  • Power point into DVD studio pro 4?

I have a project i've just been given that requires a DVD be made with 3 seperate chapters. 1) a QT movie...easily imported into studio pro, 2) a chapter that leads to an already made powerpoint 3) a chapter that has a web address on it so when you click on it will take you to the website.
I can do task one with the QT movie.
I cannot get the powerpoint to drop into studio pro.
My question is...How do you import a power point presentation into studio pro 4 as a self contained item (maybe i should call it asset) and be able to advance it like a powerpoint presentation?

Here's what I ended up doing. Because each slide had 2 or 3 steps to it ( i.e. like a bar graph that adds bars as you click next) I opened up the powerpoint and then also opened Grab. I grabbed each slide using the still timer from my screen and saved it in a file format that I could put into slideshow in dvdsp.
What I'm having troubles with is being able to get the slideshow to advance to the next slide using the keyboard (i.e. spacebar or return button) and not the simulator onscreen remote. Any suggestions how to make that happen?
Thanks for the slideshow hint. It pointed me in the right direction.

  • How can I play Power Point DVDs that were created on my mac 7-10  years ago?

I cannot play DVDs that were created 7-10 years ago using Power Point for Mac.

What do you mean Keynote "son't open the DVDs"? That doesn't make sense. It's not up to Keynote to open the DVDs. The file that are ON the DVDs, yes. The DVDs, no. What kind of files are they, exactly?
Try downloading Open Office and see if you can open them with Impress, the presentation program included with the Open Office package.
If that won't work, you can get a 1 month trial of Office365 from Microsoft. It's $9.99 a month after the trial ends.

  • DVD Interactive "Power Point"

    Hello,
I teach a Humanities class at a junior college, and I am planning to create a documentary to play for my students. In addition to video content, I would like for the final DVD to have certain interactive "slides" that might traditionally be the domain of Power Point.
For example, I would like to create a slideshow that is not timed--a slideshow where I could actually flip from image to image at my leisure. I have seen this sort of thing on professional DVD movies; for example, some DVDs feature an interactive movie script, where you just use the remote control to "flip" through the entire movie script, page by page. You can take all the time you want reading each page.
Is there any way this sort of thing can be done in DVD Studio Pro? I may not have described what I'm wanting to do very well!
    Thank you for your time!
    Chris

I have just finished authoring a DVD with a short 2 minutes movie and a "pseudo" slideshow build with 30 menus (each slide is a menu) . . . I'll try with scripts next time. I have to learn how first !!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks for the tip.

  • Exporting from Keynote to Power Point

I live in Kenya in East Africa and run photographic safaris. I use Canon digital equipment (still photography) and at the end of each safari set up a slide show of the better images taken on the safari and give it to the guests. I present my images using power point as this seems to be the most universal way to present slides.
I own a 17 inch Power Book G4 and also a 17 inch Mac Book Pro. I use Aperture on both Macs.
On my new Mac Book Pro I have problems. After editing in Aperture, I then export my versions ( in any format - Tiff, Jpeg ) to a file and then import them from that file to power point. Power point seems to remove all the punch of the images making them look very flat and hardly worth looking at. Why?
I have managed to by pass this problem on my Power book G4 by exporting images from Aperture as Tiffs, these seem to work quite well when they are imported into Power point, except the files are huge.
What this means is that I own a Mac Book Pro but don't use it as it can't do what is required. I hope I am doing something wrong or that there is an alternative method to presenting slides.
I have Keynote, which works well. Sadly most of our guests are PC users and so would like the slides in a PC format. Keynote allows you to convert to power point, but here again the picture once in power point looks flat, Why?
Is there a better method than Power point to present slides? In a presentation I like to have text, single and multiple images per slide.
I have used iDVD, but there are not enough pixels on a TV screen (when showing still images) to give you a punchy clear picture, or so I am told.
I would love any suggestions to help with this problem.

    Hi Ngiri
It's not really clear to me how you or your guests are assessing your "flat" photos - on a computer screen, via a video projector, on a TV?
Most of my photo slide shows are created using DVDStudioPro - look fantastic. Distributed as a PAL DVD "best viewed on a TV".
Lately I have tried some photo presentations using Keynote, and then exported to Powerpoint. Photos looked fine, but PP is unacceptable. I then tried exporting from PP straight to PDF. Using a PDF for a presentation was a revelation - photos look very good. The PDF is a small cross platform file. However, I still prefer DVDStudioPro, but it takes much longer to create a DVD.
Have you actually tried Keynote straight to iDVD? Or a slideshow created within iDVD? (Lots of tutorials available).
I have used iDVD, but there are not enough pixels on
a TV screen (when showing still images) to give you a
punchy clear picture, or so I am told.
???I don't understand why anyone would tell you this???
Of course, Aperture could be the problem...or your Mac Book Pro is incorrectly setup.

  • Correct dimensions for Power POint Slides

What would you all recommend for dimensions for Power Point slides so that they fill up the screen
with no border. My customer is cramming too much text on each slide and it is beyond title safe, going to near edge of TV screen upon viewing.
    I have sequences that are both 16 x9 (720 x 480) and 4 x3 .
    Thanks,
    Al

I agree with that much text it is not looking good on the TV that I am testing it on. On computer it is better. I thought about the color layer below the slide but the design of the slide has 2 color boxes, (one horizontal, one vertical) on it and putting a layer below doesn't look good so far.
I am probably going to have to edit each slide and shrink the font and increase the borders.
I am talking to the admin who made them today.
A bigger problem is that they have trouble playing the DVD's I make with iDVD in their PC environment. The DVD's either play jerkily or not at all compounded by the fact that the people have lost all the remotes to their DVD players and can't pick a chapter. So I am trying to come up with work around.
    Thanks for response,
    Al

  • Burning Power Pt to dvd

I have a Power Point slide show made on a pc that I transferred to a Mac. The teacher who made it wants to burn it to a dvd to give to her students. When I try to do this the background stays on the theater curtain backdrop. Her pictures come up on the curtain backdrop and not what she had. It also does not do any of the transitions. She also didn't know how to add music. I tried but it only played with the first slide.
Is there a way to do this?
I told her next year use the iMovie.
    eMac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   iDVD 6
    eMac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

If you open the .ppt file in Keynote, you could
export it as a QT movie file, which would easily
    and
    happily import into iDVD.
    I will try that next.
    Thanks.
I used Keynote and turned it into a Quicktime movie. I then imported that into iMovie and I am now burning a DVD. Thank you so much for the help.

    Hi,
    On any machine, please try:
Click the "Options" tab on the PowerPoint toolbar,
then select "Play Full Screen" from the "Movie Options" group.

  • New to apple and wondering if using keynote is easier than power point.

    Hello all,
I have only been using os x for about 6 months, and I was wondering if using keynote is easier than power point? I am in school so I need to know if keynote will save in ppt format. The school that I go to only uses MS office 97 to 2004 format for all docs and power points. Is using keynote that much different?

i find keynote MUCH easier in almost all areas. it did take me a little learning in the beginning. the main thing to know is that apple uses a floating pallet call "inspector" to control just about all the details of the presentation. they also have a "formatting bar" which is conceptually similar to the formatting bars microsoft uses in the previous versions of office (font size, etc...).
the basic entry for slides is the same, where one just types into the fields on the slides. what i find much better is the control i have in the "inspector" to fine tune anything. i've gotten completely dependent on keynotes "staging" which is how one makes the slides animate. if i have a series of bullets and a diagram, i use the staging to get the diagram to be revealed in stages and to get the bullets appear one at a time in sync with the diagram i'm explaining. nothing is more boring for an audience to have someone just stand up, thru up a slide with 100 words and read the text bullets.
i find keynote to be much easier to develop diagrams or to copy and paste in a PDF picture. then add the staging effects i need to develop the story to explain the diagram or picture. it does take a little learning how to do it the first couple times. but the interface is consistent and it's not hard to learn it.
the only aspect i find a little easier in powerpoint is the indenting style, which is controlled in one of the editing buttons in office 11 and before. keynote controls the indenting from the "inspector" instead of having a little button in the formatting bar. but in every other way, i find keynote to be MUCH easier to use. and it has other features that powerpoint doesn't have. plus iwork is very inexpensive compared to microsoft office. finally, if you are near an apple store, they have free seminars on iWork fairly often. the 1st time i used keynote, i went to the apple store workshop and got a few answers. just see how easy it is to get person to person help for microsoft office...
the only other game in town are the various releases of the open source programs, "open office" and "neo office". they are free, also read and write ppt files, but are a little harder to use than keynote and don't have as many features.
    anyway, that's my experience.
    good luck!

  • Report download to power point doesn't show all records

    dear experts,
I have a report with a tape deck below, so it shows only records 1-25. When I click download to excel, every record is downloaded (1-all rows) and this is fine. But, if I download to power point, only the records shown on the dashboard (e.g. 1-25) are downloaded into power point.
Our quality assurance claims, that the behaviour for both download options should be the same, and not downloading to excel having every row and the power point showing limited rows.
Is there a way to download the whole report, each row, to power point (without clicking on tapedeck to show all) ??
    Thanks in advance.
    best regards,
    Thomas

    problem solved
modify report - results(answers) - click on printer icon (PDF and Print Control) - Print Rows - set to "All"

  • How to open and view a demonstration file of MS Power Point 2010 on iPad 2?

Hello! I've made a MS Power Point file for my boss, he is using an iPad 2 (iOS 4) But he can only open a static picture of the presentation, but he can't view the presentation step by step as it should be. Which app or feature should he use to see full demonstration of presentation?
    Thanks in advance!

Best bet is downloading Keynote made by Apple. It's 9.99 on the App store and lets you view, open, edit, and create powerpoint presentations. It's awesome!!!
