Power Point / QuickTime Slideshow

I don't know if I am in the correct forum, or if anyone can help with a non-mac software issue, but if you don't mind .... I tired to make a Pwr Pt slideshow, the kind you get in your Mail account that has the PwrPt icon and when you click on it, you can watch some fancy slideshow of photographs. I exported from iPhoto as a slideshow and then it became a Quicktime movie at 126 MB which bogged up my Mail account. How does a person share a slideshow to others over the internet and not bog down their mail accounts , Thanks

You should be able to select the quality of the QuickTime export. Try H.264 at 320*240. This is iPod quality and may or may not be sufficient for your needs.
If not, why not just send them using iPhoto's email function? You can set them to be compressed, and if the recipient is using Mac OS 10.4, they can view the photos as a slide show on their computer (although they won't music and the photos may be out of order). PC users can still browse the photos as message attachments.

  • Will my recording slideshow on keynote translate well as a power point on a PC?

Hello, I'm creating a power point presentation while narrating it using the" record slideshow" option on keynote. I will need to turn it in a for a letter grade. However my professor will be using her power point program to view this presentation, and I was just wondering whether or not my voice narration would be transferred over?
    Thank you.

The best information is in the Keynote user manual from Page 107.
Be aware that many users are having problems playing back Keynote with narration, especially in Mountain Lion.
Additionally, the links to media files are lost when exporting from Keynote, therefore the narration will have to be imported into Powerpoint again. I never use Keynote to export to PowerPoint if there is video or audio involved, it just does not work properly, I therefore work in PowerPoint directly. If you don't have PowerPoint, download Open Office for Mac, its every bit as good, and being freeware it costs nothing.

  • Viewing power point slideshows

Before I had my Imac, I was able to view power point presentations on a Dell computer as a continuous slideshow complete with sound.  Now when someone sends me a power point file, I can only open it and view each slide separately.  Is there some way to view these slideshows the way I once did on my old computer?

If you have MS Office for Mac installed on your iMac then please re-post your question on the Office for Mac Product Forums . BTW you should indicate what version of MS Office for Mac you have installed. If you do not have MS Office for Mac then you will need that.
    Good luck.

  • Ipod and Power Point..can it work?

I just got the 60 gb video Ipod and wanted to know if it is possible to put a power point presentation (which is on a cd-rom with audio) on my Ipod. If it can be done, please tell me how. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
      Windows XP

If the Keynote document has some slides with quicktime movies to play, when you send the Keynote 3 doc to the iPod 60GB will the video as well as the slides be fully functional??
You can still use PP slides on the iPod. Just export
the slides as JPEGs. PP will put them into a folder
of their own. Just sync them to your iPod and c your
can view them as a slideshow.
You do lose the audio however, but, this is a great
way to have portability for your presentations.
If you are a Mac user, you can send Keynote
presentations to your iPod fully functional without
    having to use this workaround.

  • Date Labels in Keynote compared to Power Point

I am used to Power Point where when I create a that has dates on the X axis I can have the labels shown for each 1 year or each 1 week. In Keynote, it seems like I can only either auto select or select each "x" categories. This is OK except when there are 366 days in a year or you want to do one label for each quarter and there are differing number of days in a quarter. Any thoughts other than deleting the date labels except the ones I want to use?

PowerPoint does not have a "slideshow recording" feature, therefore the recorded sound can't be included.
You would need to record a separate narration using Quicktime, then use PowerPoint or Libra Office to add the sound to the PowerPoint file.
Libra is an open source freeware application and can be downloaded from their website.

  • How can you convert and use a youtube video in power point presentation?

Is there an easy way to use a youtube video in power point presentation?  I have 2012 Macbook Pro running OSX 10.9.2 - Thanks!

See if this helps I use keynote for moving background in loop all the time.
in Keynote click view and bring up the inspector box. select the movie in keynote you want to effect first, and on the inspector panel you will see a repeat feature under the quicktime icon tab.
    Hope that helps

  • QT movie from i photo to be converted in FCP for use in Power Point on PC

I have a i Photo slide show that is saved as a QT movie. I want to use FCP to convert it to play on a Power Point presentation on a Windows XP system that only has Medis Player installed. Media Player will only allow AVI and MJEP file to play. So, what can I do to produce this slide show? I can only use a cd to burn it to. The silde show is 3.5 mins. and I have 700m CD's. ????

I believe PowerPoint will also accept AVI files. If you want to export the program to WMV format, you'll need flip4mac or Popwire's plugin. For MPEG-1 or AVI formats, you should be able to export directly in QuickTime or in FCP. You can also use a program like Sorenson Squeeze or Cleaner.

  • Importing Power Point Slides into FCE

    Hey all,
Have a project where I need to use a customer's power point slides in the finished video. Can I import them someway? Or maybe import into Live Type????
Trying to avoid having to type all of them.
    Thanks,
    Al

You can save a PowerPoint slideshow in many ways.
One possibility is to export a set of images with the format you like: jpeg, tiff, png, etc.: make sure to select the correct DPI (as defined in PPT) in the Options of the save as dialog. For example 180 dpi make a standard slide of 1800x1350 pixels that might fit well in standard DV sequences (default 72 dpi makes a low quality 720x540 image).
A second possibility is to export a movie; also in this case you can choose some parameters like the size of the frame. The default codec is Animation that is good, but requires a conversion of the movie in order to properly import it to FCE.

  • Can Power Point e-mails be saved and used as pictures on a Desk Top?

Is it possible to export images from a Power Point e-mail, (maybe add them to a folder) and be able to use them on the Desk Top.

You need to export the images from the powerpoint file, then import them into iPhoto, then place them in an album, then select that album in System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver.
I'll presume that you can handle all steps but the first. There's no mass export of images from powerpoint. You need to open the file in powerpoint, and secondary click (ctrl-click or two-finger-tap) on each image and select Save as Picture. You'll have to do that for every image you want from the slideshow. You can save them all to one folder, then import that folder into your iPhoto library (File menu > Import to Library).
    Hope this helps...

  • Power Point

Is it possible to insert a Power Point presentation, and its associated audio, in an IMovie project? If yes, how?

If you have Powerpoint, try opening it from within Powerpoint. This will open a .pps file into "normal" mode instead of slideshow mode, allowing you access to the menus.
Otherwise, I think there are utilities that can capture a movie from anything appearing on your screen. I've never tried one, so no advice.

  • Cannot Place Quick Time Object Controller in Power Point

I get a Visual Basic Error message that reads "Object library not registered" when I try to place a QuickTime object on a Power Point slide. Can anybody help me figure out how this can be done? I need to embed a Quick Time movie into a Powerpoint presentation (without having to link to it) It can be done with Flash and Real video, but for some reason I cannot get it to work with QuickTime. Does anyone have any experience with this? Do I need to buy QuickTime Pro in order for it to work?
    Thanks,
    Greg

You could look to use Presenter to create quiz question slides in the PPT deck, and then the Mobile viewers should see them and be able to interact (I think).
The issue with the SWF file is Apple considers that SWF to be a real-time change to the code of the room, and disables it as that is against their policy for apps. So I'm not sure that there is anything you can do differently to your SWF to make it work. Have you tested loading the SWF directly into a share pod, without the PPT? Not sure that that would result in anything different, but worth a try.

  • Importing power point slide into captivate

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I imported an animation slide
from power point to captivate last night and it worked great (using
Captivate2) I tried this morning (using cpativate 3) and the
animation will not play, it just looks like a picture. Is there
something different I have to do using Captivate 2 version vs the
Captivate 3 version? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi again yankeebrit
Well, where there's a will, there is often a way...
You could accomplish it by using what I refer to as 'The
Camtasia Approach'. Basically, it goes like this. Configure the
PowerPoint to play in a resizable window. Start the slide show in
the window, then set Captivate up to record the slideshow as it
plays. Then, when you know animation is coming, press the F9 key to
begin a full motion capture. When the animation ends, press F10 to
    stop recording in full motion.
Using that technique, you are able to get what you want from
    Captivate 2.
    Just a thought... Rick

    sure.
the ppt has to be some kind of 'video' iM supports.
so export it from with MS Office as a Quicktime movie, preffered with 'Animation' codec, or as appleintermediatecodec .. for quality reasons.
you need the Talking Head as a 2nd video.
then use iM's Pic-In-Pic feature to combine both videos as wanted.
I would suggest to do some editing (you full-screen, the ppt full-screen, perhaps 'close ups' of some charts, cut-aways to snoozing audience, etc) to 'pep' the video. for this purpose, it could be much esier to export each slide from within PPT as a jpeg and create the 'flow' in iM only... except, you need the ppt-animations ... but, who uses animations in a presentation anyhow ... ?

  • AVI for PC Power Point

I am trying to produce an AVI file for my PC client's Power Point and general use. Exporting from Final Cut Express as a DV/DVCPRO-NTSC progressive has given me a great file for my Mac, the client cannot view nor insert into PP.
We have tried Sorensen Squeeze, converting to an AVI on a PC all with no or poor quality success. Is there a compression that will work cross platform that has excellent visuals, sound is turned off on this project.

    Timothy,
MPEG1 is very compatible, with reasonable but not great compression. You will need something like ffmpegx to convert from Quicktime to MPEG1.
Anything with better compression than this (MPEG4, Divx) and its difficult to guarantee compatiblilty.
    Or you could just do
File > Export > Using Quicktime Conversion...
    Set Format to AVI
    Click Options
    Set Video Settings to Cinepak
Adjust other factors to suit. Sound isn't needed (you mentioned) so unselect this.
This gives big file sizes, but it will play on windows with even old versions of Media Player.

  • How do I sort and rearrange photos like power point charts?

I am trying to create a slideshow in iphoto.  I am in faces view. How do I sort and rearrange photos like power point charts?

You are asking how to use Aperture, unfortunately a question that is a bit overly broad. Aperture will certainly allow you to do exactly what you ask, but I suggest buying a book/CD/tutorial and working all the lessons to learn the process.
What you want is a tutorial, not a manual. One acceptable tutorial is:
Apple Pro Training Series: Aperture 3  by Dion Scoppettuolo (Apr 23, 2010)
One mandatory thing to do that many tutorials fail to note is:
Back up original image files on and off site before using Aperature or any other images management application.
