to the Recovery Console there for a moment.
Anyone have any idea why there's no option to set Standby in XP's Power Options where the online help indicates the it should be?
    Thanks again,
    Nat

  • When waking up from standby, monitors power up but no picture is displayed. HP ENVY Phoenix h9

Product: HP ENVY Phoenix h9 PC Series
    Product #: H3Y51AA#BL
    Model: h9-1387
    OS: Windows 8 64-bit
    Monitors: DELL 2407WFPHC x 2
Updated graphics drivers to latest non-beta version.
    Hello,
Since purchasing my PC a few months ago, there has been one "display" problem after another. This is the current problem:
When stepping away from my computer, I lock it via Win+L and shortly after my monitors turn off. When returning a short time later, I attempt to wake up (But not really "wake up"... To try and fix previous display problems, I've already disabled hibernation and sleep options) my computer by moving my mouse. This causes the monitors to exit standby and power up, but all that is dispalyed is black screens when I should have been presented with the login screen.
Mouse and keyboard clicks do nothing and I'm stuck at black screens. To continue, I press my PC's power button which causes the hard drives to spin-up and shortly after the computer turns off. I press the power button again and the computer boots to the login screen where once I enter my password, Windows loads and all my programs etc are displayed as they were before I locked my PC.
You can see previous problems I've had listed below, hopefully they will also help you detect the cause of the current problem.
    Please help.
    Thanks!
    Peter
    Previous problems that I've had:
    1) When waking from hibernation, the computer would not wake monitors from standby leaving no way to login and save work. Hard reboot required. Solution: Disable Windows hibernation features.
    2) Error along the lines of "Display driver failed and have recovered". Possible solution: Disabled hardware acceleration in Firefox.
    3) When waking from standby, I find my 2 monitors have merged into one, and at a different resolution than normal. Once entering password to login, programs that were on seperate monitors are now on the same monitor. Right-clicking the desktop and selecting "Screen Resolution" -> "Detect" would set the monitors back to normal until the problem occurs again. Possible solution: Updated graphics card driver. Not sure if this problem has been fixed, it may have just been covered up by the new problem mentioned above.
    This question was solved.

    Hey peterallcdn,
I'm sorry you're running into this resuming from sleep issue. Sometimes services that are trying to resume can cause issues like this. I would suggest trying a clean boot (booting with only essential system services running) and then seeing if it resumes from sleep properly.
Here are the steps to disable non-critical services:
    1. Windows + Q to bring up Search
    2. Type 'msconfig' and press Enter
    3. Click the Services Tab
    4. Check the Hide All Microsoft Services box
    5. Click the Disable All button
    6. Click Apply and Restart
When you restart Windows should only load essential system services, no 3rd party software. Lock the computer and let it go into sleep mode as you usually do and then try to resume from sleep. Let  me know what the result of that is.
I have seen other cases where Google Talk or antivirus programs will prevent the computer from resuming properly.

  • HT1379 A flashing question mark appears when I re/start my MacBook Air 2013. At first, I pressed Power & Option button and it recovered from Internet. Then, four options appeared but none of them are helpful. Could u please help me to solve it asap?

    Hello,
A flashing question mark appears when I re/start my MacBook Air 2013. Then, I pressed POWER & OPTOIN buttons and internet options appeared for internet recovery. After internet recovery, the OS X utilities appears with four options (Restore from Time machine, Reinstall OS X, Get help online and Disk utility). But none of them seemed helpful. On the last option Disk utility, the icon created only with 33KB and other disk 1 Mac Os X Base system. On First Aid, the icon Repair disk is disabled. So I could not click on repair disk. Could you please suggest me how to solve this problem asap? Thank you so much for your help in advance!

    You can try the following:
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • I have macbook air and the first buttons from ,esc to power, make different orders what can i do ?

i have macbook air and the first buttons from ,esc to power, make different orders what can i do ?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
The behavior of those buttons (and other key shortcuts) can be set/changed in System Preferences->Keyboard:Keyboard Shortcuts button.
If you are missing the power button shutdown option from Mavericks OS 10.9x the workaround is control-power button or hold the power button down longer that poking (sleep) but not as long as force shutdown (crash).

  • Power manager crashes after returning from standby mode.

I have a T400 2767 WU6 running Windows 7 Pro-64bit.. After returning from standby mode, power manager crashes (version 3). All the software installed is supposed to be compatible with win7 pro 64bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does this issue appear from the beginning?
Possibly the OS was installed several time ago and now the registry entries are corrupt.
Therefore the system busy egg timer could appear.
Im not 100% sure it will help but possibly you should reinstall the whole OS
On the fresh installed OS all should works much faster

  • Cannot power up from standby with remote

Using the microsoft remote with XP MCE2005 I cannot wake the computer up when in standby mode, are there any settings which I need to adjust?

the way i have it set up is to have only one user with no password set. that way, when windows starts up, it will bypass welcome screen and go to desktop of default user. if you have downloaded the .net framework, you should go into Administrative Tools and in the Users settings, disable the ASP.NET user that has been created
as for your other query i'm not sure what else to suggest - MCE05 could restart fine from standby usng the remote when i had my mega 651 - it doesn't on my current mega-less media center setup (prays for mega 180 to arrive soon) as it won't go to standby manually (??) - but i know the remote can't wake the computer if shut down or in hibernate

  • Screen doesn't turn on after resuming from standby- Windows XP

    Hi all,
I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 with Windows XP SP3 (recently installed xp), and my laptop goes to sleep fine, but when I try to wake it up from standby, the computer turns on fine, but the screen does not turn on at all. The hdd LED shows that the hdd is doing something, but the screen does not turn on at all. I've tried pressing keys on the keyboard, moving the mouse but still no luck. So since I cannot get my laptop out of sleep, I have to hold the power button and power the laptop off and then back on again. I do not wish to keep doing this since you can corrupt your hdd by doing this too much.
Any help would be highly appreciated..
    Thankyou,

  • White screen when resuming from standby

    Hey,
For about a week when I resume from standby by opening the lid I get a white screen.
I'm using a MacBook Pro 2,7 GHz, Intel Core i7 with 4 GB ram bought in September this year (2011). Fully updated as of today.
Basically, I close the lid of the laptop before I go to sleep and when I open it the next day the screen goes white. So far I have remedied this by pushing the power button which forces the Shut Off options to appear and the white screen is gone.
Is this something I should be concerned about? I've read about the "White Screen of Death."
    Anyone else have this issue?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. First, disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including your login items.
    Test. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

  • Exiting from standby issue

When one of my T61 returns from standby it immediately re-enters standby. I can then press the power button or open the lid to have it return from standby again.
Does anyone have a solution to this? I have updated the BIOS and the power management drivers with no effect.

    Satellite L50D (PSKULU-02M03R)
    Very similar to this model.
    Satellite L50D-BST2NX2 (PSKULU-03C00U)
    Downloads here.
have had to shut down pull battery etc to get to boot up.
You may have a hardware malfunction. Best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents as follows. If the problem persists prior to installing updates, software, or hardware, get a replacement or warranty repair.
Settings > Change PC settings > Update and recovery tab > Recovery tab > Remove everything and reinstall Windows

  • Wake Up From Standby

I just added a MS wireless keyboard. Is there a way to wake up the Portege from standby from this keyboard? Now I have to open the lid and use the power button on the notepad. Before, I had settings that put the notepad in standby when I closed the lid. I changed that setting to do nothing when close the lid.
The notepad is set to go to standby after 15 minutes of non-use. This works fine but when I want to use it again I can't find a way to wake it up without opening the lid and using the power button.

I have read your posting 5 times now and I believe I have understand what you wrote but I am asking myself how you want to work on your Portege if you do not want to open the lid????:|
    > …I can't find a way to wake it up without opening the lid…
You want to use notebook with closed lid or what? Do you use external display?

  • X301 and Wake from Standby Issues

I received my X301 on last Thursday, and really like this computer. Over the weekend, however, I noticed a recurring problem.
It seems to be unable to wake from standby when connected directly (not using the port replicator) to an external monitor. I tried different combinations of entering standby:
    1. Shut off external monitor, then go to standby;
    2. Leave monitor on, then go to standby;
I am using extended desktop for the display properties.
When not connected to a monitor, it seems to be OK. I had selected the option to do nothing when closing the lid on the laptop, but changed that when I noticed this issue. It did not seem to make a difference. I have to hold the power button down and shut off the computer to re-boot.
When I open the lid, the message on the screen is something like going into standby, but it should say, coming out of standby. Regardless, nothing happens. I do not think I have password protected the machine. I may have, but also think I deleted this because I thought that could have been causing the problem. At start up, I do not have to swipe my finger, nor enter a password.
    My OS is XP.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I have the same issue.  x301.  Win7 64bit.  I called tech sup.  They want me to back up everything and go back to factory defaults.  This never worked.  It was a problem out of the box so I am reluctant.  I uninstalled the access program that shows wireless options and network connectivity.  Now I can wake, but when I do I have no network connectivity.  I have to reboot to get wireless or wired connectivity.  I'm still looking for a cure.

  • RS480M2 boots on resume from standby

    Hello,
I've had a RS480M2 (emachines T6212) for some time now and have had good experiences so far.
After standby was working perfectly for a couple years, I've recently started experiencing standby issues,
but not like any I have read here.
The machine goes into standby no problem (reports "preparing to stand by" then turns off).
In the past I could wake the machine from standby with mouse, keyboard or power button.
Now MOST of the time, it seems that the computer has actually done a full shut down, as nothing
works but the power button to resume, and doing so actually does a full boot rather than the
expected resume from standby. Every once in a while I will come out of standby normally, but
only when the machine has been in standby for a few minutes.
S1/S3 standby is enabled, and I also tried S3(STR)
I had recently updated to the 3.9 bios, then read of problems occurring in later bios versions
so I flashed back to 3.5, which seems to be the most stable as far as standy issues, but
I'm still seeing the same boot on resume issue.
I have upgraded to later versions of ATI catalyst (latest now).  I'm running a Gigabyte PCI-Express
X800, and have also recently started using the DVI out instead of the VGA out.
Also, which may or may not be related, ATI Cool n' Quiet stopped working as well, using latest
AMD processor drivers and enabled in the BIOS.
    Any Ideas?
    -Colin

You shouldn't have flashed the bios. You should not have updated drivers.
Most of the time, these problems occur with certain drivers or certain drivers running at the same time.
Best thing to do is to uninstall all drivers and reinstall the drivers you used when all worked fine.
