Power PC applications and Mountain Lion

Question

I just bought a MacBook Air, I wanted to use my old printer but it seems as though Mountain Lion does not support PowerPC applications. Does this mean I need a new printer? or Is there a new driver for my HP 5610 printer that I need to get?

If you are using HP's standalone software for scanning and other functions (such as "HP Image Zone" or whatever they called it) it will not work.
As of Lion, all features for scanning and faxing are incorporated in OS X. For example, if you want to scan a document, there are three methods: you can use Preview, or Image Capture, or you can use System Preferences > Print & Scan, select your printer and select the Scan tab. To fax a document, select Print in whatever program generated the document and a Fax option should be available.
You may need to completely delete the HP 5610 in System Preferences and add it again. It should automatically detect the printer and add it.
In any event forget about using HP Image Zone - HP's software has always been junk and now you don't need it at all.
