Power on off problem wth my hp probook 4530s

My HP probook was working fine till this morning it just turned itself off and now wont power up at all no lights etc. I then tried another battery I had and when plugged in the orange light will now show to say charging with this battery unlike my other one but still no power or anything, keep pressing and holding the power button but nothing happens? Any help on this or if its a known fault would be great?

  • K8N Neo4 Platinum power on/off problem

    Hi all.
I just got a K8N Neo4 Platinum, and have a problem with switching it on and off.
When I switch on the mains to the PC PS(before turning the PC on), the fans start turning, and I hear disks spinning up. The PC power LED is off, but the HD LED is on. There is no picture on the monitor.
If I then switch the PC on, it boots normal, power LED is on, and the HD LED is normal. The PC is working absolutely normal, with winXP.
But when I turn the PC off again, the fans remain on, power LED goes off, HD LED on. And I can't switch the PC on again, till I have toggled the mains supply.
I have tried measuring what comes on the power connector. It looks like there is still 12V when the PC is supposed to be switched off. Don't know if that is right.
There is also 5VSB and PWR OK, but I think they are supposed to be there.
I hope I have been able to explain the problem in understandable english.

That the comp turn itself on when the different front side connectors etc isnt in, i dont think that's a problem with ur PSU.
Same thing happend to me when i forgot to plug them in a couple of days ago. I got a Tagan 480W, and its flawless!
Have u ever considered unplugging everything, and doing it from the beginning? ......
I have tried from the beginning many times, but it's always failing.
BUT..... Today I got a new K8N Neo4 Platinum from a vendor next door to where I work, and it works perfectly
I had a suspicion that the motherboard was causing the fail, but couldn't be sure without trying a new one. Now the first one is going back to the shop where I bought it.
Thanks to all for all the suggestions you have come up with.

  • Power on off problem

My hp 2060 printer power cable and power cord both r working but printer not start and also printer on off button not show any indicator light

    Hey @arshad1985,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060 All-in-One Printer will not turn on. I am going to offer the standard 'no power' troubleshooting steps for you to go through to see if you can get this issue resolved.
The HP Printer Won't Turn On or Respond When the Power Button is Pressed
For your specific printer please run through the following steps:
Solution one: Plug the printer directly in a wall outlet:
HP Printers perform best when plugged directly into a wall outlet. Power strips and surge protectors can cause printers to lack power and not function properly. To ensure that lack of power is not causing this issue, please plug your printer directly into a wall outlet if it is not already.
Solution two: Make sure that the wall outlet works:
Always ensure that the wall outlet that you have a product plugged into works properly. I doubt this is the case as you indicated in  your post that the power adaptor and power cord are working.
Solution three: Make sure that the power supply is compatible with the printer:
Ensure that you are using the power adaptor and cable that came with your printer. Your product uses an external power supply and cord. Generally there is a light on the power supply to indicate that the supply is getting sufficient power.
Solution four: Reset the power module, and then test the power:
The power module has a safety feature inside that protects the printer during a power surge. If you experienced a recent power surge, the power module might need to be reset. Use the following steps to reset the power module:
Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, disconnect the cord from the power module.
    Wait 15 seconds.
If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, reconnect the power cord to the power module.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
Check to see if the power module or the power cord has an indicator light and if it is on.
NOTE: Not all external modules or cords have an indicator light.
Indicator light on an external power module
Indicator light on a power cord
If the light appears, try to turn the printer on again. Do not hold the power button down.
Solution five: Test the power with a compatible power cord from a different printer:
If you have another product that uses the same power cord please try the working power cord in your printer to ensure that your power cord is functioning. Occasionally your power supply may be fine but the cord the goes from your supply to the printer may be defective. Testing the power cord is a good way to verify if that power cord is actually functioning.
Should the power supply and power cord be functional but the printer still fails to power on than it does appear that you have a hardware failure on your printer. Should this be the case I would recommend that you contact our Technical Support queue by phone to explore additional options.

  • Power on-off-on Problems with New Build Z68A-GD65(G3)

I'm hoping someone has seen these issues and can help me, although I realize this is a vague issue. I'm working on a new build. On power up everything looks good but then I get a power off and back on (like a reset). Sometimes it happens very quickly; other times it will stay on for roughly 5-10 minutes before the reset. I've checked all the connectors, case wires look ok, BIOS info looks correct.
The other issue is that when I tried to do the Win 7 install, it loads the files, goes to the "Starting Windows" screen, and freezes there (until the next power off problem shuts things down).
Any ideas on what to try to narrow things down?  Seems like it almost has to be the power supply or motherboard?

You have more than a Z68A-GD65(G3), please list he rest of your components. See my signature below for example of what to list.
           >> Posting Guide <<
I've disconnected everything but the mouse, keyboard and monitor and still have the power resets.
Tried one memory module at a time... still fails.
Played with lower memory freq settings... still fails.
Finally pulled the MB out, bench tested it to rule out shorting in the case; tried it with and without other peripherals... still fails.
I think I'll RMA the MB, although I suppose it could be the psu (unlikely, I'd think).
I had two bad motherboards in my last build. I had hope that MSI would be better...

  • Major Freezing and Power off problems.

So this is going to be kind of a long post, but if there is anyone out there who knows what the **** I can do to solve this issue I would really appreciate it. I bought an 8gb iPhone when they were first released last summer. Just 2 days ago the phone started to power itself off if it had been in sleep mode for more than a few minutes. I tried everything in the book (reset, reset settings, restore, etc.) Nothing helped. I went to an apple store and since the genius there was able to reproduce the issue they just gave me a brand new phone right there. Awesome right?! Wrong! After syncing the new phone with iTunes I am now having even worse issues. The brand new phone powers off in the middle of calls and other apps. And sometimes the phone will freeze completely. I tried everything in the book again. Finally I did a restore, and this time tried erasing all media content (music, photos, videos.) This seemed to do the trick as I didn't have a problem all night and pretty much all day. But just about 15 minutes ago the same problems started again! I'm losing my mind over this! Please help!

It was taken out of a white box at the store. On the side of the box there was a label that said "Replacement 8GB iPhone."
You probably got a bad refurbished unit. It happens. If they rebuilt a unit with an intermittent problem, and they don't catch it during testing, the next guys going to have a problem. I repaired a lot of RCA XL-100 solid state modular TV sets in the 70s. Every module we got from RCA was rebuilt. I would say we had problems with about 10% of them. They would work out of the box, but usually would act up after they got warm.

  • MOVED: K7N2 Delta Upgrade Power Off Problems

This topic has been moved to AMD SocketA based board.
K7N2 Delta Upgrade Power Off Problems

Thanks for the various suggestions.  I can confirm:
     - 4 pin cpu power plug connected
     - front bus frequency changed to 200MHz, processor now recognised correctly as Athlon xp3200+
     - I have been assured the cpu has not been overclocked
However power off problem persists.  System shuts down after approx 1 minute whether i am in BIOS or start initiaiting xp repair from CD.  As the system shuts down after such a short time the xp repair will not complete. The system wil not power on again until at least 15mins has elapsed then promptly powers off again.
I have fitted the D-bracker diagnostic tool and this shows 'operating system booting', ie four green lights.
I note from the motherboard maunal that a cpu thermal protection system is installed for the Athlon cpu platform.  If the mechanism senses an abnormal temperature rise it automatically shuts down the system.  As noted in my original post the system is powering off with the cpu temp at <40 deg C.  The cpu warning temp in the BIOS PC health check stsus facility is set at 60 deg C so do not think this is the issue?
    System details:
    MSI K7 N2 delta (MS-6570)
    Athlon xp 3200+ (AXDA3200DKV-4E)
    Corsair twinX 1024-3200C2 DDR-DIM 1024 MB
    Seagate ST340016A 40MB HDD
    Pioneer DVD Rom
    Generic CRD - BP1500P CD

    Thermal take TR2 470W psu
Coolermaster xdreamII socket A cpu fan

  • Power-on password problem

i have a hp mini 2140 and I took the cmos battery out, disconnected power and battery, let it sit for 2 hours, pressed power on switch maybe to discharge any power left in the system. Plugged ac power in (cmos bat not connected) powered up and I still get the power on password with pic for a key, you make three entries and then you get the big asterick symbol, no code, and then you cannot do anything else until you power it off and then when you power back on and your back to the power on password request. I then replaced the TPM module with another one from a system with no power on password requirment. No luck.
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
Unfortunately,  business machines have more stringent security than consumer models - they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial No. and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case.
If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password - the only other method that will work on these machines is to replace the bios chip - an example of what you require can be see on the following link.

  • Error PWRCYCLE: Card in module 7, is being power cycled off

I have Cisco IDM version 6.1(2)E3.This IDM is module type which once with core switch. The problem its when each time want access GUI use https://10.x.x.x out error 443 and I forced reset ips use command line. When I show log at core switch found PWRCYCLE: Card in module 7, is being power cycled off (Module note responding to Keep Alive polling).
    Any body help me...

The PWRCYCLE log entry in your switch is expected when you reset you sensor. A sensor reset will reload the sensor taking it off the power bus and putting it back on. This results in several switch log messages about the sensor on slot 7.
Your GUI access problem is a different matter. Search this forum for the symptoms you are experiencing. There have been many working solutions to GUI problems posted here.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59291.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52145.exe
When the reinstallation has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' ( or Speakers/HP ) once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • HP ProBook 4530s orange blinking led, won't recognise the power cord

    Hello!
yestarday I tried to open my laptop but it didn't start. i thought that maybe the battery was empty so i plugged the power cord, but nothing happened.
then I noticed the led near the power cord blinking orange. After a fast googling i came to this thread ( http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/charging-light-blinking-problem-with-hp-probook-4530s... )
using the 8-step guide I managed to boot the laptop just to realise that it won't detect the power cord!
It was really strange, because when I noticed this, my battery was already at 2%!
I shut down the laptop, and tried to open it without the battery, it booted normally, but it still can't detect that the power cord is plugged in!!!!!
On the other thread some mentioned to update the bios, but in my case where it can't detect the power cord, that's impossible, because the procedure requires the laptop to be plugged in.
Now the laptop won't start normally, I have to keep the power button pressed for 40 secs and then plug the power cord. In addition it won't work only with battery, and that is my biggest problem!!
    What should I do now?

    Hello @sakisg4 ,
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since the HP ProBook 4530s is a commercial product. You can do this here Notebook - HP ProBook, EliteBook, Compaq, Slate/Tablet PC, Armada, LTE

  • Printer offline no lights on panel power on/off button however UV scanner lit so power to printer

Can any one please help/advise on nsolution if any. My HP Officejet J6410 All-in-One has stopped working.
None of the keys on the panel are lit including the power on/off button however there is power to the printer as the
UV light is illuminated when I switch the mains on, when I switch the mains power off the lights all flash.
I have tried using the HP troubleshooter eventually this stops with error code 0x03c010b.
    Thanks

@mikej1, Welcome to the HP Forums
I understand your Officejet J6410 is not fully powering up, and you have caught the printer showing an error code. I hope to help you with some information, some steps to try and my own suggestions.
What comes to my mind when reading through your issue would be that there could be a power problem with the printer, or the printer itself could have a printhead failure, ink system failure, or a general printer failure. To attempt to work on these issues, I would suggest trying the power related guide first, and then try making a copy from the front of the printer if the power will remain on without an error message or code.
When you are going through these steps, and come to resetting the printer, it's best to make sure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power.

  • Iphone5 faulty power on/off switch

I'm having trouble with my iphone 5 power on/off switch. The problem started about 10 months after purchase, but I thought it was a problem with the 3rd party case not the phone. Problem is now much worse, & after  buying new case, I discovered the problem is actually a faulty power switch on the phone.  Apple declines to fix the problem unless I pony up $295, because the phone is now 2 months out of warranty period. So much for ecouraging customer loyalty.
Looking on the internet, it seems this problem affects many other iphone 5's, & may be a design flaw. I'm trying to determine how prevalent this problem is, and if this is the same switch device that failed in-mass on the iphone 4, for which I am told there were more than 5 million failures. Do I have any other recourse at Apple, or do I just have to throw the phone away, and start buying phones from another vendor?
    Thanks!

Just read an article that they will be replacing switches if you have an affected home. Check phone serial through apple site.

  • Photosmart C8180 Power On/Off Itself

The printer started turning itself on when everything was off, and putting on quite a light show. I unplugged it at both ends several times, waited several minutes and then it went through many gyrations of on/off, an error message BA07AF30 or similar sometimes appeared.  I finally got it to going after removing/resinstalling all the print cartridges; then, in the middle of a printing a page the power turned off/on.  What should I try to get it working normally again?

Throw it in the river and purchase a different brand.  I have the same problem with 3 of them.  I spent an hour on the phone and paid for nothing.  The tech people just down a check list and did the same thing I did before calling tech support.  I purchased 4 of them about 15 months ago and within the last three weeks 3 of them will not shut off, they just turn on and off and on and off and never stop..............great product until warranty ran out.........Canon here I come...
